So I hit my 700th edit for the WHA wiki today, because I am a totally normal person
#For the record I have been there for. 27 days.#That makes an average of 26 edits a day which is even more terrifying because I definitely was not updating every day#Also this is for the Telepedia Wiki not the Fandom one#Anyway you should check it out!#In maybe a week because the website cache is super slow for some reason when you're not logged in#But I'm having fun#The nice thing about working on a wiki where there's actually other people doing stuff#Is that they can do the boring stuff like character bios and etc while I run around doing the fun stuff like pages on animals and plants#Anyway I was working on the Eldroxen page which are the big fluffy ox from the Silver Eve Procession#And it was so funny collecting info on them from the main series and then checking Kitchen real quick and SURPRISE! THEY'RE EATING IT!#I mean I should have expected this after having watched Dungeon Meshi and yet~~~#Also funny was that I copy+pasted the page coding for one the (food) animals as a template for this giant Mole-worm beast page but#forgot to remove the line about it being for food and afterwards had a laugh and then removed it#But now I'm like. They probably WOULD eat that sucker. Giant mole worm/snake/dragon thing? That'd feed a whole town!#Qifrey could have an entire audience watching how he'd prepare and season it#Anyway if you've been wondering where I've been that's it#Also funny story: during the Covid pandemic I stayed employed when my coworkers got let go because they needed me to catalogue an entire#new set of guided reading books; and have these sets have a digital checkout instead of the old-school card catalog we were literally still#using in 2020. Anyway I went all out with the organization of the books and the boxes and even made a reference binder for the books#via subject so teachers/tutors could find specific subjects and reading levels etc#(I'd have done a digital way to search for results but honestly half the teachers couldn't figure out how to sign in to the laptop. So.)#Anyway. Only a handful of teachers actually used these books and two years later the school switched to a new reading program#that came with its own set of books and lessons so this 10k reading set was essentially unneeded (and my dear coworkers never got rehired)#Anyway I learned last week that they're clearing out that room and all of those barely-used books are getting thrown out 🙃🙃🙃🙃🙃#Isn't that funny#Literally everything is just sandcastles built in the surf#I'm so glad I already accepted this during my pumpkin carving years because otherwise I think I'd be upset#Anyway I'm gonna go play my spooky fishing game

How many IT guys does it take to replace a battery in a speaker
At least 5, apparently
#I went to my school’s IT department and they’re really chill#they offer to help with things not even academic related#they offered to help me fix the screen on my gaming laptop if I bought the replacement part#but I’ve had this massive Bluetooth speaker for over a decade and the battery went out#but it’d probably cost over twice as much to get a new one so I just looked up how to fix it#got the new battery and took it to the IT department for some help not electrocuting myself and because the battery was stuck#I underestimated just how stuck it was because it took over an hour with multiple people’s input#a lot of different attemp methods#and electrocuting myself anyway#but I got the new battery in and it’s working great

aw man, I think my laptop is on its last legs

Started compressing all my cc and now the sims 3 is playable with more than 2 packs!
#i have an pretty old laptop so i usually play with 3-4 packs and even then if i played a family for too long it would get laggy#but i was playing with 5 packs in this save and it worked good! i might add more but at this point i dont think i need it at this point#this family is a rare example of me not playing a house for a while then actually coming back and continuing#i wanted to try have a kid of each occult (i cheated a bit but only because she was a witch and they kept coming out as witches) i couldnt#a ghost since my game was glitched i think and anytime id try and woohoo with a ghost it would reset#but by the time i left she had 6 kids (most i sent to boarding school)#ts3#the sims 3#sims 3#ts3 screenshots#sims 3 screenshots#mine#hodge household#ts3 gameplay#ts3 legacy#sims 3 gameplay

