Interview from around a month ago with Vassily Kashnikov about sound in the Pathologic remake.

gamemusic.pl: What are you hoping to achieve using the audio of Pathologic remake in terms of the players’ feelings?

Vassily Kashnikov: Honestly? I’d like the players to experience synesthesia. I’d like them to be unable to tell sound from images. I’d like them to find themselves on a Flemish artist’s painting and forget that what they’re experiencing is merely brushstrokes arranged in a specific order. I’d like to create full-fledged storytelling with sounds, from the music changing to backstreet dogs barking. An ambitious goal, I know, but one can’t grow without ambitious goals.
