So do you guys remember Scar?  That one bird-like blind researcher/scholar OC I made for an AU where he helps a broken and battered Nidhiki to heal and then the two become friends.

Well, I’m going to confess something: Scar isn’t necessary my oc, but rather he was an alias Kojol took after faking his death. Basically the whole concept with Scar was that Kojol actually faked his death and decided to masqureade as a bird to continue his research and creation of Rahi. Originally the character I wanted to befriend Nidhiki was meant to be an oc but @generalbioniclefriend suggested it being a disguised Kojol. So I really like the idea and ran with it.

Also another thing is that while I kinda stopped working on that AU and haven’t talken about him since I made him in september 2021 I still use Scar, as I inserted him to my main fanon verse, where he has served as a decently notable supporting character. Well, except its not Scar anymore. I realized his name was a bit generic so I changed his name to Krouja. Though I still imagine the word Krouja would mean scar or something similar in Matoran language (no I haven’t asked Out of Gloom what scar is translated to in Matoric. Though I could and change his name to that. But I also like Krouja it sounds nice.)

A few days ago when talking to him in Discord DMs, @generalbioniclefriend mentioned to me how he saw Kojol as having ADHD. And now while it’s possible that GBF was joking rather than being serious that hasn’t left my brain. Because god, Kojol being neurodivergent is just a really good headcanon I'm going to adopt to myself.

Now, I don’t really like imagining MU inhabitants having 1:1 IRL neurological conditions, because they are robots and function in a different way from humans and live in a completely alien setting. But just because I don’t like inserting exact real neurodivergencies into this different setting doesn’t mean I don’t like the concept of neurodivergency existing in MU or that there being conditions analogous to real life ones. This is because I find the idea of some MU inhabitants being wired differently compared to rest of their species super interesting as a concept. Its also a good way to add neurodivergent representation in a way that feels authentic and believeable to the setting.

Now back to Kojol specifically, I think the reason I love the idea of him being neurodivergent is because I absolutely adore the concept of Kojol being this researcher/scientist type obsessed with his research and experiments. Now this isn’t that unusual since most Makuta are scientist types (or at least they should be given their purpose was to create Rahi to begin with.) But with Kojol specifically I feel that his dedication to his craft and research overseeds the typical levels of a  Makuta and instead become much more extreme. Like essentially Kojol  devotes his entire existence to his craft and doesn’t really care about much else. I feel that he didn’t really care about Teridax’s Plan to begin with, and just saw it as an opportunity to conduct his experiments and research in ways that weren’t precedent for him prior to Teridax’s takeover.

Another reason I like Kojol being neurodivergent is because...I kinda like the concept of a Makuta who was physically unable to completely purify themselves from their inner moral light and instead replace it with pure darkness. And given how my interpretation of Kojol isn’t as much arrogant  as he is deeply absorbed into his research, him being essentially unable to remove his light completely. Now Kojol isn’t necessarily “good” by nature (he’s more amoral than anything, though he is capable of goodness) and He did manage of turn some of inner light into inner darkness and he is still somewhat self-centered and -absorbed, but nowhere to the degree to rest of the Brotherhood. , but not to the extent compared to rest of the Brotherhood. It’s moreso that his inner light is diluded rather than completely gone. Another possibility I really like is that Kojol always had relatively low inner light so when he tried to remove it it never went away. I also like the idea that he has both inner light AND inner darkness rather than the latter replacing the former.

Lastly a big thing I like is how GBF suggested that “Kojol used to overshare other Makuta got mad at him for it and now he refuses to share anything” and that just...adds so much depth to his character that I really like. That essentially his secrecy isn’t as much a natural state as it is a defense mechanism and a means to protect himself from pain...which is just good.

In conclusion let the secretive mad scientist birb Makuta be neurodivergent thank you.

I feel the reason people often go to dark/conflict driven is all the set up and loose threads post canon serials have that needs resolving. Stuff like Velika murdering pivotal MU figures left right and center, Pohatu and Kopaka being on the left star, the search of Great Beings and Marendar need resolution before a happy ending ya know. Not to menrion the loose threads left from MU such as TSO and his viruses for instance.

