notes: this is another one that I'm not sure how to feel about ;-; but I hope you guys enjoy it TwT fun fact, the whole thing was inspired by an rp that I did with an ai where the robot somehow managed to call me by another person's name while cuddling XD

  The white noise of your favorite movie buzzes through your living room, conversation and dialogue that you’d learned by heart filling the cold space with a false sense of familiarity. You sit cross-legged with your back pressed into the arm of the L-shaped couch in front of the tv, resting your chin on a plushie held close to your chest, looking not at the flickering screen to your right, but at the clock hanging in your kitchen–the only room in the house with the lights on. 

  9:17 pm, it reads. Roughly three hours and seventeen minutes since your boyfriend would typically get home from work. 

  Three hours and seventeen minutes since you’d been waiting on a barstool by the kitchen island where you both usually took your meals. 

  A tiramisu cake and a bouquet of flowers laid out in front of you. 

  Waiting.

  Waiting.

  So much waiting. 

  After an hour or so, you’d gently slid the cake back into its box, distracting yourself with the task of putting the flowers into a vase before they could wilt. 

  ‘He’s late again,’ you think sleepily, eyes struggling to stay focused on the clock, ’he promised he wouldn’t be tonight.’

  Your vision blurs as the long hand hits 12, eyelids too heavy to keep open, mind wandering to the conversation you’d shared with Sunghoon that morning.

  “What time will you be home from work today?” you asked sleepily, sitting up in your nest of blankets, having woken up to find that he was already in the process of pulling his socks on, careful not to wake you. 

  “I don’t know, Love, you know how crazy things have been with this update, I might be late again,” he said absently, looking around for his glasses. “Where the fuck did I put them?”

  He runs a hand through his hair frustratedly, leg bouncing in agitation. It made your heart ache slightly in your chest, disappointment, guilt, and worry mixing confusedly in your stomach. 

  You loved Sunghoon, more than almost anything else in your life, he was the man you’d chosen as your partner, who you’d decided to stand by through thick and thin. But ever since the game company he worked for had started work on a new update, you’d been seeing less and less of him. Always coming home late, tired and stressed, mind wandering and absent even when he was sitting right in front of you. You understood, you really did. Between the two of you he was the one with the bigger income, the burden of taking care of you, of making sure that the two of you could build a future together, was on his shoulders. And it was a responsibility that he did not take lightly. 

  But still. 

  In moments like that, where you slid off your bed to fetch his glasses off the nightstand–blanket wrapped securely round your shoulders to fend off the cold that permeated your apartment since the heating had started to malfunction–moving round the bed to stand in front of him… you couldn’t help but feel like he was breaking your heart. Just a little. 

  It was in the way he only met your eyes briefly when he took them from you before standing and gathering the rest of his things, sighing in what could’ve been frustration or relief, it was hard to tell. 

  It was the way he didn’t stop the flow of movement steadily taking him away from you and towards the office till you called his name twice, stopping in his tracks and fixing you with a look that, though probably unintentional, made you want to bury yourself under your mountain of plushies and hide. 

  “I’m going to be late, (y/n), what is it?”

  You winced. You couldn’t help it. Unaccustomed to hearing him say your name with so little emotion. “Just… could you come back on time tonight?” your voice is barely more than a whisper, tapering off into silence the longer you force your eyes to meet his. “Unless you can’t of course! I’m not saying you have to do anything, I understand that you’re busy and you can’t really dictate when or how things get done but just that it would be nice if you could be home on time tonight since-”

  “Okay.”

  “Huh?” 

  “I’ll make it home on time tonight.” 

  His voice was softer than it had been a moment ago, giving you the courage you needed to meet his eyes. They were still heavy with worry, brows drawn together to dig a permanent crease into the middle of his forehead, but they weren’t quite as cold or distant. He was looking at you, really looking at you for the first time in what felt like forever. 

  It wasn’t much, you knew that. But it was still enough to ease the knot building in your throat. Enough to bring a small smile to your face as you nodded. “Mnm! Okay, I’ll see you tonight then.”

   “Mnm, alright,” he said, a small, slightly strained smile coming to rest on his own lips.

