Here are my collected thoughts on why I ship Fenro and not Fendra
@shychick-52 @rommaru
First, if the DT crew wanted to make Fendra canon, they should’ve actually had more episodes building up their relationship, instead of shoehorning all that development in just Beaks in the Shell. Just like georgiarose answered in their respective post.
It wouldn’t have been hard to have Gandra genuinely apologize to Fenton for being in cahoots with Mark Beaks and lying to him in the process, but the show never does that due to the Duck family’s main character syndrome and the show’s cast bloat. Then there are the episodes in Season 3 where Gandra doesn’t interact with Fenton until the final episodes of Season 3, and her redemption arc doesn’t get developed throughout the same season, only in Beaks in the Shell. Heck throughout their “date” in Dangerous Chemistry of Gandra Dee, Gandra did criticize two of Fenton’s experiments for not being risky “What if you don’t like glazed doughnuts?” -Dangerous Chemistry of Gandra Dee” and for conforming with Mcduck’s corporate checklist “So, Rich boss McDuck gets to gobble up all of the Earth’s precious gems for himself? What’s next, some kind of Gold magnet?” - Same episode, although I do agree with her anticapitalist belief, which is the one trait I’m tolerable of. During that whole lab session she also demonstrated her own tech, her Eyebuds and Nanites, WITHOUT Fenton’s permission, to show how good her free lance tech is (which honestly felt like a red flag to me)
Exhibit A, Gandra testing her nanites on Fenton, without his permission
In the whole series, Fenton is a lawful good duck and Gandra’s obviously morally grey, and as you watch Gandra’s cover get blown during the climax of Dangerous chemistry of Gandra Dee you begin to become disappointed with her when she doesn’t apologize to Fenton for double crossing him, that very episode made me completely disappointed in the character herself.
Dialogue is also from The Dangerous Chemistry of Gandra Dee:
Fenton: So I’m the suit? You’re the one working for Beaks!
Gandra: I work for myself. I just …used him for funding and resources.
Fenton: For what? Was any of this real? What are you?
Gandra: A scientist, free of responsibility, and look …for what it’s worth, you’re a good scientist.
Fenton: And you’re a crook.
If you focus on Gandra’s lines, there is an underlying hypocrisy to her character, she is also responsible for creating the nanites to cause Mark Beaks to go berserk. The dialogue reaffirms that Gandra did not formally apologize to Fenton and took accountability for her actions at the end of her debut episode.
Reminder, I rage quit watching the Ducktales reboot after seeing spoilers for Beaks in the Shell. There was not a lot of compatibility and build up to Fenton and Gandra falling in love together near the end of the series. The reason they started their relationship is because of Huey and Webby forcing them to get together on a date, while completely disregarding Fenton’s boundaries in the process, and this is something you should never do IRL. Due to Gandra being a hypocrite claiming she’s a rebel scientist only to reveal she was forced to work for F.O.W.L. Through her sob inducing backstory (Playing the guilt card are we?) does sum up how her redemption arc or lack thereof, didn’t make it feel compelling to us at all. Since Gandra and Fenton only interacted in 3 episodes total, through Beaks in the Shell we learn that they’re in a secret relationship and run science experiments together in a virtual reality which also had so many plotholes. Beaks in the Shell made Fenton and Gandra’s relationship feel rushed and forced with no substance to it at all, they just made them canon to constantly enforce heteronormativity like Disney and pander to the Shippers.
And then you have Fenton’s relationship with Gyro who surprisingly interacted more with him than with Gandra in the entire series. Fenton may be lawfully good and friendly while Gyro is antisocial and focused on his inventions they actually have a solid dynamic and were able to play off of each other. Throughout season 1 and Astroboyd they had a gradual build up of care and respect and especially in Astroboyd Gyro ends up promoting Fenton to a doctor to show the respect he now has for him.
Dialogue is from near the end of AstroB.OY.D.
Yes, intern. I was once like you. Of course, I was a naive idiot back then. But if I had someone to actually listen to me, I might not have been so hopeless. So... you're hired full-time, Dr. Crackshell-Cabrera.
Fenro: That's not technically how doctorates work, and I don't care!
Gyro: Okay, everybody, the hugging is a "just for today" thing.
Exhibit B, Fenton happily embracing Gyro after being promoted to a full time job as a Doctor. Also this hug was before Gyro protected Fenton before Boyd could attack him and managed to apologize and embrace Boyd for the mistake he made in the past. Guess which scientist is more committed to their responsibilities in the whole reboot? Also Gyro reconciling with Boyd and promoting Fenton was the best way to have his character arc go off on a high note and helped improve his relationship with Dr. Crackshell-Cabrera.
