i think a crucial aspect of the codebreakers dynamic that is sometimes overlooked is how likewise enamoured phil is with étoiles . like étoiles is the god of praising and hyping people up so people tend to focus on how much étoiles thinks phil is the coolest guy ever but do not forget that phil also thinks étoiles is the coolest fucking guy to ever guy he will never pass up an opportunity to talk about how cool and strong and funny étoiles is . their relationship is built on their mutual ‘WOW this guy is awesome’ feelings for one another and it is amazing

Can I say something. I don’t think any mlvn kiss has been… super dramatic? Like not their first one certainly. Like they were in a school cafeteria and El asked if they would be like siblings. And then mike kinda just kissed her. I think if you removed the score in the bg it would be more anti climactic than it already was.

Like I think ppl are forgetting how mlvn actually happened. Their entire relationship felt kinda juvenile in the grand scheme of things. The most dramatic thing that happened was Mike’s love confession. I think Mike has more of a “acts at the very last minute” problem.

The jopper and jancy kisses were very dramatic, passionate, a moment that made the viewers go “FINALLY.” To say that a byler kiss NEEDS to be soft and low stakes or it would be “too much like mlvn” is so weird and honestly completely untrue imo. And I personally am someone who would prefer a more soft confession/kiss scene.

this is like nothing new but i still think it's very very fun from a purely 4th wall perspective with no in show like nuance orrrr character interpretations or anything added WHAT HAPPENED WAS. the duffers wrote robin as a love interest FOR steve to BE a love interest and not actually just a very good friend that he needed to have and he went as far as to go on this entire little rant about how much Not His Type she is to really drive it in oh she's HYPER she's in BAND she does DRAMA not a good look!!! not my type!!! she's just some alternative freak weirdo who doesn't even like me!!!!

and then maya and joe were like Have you guys heard of lesbianism and yeah that changed. but then we have this solid basis of what this perfect ultimate love interest for steve was supposed to be FROM A WRITING STANDPOINT!!! and they introduce a character who meets all these traits in season 4 oh me oh my i wonder who it could be.... it's just interesting

but then to add back the character interp bc i will Die if i don't clarify that i think steve has this very funny habit of many people entering his life who are incredibly different from who he is and he loves them A Lot and him loving the traits he loves in robin the person i would say he is closest to in Other people is also a really cute basis for me. to go of course he wants to carry eddie over every threshold they go through. and that you can admire and love traits in people without romantic love being The Ultimate Goal friendship is equally important and in some cases even more so etc etc
