A short story comic about a Shiny Shinx that I caught in Pokémon Violet!
After comic notes below:
.
.
.
.
So made a six page comic or like 24 panels total to tell a story I had thought of after catching a Shiny Shinx in Pokémon Violet. So in the game some Pokémon have a gender difference. For Shinx, only the males have black on their back paws while females have back paws that are blue (normal) or yellow (shiny).
When I ran into this Shinx, I was like “oh cool I’m gonna catch a Shiny Girl Shinx!” but when it went to the Dex entry it showed that the Shinx was Male! Turns out, the developers accidently put the shiny female texture on the male model. Cause other than the back paws, the hair is longer for males and shorter for females. The regular blue Shinx models are correct in game. So I just thought it was cool and wanted to make a story about a trans Shinx and how it might try to communicate that “no, your Dex Entry is right, I’m a boy!” when the trainer would normally be aware of the difference.
Edit: Made a 7th Page cause it is getting a lot of attention on twitter and wanted to clarify it a bit haha.

The Genetic Underpinnings of Gender Differences in Autism Spectrum Disorder
Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a complex neurodevelopmental disorder with a male-to-female prevalence ratio of 4:1. The genetic mechanisms that underlie this gender difference, however, remain somewhat elusive.
Recent research has shed some light on this topic, suggesting that females may require a higher 'genetic load' to reach the threshold for an ASD diagnosis. This is evidenced by the fact that the prevalence of putative functional de novo mutations (loss-of-function and predicted deleterious missense mutations) in females is significantly higher than that in males.
Moreover, ASD candidate genes are found to be more frequently co-expressed in female brains than in male brains. This suggests that compensation effects of the deficiency of ASD candidate genes may be more likely in females.
However, it's important to note that male and female-specific genes are co-expressed with each other, suggesting a convergent functional network of male and female-specific genes.
This research provides suggestive evidence supporting the 'female-protective effect' in ASD, a theory that posits that females have a higher threshold for ASD due to protective genetic factors.
Further research is needed to fully understand the genetic mechanisms that contribute to the gender differences in ASD prevalence. Integrating neuronal and hormonal data may provide more insights into the underlying gender difference in ASD.

The current study was carried out to determine the influence of cross-sex helping and genderdifferences in helping behavior. This study looks at the effect of cross-sex helping and gender differences in helping behavior. There were two groups of participants that were considered in the study. The first group (group 1) consisted of male victims and 2 observer while the second group (group 2) had a female victim and 2 observers. Different locations were picked around the University and the victims would act to drop papers on the ground. In the due course, the observers looked to see what the bystanders would do and later they had to record the response in the note book. The victims (actors) were between the ages of 20 to 40. The findings indicated that female and male A’s were more likely to receive help from cross-sex helpers than from same sex helpers. Females were found to be twice as likely to receive help and slightly more likely to give help than males. Introduction According to literature, in the western societies, it has been indicated that gender is a n important factor in helping behaviour, despite the results have been contradictory. I has been found that men are more likely to help as compared to women(feinman, 1978).On the other hand, women have been found to be more likely to help than men(Bihm,Gaudet,& Sale,1979).There are as well other studies that have indicated that there is no difference between the two(Benson,Karabenick,& Lerner,1976).The person gender that is being helped is a critical factor in the helping behaviour due to women and men could be more willing to help a n opposite sex individual. More so, the person attractiveness who is being helped can influence the willingness to help, particularly for male helpers. On the other hand, both women and men could ask for less help from a helper who is attractive of the cross gender. Read the full article

T H A N K Y O U! A Sincere thank you to you for your help with my Gender Stereotypes Survey! "Unexpected kindness is the most powerful, least costly, and most underrated agent of human change.” —Bob Kerrey This post is to say thank you, and also to wish you a fun and fabulous 2022. 🌈❤️ A note to those of you who took time out of your life to not only respond to the gender stereotype survey, but also to offer beautifully thought-out answers to my questions. I'm so grateful for your help. As I stated in the survey, my professional work has been primarily focussed on coaching and empowering women, and this brought me to where I am now, learning how we can empower and heal each other, men and women. What we are learning through this research, is that many of us want more than anything, to feel okay as a ‘human,’ rather than as a man or woman. How wonderful does it feel when we can take pride in ourselves as a human being rather than these stereotypical expectations and comparisons we are often faced with? As a gift of gratitude and appreciation, I want to offer each survey participant the opportunity to take my Values Discovery Workshop at zero cost to you. Living in alignment with your values is key to living a life of contentment. If you took this survey, please email me for this free workshop. [email protected] As soon as I receive your response, I’ll send over the assessment, and at that time we will set up an appointment for the 90 minute debrief. Please know this doesn’t obligate you to anything, it’s truly a fun assessment I want to offer in exchange for your time and input. Thank you again and I look forward to spending time looking at your values. I'm looking forward to many conversations around this topic. Sidenote: I did sent this out to each participant in my newsletter but as technology often does, it seemed to miss some people and not send properly. This method seems like the very best alternative. #coaching #stereotypes #friday #genderdifferences (at Saint Petersburg, Florida) https://www.instagram.com/p/CYbfaswu9wS/?utm_medium=tumblr

Women Really Do Like it Hot (or at least Warmer)

MedicalResearch.com Interview with: Tom Y. Chang PhD Associate Professor Finance and Business Economics Marshall School of Business University of Southern California MedicalResearch.com: What is the background for this study? What are the main findings? Response: There have been many studies showing that women prefer higher indoor temperatures than men, however nobody looked at the effect of temperature on performance. We show that the battle for the thermostat is not just about the comfort. It is much more – in our experiment, women’s cognitive functioning is the best at high temperatures, whereas men’s at low temperatures. Significantly, the positive effect of increased temperatures on women’s performance is much stronger than the negative effect on men. The most surprising was that the effect of temperature on women is so strong. For instance, at low temperatures, men outperform women in a simple math task. However, when we increase the temperature, women become better and better (1.76% increase of solved tasks with each 1 Celsius increase), and at high temperatures women and men perform on the same level – the gender difference disappears. MedicalResearch.com: What should readers take away from your report? Response: The message of the paper is straightforward. Women seem to have a better cognitive functioning at high temperatures and men at low temperatures. Each reader can use this as a take away and be more conscious about the ambient temperature when working – it might affect how well they will perform that day. As for employees and educational institutions – they can learn from this study that the battle for the thermostat is not just a complaint about comfort levels! One needs to take temperature more seriously because variations in indoor temperature can affect cognitive functioning. MedicalResearch.com: What recommendations do you have for future research as a result of this work? Response: This is just the first study looking at the effects of temperature on cognitive performance by gender. We ran the experiment with a homogeneous sample at a German university. More research looking at different groups (age, educational background, country) and different cognitive tasks is needed. Citation: Chang TY, Kajackaite A (2019) Battle for the thermostat: Gender and the effect of temperature on cognitive performance.
