Kon's fake wife and daughter are the current blorbos rotating on my mental rotisserie.

No, I do not care that 99% of fandom was salty about their existence.

They are currently dominating my fic draft. What was supposed to be a lil' flashback has completely taken over the chapter.

I recognize that they would be difficult for most people to tackle since that would require making some informed theorizing on what life is like on the Gemworld, but... most people are not me.

It's not quite how things work on Gemworld but it's comics and thus anything can and will happen but if Kon stayed there he could have become a magical girl in the literal sense.

There’s something about how Amethyst’s arm is replaced with gems that look like Flaw that’s so interesting. Part of it is how she’s being slowly replaced with Gemworld. Her soul is connected to the planet. Her vision there is replaced with magic. Her arm is gemstone.

But also, from Vol 3, we know that nothing that happens here actually sticks or is good. Child and Flaw come back, Mordru is created, Amy’s mom goes insane, the cycle is continued by a little girl being taken from her parents. Citrina’s plan, Amy’s destiny, it’s flawed. It fails. And costs Amy her life so that Amethyst can be a Lord of Order.

Hilarious pre-bed time thought:

Dark Opal thinks he’s a Superman villain, but he’s not. Like, in the opening of YJ:Gemworld, he’s clearly pissed at Supes and invaded a whole dimension about it, but Young Justice deals with him before Superman even hears about it.

He is, at most, a Superboy villain, but Kon’s beef with him is barely personal. Yeah, he was despot over the land Kon was living in, but Kon was living on a farm, largely out of the way of the worst of the villain’s bs. Kon is way angrier at the mad scientist responsible for stranding him on the Gemworld.

So what I’m picturing is Opal rising from his proverbial ashes and going to Earth to start shit, and he lucks out! He finds Superman!

Only for Superman to be very confused “I think I might remember fighting you once? Maybe?”

Only for Kon to interrupt and sucker punch the guy into the pavement bc he got a tip from Amethyst that somebody might have popped in from the Gemworld.