Fenton and Gyro helped fight off the main antagonists in all 3 season finales of the Ducktales reboot, they had great chemistry together whenever they’re on screen, they’re opposites attract, they’re both brilliant scientists, heck, that’s why I enjoyed watching scenes of them together, and why I ended up shipping them even thought they didn’t end up together. Fenton and Gyro were awesome characters that had the best designs in the reboot. You’ll also know it’s a problem in the episodes featuring Gandra, the writers had to completely change Fenton and Gyro’s dynamic in order to have Gandra and Fenton be more “compatible”. Due to realizing that they ended up realizing they gave Fenton and Gyro way more chemistry than they did with Gandra. Look these two whole posts aren’t hot takes these are just my opinions I’m sharing with you. Also I wasn’t trying to antagonize the Fendra shippers at all in this critical post. Tl;dr, Fenton and Gyro’s relationship got no homo’d out of existence near the end of the series, and Fendra ended up feeling very forced and obviously rushed with Gandra’s character feeling poorly handled by the DT17’s writers. Fun fact, Beaks in the Shell was one of the least watched episodes out of the series.

YES!!!
And Huey’s got logic (plus a bit of power) on his side, so we’re not playing.

Jokes on you, Fendra Haters! If you wanna sink this ship, you’ll have to take down our most powerful ally!!

Good luck.
#but in all seriousness if you simply just prefer another fenton (or gandra) ship over fendra good for you#we’re not gonna criticize if you do#this is more for the *serious* haters#ducktales#huey duck#fenton crackshell cabrera#gandra dee#fendra

For the shipping bingo hmm.... What's your take on fendra?
Hoo-boy. Ok, I honestly don't like this ship, even though it's canon. Gandra spent FAR more screentime being an enemy (including her debut episode in s2 'The Dangerous Chemistry of Gandra Dee', in which she used Fenton- even going so far as to short out the Gizmoduck armor when he tried to stop Mega-Beaks, which left him entirely at Beaks' mercy, and Beaks easily could have seriously hurt him or worse if he chose to instead of kidnapping Huey and Webby instead... and Beaks even told Fenton "You are very dead!"). I don't think she did nearly enough to make up for (emotionally) hurting Fenton at the end of that episode, even tho she tried to defeat Beaks single-handedly, teamed up with Fenton to take him down, and left him with the correct equation to help him finish his project... which does give her some credit, but she still took off without a word of apology or explanation.
Then at the end of season 2, we find out she's part of F.O.W.L., then most of the rest of the time we see her in season 3 she's acting against the Ducks... then only three episodes away from the finale, we suddenly find out her and Fenton have actually been in a secret relationship all along, working on a secret project, and that she only joined up with F.O.W.L. and other bad guys out of desperation for funding for her science projects because she's always been judged and misunderstood for her 'unorthodox' types of experiments, leading her to become independent, proud, aloof, and only looking out for herself... until she met Fenton, who actually believed in her and believed the best in her (forgave her, understood her, gave her a chance, became the source of support and caring she never knew). That she had no loyalty to Bradford and F.O.W.L., and planned to quit as soon as she and Fenton finished their project, which she was using her funding and resources from F.O.W.L. to help build.
The big reveal about her backstory, true motivations for doing bad stuff, and relationship with Fenton just came out of NOWHERE, felt very rushed and poorly explained, and only left more questions. And their dynamic seems very one-sided; she's extremely critical and judgmental of him, quick to blame him for stuff (such as when Huey stumbled upon their secret project, and she automatically blamed Fenton), and he seems content to just listen to whatever she tells him with a very subservient, whipped "Yes, dear" type of attitude. Outside their passion for science, they don't seem compatible; she's very morally-grey, while he's a morally-upright person and seems to have a very black-and-white view of justice/right-and-wrong (despite being a total cinnamon roll who surely wants to give others the benefit of the doubt and help them, even to a fault).
I appreciate the show making her a strong, badass character, and a flawed one, and I LOVE that- but they developed her redemption so poorly, just like so much of season 3 felt rushed and crowded. It would have made much more sense to have her as this anon source of intel for the Ducks in their fight against FOWL, which later would be revealed to be Gandra. I truly want to like her a lot better, and I want to make it clear that I don't hate her, but I'm just not fond of her or the ship.

If I may can I request some yandere Gandra Dee please? Thank you and have a nice day!
