What an ass kicking run this was! That road up to the Peak was more that 60 degrees! My quads were torched coming down that hill and I still had another 5.5 miles back to the Trailhead including more downhill from #bellpass . I went out for a nice cruise on my #jamisearthcruiser today and was jamming out to some #factionpunkradio and ended up following the #scottsdalegreenbelt as far as I could. Feeling good, I rode to #gatewaytrailhead for water and headed back. 5 miles from home, my rear cassette kept going out and I couldn’t peddle! I was able to get it to engage but had to peddle nonstop. That was brutal. I’m getting stronger in my runs and I’m not having any recovery soreness at all. My goal has been to hit a 20 miler in 4 hours or less before I take on the 50K. I want to be able to finish strong, not suffer just so I can say I did it. I want to be the best that I can be. My elevation training is really paying off and I’m getting my diet really dialed in with no meat.
