Nicole Cabella (Tori Anderson) grew up on her family’s Northern California olive ranch and is given the reigns to the family’s olive oil business now that her Grandpa Frank (Gardiner Millar) has decided to retire. Her vision for growing the company begins with winning the local olive oil competition during the town’s upcoming annual Fall Festival and expanding the building where she hosts olive oil tastings. However, her plans come under threat when her childhood crush Jake Brandini (Benjamin Hollingsworth), heir apparent to the neighboring ranch and her biggest competitor, Brandini Olive Oil, visits from his home in San Francisco. By accident, he discovers the land where Nicole wants to expand may belong to his family, stemming from a decades-long feud simmering since their grandfathers ended their olive oil business partnership. When a local judge decides to resolve the land dispute by awarding it to the winner of the upcoming olive oil competition, Nicole accepts the challenge and immediately sets out to create the perfect olive oil flavor with her best friend and head ranch hand, Adam (Shawn Roberts). Meanwhile, Jake, who’s an attorney, takes a renewed interest in his family’s business and enlists his grandfather’s help in creating an award-winning olive oil. Although the olive oil competition is days away, Nicole and Jake’s competitive natures spill over into other areas of the Fall Festival as they compete in an apple-picking contest and a pedal car race. When their friend Billy (Andrew Dunbar) needs help at the local diner, they even grab aprons and compete over who is the best server. As the two begin spending more time in friendly competition and reminiscing about their childhood, it becomes clear there’s still an attraction there, but with the all-important competition looming and the ongoing feud between their families raging, they continue to be pulled apart. Eventually, Jake makes a bold move to try and bring the warring families together, but a misunderstanding on Nicole’s part just before the competition leads her to believe Jake only cares about winning. Finally, the olive oil competition arrives and after the winner is chosen, Nicole learns she’s been mistaken about Jake all this time and is worried she may have lost him forever once he returns to San Francisco.
