So I got into a idle mobile game called AFK Arena and fell in love with the lore and characters (and csnt stop talking ideas with Howlxte on discord) Golus became one of my faves quickly and I just thought “what if he met Koz?” And then “what if Koz was crazy enough to try and ride the centaur?”

Space Opera AU!

Emily is an alien in this, and the closest earth creature I can think of to compare her too is an anthropomorphic brushtail possum; prehensile tail, short, dense fur and ears that are usually hidden in her mop of hair, which is probably a wig. She won’t tell and considering her father is human her mother is very alien, it’s entirely possible it could be real (its not. much like in my blog canon, she’s not actually related to her father). 

She grew up on a spaceship, although it was more a space-city than a ship. It was considered a long-term residence and essentially functioned as a space station. It moved out of it’s resident orbit twice while she was a child, both times due to war. 

She grew up on stories of celestial knights and generals and tamed stars and planets given physical form. She grew up on very fantastical tales that she really adored until she hit her teenage years, when they were shoved into the box with the rest of her childhood things. She left home young and took on work as a petty thief. Eventually she found her knack for computers, and more specifically, AI’s. 

Her partner is part of the peace-keeping organization that keeps one of the sectors of space functional. This usually leads to long periods apart, but since they’re both from long-lived species this doesn’t bother them too very much. They rarely leave the quadrant the other is in, so they’re always ‘relatively’ close to each other. Her partner does end up in a lot more skirmishes and battles than Emily is entirely comfortable with. 

Space pirates are a thing. Emily accidentally takes a job with a crew of them, where they go and raid ancient ruins of a ‘long dead’ race to pilfer any valuables and technology they can. It goes poorly, as they wake something up that they really, really shouldn’t have. While some of the crew liken it to opening pandora’s box, Emily thinks its more on par with opening a jail cell. 

Science starts to get weird and a lot of the more ‘magical’ elements from eons past start creeping back into existence. Emily doesn’t initially deal with any of this, but her partner sure does. Sentient planets are not supposed to be things that exist. Large space animals that resemble planets? Sure. Actual planets taking on a bipedal form to berate their inhabitants? That’s a little too close to magic to make sense, but alas. That’s a thing that’s starting to happen, let alone stars and the actual literal void of space. The anthropomorphism of elements is going from something Emily heard about in stories as a child to very literal people she can meet and talk with. 

The heroes of old might also be reappearing from the woodwork and they are not entirely happy at being called out of retirement.

Texture and mood are the first things to pop out to me. A strong sense of believable lighting, natural composition and harmonious color choice really make your piece stand strong and uniquely yours.

texture is an interesting thing to bring up ! it’s not something I feel especially well mindful of so I wonder what makes it stand out that much . Glad my compositions do though, because I am exceptionally lazy about them and that’s why they’re never even a little bit subtle . I had a brief phase of considering storyboarding as a career focus , but it turned out i only wanted to storyboard the really dramatic parts LOLharmonious colours though , and to a somewhat related level , lighting       that’s all the fault of the bird . i had to figure out how to make colours work in weird ways if I ever wanted to paint her because prior to that my art all looked like desaturated blobs.

Defiantly the ghostly almost dream like feel of your artwork. Its there and its vivid but its soft and flowing.

Name one idea for a plot you’ve had but never gotten around to writing.

( Admittedly, I feel like I’m terrible at plotting. I kinda just go with whatever happens to pop into my head at the moment.

However, I would like to introduce some of the other players in the Seelie and Unseelie courts and flesh them out a bit further than the thin characterizations that I’ve had in my mind for awhile now. I especially feel like the new Unseelie king Aminalthys would be an interesting character to set loose for a bit.

Along with the courts, I’d like to do more with the other varieties of fae in Tess’ world. Spriggans, dryads, rusalkas, kelpies... So many fun races to choose from, and I’m sure they aren’t always the most considerate neighbors. It’s fun to put them into conflict with each other and see what shakes out. )

    She really couldn’t care less about their social status, she cares about spirit, passion, creativity, and intelligence, it really makes no difference to her how much money they have in their pocket or what their rank is, just as long as they can keep up mentally.

    As for the second question, if asked before, I would have said no, but...lol, I’ve noticed a pattern...

   We joke about twinks but...it’s kinda true, she has a female preference, and finds femininity very attractive in general. Otherwise: height, soft fur (bonus points if it’s darker), uhhhh? She’s not very picky in the physicality department, it really is more about the mental aspect. She really likes people that continually challenge her and not just try to placate her at every turn, just, a certain spirit as I’ve said before, a hunger for knowledge, improvement, determination, etc.

How I feel about this character

I was ready to hate him at first because I’d enjoyed Sendak’s character so much and was disappointed that he was ‘gone.’ He kind of grew on me though, even though he’s a bit of a conniving boot-licker. Keith Ferguson’s voice work probably helped.

     Totally didn’t deserve the hand he was dealt, but, that’s a dead horse that’s been beaten into the ground by this point.

All the people I ship romantically with this character

I don’t really ship anyone with him. For all I know he’s probably hitched or something.

My non-romantic OTP for this character

Sendak, I guess? Like I don’t think they’re best friends but they probably get together once in a while to bitch about crappy soldiers and annoying reporters and stuff over drinks. It’s about the same relationship I see him having with any of the other members of high command, honestly. He doesn’t really seem the type to be best buddies with anyone.

My unpopular opinion about this character

I don’t read much fanfic, but so much of what I’ve seen him written into depicts him as some sort of nasty, mustache-twirling slob who can’t get laid any other way than to force himself on slaves and I just... Man, no. Nope. That’s not what this guy is about, and I get so sick of seeing it. Y’all see him drawn with a less-than-ideal body shape and suddenly he’s cast as this gross, detestable person?

Fuck all the way off with that bullshit. I’m not even saying this because he’s one of my muses, I’m just really tired of seeing that stereotyping garbage. Get a little bit creative, will you?

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.

I realize he basically amounted to a plot device, but I really wish that he could have gotten to see more action in battle before he got turned into a robeast. I don’t care what. Just anything. One last chance to prove himself before he got sentenced to life as a tin can.

Shock and horror mix in something inexplicable as all the calm and collection you embody shatters in one fell swoop. The words of rumor so striking that you are momentarily stunned into silence before the anger swells and contorts your features to violence.

        The snarl that leads your words is a guttural sound that could shatter glass and silence crowds. A deep and visceral rage from the childhood you’ve long since buried in the cage you call your ribs. All the the blood in your veins blackens at the mention of the man that twisted you into his image and the woman that you watched walk through misery for you. 

               More then your disgust at such accusations, you are perplexed by how information about your parents ever reached the public ear at all. You took careful steps to keep the stories from your youth dead in the water. Though perhaps this was just someone’s best guess at an attempt to turn you inside out. You’re almost ashamed at how quickly it worked.

🍊 - What are your favourite genres of threads? Fluff? Angst? Etc

I definitely have a soft spot for two extremes--Lotor in his element (piloting, fighting, manipulating) and Lotor very out of his element (facing his own insecurities, afraid of something or someone, trying to express emotions he doesn’t often have). So, I have to go with action--with mild angst.

That said, I really like everything, and almost every genre can fit into one of the above categories in some way. The only thing I don’t like is when Lotor has no clear goal within the thread; he’s a muse that demands a reason. “Why would I do this? What is the purpose?”