Yandere Gandra Dee (Platonic Scenario - "Blue Ribbon")
Warnings: Fire Injury, Implied Death, Implied Past Bullying (not by Gandra), Emotional Manipulation, Toxic Mindsets.
A.N. – "A real scientist always gets results."
Gandra pushed you towards the school with an enthusiastic chuckle. "Go! How're you supposed to show everyone up from out here?"
You stumbled forward, experiment pressed to your chest, and turned your head to look at her. A wave of apprehension blended with a hint of sadness. "You sure you don't want to come?"
The scientist narrowed her eyes in playful objection and crossed her arms, sporting a determined smile. "No way. I've had enough fairs to last me until graduation." The prospect of facing the captious eyes of another judge conjured a flicker of discontent, drawing its fuel from buried experiences she did not wish to recall.
A raucous honk reverberated through the yard, and the two of you spotted a young pig marching down the stone path to the door. She carried a large sheet of white cardboard with a miniature volcano sitting on top. Bottles of vinegar and baking soda peeked out of a brown satchel looped around her left shoulder, rattling along with the farewells of her parents.
Gandra stared at the pig, an unfamiliar malice brewing in her gut. Her eyes tapered to slits as she clenched her teeth.
"Tammy Jenkins."
Memories of throwing inventions in the trash bin during a fit of tears bombarded her mind, fists beginning to quiver. The venomous criticisms of indignant judges mashed with Tammy cheering for her undeserved victories formed a cacophony of mockery.
Gandra dug her fingertips into her palms and turned away, wishing to quell the discordant voices that had come to mimic the static of a busted radio.
"Gandra?"
The scientist flinched at your concerned tone. Eyes widening, she pressed a hand to her chest and shuddered from the palpitations battering her ribs like the hull of a ship caught in a hurricane.
The waves of unwanted vulnerability and the stinging of old wounds made anew summoned a flush to her face. She glanced at you in a mixture of worry and embarrassment, head bowing and hand clutching the front of her shirt. "Yeah, I'm good."
Her confirmation was strained, but the anxious expression permeating her gaze suggested that now was not the time to dig for answers.
* * *
A blade of grass swayed between Gandra's fingers as she sat on the ground outside the school, legs crossed and arms propped against the patch of dirt behind her. She reclined with an idle sigh and blinked as a weak breeze lifted the tips of her brown hair before renouncing its grasp. A distant scratching spurred the chicken to peer over her shoulder.
You staggered out the entrance, your dazed and disheartened grimace emulating someone who had wagered all their money on a risky bet and lost.
The brief elation that fluttered in Gandra vanished as if it were a thumb pressed to the flame of a candle. Dread clenched her chest, and she sprang to her feet. A degree of haste infected her breaths as she jogged to a halt in front of you. "How'd it go?" She feared the answer but clung to the feeble hope that her analysis was mistaken.
Your eyes drifted to Gandra, airing your woes in a slow, flat murmur. “I’ve been disqualified.”
Gandra clenched her fists and scowled, eyes crinkling in dismay. "They can't do that!" Her voice carried a degree of anguish that was soon overtaken by wrath. "You threw away your whole week for this stupid fair!" She swung her arms and stamped her foot on the grass, gaze flickering towards the school. "The least they could do is give you a chance." A growl escaped the chicken as she spun around and shouted, "Why is that so difficult?!"
“No, I can’t compete because I don’t have an experiment. Someone stole it.”
The rage faded from Gandra’s scowl, only to resurface in the form of bafflement.
You frowned and began to amble back to the entrance, head hung low. "I might as well see who's taking all the credit."
A spark of alarm erupted on Gandra's countenance. She rushed forward to place a hand on your shoulder and swerved into your path, eyes open as wide as saucers. "No." To quell your surprise, she mustered a consoling smile. "You don't need to waste your time on those blockheads." The chicken directed you at the street and nudged you closer to the sidewalk, limiting your view of her. A twinge of anxiety threatened to encumber the corners of her beak.
Waving a hand, she watched your form shrink into a speck as you trudged in the direction of your home. The unsteady contentment struggling to remain on her face shattered into a peeved scowl. Gandra turned with a swish of her jacket and stormed to the school entrance, shoving the double doors open with a grunt. Her sneakers stomped across the tile floors as a rough clang echoed from behind. Rows of lockers bordered the corridor, but with each step, they lost another feature before dissolving into a blur.
The weathered doors to the gymnasium concealed an abundance of muffled chatter. Gandra visualized a face for the strongest voices, every image twisted by memories of callous judges and accusing classmates. A grumble slipped past her beak as she eased her pace to infiltrate the science fair.
