One of my favorite Seinfeld episodes is "The Opposite", the 22nd and final episode of the fifth season of the NBC sitcom Seinfeld where George did the opposite to get the blond girl. ( A blonde looks at George ) Elaine : Ah, George, you know, that woman just looked at you. George : So what? What am I supposed to do? Elaine : Go talk to her. George : Elaine, bald men, with no jobs, and no money, who live with their parents, don't approach strange women. Jerry : Well here's your chance to try the opposite. Instead of tuna salad and being intimidated by women, chicken salad and going right up to them. George : Yeah, I should do the opposite, I should. Jerry : If every instinct you have is wrong, then the opposite would have to be right. George : Yes, I will do the opposite. I used to sit here and do nothing, and regret it for the rest of the day, so now I will do the opposite, and I will do something! ( He goes over to the woman ) George : Excuse me, I couldn't help but notice that you were looking in my direction. Victoria : Oh, yes I was, you just ordered the same exact lunch as me. ( G takes a deep breath ) George : My name is George. I'm unemployed and I live with my parents. Victoria : I'm Victoria. Hi. Seinfeld's "The Opposite" - 22nd episode of 5th season There's a lot to unpack from this short conversation George has with his friends and the blond girl. This reminds me a lot of what's going on in the sales & marketing world of entrepreneurs. In the name of boosting sales, you run digital ads from Big Tech such as Facebook and Google In the name of boosting sales, you spend countless hours creating "content" to feed Youtube and Tiktok algorithms so that the AI bot can reward you with more traffic & engagements. In the name of boosting sales, you are lurking around social media to go live daily to "teach" because you want to "add values" for free. In the name of boosting sales, you hustle like there's no tomorrow because your influencer Gary Vee is hustling or Elon Musk is clocking in 120 hours/week. If any of the mentioned above works for you and you can go on vacation without checking your phone, I am happy for you. Otherwise, you may want to pay attention to what I am describing below. To honor George Constanza's "Opposite" strategy, I am not going to share any of the marketing tactics you already heard of. Today, I want to share something called Blockchain Stimulus which almost nobody knows and talks about. What is “Blockchain Stimulus”? It’s new-found money locked in the blockchain earning interest daily so that the interest will be distributed to qualified business owners in the form of daily lottery prizes (ranging from 50 cents — $500) With over 662 daily prizes, someone has to win ….that could be you or your customers. Currently, the total amount of stimulus to hand out is a whooping $42,464,649 waiting for qualified business owners to claim. Update 01/19/2023: the stimulus went down almost 3 million since I created the banner ad. That's understandable when the blockchain stimulus fund keeps sending out free money to qualified business owners. How does the “Blockchain Stimulus” help me boost sales the “Opposite-way”? First, you can leverage free money from the blockchain stimulus to attract your customers from buying more from your product/service (more kaching for you!) …in exchange for you to put them into a DAILY drawing to win prizes …WITHOUT you + your customers putting down a dime for the prize. Wait a sec! Wut! "Who pays for the prize?" you asked. "The blockchain stimulus," I said. "Where is the prize money coming from?" you asked "Prize money is paid by the interest earned from the deposit of $42,464,649 from private investors around the world". "What's my damage?" you asked "Tiny fee paid to uSpenduWin app to help you tap into the blockchain stimulus and manage the DAILY drawing and prize distributions to your customers"
Words of caution: THIS IS NOT A GET-RICH-QUICK SCHEME. Your customers will never become filthy rich from winning because the prizes are so tiny ranging from 50 cents — $500 per day. Ready to do the "Opposite" than others, check out uSpenduWin.com https://michaelnguyen.me/the-george-constanza-theory-of-opposite/?feed_id=193&_unique_id=63c8e06b0f841

HUSTLE Is Investing When You Have NO MONEY – Gary Vaynerchuk 2018 | Motivational Speech hey Gary good afternoon good afternoon I'm Holly and I'm one of these old women in the room okay over 50 respect you look great thank you and reinventing I launched my sword out good for you and what would be the biggest piece of advice about reinventing cuz I've been here I've done it helped to that lot successfully they're doing well good on to the third yep Healthcare okay well what are you trying to accomplish reinvent when you say we embed yourself try to get street cred and notoriety and like yeah I've always played the field of personal finance I say the considered one of Canada's leading personal finance writers so here's what I would say and this you know I went through this when I kind of transitioned from wine to like more business content I didn't think a lot about established myself I thought a lot about doing investing in Facebook and Twitter and Tumblr early on building vaynermedia from zero to 200 million that was my reinvent it don't worry about what the fuck they think go and execute a successful launch and then you will be that it's the same thing with names do you know many people here fucking spend weeks coming up with their company name like - years I pick a month yeah that's a dumb fucking move here's why name's army you think McDonough Tim fucking Hortons is a great name names are made Google's not a great name snapchats not a great name these are just they become great names because of the actions not because the me Gary fucking V with too silent ease or he's fucking so make it the execution don't worry about establishing yourself the results always fucking speak let's take one from this side of the room yeah hey Gary how you doing my name is