The Big Finnish Music Project for International Kääryleet, part 6.

Go to part 1 for all the context. We pick up where part 5 left off, as the list is more or less in chronological order.

This is the last part before the bonus part, and this part takes us from 2015 to 2024.

Paleface

Could be called the godfather of Finnish hiphop. Paleface is like the OG of all OG's, but he was relatively underground for a long time. He made music in english at first, and was known but not massive. His first album in Finnish came out in 2015 and it was a massive success. It was also openly political and heavily critisising capitalism and the way the country was ran. This song is Talonomistaja, from that very album.

Antti Tuisku

Antti Tuisku rose to fame 2003 through Idols singing competition, but the reason he is in the 2010's section of the list is because the linked song, Peto on irti, really started a whole new era, arguably the most iconic era, in his career in 2015. Antti Tuisku got a lot of shit in the early 2000's for being the girls favourite and for "looking gay" and having "a gay vibe". He got so much hate, it was insane. But Peto on irti/En kommentoi album started his fuck you i'm doing me -era, that really exploded into a phenomenon in Finland, and is arguably also the era that Jere looks up to - the icnonic entertainer era of Antti Tuisku. Also the era of Auto jää, so, on this list, Antti Tuisku is a 2010's artist. So here is the song that kicked off this new gear, Peto on irti. Ironically enough, when Ville-Galle from JVG made a version of this song on a popular tv show, it quickly becme the goal song of the men's ice hockey team, so in a way, Antti Tuisku really got back at the toxic masculinity culture that always shit on him.

Teflon Brothers

A rap and dance trio, who made hit after hit after hit especially 2012-2019. Their hits are usually about drinking and partying or sex, so they definitely fall in the entertainment category with comedic elements that was at its peak in the 2010’s, but they’re not as obviously crass or wacky as the likes of Petri Nygård, and the members do more serious projects as well. The linked song is their 2015 hit Pämppää, which has definitely become a party classic.

Behm

Jere never shuts up about Behm, he drags Behm by the hand to Emma Awards stage with him, just Behm this Behm that, so if you guys haven't looked up her music by now, here is her first single, Hei rakas from 2019, just one click away. She is one of the most critically acclaimed and well regarded singer songwriters in Finland at the moment.

Portion Boys

Many of you know them, they pop up from time to time in the Käärijä world, and competed against him in UMK. They broke through in 2021 with their song Vauhti kiihtyy, which features Matti ja Teppo, an iconic iskelmä duo of brothers, who have been singing together for decades. Portion Boys are part of the scene that is making old iskelmä (Finnish schlager) music popular with the kids by adding a dance beat to it and their own lyrics to verses. Portion Boys songs are also often about partying, and they’re often full of innuendos as well. Their vibe is like entertainment and fun above all else. This is them performing Vauhti kiihtyy together with Matti ja Teppo in the Emma awards in 2022.

KUUMAA

I almost want to just tag every mutual i have who i know is into KUUMAA and just let them do this part, to really highlight the KUUMAA fever in Finland right now. They've risen to massive popularity and fame in quite a short amount of time, and many of you will also know them from UMK23. And also from the Käärijä boyfriend Pokedex and as one of his fave bands. Consult your nearest kuumblr member for more information on the actual music, you'll find them by shouting into the Käärijä tag. This is one of their bigger hits, Tulipalo from 2023, which as far as i know, has been on the Spotify top 50 list in Finland for some ridiculous amount of time, like a year straight or something.

Mirella

I put Mirella here because I know she is like the hottest name in Finnish pop music right now, but that is all i know about her, and i'm gonna keep it super real and leave it at that lmao. This is Timanttei from 2024.

Final thoughts at the end of part six:

Notice how so much of the full six part list is rock? How prevalent rock music and even metal music was in Finland 20 years ago, 30 years ago, 40 or even 50 years ago? Notice how all of the most globally successful Finnish artists are either rock or metal, with the occasional electronic music artist? Notice the gradual rise of rap music in the last 30 years? How many of the domestically big names are rap/hip hop? Well, throw all of that into a big pot, sprinkle in some of that humorous and comedic side of Finnish music, and what you get is basically Käärijä. It makes sense that what he does works so well, that he is so good at it, and that it grabbed Finnish people immediately, as soon as he made it on to a national platform. He is something new and different, something we haven’t quite seen before, yet still quintessentially Finnish.