Various sections of the gym were occupied by faculty members and students, excited gestures sweeping the throngs as they huddled around different contestants with anticipation.
An assortment of machines and posters littered the tables, but none evoked more than morose boredom from Gandra. There was not a single face she failed to recognize, only the addition of wrinkles and vanity from cheap triumphs. It fanned the contempt stewing within her gut like a bubbly cauldron. The vexation chewing her muscles rose to a sensitive fury as she met the stare of a familiar pig, her eyes widening in a transient rush of sorrow.
Tammy had matured into a teenager, but Gandra saw the child who thrived where she had languished. An inexplicable pressure invaded her hands, expanding across her palms as if they wielded an invisible device. The ground seemed closer than before, so close that Gandra could outstretch an arm and touch it without bending. Red and orange light pulsed from within the miniature volcano as if beckoning to her. Limbs seized by a rigid stiffness, she found herself marching forward with a pensive expression, one that obscured the chasms of malignance opening behind her gaze.
At the sight of the chicken, Tammy frowned. She crossed her arms and eyed Gandra in displeasure. “Don’t even think about destroying this one.”
The scientist felt her facade quiver. Pressing her hands together in false timidity, Gandra lowered her regard to the volcano. “No, I wanted to apologize.” She tapered her eyes. “You deserve to win this, and I won’t get in your way this time.” Offering the pig an abashed smile, she repressed the stream of quips and taunts bombarding her mind.
Skepticism crinkled Tammy's eyes, and the corners of her mouth plunged further. An aura of irritation surrounded the pig. "Excuse me," she muttered before stepping away with a scoff. As the distance between the girl and the nearest judge closed, Gandra's faux shame waned into malevolence.
The scientist swiped the bottle of baking soda and unscrewed the cap, bowing the container at the peak of the volcano. A white powder gushed forth and flowed into the spout like a stream. Crystalline specks garnished the table as if snowflakes had fallen, but Gandra cast them to the floor with a wave of her arm. She closed the bottle and returned it to its original position.
Tammy pointed a finger at her station, directing the suspicious gaze of the judge. He frowned and expelled a vexed sigh before walking in the opposite direction. Bewilderment flourished on her face, and she turned to find a solitary experiment awaiting her return. The pig scanned the myriad crowds migrating from one table to another. Curious stares greeted her as an audience soon formed around her creation, the frantic motions of her arms having been interpreted as consent.
The judge appeared at the head of the throng. A look of weary indifference adorned his crooked beak, and he clicked a pen. Eyes travelling to Tammy, he stretched his frown as a show of impatience.
Alarm flashed across the girl's countenance. She rushed to her station and plucked an eyedropper from her satchel. “Now, a splash of vinegar.” Tammy examined the instrument with an eager smile, the red solution inside sloshing against the confines of the glass. She tilted the ingredient towards the mouth of the experiment.
Inquiring stares awaited the descent of the liquid. After sweeping across the rim, the wave of vinegar plummeted into the top of the miniature volcano.
Metallic jingling akin to rattling chains thundered inside Tammy's ears before she could register the blunt surface clapping the back of her head. A grey haze smothered her vision that roasted her skin like the desert sun, sparks of red and orange whipping through the opaque vapour extinguishing her breath. The sound of sizzling flesh drew her hands to her face, and Tammy screamed at the agonizing heat that sprang onto her fingers as if it were a starved animal.
A whiff of dust invaded her nostrils and spurred the girl to arch her back, a wheeze dragging a swell of pain from her lungs. She pressed a clenched fist to her mouth, but it did little to obstruct the waves of ash climbing down her throat. As the rancid elements sapped each inkling of her strength as if it were a flea sucking the blood of a dog, a placid voice resounded from the depths of the smoke.
"You have something that belongs to my friend."
The pig raised her head and peered into the darkness with a wary eye, her watery gaze drawn to a feminine silhouette.
Gandra emerged from the billows of smog blanketing the gymnasium like a plague. The dismal air created a murky enclosure around the chicken, her blue eyes illuminated by an unnatural glow. Pockets of ash wafted into her hair and clung to her shirt as she strolled towards the ravaged experiment, arms swaying at her side. The walls of fume blurring her path to the shattered table retreated to larger clouds as if repelled by an unseen force.
She rested a hand on her hip and watched Tammy in disdain. "Well, actually, two things." The scientist crouched and draped an arm over her knee, flashing a supercilious smile. "But I'm just here for this." A cry burst from the pig as Gandra seized the blue ribbon and tore it from her grasp. She rose to her feet and inspected the award with an approving nod, noting the frayed strips and tinge of charred grey. “Thanks for keeping it safe.” The chicken cast a glance at the mewling girl before turning and marching to the entrance.