  The apartment was almost completely dark when the lock to the front door chimed, alerting the darkness that someone had arrived. The figure that stepped through was slumped over, backpack sliding off one shoulder with his jacket, shoes abandoned haphazardly. 

  It took a moment for Sunghoon’s mind to catch up to his body, for it to fully sink into his bones that he was home. That he was home and it was nearly 11 pm. Home and the tv and kitchen light were both on, white letters onscreen asking the room if anyone was still watching Netflix. 

  Something in the kitchen caught his eye, a handmade vase his sister had given you for your birthday set out on the kitchen island, filled to the brim with pink, white, and purple flowers he did not recognise. 

  ’Oh’

  It was his birthday. 

  That’s why you’d asked him to come home on time. 

  Sunghoon groaned, face twisting with what could only be described as pain as he quickly set his bag down by the front door and made his way to your shared bedroom. You were usually asleep by this time, unable to pull all-nighters the way you used to back when you were in high school, always out like a light by no later than 10:30 every night. 

  ’But she still stays up every night waiting for you,’ a voice in his head hisses.

  ’I know… fuck I know she does,’ his own voice replies, panic setting in when he finds your room empty, the bed neatly made, not even a dent to show that you’d been laying in it while working on your laptop during the day. 

  ’She’s not here… are you surprised? How long did you expect her to wait?’ the voice whispers, a chill cascading down his spine.

  The panic sets in with more vigor, wrapping round his throat and sending his tired mind into overdrive as he checks the bathroom, your home office, and finally the dark living room. Fear telling him that this was it. 

  He’d really gone and done it now. 

  He wasn’t a complete fool. He knew the moment you stood in the middle of your bedroom floor instead of closing the distance between you and wrapping your arms around his waist, choosing instead to clutch your favorite duvet like a lifeline, wincing when you heard his voice, all because you wanted to ask him to come home… he knew right then that he’d been an absolute idiot. 

  He’d meant to come home early, to be there to make it up to you, to apologise properly, tell you that he’d take some time off as soon as the update was done and dusted. 

  But he didn’t. He let work sweep him up again. Drowning in error messages and buggy code till the sky outside his office windows was filled with the flickering lights of the city at night. 

  And now… now you weren’t there. 

  He’d left you alone. 

  He’d left you alone too long and you were gone. 

  You were gone. 

  You were gone and-

  ’Oh.’

  There you were. 

  The relief when Sunghoon sees you–curled up on the couch, partially hidden by a small pile of blankets and stuffed animals–is immediate.

  He doesn’t really register the way he sighs your name, shoulders relaxing, body melting into the floor the moment he’s in front of you, hand brushing a few messy strands of hair out of your face. The need to feel the warmth of your skin, to confirm that you really are there in front of him more an instinct than a conscious decision. 

  You mumble something in your sleep, tilting your face away from his cold fingertips, eyes fluttering open. “Hoon… hi baby… welcome home,” you say tiredly, shifting under your blankets in an attempt to pull yourself up. 

  Sunghoon feels his heart crack in his chest. Why were you smiling at him? You should've been angry. You should've pushed him away, demanded to know why he was back so late, why he'd been neglecting you in the first place. 

  “Baby? My love… why are you crying?” you ask, reaching for him through the haze of sleep still clinging to your limbs. 

  Choking back a sob, he leans closer, tucking his head under your chin and doing his best to wrap an arm around you from his place on the carpeted floor. “Nothing,” he says, shaking his head, though the tears soaking into your sternum say otherwise, “just missed you…”

  Your vision blurs at his words, a thread of steadily building tension and worry that had been constricting your heart for the past few weeks snapping. “Oh…” your voice shakes slightly, lungs shuddering as your breaths begin to feel lighter, “I’m right here you goose, what’re you crying for?” 

  “Who says I’m crying,” he says, hoarse with tears. 

  “Right right,” you laugh despite the dampness now soaking through your own cheeks, “because my baby never cries, huh?” 

  “Never,” he sniffles, nuzzling closer.

  You stay like that for a while, eventually urging him to sit more comfortably on the couch, allowing you to settle yourself on his lap, his arms still wrapped firmly round your waist, hands occasionally kneading whatever part of you he was in contact with as if he needed to assure himself that you were there, solid and real. 