And I'm almost tempted to start a similar list of all the Finnish comedy shows and memes he has ever referenced but it could actually end me if I attempted it because the list is endless, but we shall see. The man simply lives and breathes Finnish culture.

A/N: noting here that this fic takes place in 2005 when criminal minds starts and spencer is 24

It started out a simple equivocal death investigation. Seven women had been found in their apartments, dead with their wrists slashed. Unfortunately not an unusual occurrence, Detective Conner thought nothing of it. Upon trying to contact the employers of each victim, Conner found they all worked for the same people, and decided to mark them down for further investigation just in case. When the fourth victim was found in her father’s beach house just outside of Virginia, the case became federal and handed to the FBI.

The case, being low priority, was given to Derek Morgan to monitor the progress of. 

“You’re completely sure there’s nothing about the bodies that connect these victims?”

“Agent Morgan, if there was anything I would tell you. I think it’s time you tell Detective Conner to rule these deaths a suicide.”

“Alright, will do.” Derek hung up with the coroner. Just then his mobile phone rang with the number of the detective displayed on the top of the screen. Derek sighed.

“Agent Morgan.” He answered.

“Agent, there’s another victim-”

“Conner, listen, they aren’t connected, there is no signature unless you can consider the suicide, I think you oughtta-”

“She was called in by a friend. Not a family member, not an apartment manager, not a coworker, a real friend. Derek, he’s devolving.”

Derek sighed, “Detective, I’ll let you send her body over to the coroner but I doubt there will be anything remarkable.”

There was some mumbling on the other end of the line before Detective Conner gave a response.

“That’s the thing, Agent Morgan, this victim is remarkable. She had piercing holes in her ears just like the others.”

“And how is that remarkable?”

“Her ears weren’t pierced.”

“And you’re sure about that, Detective?”

“Her best friend swears it. Do you think they could be puncture marks?”

“I’m not sure, let me tell Doctor Phyllis.”

Derek set down his mobile phone and dialed the coroner on his office phone.

“Doctor Phyllis?”

“You back again so soon, Agent?”

“Look, we got a new victim, she's got puncture marks on her ears. Not piercings, puncture marks. Can you check the other victims to make sure they’re not puncture marks?”

“Okay, give me a minute.”

Derek heard the sound of doors opening.

“Well, shit, they are puncture marks. On every single ear.”

“Thanks, Doctor Phyllis.”

Derek hung up on the office phone.

“Do I still have you here, Detective?”

“Yep. Were they piercings?”

“Nope. Bring in the girl’s friend and call in the family members of the other victims. We’re gonna need to talk to them.”

Derek hung up the phone and ran up to Hotch’s office.

“Something up, Morgan?” Hotch asked.

“You know that case Detective Conner asked me to look into?”

“The one with the suicides?”

“Yeah, well they might not be suicides. I’m having Conner bring in some people to ask them some questions. You mind if I ask Rossi and Prentiss to help?”

“Of course not, but if we get another case then leave the questioning for Detective Conner, alright?”

“Gotcha, boss.”

Derek gathered Rossi, Prentiss, and Penelope in the break room to discuss the case.

“Babygirl, you want to read out the profiles of our victims?”

“Reluctantly,” Penelope pulled up each of the files onto her laptop. “Danica Wilson, a 45 year old woman, was found by her landlord. She grew up in Victoria, Canada, but when she was 12, her parents got a divorce. Her mother moved her and her three siblings to North Dakota shortly after. All throughout highschool she seemed immensely interested in biology and chemistry. She was really good at it too, she took AP classes and she was a promising student. Unfortunately, her mom didn’t want her to do anything of the sort, and set her up for ballet classes her junior year. To appease her mom she studied the history of dance during college and ended up climbing up from an intern at a dance company all the way to a choreographer. Her love for science was still there the whole way through though, she’s been taking free college courses online for biology for about a year. She was found with her wrists slashed and spread out in a star shape on the middle of her bed. There were no fingerprints anywhere in her home and the slashes appeared to be self inflicted. Her mom died a week before she was found, all of her siblings live in other states, and she didn't have any close friends. She never dated, even though she had perfect brown eyes and blonde hair. According to her siblings she had all of the boys at her school after her. Despite there being no evidence of depression or other mental illness officers deemed her mothers death as a stressor and marked her death a suicide.”

“Then we have Maya Peto, 22 years old, found by her sister.”