After the creaking of the hinges faded to silence, the gym was populated by wails and the sobs of those unable to lift themselves from the floor.
* * *
Footsteps tapped the floor outside your room, and you lifted your head with a slight tilt. The sound of wood shifting drew your gaze to the door, where Gandra entered with one hand tucked behind her back.
The bitter stench of smoke permeated the seams of her clothes like a silent admission of guilt, but her pleased smile spoke only of serenity. The chicken approached you with subdued eagerness, her legs twitching forward.
A wandering fleck of ash drew a brief cough from your unprepared lungs. Squinting in discomfort, you peered at her with uncertain perplexity.
Streaks of dusty blue peeked out from beside her waist. As Gandra unfolded her arm, the quiet joy decorating her face evolved into enthusiasm. The shock claiming your expression caused her smile to grow, and she slapped the ribbon onto your desk.
"Tammy Jenkins sends her apologies."

To inject some Ducktales positivity back on this blog, what are your favorite episodes from each season?
Sorry this one got a little buried in the inbox 😅 onto it now!
FAVS!
Oh. Good question. Um. Honestly I love most of the episodes and there's only a few I genuinely hate. Sadly though they can't all be winners 😅 So I picked ones the ones I enjoyed overall best from each season.
Season 1:
Woo-oo!, The House of the Lucky Gander, McMystery at McDuck Manor, The Missing Links of Moorshire, The Spear of Selene, Beware the Buddy System, From the Confidential Casefiles of Agent 22, The Secrets of Castle McDuck, Who Is Gizmoduck, The Other Bin of Scrooge McDuck, The Last Crash of the Sunchaser, The Shadow War
Top pick: The Shadow War
I think this is one of the best episodes overall in terms of the show. It has family, heartbreak and reconciliation, action, drama, humor, I think this one is Ducktales at it's best. Much as I do also enjoy Moonvasion a lot, I kinda feel this one is the stronger finale. Either way though it's definitely a grand finale.
Season 2:
The Most Dangerous Game Night, The Depths of Cousin Fethry, The Town Where Everyone was Nice, Storkules in Duckburg, Whatever Happened to Della Duck, Friendship Hates Magic, Raiders of the Doomsday Vault, the Dangerous Chemistry of Gandra Dee, The Duck Knight Returns, Whatever Happened to Donald Duck, A Nightmare on Killmotor Hill, Moonvasion
Top Pick: The Duck Knight Returns
So some of Darkwing Duck hasn't aged the best but I think overall the show is great. And out of all the Disney Afternoon programs to include in Ducktales, Darkwing is definitely the best. And oh my gosh did they deliver! The new Drake is still recognizable in comparison to his 91 version but still gets a modernization. The relationship between him and LP is even better than before, the battle with Jim Starling is so much fun. Chris D does a phenomenal job as this newer Drake and Jim Cummings finally appearing on the show as Jim Starling/Negaduck was AWESOME.
Season 3:
The Challenge of the Senior Junior Woodchucks, Quack Pack, Double-O-Drake in You Only Crash Twice, The Lost Harp of Mervana, Louie's Eleven, Astro B.O.Y.D., The Phantom and the Sorceress, They Put a Moonlander on Earth, The Trickening, Let's Get Dangerous, Escape from the ImpossiBin, The Split Sword of Swanstatine, New Gods on the Block, The First Adventure, Beaks in the Shell
Top Pick: This one is legit a tie for me so I have to split it between Let's Get Dangerous and Louie's Eleven
Both of these episodes fill me with intensive joy i different ways. I get giddy whenever they're on O just love them. Let's Get Dangerous rocks even more of the amazing Drake and Launchpad dynamic (and yes I ship them) and we finally get Gosalyn. Like Drake she definitely resembles her 91 self in a way that's recognizable but she's also got a good modernization. Also I love how they modernized Taurus Bulba. He was instantly likable yet also crafty and very dangerous. Then also getting to see the Fearsome Four, getting a pretty hilarious DT87 reference "A SEA MONSTER ATE MY ICE CREAM!" The way the music swelled when Gosalyn couldn't shut off the Ramrod and prepared to destroy it, tears in her eyes. UGH GOOD STUFF. This episode has to be one of favorites.