  He waits until he feels your heartbeat slow to a steady rhythm, trying his best to calm down so his own can match yours, beat for beat. The way it–in his opinion–should. 

  But it wouldn’t, there were words lodged in his throat, and every time he tried to get them out he felt that same panic wash over him, sending his heart into a frenzy. 

  You could feel like beating against your cheek, could sense that there was something he wasn’t saying from the way his grip on you would tighten almost imperceptibly, stiffening as if he was bracing himself for something. A part of you wanted to push him, prompt him and ask what was going through his head, why you’d woken up to the sight of him crying in the dim light of your living room. And you would’ve if he hadn’t beat you to it. 

  “I’m sorry, (y/n).”

  “What do you mean? For being late? I know you can’t help it, Hoon, it’s not some-”

  “No! I mean yes, I’m sorry for being late tonight but… I mean… I mean for everything… for not being… here, with you, like this… as often as I should be, I’m sorry,” he says, the hands at your sides nervously fidgeting with the fabric at your hips, nervously looking between your face and the static tv screen behind you. 

  Sunghoon had never been good with words. You’d learned early on in your relationship that he preferred to show how he felt through his actions. Yet here he was, fumbling through an apology because… because… 

  “My love… did you think I’d left?” you ask, gently cupping his face with one hand, urging him to look at you. 

  Puffy red eyes still wet with tears, messy unkempt hair from running his hands through it all day, tired and probably as emotionally spent as you’d ever seen him and still… still he was the most beautiful person in the world to you. He nodded, hiding his face in your chest again, hands stilling. 

  “Well,” you sigh, resting your chin on top of his head and running a hand through the hair at the back of his head, combing through it in a way he swears only you can, “at least you know you’ve got things you need to make up for…”

  “I know… I forgot for a while… but I know…”

  “That’s okay then,” you breathe, leaning back to kiss his forehead. “But Sunghoon… baby… darling… the love of my life… my little pookie bear… “ you both giggle a little at the pet names, “You know I’d never leave you over something like this right? I was sad, and hurt, and I still expect you to make it up to me by never doing this again but… I still love you, it only hurts because I love you… I’m not going anywhere.”

  Sunghoon pauses for a moment, letting your words sink in. You think that when he looks up, lips slightly parted, it’s to say something in response, but you really should’ve known better. 

  Slowly, giving you enough time to pull away should you choose to, his breath mingling with yours before he steals it away with a soft, lingering kiss. Neither of you is in any rush to take things further. 

  It feels like a small eternity before he pulls away, like time stills for you both, but then he’s pressing his lips to your jaw, butterfly kisses tickling you down to your pulse point, making you giggle so you almost miss it when he says, “I love you too… so much…”

  It isn’t until the next day when you’re shuffling into your home office dressed in one of his oversized jerseys, complaining about a meeting that he remembers the flowers he’d seen on the kitchen island.

  Pulling out his phone, he makes good use of his detective skills (and google lens), remembering all the times you’d spoken to him about the language of flowers, and the meanings behind certain blooms. 

  He wasn’t quite sure whether to laugh or cry once he’d figured it out, opting to dig through the cabinets for a pack of waffle mix to fix you some breakfast instead. He had a lot of apologies to make…

1. If MC didn't work at a convenience store but was his co-worker at a flower shop, would he still flirt with her or would he have a different way of flirting with her?

2. What if the MC were the one to flirt and fell in love with him first ,will he be okay?

3.In the game I thought his dialogue was very good. It was as if he was a calm person. If the MC is a girlfriend who is impatient and talks badly sometimes Will he still love she? I'm afraid his heart will hurt when the MC gets irritated with him.

4.When he gets angry at the MC, what kind of expression does he show? So what should the MC do to make him stop being angry?

5. If the MC really loves making desserts Would he be okay if she let him eat dessert every day?

Sure, I don't see why they wouldn't flirt. You can bet that Damon will go to work with you every day in this scenario. He will pick you up from home and accompany you home. His attachment/ clinginess will become very apparent here.