That being said I havent really seen that much grimdark "everyone we cared of dies endings" (the closest is generalbioniclefriends darkverse and EVEN THEN it isnt really an everyone dies ending, may have seen one or two those). Most post canon ideas I see either have all the heroic characters we know and love survive and only villains dying or only a few sacrifices. A lot of them end relatively happily too with Velika defeated one way or another, Marendar either destroyed or redeemed, Lewa, Kopaka and Pohatu back safe and sound, and MU inhabitants and spherians coexisting.I guess its because its cathartic and more satisfying both narratively and thematically than a kill em all ending (this is Bionicle, not a Tomino anime or Transformers the movie 1986). That and some of Gregs own comments kinda imply he was ""planning"" if not a happy ending, at the very least a bittersweet one, considering how he wanted Takanuvas power of friendship resolve the problem regarding Great Beings (and spherians speciesm against Mu inhabitants) once and for all rather than violence. There are a few disagreements how the ending should go (mostly which characters should die/survive as well as what toa Matas ultimate fate should be (whether they stay in Spherus Magna or travel to space to become heroes to other worlds)) but mostly people are on the same page regarding that the ending should be bittersweet at worst.

That being said GOD I feel that on focusing more fluff/recovery rather than the plot stuff. I have a few thoughts how the loose threads should be tied up, but most of my post canon thoughts are "I want Lariska to be happy and sever her ties from Dark Hunters for good" or thoughts regarding my post canon rehabilation center thats vasically a place for all outcasts and weirdos to find love and redemption. Idk I just love fluffy stuff like this and thinking about the trying to settle down to a new society more than the drama plot or trying to resolve the mes thar is Bionicles unfinished epilogue. That and I want all my faves who are still alive and are at least somewhat sympathetic and redeemable (those being Lariska, Brutaka and Miserix) to get a somewhat happy ending because they deserve it 🥺🥺🥺🥺

In the tags I specifically said to not say Nidhiki because that's a bit too obvious and easy pick to go with but since you didn't know what ask game it was and as such didn't probably see the post not to mention my tag of it, it's completely alright (it would be alright even if you saw but I digress)

Akaku: Are you a very perceptive person? Why do you think so/not?

I like seeing myself as a perceptive person. I am someone who often likes observing and analyzing the things I observe, and forming deep and interesting observations based on what I notice. I like forming my opinions on topics, but also like learning about others perspectives,even those who are opposite to my own. I wholeheartedly believe that learning and understanding others views is a way to make world a better place, as I believe a lot of conflict and strife comes from lack of understanding others and seeing ones perspective as the absolute truth, instead of just one vision of world. This is why I strive to understand others perspectives the best I can, as I believe it will help me to understand the world better and fight ignorance and narrowmindness. Of course some perspectives are narrow and harmful, but I do believe understanding why someone would believe harmful ideologies is important in combating them rather than going to a black-white tribalistic thinking (which I am not immune of, I am a human and a rather intense feeling one at that, but I try my best to combat my own narrow thoughts).

That being said, I'm someone who is more perceptive when it comes to people or larger concepts. I'm not really someone who is perceptive of my surroundings due to being rather a head in the clouds type of person often time. (That and a lot of surroundings I visit tend to be the same so there isn't really much to observe)

Mahiki: Do you change your demeanour/personality for others, or stay much the same no matter who you are with? Why?

This is actually a fascinating question.

To an extent I believe myself to be a chameleon of sorts, and change my demenaor based on what type of people are around. I understand that there's time and place for things, and that sometimes it’s best to try to be something else.

I am also somewhat of a people pleaser. I want people to like me and moreoften than not I feel for that I need to have the same opinions as them. This means sometimes I’m willing to change my own opinions if it means I think others will like me more.

That being said, there are aspects of me that. I tend to be a relatively opionated person, so even if I wanted, it’s very hard for me to CHANGE my opinion just so it aligns with someone elses. In additon....I’m kinda that kind of person whohas hard time changing their behavior. I’m  loud, a bit weird, and more often than not a lot of aspects of my core personality are there even if I didn’t want them to. I just need to adjust myself.

Creation: Are you creative? What do you create?

I would say I am creative. I love to create things, and consider my creativity and imagination being one of my greatest assets, even if Im not the best at it, admittely

Regarding what I create, I consider myself a Jack of All Trades of sorts, as I both love and am good at lot of things. I write (both fiction and nonfiction), draw, play piano, sing, voice act (for fun). You name it, there’s a chance I have tried it at some point. Heck I even dream of doing something ambitous, like making a game, or an audiodrama. There’s so much to do, and so little time and energy it makes me bad.
