I’ve been seeing a lot of people shit on straight couples in shipping and in general as a "joke" lately, particularly in the Dungeon Meshi fandom. Friendly reminder that, besides the evil straights, when you mock or put down straight couples for being straight/"not queer enough", you also make bi and pan people, and trans and ace people who experience hetero attraction feel unwelcome and lesser. Negativity hurts, love is love, happy valentine’s!

I’m confused: what’s this argument about Raeda being married?

It's a LONG story, those who are tired of hearing about it should just scroll pass this

A lot fans were hoping the series would end with Raeda being married due to a joke someone on the crew made about the show ending with a wedding.

Also because of this interaction Dana had with an animator after Eda's Requiem came out

People thought this either meant Raeda would die in the end or be okay and get married (because of the joke previously mentioned)

They didn't ofc.

But shortly after the finale the crew did a livestream where they answer questions. Someone asked if Raeda was married in the Epilogue

Dana wouldn't answer ("Eda and Raine's business is their own business") but then also went on about how "Not all love stories end in marriage. Some begin at marriage, some continue after marriage, and some don't get married at all".

So people took this to mean it's confirmed they DON'T get married and parroted that throughout the fandom.

Suddenly everyone did a 180 and decided Raeda not wanted to get married is actually super revolutionary and shamed those who still wanted Raeda to get married/upset they weren't

And of course ignoring any actual criticism like that them not liking marriage was nevera point in the show and people wanted them to have gotten married offscreen in the first place because they're was never any real conclusion after everything they went through.

(You don't see fans complaining a couple Bubbline aren't married because even though their relationship went through a lot of bad things like Raeda. You actually saw their relationship development and grow, they werent just constantly being put through hell for no reason, and they actually had a resolution.)

hot take ✋ but i don't think jake has religious trauma, i don't think his family was religious at all. I think he had a father who wasn’t happy with his life and made it known but he never put a hand on any member of his family. His mama loves him for who he is and sure it took her a while to understand jake but shes always loved him and always will and shes willing to change for the things he can’t change.