It doesn't really matter who falls in love first. He'll be more than okay with it :)

Thank you. I actually worry a lot about the dialogue I write and usually think it's very bad 😅 Good that not everyone thinks like me :D Damon will always love you, even if you were yelling at him. He doesn't like to be yelled at of course, but that won't stop him from loving you. He's very patient and understanding, and would always forgive you, even if you didn't apologize. He's too much of a doormat in that regard xD

You can actually see his angry expression in Day 1 when you choose to be dismissive of him. I encourage everyone to try all options if you haven't done that yet. I would say just apologize, give him a hug or kiss and tell him how much you love him. That's all it takes to make him stop being angry. He's a simple man when it comes to you :D

I see that you are into Asccendent Astarion. Do you have and do you plan to make Spawn Astarion comics (even one shots)? Do you think Astarion is truly evil/roten to the core? Do you think he can have his redemption if he is given a chance?

Oh, I've already drawn some Spawn Astarion comics. I just don't title them 'Spawn' because, well, Spawn Astarion is Astarion xD But yes, I'd like to draw some more Spawn Astarion comics.

Well, Ascended Astarion is pretty much written like a disney villian. He wants to take over Baldur's Gate without any remorse, so I suppose you could call those actions 'evil.' But there are also things that surprised me about him. For example, the dialogue options when you romance Karlach with him. If Karlach tells Astarion she wants to die instead of going to Avernus, he is pretty much the worst person ever, and while Spawn Astarion weeps, Ascended Astarion seems to be nearly disgusted by that weakness and acts like, 'well then just go die.' But there is also the loyal side of him, and if Karlach wants to go to Avernus, he will follow. More because he thinks about the power he could get from it than anything else, but still, he actually goes with his partner to the Hells, and that shows how very important bonds are to the character. Maybe it's not really 'love,' but he cares about you, perhaps like you would care about a billion-dollar bracelet (I would care a lot).

The question 'if a character like Ascended Astarion can change' is even more complex (and obviously only the original writer could give you the right answer) because one of the problems about the ascension is that we don't really know 100% what the contract meant. In the end, it was Cazador who made the contract. And I think the game told us enough times that you can never trust a devil. The possibility is high that Astarion lost a part of his former soul. All in all, a 'true' vampire is closer to a mindless monster than ever. And if that is the case, there would probably be no way back.

To me, the ascension stands for a decision a person can take in life. A worldview that you won't get hurt if you have more power than other people. Astarion wants to take that path from the start, and the ascension is like the ultimate agreement.

So to sum it up: Yeah, he is pretty evil, and no, I don't think he could change because, well, why would he want to haha~

I was planning on making a second acct for genshin and it got me thinking how the charas would react in the second acct where their creator basically speed runs the quest XD, how do you think they will react? Yandere-themed, male MC (Aether), Abyss princess (Lumine), platonic children

Consider this as… Creating a second universe, a second world. So everything and everyone would be the exact same, having the same thoughts and same dialogues that would take many minutes to finish. So your first instincts?

It was leveling Aether up to 40 along with the characters that the Mondstadt quest ended so quickly. The battle with Dvalin wasn’t even that badly… And how do these characters react?

Mondstadt arc, Amber felt the light of her God before her speech was being somehow interrupted so quickly. Aether couldn’t quite catch on with what she said, before feeling his body movement speeding up somehow… His eyes were widening every time, and many, MANY characters didn’t understand how and why were their speeches going shorter.

Jean tried finding a solution, she did, really. But while everyone was so confused— this made Aether incredibly happy. Don’t get him wrong, he would like to know more about the world of Teyvat- but just feeling someone guiding him the right path… He couldn’t help but feel so— powerful. The way he defeated Dvalin under just a mere minute.. He was in euphoria. Oh, whoever controlled him, please marry him.

Then there was the Liyue arc. Zhongli has tried stopping the nonsense of the dialogues being skipped, but even his own ability rejected him and now he can’t even speak properly. So many complaints.. So many questions— Liyue and Mondstadt were at this point having a conversation and deals with one another to figure why the hell is Aether getting so strong these past few days.