“So there’s no age preference?” Rossi asked.

“Precisely,” Penelope continued, “She grew up in Detroit. Her parents raised her in a Christian household and shes been openly gay since she was 18. Her dad died when she was 14, leaving Maya and one sister to be raised by their mother. She did exceptionally well in math, but seemed to have no interest in pursuing it as a career. Instead, she became captain of her dance team in highschool and went to Wirtson’s Dance Academy for college. Her last year there, she was picked by Next Star Theatre Company, the same one as all of the other victims, to be on their ballet team. She was found just like Danica, and would be just like the rest of the victims. Her now ex-girlfriend and her had a kid, his name is Gene, he’s a year old, and Maya had full custody of him because Khloe, the girlfriend, had begun doing drugs about a week after Gene was born. How could lesbians have a child? Khloe was cheating. Maya gained full custody of Gene after a year long legal battle, and she had left him with her sister for a weekend while she baby proofed her house. Unfortunately, when she went to Maya’s apartment to return Gene, she found her dead. It was the anniversary of her father’s death when she was found, so the ever so ignorant officers deemed it another suicide.

“Then we have Annie Carr, 24. A coworker found her. Born here in Virginia, Annie was raised by her dad after her mom died when she was about one. She seemed to have a pretty awesome life. Her dad worked two jobs and she’s never had all that much money, but she was a happy kid. She went to a community college and ended up taking the same internship that Danica Wilson took, but she has stayed in that internship for years, mooching money off of her dad and siblings. Mabel Golden, the coworker that found her, claims that there’s no way Annie could’ve killed herself. She didn’t show any signs of depression or mental illness, though she could be pessimistic at times. Mabel said their boss was threatening to let her go, seeing as she hasn’t improved her work ethic in the last five years. Deemed another suicide.

“The fourth victim was Valentine Orange, 36, found by her father. She grew up in Maryland, started acting and dancing at six, her family was pretty wealthy, and she got accepted into the same dance academy and theatre company as Maya Peto. She also danced on the same ballet team. She told her team leader she was going away for a week to her father’s beach house, and when her father came to get her on the day she was supposed to leave, he found her in the guest bedroom, just like the other victims. The beach house was located in Maryland, and due to Detective Cooper’s hunch, the case got handed to us for an equivocal death investigation.

“Francis Falstaff, our fifth victim, was found by her adoptive mother. She was 22. Both of her parents died in a car crash a month after she was born, so she grew up in a multitude of foster homes. When she was ten her and her sister were adopted by Baron Falstaff and Maggie Falstaff. They seemed to be good parents. They went to all of their school events and paid for both of the girls’ college tuition. Francis was trying to make it into the same theatre company that employed the rest of the victims, specifically to work as a jazz dancer. She seemed to have killed herself, just like the rest of the victims, but her mom insists that she couldn’t have. She had a very promising life ahead of her. When they dissected her room they found an evidence board in the back of her closet. Her sister, Yvette, was stabbed to death a couple years back on the way to a party, and Francis was obsessed with finding the killer. Which is why she didn’t have many friends. When it was all processed, they found that the evidence led to Yvette’s boyfriend at the time. It was assumed that this weighed heavily enough on Francis that she ended up, well you know, on the same day she found out.

“Jane Sweeney, the second to last victim who worked on the Next Star Theatre Company ballet team, was 29. She’s been with the company since she was 20, and unfortunately her private teacher was the one who found her. Her father left when she was young. She liked expressing all of her success, almost narcissistically so. According to some other people on the dance team she was the best dancer and loved flaunting it. She was a kind of queen bee and seemed to value herself more than others most of the time. It just doesn’t make sense for her to kill herself.

“Lillian Bonner was the next victim. She was 54. She taught modern dance at the company. She lived with and was found by her only son, Tyrell, who she had with her husband Ivan. Though they were still legally married, the two were separated. Tyrell, who’s 16, said she was a fantastic mom. She always made sure he was fed and had someone to talk to. He told her practically everything about his life and he is having a really difficult time without her. He doesn’t believe that she would do that to herself.

