Sometimes there's a little thing about a character onscreen that fandom makes into a bigger deal than it canonically is; they mention liking a particular snack and we imagine them eating it every day, or they enjoy a song and we make it their personal theme tune, or there's simply an item visible in their home and we decide it's their favourite thing. It can get a bit silly and excessive but

the obvious exception is little things that I personally find funny to go all in on

and "Eddie Munson likes Garfield" is one of those

#it's just such a basic bitch thing to like #not some edgy indie comic like the original b/w Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #not even something endearingly weird like The Far Side #but GARFIELD perhaps THE most popular syndicated comic strip of the 80s #with the most ubiquitous and omnipresent merchandising #the only comparable thing was Peanuts and that began in the 50s so it had decades of weight behind it #(I feel like Dustin's favourite newspaper comic is The Far Side though)#Steve likes Garfield too but Steve is absolutely a basic bitch and doesn't care who knows it

Here is the bear I take with me when I travel places, I bought him secondhand from I think one of those Blue Peter Bring and Buy Sales when I was a kid for probably less than £1, he's been to Germany, Malaysia, Iceland and Greece and I'm just posting him because he's Neat.

His name is Pookie, because that's what it says on his label and the first time I took him somewhere I didn't want to get attached to him so I didn't rename him. It... did not work.