Until, Xingqiu and a person from Inazuma named “Ayato”, have been doing secret deals with Inazuma, to encounter many characters with a suspicious book shipped from Sumeru. Yes, Kaveh and Alhaitham have visited Mondstadt before the festival— To greet their old witch friend, Lisa. So thanks to Lisa, she has tried giving Diluc and Jean some clues but…

Considering how competitive the blonde and the red haired man is;; you can tell they didn’t really listen to Lisa, so the woman gave up on lending a hand to them and kept talking to Xingqiu about the secret of Sumeru to ship it off to Inazuma. Ayato was the first one to reach it, so now, everyone is ecstatic to hear the theory Xingqiu and Ayato has for now.

It was you all along who controlled the traveler, leveling him and making sure he stayed in shape. The book is scarily detailed about your features and shape, and how you are just a human Godly being speeding everything up. Was everything slow? Why were you speeding up?

Just… Who were you, and why do they feel like they’ve seen you before?

The first account you made, or well, the first “world” of Teyvat— would become anxious. Where have you been? They haven’t seen you since “one week ago”. (Remember, one minute in-game = one second irl) Zhongli was impatiently sitting by his chair, biting his tip of the pen aggressively because he missed you so.

Why did you leave?

Did the Acolytes and him… Scare you?

No. All warmth came back when the sun shone brighter, revealing your name up in the sky again, mentioning you’ve logged back on.

You got so many mails from the Acolytes. The desperate cries, the gifts of primogems and wishes, the salted tears being soaked into a bottle- To say the least, you were pretty shocked of what just happened. There were detailed apology letters, the “last” confession letters;; thinking it was all over therefore they’re confessing to you.

You could even notice when you went to check on your party, that, Lumine’s skin / arm was completely slightly literally peeled. You were horrified. Was this a new update? Did you miss anything? Was this Lumine’s new skin? Can you change it???

“Man what the fuck I just started another Teyvat story by using Aether this time— is mans gonna have peeled skin too?”

Your voice was very quiet, very soft and gentle;; but the Acolytes heard your voice clear enough because you were near the screen. Their eyes would widen, the Shogun would stop her little “festival” of the visions— and stare at the sky with everyone else. Another story of Teyvat?

The Raiden Ei wouldn’t think it would be possible to go across a dimensional world… But clearly you’ve proven yourself YOU could do that. Only you. The Archons are… Confused…. But so excited… Another story? Did you enjoy them that much, that you’ve created another world? Oh… Oh sweet sweet divine.

Venti’s on his knees, hands clapped together and gazed upon the sky with a massive blush crossing his face. Praying, yelling, being in euphoria. “Your grace! We love you so much! We will try our best to keep you more happy!” Was all that left Venti’s lips, before the Acolytes decided to let you have your fun, and tell them about your story of using another twin that technically was related to the female traveler, Lumine.

Lumine glances at you once in a while in complete awe. You… You can control her other twin too… You knew where he was— and you decided to make a world where he isn’t with the Abyss… But question is, who is in the Abyss then?

Curious Acolytes… They couldn’t help themselves but to also feel jealous. They wanted to keep you for themselves but… Now there’s a different version of them. And it’s not wrong to say the second account felt the same way despite not even knowing who you are and what they were doing… They just felt like they suddenly knew their backstories and knew they just existed.

The Abyss princess Lumine, in your second account, was able to even understand who you were immediately, quicker than the others as her hands were nothing but spilled with cherry red. Her sword drawn with a small glow, blood leaking down, her eyes darting up in the sky with a massive blush;; her pupils being replaced with hearts. And her soul? Corrupted. This was her reason of staying in Teyvat. This was her reason of choosing the Abyss over her brother. It’s because of you.

The second account’s world with the Acolytes soon starts to grow on understanding the situation. Their minds and feelings have gone completely out of hand, and they don’t know why. The story of the God, you, being read about… Just twisted their minds and hearts. Shaky breaths, scratching their skins, it was a mere second they could see you up in the sky too.

Oh good gracious…

Yae Miko has insisted herself, from now on, the Inazuma civilians will now only write the story of how the God looks like. Something the other Yae Miko wouldn’t do. Oh, did you think this was over? Haha. I blame you for making a second account, dear.