“Our last victim was Camille Price. She was 25. Her best friend, Spencer Reid, who was on the same ballet team, found her. She was the only one who really had people around her. She grew up in Virginia with her parents and two brothers, one older, one younger. She visited them whenever she could. Everyone in her apartment building loved her, she even made dinner for one of the elderly occupants every Friday. Spencer doubts there is anything that would want to make her commit suicide, and to put the icing on the cake, there were puncture marks on her ears that police mistook for piercings. ‘What were they?’ you ask? Injection sites. How do we know this? Spencer swore that there was no way they could be piercings because Camille never wore earrings the entire 8 years he knew her because the Next Star Theatre Company does not allow their dancers to wear piercings or jewelry.”

“Alright, let’s go see if these people got any info for us.” Rossi got out of his seat and headed towards the interview rooms.

Una noche en la casa de Hayame y Hayato

Hayame: -se levanta de su cama con dolor de cabeza- urrrg mi cabeza... No debimos tomar ese sake anoche. -sale de su habitación y camina por el pasillo hasta que ve la puerta de la habitación de Hayato abierta. Huh? -w-? ¿Me pregunto cómo estará Hayato después de lo de anoche? -decide dar una miradita cuando ve a Hayato dormido sobre su escritorio-

Hayame: aww que tierno... -se acerca a Hayato y ve que hay una carta escrita junto a el- y esto? -acerca su mano a la carta con cuidado para no despertar a Hayato- veamos que escribió mi hermano estando ebrio -se pone a leer la carta-

En la carta se entendía

"Querid julio... peddon si io no te he visto dezde la última vez... quería decidte que.. te wuiero, te diero mutho... Y wiero salid contigo orra vez.. peddio si yo no he diggo en cara peto tengo mrllo de que Hayame me oddie...así que te lo dito en eta carda con mucho smor Hayato❤❤❤"

Hayame:...... -se pone a tratar de entender la carta-.....

-un rato después-

Hayame: (pero queeee!!! Si no me equivoco dijo que ama a un tal julio... así que eso significa que mi hermano es gay!!!) O◻O (OMG!!! OMG!! ... ¿Porque no me lo dijo?....) -ve de nuevo la carta-... -suspira- (este Hayato ÓuÒ) -toma lápiz y papel- (tendré que darle un empujoncito jeje ^^) -se pone a escribir una carta de amor en el papel- pongo esto y lo otro, le cambió un poquito y... listo :D -pone la carta en un sobre y escribe el nombre de julio en palabras grandes más unos corazoncitos- bien... ahora la cosa es.. ¿Dónde vive julio?... ya se -corre hacia la habitación de soul- oye soul!!!

Soul: -flotando en el techo- ¿que quieres? --

Hayame: ¿Podrías llevarle esta carta a julio?

Soul: ¿Porque yo?

Hayame: tu sabes de esta cosas de viajes

Soul: ¿Sabes que existen millones de personas llamadas julio en el mundo?

Hayame: es el que salió con mi hermano la otra vez

Soul: ahh ese julio,... -suspira- bueno.. lo haré -toma la carta- entonces... descubriste que Hayato es gay

Hayame: gasp! Lo sabías!? >>:v

Soul: todos lo sabían ¿No era muy obvio? --'' bueno me iré, pero no me haré responsable de lo que pase después

Hayame: oki QwQ (¿realmente era tan obvio?)

Soul: vale -se va atravesando la casa-

Soul: -llega a la casa de julio- veamos... Si mi fuente no se equivoca es aquí. -se acerca a la puerta y deja la carta en la entrada- listo, para asegurarme -toca el timbre repetidas veces y luego se va-

I want to know why people think kids should be protected? I don't mean protecting them physically or from being messed with by peto's on the internet what I mean is why is it wrong for a child to date has to be tracked it won't it won't harm anyone as far as I know something that child's data to company won't hurt anything I don't know all the details but if you ask me how cuz I shouldn't really exist it's not the internet's job to protect your children that's your job now I will say this the only sites that should be preventing children or protecting them or websites that are x-rated and by x-raided do you know what I I mean, those websites. You know the ones the ones that you sneak a peek at because either you're not allowed to look at them or because you're afraid of what someone might think. So those are the only ones that you prevent children from accessing them actively if a child sees that that is dangerous for a lot of reasons and I never understood why children looking at that was bad it's no I'm not an idiot but I did discover why it's bad, I found out that if you let a child that kind of stuff it could damage their psyche and also apparently caused them to be disturbed I'm not sure how do not answer that question unless you are trained psychologist or at the very least studying to be a psychologist because I don't want people's opinions up it's immoral it's wrong I want an actual psychological engine for that one because I never understood it until recently because at first I said oh who cares it won't hurt but then I realized it is homefull because it's technically I guess I'm not sure because I don't know all the details and there's something that we call Wanda taunt in sentence without call wrong that all wrong I eat gun violence is perfectly acceptable but heaven forbid gay people walk the streets or another example gun violence is acceptable but heaven forbid it a Muslim walk the streets do you see my point, do you understand why I'm confused? SEXUAL