In like a month and a week (okay that’s optimistic, fine, a month and almost two weeks lol) I will fully be able to afford the laptop I've wanted for MONTHS and genuinely I feel like I'm staring at such a bright future now. Maybe I'll be able to play SSO at more than 10fps... maybe I can play Sims at higher graphics settings... maybe I can, idk, get more than those two games or even just all my Sims expansion packs because I'll have 8 times the storage space... maybe I can have large spreadsheets open without breaking my laptop... or even two medium-load programs open at the same time.... the possibilities are truly endless
At least one laptop store had BETTER fucking do like a back to school sale or something. Cmon just give me 20-25% off. It's all I ask (I don't NEED the sale I could still afford it but it has been on frequent enough 20-25% sales that I will NOT buy it full price that would just be stupid)
#not sure what I'll do with my current laptop#maybe put it in storage in the basement for if I ever need a temporary solution lol#would keep it as a work/school laptop but unfortunately it lags even with the medium heavy programs I sometimes need for work/school#and ALSO does not have sufficient storage space#The storage space is probably honestly my largest limiting factor. I have 128gb on this bitch.#The laptop I wanna get has a full TB which is definitely more than I need but the prospect of never having to worry about filling it up?#Urgh. #like i know enough to know what i want. but what makes a computer actually run??? no fucking clue#BUT. i bought a gaming laptop like two years ago and it's already crapped out on me. and it's at a repair shop right now but because#it doesn't have standard parts (it's an acer nitro 5 17-inch) it's gonna cost like $750 to replace the motherboard and get it working again#and i bought the thing for $1500. so what the fuck#plus i've been thinking lately that i want to upgrade to an actual pc because i'm not in school anymore and don't currently need a laptop#and when i DID buy my laptop a couple years ago i didn't do enough research about what specs i wanted and i can't actually run#a lot of the games i want to play. so if i do decide to get it fixed i'd also want more storage and GPU. so it would be even more expensive#SO. i'm like. i can either pay like $1000 to fix my laptop which might crap out again in another year or two and need more uncommon parts#replaced. or i can buy a prebuilt pc which would be like $1800 if i'm getting everything i want.#OR i can build my own pc. and still get everything i want BUT in the process i will also learn how to build a computer (and thus how to#fix any problems that arise) and i can make sure to use common parts that can be replaced if they need to be. right?????#idk i kinda think it might be fun. and i've been wanting to learn the basics of computers for a long time because it seems like very useful#skills to have in life. and people say that this is a good way to learn and that it's not THAT hard to do because there's so many resources#and guides online to help you figure out how to do it.#like am i crazy for wanting to do this????#mine

gonna blow myself up. opened my laptop this morning to see that the right-side hinge for the screen is fucked. its utterly fucked. also as a result the screen on that side is slightly coming off. everything works fine but for how long. it doesnt even close completely right

guys the saddest thing happened to me. i bought red dead redemption and before i could even play it my gaming laptop kicked it because someone bullied me into using it years ago, busted my screen and never fixed it and she finally couldn’t run anymore :( but my husbands laptop can’t even run the game. i don’t think i’ve ever experienced this kind of heartbreak before. it totally doesn’t send me into a cycle of despair whenever i think about it

I wanna say Garry's mod is what got me really into 3D games design and such but no that's not true. I used to make whole ass universes with branching stories i can no longer conceive in Spore galactic edition.
#i used to spend hours and hours on it#but i was still very young and it was my parents computer#by the time i got my own computer i wasn't very interested in it anymore and moved on to other games#but i remember my lil elementary school self sitting at the MacBook looking like a frustrated office man trying to build these worlds#it was one of the few times my mom took note of my interests and talents and helped me get into summer college courses in highschool#because she remembered how passionate i was about building these worlds amd stories and how i would ramble about how excited i was#when i made something work#i think i still have my spore poster i tacked onto the ceiling when i had a bunkbed somewhere#i know its an outdated game at this point and a lot of people laugh at it but it was probably my first major interest#i had the really cool box edition with the art book and everything haha too bad the disk doesn't work anymore#not that my laptop has a cd port lol#anyways just a ramble because i was thinking about it#i have the game on steam but i don't have the galactic edition so i haven't booted it up in a while