But also love Louie's Eleven too much to not want it to be the top episode too. I adore healthy portrayals of Donsy and here we were delivered. It was refreshing to get to have Donald and Daisy meeting for the first time and have their portrayal instantly be healthier. Sure we still see some of that temper Daisy is known for too but thankfully not as bad as it can be. The way she instantly understands him. The way they smile at each other. When she hears him sing, she hears more than just his rough voice but rather the soul behind it. LOVE. And the way they team up to take on Graves and his team. The way Donald says "MY KIDS!" WHAT A DAD, I LOVE HIM. And the way at the end Donald sings and Daisy says she can listen to it all night and the two share such a loving look. I JUST ADORE IT.
And more than just the Donsy aspect of this episode, this was just ridiculously fun. Love the heist/scheme op at play. Love Louie getting to be Louie until he finally has to rely on his big brother Dewey. Then Dewey gets to Dewey it. And it's phenomenal. And of freaking course THE THREE CABALLEROS! YAY! I love them!!! This was just such a good episode I can't help but love it.
This is just my opinion though overall. This is not an attack on any episode or on anyone. I actually love this show overall I know I've been a bit critical lately but it's a really important show to me. Sad that it's over but happy it did happen.

The best moments of Ducktales in the second season
Here only one scene per chapter will be emphasized, plus the critical score of the good of the chapter, that is memorable and that left a certain continuity. (i.e. the same as the previous publication)
10° "The Bravest Duck of Two Worlds" (S2 Ep 17 "What Ever Happened to Donald Duck?!")
This chapter showed us even more why Donald is the best main character in the series along with Launchpad and Webby; the part where he fights with Lunaris while he's angry is satisfying along with Jones' explanation of why Donald always gets angry is spectacular. Here the most recognized character in the mouse house was given a new depth and became more popular than before. Besides, adding to Penumbra's words "There goes the bravest man of two worlds" is a perfect ending.
Donald the last cool uncle and father.
9° "The Song of the Three Caballeros" (S2 Ep 4 "The Town Where Everyone Was Nice!")
I know it deserves to be higher up, however there are two reasons why it is in this position, first the episode is a bit far-fetched with the part of the inhabitants not showing their feet which are the roots of a giant carnivorous plant and second because the others are better, even if, this fan service was wonderful, every reference to the song in the movie was incredible and all the fans screamed like crazy when they sang the song; I know they changed one word that is gay, but it was because in the context that the movie was released which was the 40's it had a different meaning and then it would have another one later, but it doesn't take away that the song is very good.
The Three Caballeros ride again. (As I love these three)
8° "Flintheart's Victory Dance" (S2 Ep 10 "The 87 Cent Solution!")
The funniest scene in the series is very short, but it makes you laugh at how sadistic and burlesque Flintheart was when he thought Scrooge really died, until the time the episode came out, most of the fandom made jokes about this scene and I don't blame them.
The best scene in Flintheart and the funniest episode of the show.
7° "The return of a great friend" (S2 Ep 14 "Friendship Hates Magic!")
If Della's return excited the whole fandom, so did Lena's. After being in Webby's shadow and experiencing jealousy towards Violet, the emo duck returns to the scene to save her best friend from her own jealousy along with a girl who didn't trust at first that she should join her because they care about Webby too. The part where they are about to return to the material world and Lena almost disappears, leaves an emotion of sadness, however, when the bracelet takes an important role, Lena returns now to the material world and that group hug between the girls of a nice closing and giving a new friendship for the tender duck of the pink bow.
6° "The harsh words of a son and a mother" (S2 Ep 21 "Timephoon!")
This scene generated a great debate in the fandom in general and that's why it's on this list; Louie almost shits the whole universe just to avoid the hard work and get it easily, while everyone forgives them, Della was the only one who did give the stop to his son and both give each other strong words, especially Louie leaving a tense environment and everything ends up being Louie punished by his mother who lived less and confiscated his dream and nobody says anything. I leave him in this position because of how powerful he is and how he generated debate in favor of Louie or Della.
Although they reconciled in the end, it's lacked more emotion in reconciliation.
5° "A Christmas in Dewey's Past" (S2 Ep 6 "Last Christmas!" )
Again, Dewey takes the scenes for himself, even though it was for something nice. When Dewey is with the young versions of his mom and his Uncle Donald when they captured the family friendly version of the Wendigo and Dewey hugs his young mom it was very sweet, it was obvious that Dewey didn't contain the emotion of giving a first hug to the woman he wanted to meet.
(There he left another plot hole as to why Della when she returned to earth wasn't surprised when she saw Dewey for the first time)
Maybe I'll leave you in this position because the chapter in general is very good.
