Gat presses himself against his mother as she bundles the sage into smudge sticks. He closes his eyes as she stops and runs her fingers through his hair, face pressed against her hip.

As more moments pass, he picks up more scents: juniper, sweetgrass, clover, beeswax, blueberry, cloves, nutmeg, and so much more…

He listens to her voice as she starts to speak.

The bright warmth of candles scented by herbs that both of them had picked together.

“Tomorrow —,” she says, “— The chief wants to speak to you.”

Gatty Nenehawk hums in assent and hugs her tighter.

Theme Song Performers Revealed For Saiyuki Reload -ZEROIN- Anime

  The official website for the forthcoming Saiyuki anime adaptation Saiyuki Reload -ZEROIN- has confirmed the opening and ending theme song performers for the latest anime adaptation of the Saiyuki manga authored by Kazuya Minekura. The opening theme "Kamino Hotokemo" will be performed by GRANRODEO and Shugo Nakamura will perform the ending theme song "Ruten."

  The anime, which will premiere in January 2022 in Japan and adapt the "Even a Worm" arc of the long-running manga, will reunite long-time Saiyuki anime cast members Toshihiko Seki as Genjo Sanzo, Sōichiro Hoshi as Son Goku, Hiroaki Hirata as Sha Gojyo and Akira Ishida as Cho Hakkai with new arc-specific cast members Kouichi Toochika as Hazel Grouse, Rikiya Koyama as Gatti "Gat" Nenehawk, and Houchu Ohtsuka as Ni Jianyi.

I just realized shinigami Kanan au opens up a ton of possibilities. Shinigami Shuuei who becomes best bros with Terazuma. Shinigami Gat who spends his time sitting in comfortable silence with Hisoka. Shinigami Koumyou, Yuma & Saya’s new dress-up doll. 8D good times for everyone!

Saiyuki Reload -ZEROIN- TV Anime Confirms Its January 2022 Premiere

    The official website for Saiyuki Reload -ZEROIN-, the forthcoming latest TV anime adaptation of Kazuya Minekura's fantasy action manga Saiyuki, has confirmed it its set to premiere in Japan in January of 2022. It will be based on the manga's popular "Even a Worm" story arc.

  The manga boldly arranged based on the motif of the Chinese classic fantasy novel Journey to the West has printed over 25 million copies in total since its launch in 1997. In addition to the past four TV anime series, it has also developed a wide variety of media such as OVAs, theatrical films, and musicals. Its strong popularity has never waned over the past 25 years.

  The four main voice cast members from the past anime series — Toshihiko Seki as Genjo Sanzo, Soichiro Hoshi as Son Goku, Hiroaki Hirata as Sha Gojyo, and Akira Ishida as Cho Hakkai — are confirmed to reprise their roles in ZEROIN.

  And three more members have been announced - Koichi Tochika as Hazel Grouse, the bishop from the west, who is the most important character in the "Even a Worm" arc, Rikiya Koyama as Gatti "Gat" Nenehawk, who is working with Hazel, and Hochu Otsuka as Ni Jianyi, a scientist on the side of Gyumaoh, who was also once a Sanzo priest, Ukoku Sanzo.