Sheldon Bruce from two-line music art and I've been following you about the past year Thank You Shelly you definitely changed my life that's last week I got my first three thousand dollar check because of you thank you alright what I want to ask you is what is your take on hustle versus investor I believe in both I don't think they're conflicting right I think Hustle is investing when you don't have money okay like your money or your time like you know and so like I think that both are essential I love investing financially I love investing in people I love investing in my audience which is why I put out my concept for free right I think investing is just smart it feels good and more importantly shot I started this talk with it which is unless like look I leave a lot of economics on the table every year now if I die tomorrow from a business standpoint I left something on the table but for the most part if I don't it will pay its dividends over the course of a 50-year career I show that you and every single person here has never met anybody who's been successful without them working hard and hustling you may know somebody who has a lot of money right that they were given that money but nobody here has achieved without a lot of hard work hard work is a prerequisite like yes the smarter you work the bigger the upside talent matters but to me Hustle is oxygen because it's the one piece of advice I can give to every single person here and it doesn't matter how good smart or clever or what they see is it is a variable of success so I'll big believer both those thank you thank you thank you be on my podcast all right a hundred percent done I'll do it Thank You Jerry this is crazy my birthday right now and I didn't thank you I don't know if I were talking 41st birthday no 23 it's actually on Thursday thanks on thank you to all the gens the Jensen was out here too for a kind of Nick Deborah Ella but I'm just I just wanted to ask you a quick question I so I just partnered up with my buddy we're doing a hockey apparel company called justice and hockey were based out of Buffalo New York okay my question to you is so we're big on or big on for online shopping right now of course my question for you is how can we increase our conversion rates well have better product okay I mean that's you know a lot of people don't think about that right because they only think about you know conversion rate has a lot to do with what's happening once they're there right right so either your landing page your UI your UX the copy the images are not grabbing people right the other way you can do it is by building brand right so there's sales and brand but these get into the like finite details I would scrutinize very heavily the shopping cart experience where the drop-off is this is all math you know like where where the buttons are have your baby tested the color of the Add to Cart button a lot of technical stuff and then comma are you building brand because people convert better when they trust will feel emotion so if they've heard of you on Instagram or on a podcast or things of that nature they'll feel more confidence once they get to that moment of truth so it's about black and white technical nuances of a website you know mobile optimization things of that nature and number two really are you establishing a brand that becomes trusted or loved Gary how do you balance between the you know not getting too stuck in the my new details of the green or red button like where's the balance between the data and then playing off the emotion for me I don't get stuff because if you become too mapped out you become commoditized there's a lot of people here and they're great at math they believe only in analytics and quant and it gets them to a certain place because it's an absolute strength but it's also the same reason they tap out cuz the math always plays out if math was the variable the game would be over by now the art matters so incredible and so for me I intuitively understand the art quite well and I surround myself with the biggest fucking nerds I could find on the map those are two variables you have hey just one more question so fast can I give you my business card sure you wanna loosen up I won't look at it that way what's that I will definitely throw out your business card at the airport okay that's fine but you can tweet me and be like I'm the 23 year old birthday boy who's got the website and that gives you a 13% chance I'll look at

Marketing Trends You Need to Know in 2020
With the New Year here, it's time to prepare for the upcoming marketing trends of 2020.
Modern technology is growing and evolving. There are new techniques, constant updates and changes to algorithms. Being aware of these trends is key when looking at your businesses' marketing strategy for 2020.
With a brand-new decade approaching, here are some of the top marketing trends to be prepared for in 2020.
1. Content is King
As Gary Vee always says, content is king. With 2020 approaching, that fact stands. High-quality content such as blog posts, infographics, YouTube videos and more allows you to showcase your expertise to not only connect with your target audience, but also build trust. The more interactive the content, the more it is shared, which creates awareness of your brand. Some examples of interactive content include polls, quizzes, shoppable posts and 360 videos.
In addition to those benefits, content is also what helps boost your SEO; search engines provide searchers online with high-quality content. Content tends to keep visitors on your page longer. Content is King, and always will be.
2. The ‘Shop Now’ Feature
Shoppable posts have become an integral part of online marketing. The number of users shopping on social media has grown drastically and this number is only increasing. According to Forbes, 72% of Instagram users have purchased a product using the app. In addition to this number, more than 4,000 Pinterest users found that 70% use Pinterest to find new and interesting products.