4° "A mother's most awaited embrace" (S2 Ep 12 "Nothing Can Stop Della Duck!")
Everyone wanted to see this and it went faster than we thought, but it doesn't take away from the fact that this scene made history in Disney animations; Della hugging her children and them hugging her back is very emotional and it made almost everyone cry.
A well-deserved position, because the rest of the chapter falls a little later in the third act, however, doesn't take away the fact that this scene is Della's most memorable in animation.
3° "The Song of the Moon" (S2 Ep 7 "What Ever Happened to Della Duck?!")
Another memorable moment for Della is this; she spent a lot of time trying to get back and ruining chances because of the moon bug, after meeting the filthy liar Lunaris and Penumbra, the broad who tried to kill her three times (Della's sasuke, please you can take it as irony if you understand the reference) and see that the mistreatment that was ruining her chances actually had a baby to take care of and Della understood immediately how she felt, she wants to calm the baby that was crying with a lullaby (which is the NES Ducktales moon theme) and it calms him down, it's nice and leaves a feeling of satisfaction. Della gleamed with this.
2° "F.O.W.L" (S2 Ep 23 "Moonsavion!")
There are many good moments in the "Moonsavion", although the most outstanding is at the end of the chapter, where we reveal a few things, leave several doubts and a new threat that promises to be better than the imbecile of Lunaris; hopefully they will not disappoint with this. At that moment I was surprised and began to dislike Gandra Dee (I'll give an explanation, if time permits), my expectations grew more and left a possibility that gives a lot to the fandom.
And so a new and promising threat is presented.
1° "They want grim and gritty, huh? Happy to play the part." (S2 Ep 16 "The Duck Knight Returns!")
Although "Moonvasion" wants to be epic, this episode is EPIC and with desire, is the best episode of the second season and is in one of the best of the reboot, the only flaw that has is Dewey no more, but the rest is glorious from beginning to end and its end is excellent, because it gives two very good plot twist, the revelation of the real Drake Mallard and Jim Starling who survived the explosion and immense in madness and hatred becoming the villain Darkwing: Negaduck; it's spectacular and with those words he says at the end I leave a mark on the chapter and giving the hope of seeing it once again.
Here Frank was again great with this chapter, respecting that he is Darkwing Duck with modifications well done by a great fan of the character.
This list is my opinion
(Maybe I'll make a list of the "I love you", the "I like you a lot" and the "I don't like you"of Ducktales)

✩ Romance Headcanons/Screaming ✩
- “This is just a professional meeting of the minds, that could turn into a flirtation, that could then blossom into a loving relationship for as long as we both shall live!” Fenton is an incredibly loving and loyal person who takes his relationships very seriously. He isn’t thinking about a fling, or a date, or even a few. When he crushes on someone, his mind goes straight to having a loving-and-supportive-relationship-that-lasts-forever with them. Not one to go on dates or start relationships for ‘fun’, if he goes out with someone then he genuinely feels like they could be The One... BUT, he is aware that most some people don’t feel the same.
- “But I don’t want to come on too strong. So, not a date.” This hesitance to assume that Gandra is also interested goes perfectly with how I’ve been portraying Fenton in regards to his crushes. :3 Plus, the ‘come on strong’ phrasing supports my ‘doesn’t-want-to-annoy-his-s/o’ take on the boyoo. *dabs* Not wanting to risk destroying whatever relationship he can cultivate with Gandra (even if it simply stays as a friendship) he is willing to stifle his romantic feelings and have the evening be whatever SHE wants it to be. Speaking of crushes-
- “Brilliant and charming and a little bit critical... Just like my mother and Gyro and pretty much everyone else in my life.” JSAGHFHHJABHSFS... Gyro was specifically mentioned as someone who has the traits that Fenton was listing. The traits that helped him find Gandra attractive. :3c When describing his date, Fenton thought of DR. GEARLOOSE as an example of someone she reminded him of. True... Fenton ended the list with ‘everyone else in my life’, but he still purposely said his name. *frantically motions* Friendos, Fenton canonly thinks that Gyro is charming and I AM LIVING FOR IT. X3
- On the topic of people Fenton mentioned- His M’Ma is incredibly protective and I fear for anyone who dates her son. *side-eyes Fenton’s bf(s)* If anyone breaks Fenton’s heart, she will personally ‘hunt them down and dismantle their life, piece by piece.’ :’D I am convinced that she has TOLD them this as well, without Fenton’s knowledge. R.I.P Fenton’s Ex-Bf
- “Just science, and me, and her... and the moonlight.” I am sorry but he is just SUCH A PURE BOYYO and I can’t handle it. *clutches my heart* Hghghnnnnn... “Ms. Dee... Shall we science?” *lies down* Such a polite boy... Such a romantic at heart... There is no intelligent or deep commentary in this bullet point. I just needed to mention these moments. lol
- NOW, it is time to end this with some over-analyzation. :D Even after she betrayed his trust, he still jumped up to catch Gandra when Mark threw her off. Because like I mentioned earlier, he has a heart of gold and genuinely cared about Gandra... and continues to care, despite being deceived (yet again). When he caught her, Fenton actually broke her fall. He held her close and HIS BACK hit the ground first. Taking the brunt of the impact and allowing Gandra to bounce off his body. As they get up, he is clearly more affected by the fall than she is and even sounds winded. Probably because they hit the frickin’ concrete, instead of the grass. Despite this, his first instinct is to ask if SHE is okay... JDHFLAJKFKLASF... F E N T O N

DuckTales Season 3 Episode 19 Review: Beaks in the Shell!
