I know I talk about mdzs modern AUs a lot, but it's just somehow become a fascinating adaptation process to me, all these people making their personal calls about the nature of reality.

And a thing I keep coming back to is all the people who deliberately decide to give modern!wwx Mo Xuanyu's build.

To preserve the strength contrast that's leveraged for horny, which like, yeah that's fair, horny is an acceptable reason to make a story choice. I respect that, sometimes grudgingly.

But as a result of noticing this being done, oftentimes it seems without any reflection about why, I've developed this minor obsession with the fact that wwx in his own body at its adult height was fractionally shorter than lwj.

And this was the height he reached after a multi-year period in childhood living on scrounged garbage, plus the three months starving in the mass grave toward the end of his growth period.

Meaning that by all normal logic, a modern AU wwx who did not experience these periods of intense privation--which is most of them; it's quite rare for children to experience that particular form of total neglect in modern developed nations and modernAU!wwx's life ruining circumstances only occasionally involve intense physical torment--is going to be significantly taller as an adult.

Like. Add a few inches on there.

Bat was technically born with all 4 legs, but the constricted one was already dead and had fully withered away be the time he was a few weeks old. People who have cared for kittens with ABS have said the limb tends to die even with intervention- so I imagine it's sort of like band-castration in steers.

Bat doesn't remember ever having his right leg. It already had no feeling when he was born, so thankfully, he's spared from phantom pain that later-in-life amputees get. He does have a fully developed scapula and part of his humerus, hence him wiggling the stump in Moon 4 part 2!

I don't want to get into spoilers, but while Bat doesn't get phantom pain, he's not free from amputation related health issues. Little/domestic cats aren't a 1:1 comparison because Homotherium is (obviously) much heavier on their joints, and much more reliant on grappling large prey.

Make of that what you will for now...

I wrote a short Drabble set after Shay is shot at the homestead and before Monro and his troops find him. Why, you may ask? Because I like pain apparently jdn no but I wanted to incorporate in his story and make Shay lowkey meet the Morrigan, the Celtic goddess of war, death and rebirth because 1) his ship is named after her 2) there are just too many similarities between them that it is nearly as impossible to just ignore it!!!

If you know her myth then you know what this is about, but if you don’t, in some myths the Morrigan has taken the appearance of a crone and she appears in visions where she predicts the death of someone. In these visions she is seen washing by a river the clothes of the person that is soon destined to die. In Shay’s case, he doesn’t die physically, only symbolically, that’s why she is washing his Assassin’s clothes. 👀

Also, one of her many forms of manifestation is a red wolf, which also happens to the design of Shay’s ship sails. 😏

All those souls lost…one more hardly matters.

A never-ending darkness surrounded him.

There was no sound, no light, no pain. His whole body felt numb. The only rumor was the insistent throbbing in his ears.

But the sweet embrace of death wouldn't yet come for him. Perhaps that was God's punishment for a Traitor. That was what he was, someone that had turned his back on his friends, and hell was the only place for people like him. But there was no light or flames around him, only the void.

He did not know how long it took him to regain consciousness, but when he did, all that numbness suddenly turned into unbearable pain. He felt as if his entire body was being stabbed with millions of knives.

He tried to move, but his limbs felt detached from him, and he felt himself being dragged even more deeper in the depths of the ocean.

But, even weakened as he was, he had no intention of giving up so easily. It was too late for his father, but it wasn’t for him. Adrenaline kicked in and he flailed, screamed even, this until he eventually managed to reach the surface of the water.

However, the fight for his life had just started.

Waves came crashing from all directions, taking the breath out of him and nearly making him drown. But he held on, kept moving his arms, and tried his best to fight the dizziness that threatened to overcome him. Suddenly he hit a rock, hard, and gasped, water invading his lungs. The last thing he saw was the manuscript floating in front of him.

When he opened his eyes, he found himself in a meadow.

He recalls having been here before, during one of his voyages with his father. He always used to tell him about Ireland's green fields, but this place was everything but heavenly. It looked like a battle had just occurred here.

Men lay dead everywhere, their blood soaking the soil, their bodies feast for crows and wolves.

Shay walked though them, not looking back. Death was a natural part of life, and he knew those soldiers had given their lives to protect the cause they believed in.

He arrived by a river where there was an old woman busy washing clothes. He approached her, hoping that she would tell him where he was, but once closer he realized, quite shockingly, whose clothes she was cleaning. Those were his Assassin's robes. But that wasn’t the detail that shocked him the most. His clothes were drenched in blood, the river’s water turning crimson as the woman kept soaking his robes.

