Shout-out to Gamechamp3000. She's an enby youtuber who does various video games challenges, from stuff like beating Kirby without pressing Y, beating Sonic and Knuckles without pressing Right, or beating Mega Man 3 without taking damage. She's one of my favorite youtubers and I just wanted to share her videos with people on Tumblr.

OH we know about this!!! Miss Gamechamp had the same issue for her minimum taps challenge for professor layton! The game doesn't look at the shape so much as the movement overall so you get odd results for anything it doesn't consider "normal". So the amongus worked since it technically arched over like a 3 would, just wayyy exaggerated

This is Gamechamp 3000 btw, one of my favorite streamers/youtubers. Part of the reason her hands stopped working was because she does incredibly challenging playthtoughs of games that requires hours of work to produce wonderful content and it put too much of a strain on them.

I had no idea what to expect watching a video of Ape Escape but this game is nothing like what I expected at all

I love the ‘beating sonic adventure without walking’ run (by Traitor) because you literally throw Sonic against a wall until he goes where you need him. This is, naturally, very limited and inefficient.

But that’s fine. That’s expected. The thing that *actually* makes you angry about that run is Tails’s complete lack of ability to do anything, because he doesn’t roll into a ball and bodily throw himself forwards!

Also special mention to Gamechamp3000’s BoTW ‘No pausing’ run, where you do not have the ability to restore health, change clothes, change weapons, equip arrows after you’ve run out, view the map, teleport, change runes, or even save/load the game.

I love coming across youtube videos that are like "I play popular videogame but without pressing any buttons." And you're like "yeah that makes sense."

Calli: It was at that point that I immediately realized there was no way I could finish all that work in time. And to even entertain the idea with any degree of sincerity would inevitably trigger my incredibly unhealthy inability to stop working. you know something that's... incredibly stupid but actually helps me stay motivated to keep going sometimes?

there's a portion at the end of one of Gamechamp's videos in which she quotes a section of Jump Up Superstar from Super Mario Odyssey, and like, I don't know why, but I think about that so often when I am not... doing super great

like, it is literally just a person on youtube quoting "spin the wheel, take a chance /// every journey starts a new romance /// a new world's calling out to you" and I do not know why that stuck with me, or how that emotionally kept me sane over the past 4 years

me: oh man i can't wait to go to bed early tonight so i can wake up early and hopefully get going on some of the things i need to get done rogue gamechamp3000 tulpa telling me how to survive getting shot in a gas station bathroom: the attacks come out too fast to reliably dodge, and there's only one entrance or exit to the arena, so running away like a little baby is not a viable strategy. but dont lose hope just yet. being good at video games is still optional. there's a quirk in the enemy ai where if your health is critical and you're currently suffering from a damage over time status effect, they see it as indistinguishable from a victory. being shot by a bullet immediately sets your health to critical, no matter how much health you have left. it also applies the bleeding status effect, which can be mitigated with a short minigame. try to maneuver yourself against the wall so that you take the shot in your left shoulder and throw yourself to the ground so your arm is over the bullet wound. this allows access to the "apply pressure" minigame while also not triggering the ai to recognize you as an extent threat. grab a couple lattes and continue applying pressure until a non-hostile npc walks in the room and you should be placed into a cutscene which takes you directly to the nearest hospital