https://ift.tt/eA8V8J
This DUCKTALES review contains spoilers.
It’s hard not to tie your work to your self worth. You spend countless hours pouring your talent and love into something and when someone rejects it, it can be so much more than them simply not liking what you made. It can feel like they’re rejecting you. It makes you not want to show your work to anyone, to keep it hidden. The more you do it, the more you also want to hide yourself. If people don’t like (or understand) your work, they won’t like or understand you… right?
It’s no wonder Gandra Dee retreated from the world in today’s DuckTales. She had big ideas but because they weren’t understood she just wanted to go it alone… but that also explains why she ended up with Fenton. While he’s never been quite as closed off as Gandra, you can still feel that reluctance. He has so many ideas and even his fellow scientists give him grief for it. It’d be easy for him to retreat into himself like Gandra and to hide his work from the world… but Fenton can’t.
He knows what he’s making with Gandra can help the world. Fenton is such a loveable character because despite the reluctance and knowledge people don’t quite understand him; he still wants to make the world a better place. It helps he has people like his mother and Huey and his life, people who encourage him in their own ways.
Gandra doesn’t have that. We don’t know a lot about her backstory but it’s telling that when she could only get support from F.O.W.L. she drew more inward. She didn’t have love, she had maliciousness all around her. Gandra and Fenton are two sides of the same coin, what happens when you have love and support and what happens when you don’t.
Crucically though, and this makes me adore Fenton somehow even more than I already did, he can see this is the case. He sees through Gandra working for F.O.W.L. and loves her despite her past. Just because you’ve done something wrong doesn’t make you a bad person. People’s stories are far more complicated than a one line, “SHE WORKS FOR AN EVIL ORGANIZATION!” When we look deeper we can see so much more. With love and encouragement we can help pull others out of their darkness, from the judgment of others… and the judgment of themselves.
That’s what was truly going on with Gandra. Yes she was afraid of what others thought but deep down she let their words become her own voice. Critical, judgmental, afraid… of herself. The episode glosses over her experiments on herself but what could be a better representation of that kind of negative self-talk? I won’t go so far as to say she was hurting herself but those experiments DID put her in harm’s way… although after everything she dealt with in life it’s easy to understand why.
It’d be easy to say it’s all thanks to Fenton loving her that got her to break out of this but that’s only part of it. We need the support of others to get that critical voice to not be quite as loud but Gandra made the decision on her own to start working against that. To get herself out of the situation she was in… and to start trusting others. It also took Mark Beaks taking over a virtual reality space and trying to steal someone else’s ideas once again but hey, sometimes we need an outside push.
‘Beaks in the Shell’ really brought DuckTales back to our screens in top form. The use of Huey balanced out the more dramatic elements with his hilariously inept attempts at lying. Bringing Louie in to try and lie for him was unexpected yet perfect (Gyro referring to the triplets by color is fantastic.) The girl with the ‘Horse Enthusiast’ shirt made me laugh way harder than I expected. The always fantastic Mark Beaks made an excellent villain and I’m continually amazed how DuckTales can take comedic villains and still keep them so threatening.
The other big winner of the episode was Officer Cabrera. This is a mom you don’t mess with. Her dynamic with Fenton is so good because while she’s a very overprotective mother her actions never come off as anything but coming from a place of love. She also can understand Manny and seems to talk to him regularly? Give me their story DuckTales, please!
And of course when Huey realized he could make ANYTHING in the GizmoCloud he made himself a superhero… with super long legs. Thank you for that brilliant callback, DuckTales. Never let the dream die, Huey. Never.