These platforms have made it easier for business owners to reach their target audience through creation of shoppable posts, simplifying the process for users to shop directly from your post.
3. Taking it to a Personal Level
Personalized marketing is overpowering traditional advertising. Viewers like to connect with a personality, infact, according to Forbes, in a survey of 1,000 people, 90% of people said they found personalization appealing. 80% of people admitted they'd be more likely to give their business to a company that offered them a personalized experience.
In addition to this all, personal email blasts perform better than generic emails to an entire list. Take note business owners!
4. Video Content is Killing it
90% of consumers watch video on their mobile devices in 2019, and this number is only growing in 2020. According to Aberdeen Group, in 2019 video marketers achieved a 54% increase in brand awareness and got 66% more qualified leads per year. In 2020, the number will only grow.
Another growing trend is live video. Facebook Live and Instagram Live videos keep your audience watching three times longer than recorded ones. Live videos produce six times as many interactions as traditional videos.
5. Customer Experience
Customer experience: this is what keeps your customer coming back for more. When you focus on building your business in a positive way, while providing top notch service, this gives your marketing a boost. Customer experience, also known as CX is more than just a trend - it is the future. 73% of people say that customer experience is an important factor in their buying decision, according to PWC.
Now the question is, what makes a great CX? Efficiency, knowledgeable, convenience, excellent service and easy payment options are some factors that users value in their CX. More factors include updated technology, a great brand image, a simple mobile experience, personalization and good design.
6. Understanding Position Zero
As marketers, our goal is to get found online and that means getting to the top of search engine result pages (SERPs). However, search engines have changed a lot in the last five years. The top spot in SERP is now position zero, a featured snippet of text which appears above the search results. This prime location provides information relating to the search query and provides the specific link to the page, from which the information is taken.
Position zero is the first, and sometimes only result that will be viewed. This should be one of the main focuses in your marketing plan.
7. Influencer Marketing is so in!
Influencer marketing went from huge celebrities or "internet celebs" with millions of followers, to now, people with a smaller social media following. The reason for this is that these influencers have a more targeted audience.
Influencer marketing is personalized and more authentic as people trust consumer recommendations from a verified source. According to a Mediakix study, ad spend for influencer marketing could reach $10 billion by next year. It's clear that influencer marketing will be more alive than ever in 2020.

Module 2: Media Switch Up: LinkedIn
I set up my LinkedIn profile in 2010 as I was on the job hunt. At the time, I did not have much luck with LinkedIn, because I did not get feedback from recruiters. After I landed a job, I merely updated the profile when necessary to keep my online resume current.
Full disclosure: The main reason why I never utilized LinkedIn as much is because my line of work has a very specific hiring process through USAJobs.gov. Applying for jobs in the U.S. federal government is a very peculiar process where everything you are taught in school (i.e. being creative, doing something to stand out) does not lead to favorable outcomes. I essentially see USAJobs.gov as a game between me and a Civilian Personnel Advisory Center employee where I wear my lucky sweater in hopes that said employee is in a good enough mood to ensure my resume is placed on a top of a metaphorical pile of resumes.
Because of my trials and tribulations with USAJobs, I, perhaps, did not want another system to lower my self-esteem while job hunting. This is probably why I hardly use LinkedIn. However, for the purposes of this assignment, I decided to log into my account and fully understand the platform’s functions. What I discovered is that many of colleagues and professional contacts utilize LinkedIn like Facebook with its news feed feature. People are uploading content such as professional achievements, opinion pieces and portfolio examples. To engage with the content, I referred to Gary Vee’s video on the supposed top LinkedIn strategy (see below). He advised to utilize LinkedIn by producing content and engaging with it meaningfully. He encouraged people to make posts with actual substance. Instantly, I took his advice and left thoughtful responses to people’s posts that went beyond the go-to thumbs up. From what I noticed, if someone wants an online domain to brag about their professional accomplishments, LinkedIn may be one of the few places where you do not appear so self-absorbed.
In further research, I found some interesting data about LinkedIn. According to Omnicore, over 70% of LinkedIn users are from outside the U.S. Moreover, only 23% of millennials use LinkedIn. The platform is also the top social media for B2B marketers. After learning these surprising facts, I decided to delve more into the platform and how companies use it. For example, I found the U.S. Department of Defense’s page and reviewed the types of content on its news feed. What I learned is that people like engaging with the content even though it may feel repetitive to what’s on Facebook. After this analysis, I considered the possibility of pitching the idea of creating a page for my organization and using it as a professional development platform. Even though many people will use Facebook for those purposes, I thought there is a perception that posting content on LinkedIn appears more professional than on Facebook. In other words, it is more sophisticated and classy.
In sum, this assignment opened my eyes to LinkedIn’s features. Now it’s time to update my profile.
