Aproveite o confinamento pra pensar

Eu moro em Portugal, para quem for ler isso no futuro, é importante contextualizar que 2021 (ainda) é um ano de pandemia do coronavírus e neste momento (7 de março) estamos no nosso segundo grande lockdown (desde de janeiro). Tenho aulas por um total de 5h por semana e passo os dias sozinha, então já podem imaginar que eu, e acho que todo mundo, pensamos muito sobre tudo nesse período de reclusão. Esse até foi mais um dos motivos que me fez escrever nessa página. Bom, isso tudo pra dizer que talvez eu esteja pensado demais, talvez só esteja pensando sobre coisas que antes não vinham pela cabeça ou que ignorávamos por completo e é o que eu pretendo compartilhar um pouquinho hoje. Ontem eu vi uma palestra do Gary Yourofsky, um ativista que luta pelos direitos dos animais desde quando não se falava muito disso. Ele faz comparações com o a nossa realidade humana, para fazer com que as pessoas percebam as atrocidades que são feitas com os animais por culpa exclusivamente nossa, seres humano. Pode ser que tudo o que eu esteja falando aqui seja um absurdo pra você e por isso eu deixo as explicações com quem melhor o faz, Gary. Meu projeto final da faculdade é sobre o turismo de vida selvagem e muitos dos materiais que eu tenho consultado me deixam ainda mais frustrada e confusa sobre como fazer diferente, e só há uma resposta pra isso: Educação. Enquanto as nossas ações, desde comer carne, consumir laticínios até fazer um "passeio" de elefante, não forem repreendidas e ensinadas que são erradas, vamos continuar fazendo, porque foi isso que nos foi ensinado, que nós temos mais direitos que os animais (o famoso especismo, mas isso é assunto pra outro post), que somos mais importantes que eles, que tudo bem ter cachorro e gato em casa e comer porco, galinha, vaca (...) no jantar. E se você se pergunta "Por que é errado?" então pensa bem, você gostaria de nascer tendo o dia da sua morte marcado e passando a sua curta vida sofrendo abusos? Gostaria de ser tirado da sua casa a força e passar a vida preso, a fazer o que te obrigam? O veganismo é sobre empatia, se colocar no lugar da vítima. Como você, mulher, se sentiria se fosse estuprada todos os anos para ter um filho? As vacas passam por isso (até serem velhas de mais e irem para o abate da mesma forma), porque a final de contas, o leite delas é como o nosso, só se produz quando há um filhote envolvido. Como você, mãe, se sentiria se seu filho recém nascido fosse arrancado de você? As vacas passam por isso para você ter leite na geladeira, e a cada copo que você consome, um bezerro não. Como você, homem, se sentiria se amarrassem seus testículos e te soltassem numa arena com alguém sentado nas suas cosas? Os cavalos e bois de rodeio passam por isso. Os exemplos são infinitos, mas cabe a você perceber que não gostaria de estar na pele de nenhum animal por culpa das suas próprias decisões. Como sempre me disse meu pai "não faça com os outros o que você não gostaria que fizessem com você". Aproveite o confinamento pra pensar a respeito.