Tengo la edad de Cristo, soy macho y ayer me vino la regla. Con tanto patriarcado y tanto abuso sexual, estoy en uno de mis días. Soy más sensible que muchas féminas y no creo en los sexos. La mujer ya sale de la cocina y no le cae ninguna ostia. El hombre cuida de la prole y plancha silbando, hasta se hace las camisas.

Transexual, intersexual, asexual, sapiosexual, metrosexual, hipersexual, bisexual, homosexual, heterosexual y monitor de gimnasio, perdón, qué lío! Esto último es de otro texto...Me pongo las gallumbos y me cubro el manubrio. Tenso los pectorales mientras me miro al espejo. Así, a primera vista, tengo mi rollo, yo me daba a mi mismo.

Saco la cuchilla y me depilo. Me quito mi capa de Gore-Tex y me quedo como mi madre me trajo al mundo, depilación integral, se llama. Hace unas décadas esto era impensable, gay, me dirían algunas veces y maricón, otras tantas. Hoy es el pan de cada día, yo no lo hago para estar buenorro, sino porque sudo como un cabrón. Antes, mi especialidad era dibujar la Península Ibérica y las Islas Baleares en mi camiseta, hasta aparecía el Guadiana. Hoy la cosa ha cambiado sustancialmente y sólo me salen las Islas Canarias.

Me rasuro mi barba vikinga y me pongo el tinte, rubio platino. Me compro el Lecturas y la Pronto, para sentirme en casa como en la peluquería. Se acaba el tiempo y cuando me aclaro la cresta, estoy que lo peto, parezco venido del Estocolmo profundo. Me pongo mis pantalones de colores y saco mi abanico. Si pega la flama en el metro, lo mejor es tirar de recursos. Prefiero ser un miembro más de Locomía que volver a mis orígenes, con la Península Ibérica y las Islas Baleares.

En estos tiempos, la imagen es primordial. Al final consigo escoger uno de mis selfies después de cincuenta intentos, de dejarme el cuello, coordinar toda la escenografía de Broadway y tirar la foto en un ángulo inverosímil. No soy de marcar paquetorro ni de ponerme camisetas dos tallas más pequeñas, pero cuando la emergencia aprieta, pues aprieta, y para lo demás Instagram. Hay algunos que chillan a las mujeres en la calle y hay chiquillas que se tapan la cara con las tetas.

El culto al cuerpo y lo sexual impregna nuestro día a día y no es casualidad que la gente grite en el gimnasio como si no hubiera un mañana mientras se miran al espejo y levan peso. Hay marcas que venden con Lolitas y con tanto runner ¿a dónde queremos llegar? Es bueno correr pero pegarse una maratón un día sí y al otro también, pues: 'Permíteme dudarlo!' Así que un poco de relax, por favor. Todo se lleva al extremo y cuando nos hemos querido dar cuenta resulta que a uno de los Weinstein le gustaba y le gusta refregar cebolleta con sus musas.

Los escándalos sexuales llenan las portadas y parece que para ciertos artistas, como Woody Allen y Roman Polanski, hay inmunidad. Por mí, que los metan en una celda de aislamiento. Soy feminista en potencia, la mujer tiene que luchar contra tantos prejuicios y nosotros, por el simple hecho de tener paquete, lo tenemos todo hecho. También debo decir que hablar sólo en el femenino del plural no es lo mío. Negar al sexo opuesto y otras opciones es violento, no tener en cuenta la diversidad.

En nuestro entorno, tan sexual, todo es tan difuso y confuso, que resulta que muchos se hacían pajillas mientras las mujeres de su entorno le enseñaban pechuga y/o conejo. Más de uno ya está pagando las consecuencias de sus actos. Y resulta que no sólo es una cosa de heteros, es un cáncer que se extiende por todo el mundo, y, si no, que se lo digan a Kevin Spacey. Por suerte, dicen que las cosas están cambiando: '¡Permíteme dudarlo!' Así que un poco de relax, por favor.
