This redraw took me SO LONG to do but I’m really happy with the result. My energy would wane in and out while working on it and honestly I completely stopped for quite a few months there, but I knew i wanted to finish it, no matter what.

The first two images are the originals that I drew back in 2018 and at the time, it was my proudest drawing. In 2021, I decided that it was time to redraw it, see where my skills had improved and so i worked up a sketch in a teeny tiny sketchpad, but the real work began in 2023 when i finally set up my desk and got back into digital art. Between then, i would send my friends progress pictures as proof i was, in fact, trying to get my passion back going. Until finally, I completed it. The final picture being the unedited version.

The insane thing is I’m not done with this littls project yet. I’m taking a break from it for a bit just to hop right on to doing a second version.

SPOOKY MONTH OC INTERVIEW MEME

9. Has two certain kids ever caused you trouble? Or are they friendly to you? I think they call themselves Skid and Pump.

Winifred cracks an egg.

“I think trouble is a strong word,” they start. “They come in and ask for ‘Spooky Ice-cream’ but we only have the special toppings in October. Luckily, it’s just vanilla and orange sorbet so I can make it anyways and well…”

As the egg spills into her small bowl of rice, she thinks and thinks. Soon, her content face wanes into a serious one.

She corrects herself as a memory is recalled.

“No, maybe trouble is the right word. Apparently, they helped a man in blue steal a container of ice cream from us. The container was left at a kidnapping scene, so the police came and questioned us... and then... Hm. It’s a little…”

As she throws the eggshells, the back of her head splits apart and teeth erupt from the strands of hair. A drooling tongue coils itself around half a shell, crushing it to pieces.

The new voice rings unpleasantly. It is unhappy and it groans.

“BAHHHHHHHH.”

“It is nothing but suspicious! Why are the children helping the man steal?! Why is the man involving the children in his dirty work?! Why was a kidnapped child at the scene too?! Is the dirty work kidnapping all along? This is all troublesome! And suspicious! Suspicious, suspicious!”

The girl doesn’t do much in response. “You say too much. Be quiet.”

Care to share a bit about Cicero? I found him through searching for inspiration for my own Legion oc and he's just *chef's kiss*

Hear me out- Forgot about this ask!! Sorry!!!

Anyways,

Cicero is my Legion oc who is a frumentarii as well. He was originally caught by the Legion as he was doing some work in Northern Arizona, and was forced into the Legion instead of being killed because he had a lot to offer- knowing multiple languages, knowing the area very well, knowing how to repair a lot of things ranging from radios-> weapons, and his strength.

He originally was with the Legion for a short while before he made a run for it back to Mexico, where he hid out for a few years. He came back for work into Nevada, unaware of how far the Legion had got and how close to NCR territory they were, and he was recognized and recaptured by the Legion.

They branded him, so he wouldn't be able to run + hide again, cut his hair, and put him through multiple methods of torture just to break him down, and he was made a frumentarii so Vulpes could keep a close eye on him and what he did in and out of camp. Cicero doesn't WANT to be in the Legion, but over time starts to accept his position and the situation, and starts to do more to attract the attention and approval of Caesar and Vulpes, giving him more purpose that isn't just "survive day to day in the mojave" but rather to become one of the more higher achieving legionaries, a realistic goal he could work toward.
