So, I feel like a lot of you are here for my UTMV and Dad Noot stuff. But if you take a quick look around you may notice some Soriel. Well. I have multiple chapter fics that are soriel related that I am still picking away at as the mood strikes me. And this one is Gaster Blaster AU related, which is like... my favorite AU. There is seriously not enough GBAU love. I think, next to The Door, this one is near and dear to my heart.

For those of you who know this, here's a chapter summary: Toriel meets up with an old friend on her way back.

Gasterblaster transformation: a summary.

On second thought, this one will be filed under UA. It must be verified whether this possibility applies to the default "Undertale" timeline, or Alpha Timeline. If it does, it is an AT. If it does not, it is an AU.

Sans and Papyrus have a unique type of magic bullet, more like a cannon, called a Gaster Blaster. They take the shape of dragon skulls with breaths that inflict the most "KR" per attack.

Variants have different suggestions for why exactly this happens or when, but there are iterations in which Sans and/or Papyrus can not only use Gaster Blasters, but become Gaster Blasters.

In many, it comes at a cost. There are variants where it is natural for them and happens voluntarily, but in others where these forms are due to experimental "enhancements" and symptomatic of magic instability, the transformation can be painful and there is a risk that they will be feral until they revert or alleviate overcharge.

In the case of this UA, the problem with distinguishing these iterations as ATs or AUs is that when the last royal scientist fell, his existence... scattered. His past within reality and his future outside reality both fanned out, so every probable timeline he could have had leading up to the incident all converged. Which, in a sense, canceled them all out. So it may be impossible to discern the first true version of his life from all the other versions.

Meaning, anything consequential of him... has also been obscured.