Instinctively, Shay glanced at his hands, and he found these too covered in blood. He knew whose blood it was. All those people in Lisbon had died because of him, their lives broken for human greed, the Assassins greed, but he was the murderer, the person that had triggered the earthquake, and he knew that their souls will torment him for eternity.

Realization hit him then, making his stomach drop.

‘’ I’m dead, aren’t I? ‘’ The words that left his lips weren't meant as a question, they were more a statement.

The woman's eyes turned to him, and if there was anything he was certain of at the moment, was that her gaze will remain imprinted in his soul forever. Her voice echoed in his mind.

‘’ Rebirth is coming, but the storm’s not over yet. ‘’

The sound of waves crashing ashore was the first thing he heard when he opened his eyes. He was laying on a hard surface now, face down and soaked to his bones.

He couldn’t make sense of his surroundings, but all he knew was that he had somehow managed to grab the manuscript before it could get lost in the Atlantic, and that he was now holding it in a vice-like grip as if his life depended on it. It did–and not only his life.

He moved his head, and far in the distance he noticed a wolf looking at him. Its fur was red, and Shay could not help but think how that was such a beautiful contrast among the snow. Its stare, however, sent chills down his spine, much like it did the woman in his dream, or perhaps could just be the cold’s doing…

But he had no more fight left in him, so if his body was destined to be a feast for wolves, then so be it.

He let his eyes drift closed and let the darkness embrace him.

THIS tutorial was super helpful for making Miku but Teto didn't have one. Therefore I messed up her drills a little at first but I'm just glad that she's complete and not a disaster, hahaha. xD

This is my first time making Papercraft characters and it's fun. Unfortunately Miku and Teto's heads easily fall off so there's no way I can do stop motion animation with them or anything or move them around too much, but I enjoyed this. They're cute. ^^

Their arms being outstretched like that was a total accident and how the paper itself wanted to bend, so I took the opportunity to make them touch hands lmao. They probably can't get any closer than that without dying (their heads falling off) though LOL. Idk what else to pose them doing but they'll definitely chill on my desk full-time I think.

Btw Mesmerizer Papercraft definitely exists and I even saw "Who Knows" Teto, and someone also made SV Teto. So if I'm motivated I might print those out and build them too. ^^ (You should try it. It takes like an hour or more per character and after the first time, it's straightforward to do.)

2012 Good Genes: Vengence is Mine part 1

Ooooo an ongoing comic perhaps.

This is mostly an exercise in finding my own style for the Turtles so expect the models to change wildly and frequently haha. Also if you’re wondering what its about: mash 2003’s “Adventure’s in Turtle Sitting” and “Good Genes” with the Karai serpent deal in 2012 and I think you’ll get a rough idea.

Also also I’ve never made a comic before so expect some extra jank teehee. I want to update it at least once a week but beyond that I’m going to post pages when I’m done with them ;D

Also also also I have dysgraphia so can’t spell like at all and I’m doing the lettering in Procreate which doesn’t have the ever so helpful red squiggle so expect big words like “ingredients” to be misspelled if I don’t catch it.

I’m sure this will go smoothly.

Since I only answer for Aleph Null as an AU and not canon or anything else I’m guessing that’s what you mean.

Any troll can have any mutation immagenable, none are blood specific because gene mutations are essentially errors in the code that makes up your dna, just like with humans. So it’s kind of anything you can think of tiny or large. The only limit is like a biological one- like your bones can’t just become metal or anything- plus that would be really bad for you tbh. Most mutations are uh not actually all too great when it comes to survival rates anyways…at least when you haven’t evolved to be compatible with said gene mutation.

Also im kinda guessing you’re looking for “acceptable in Alternian society” more over. There are a lot of gene mutations that are acceptable especially ones highbloods can get away with the biggest factor of them though is that it needs to be seen as beneficial to keep in the gene pool. If it can lead to causing problems for your body and well being thats how the empire decides to let you live. That and the thing they have about blood mutations since blood is what their entire social structure is built up on.

Like if you are a highblood that has a psionic gene mutation and you have psionics that’s fine. Rainbow drinker gene mutation? Yeah that’s also fine. It’s when you dip into the castes above you is when it becomes not fine, fins and gills on someone who doesn’t have violet blood is pretty much a cull me on sight sign- why? Easy because the people in power are seadwellers and they don’t want their traits to belong to those blow them, that would make you equal.