You see, if the accounts— worlds— knew they were created by you, then it’s obvious they’re trying to show off which world is better.

They will always find a way to outshine the other— which lead them having the same goal. They want to be with you. Gifts, more gifts, and gifts again. You were gifted with primogems. You at this point, didn’t even say anything else as you had to be very grateful of what you were gifted with. For Hoyoverse, clearly has favorites.

Ayaka challenging the other Ayaka by dancing is something you could notice by. The other Ayaka would seem stiff while the other would be more smooth and elegant- not that you gave a shit by… Or, perhaps noticing Venti’s small mistake on a song while the other Venti did it with no mistakes. Not one bit.

Perhaps Diluc and Kaeya getting along more better than the other Diluc and Kaeya. Such immature boys, who would ever want to fight by such little things? Totally not them.

Or, again, maybe you could notice the quality of the two worlds. The high intelligence, Alhaitham suddenly knowing more about the Archons and Khaenri’ah, Dainsleif flooding you and the traveler with so many lore and informations, Nahida dumping you a whole fucking book about the war, the other children damaging more and more.

Interested, to say the least… But being tired, you never really cared about stuff like these. You still thought this was part of the lore of the characters doing such things, and somehow, you ended up getting Snezhnaya, Fontaine, and even Natlan into your map that had you going: 🗿⁉️

Since when did you even have that much storage?

Now there’s more characters— and the Hydro Archon was there too? Oh… Oh shit. If the Hydro Archon is there, that means clearly the other world of that said account you’re in right now has to do better. Cute, they got Snezhnaya and other nations? Baby shit.

You were now just peacefully collecting papers and things to defeat Celestia;; feeding your characters and pampering them. Doesn’t matter which account, because why in the ever loving Archons is Celestia even released? You’re going to die like this without a spoiler alert from Hoyoverse.

You’ve got whatever you needed, didn’t you? If that wasn’t enough, then the Acolytes will do more. Xiao and Hu Tao will erase every ruin guards. You hated them so much didn’t you? It’s only right they eliminate those bastards.

The Fatuis, are no better either in condition. The Tsaritsa has sent many and many workers to kill off innocence, and some people who are never good enough for you.

Say for example the perfume lady and her crafting boyfriend who were making and crafting potions for a way of letting those two into your place, and take you in for the care… Yeah they absolutely died too. They weren’t safe to begin with.

So, Ymir was full of shit or rather, lost his marbles! I've made some more SOTE progress!

1) So, first I was exploring the various corners I've missed (again, Val's advice since I was despairing to do anything but 'important' points gvghgb) Went in order!

It dropped an incantation that is like those dragon head ones.. but like, bear head one gfhhhg And there was another variant of Brave Set nearby (the clothes of bear-hunters)

3) Coincidentally, the very next guy was using this same incantation! It was sending a series of roars that knock the person off! AND he was in the last Mausoleum that I did want to find very much!

AND he also was a Redmane!! They have so many distinct friends of Radahn in this DLC xD

4) The next one was a forge and I was done with running across them orange woods. This is when I finally realized that the big rocky guys needed to be hit while back turned, in the weak spot on their backs, whereas I've been hitting them in the front this whole time... :^)

So, they just freeze eventually? It kind of seems like eventual fate of all rock creatures I guess, since they can't age. There are Ancient Dragons in Farum Azula who are just walls now for one

I instantly had a feeling that this would be a good summon seeing how much damage and defence those guys had, and hoooo boy was I right!!

6) OKAY SO I finally did it! @fareehaandspaniards REJOYCE!!! Basically Metyr and Fingers predate Elden Ring/Beast, because it also was a shooting star and Metyr was the first:

I struggled with this boss as you remember, and wasn't even trying to go without summons but just couldn't find the right ones xd THIS guy though staggered her like two times letting me do critical, and lasted ungodly amount of time (until magic attack blasted him since rocks are wear to magic in this game)! But he was SO helpful?

So it was this guy causing ungodly stagger and me stabbing bleed with Mohg's spear jfghyj I also finally realized to NOT, no matter what, get myself caught on the side of her body 🙄 That attack with rapidly moving fingers from her side is NOT survivable nghgf If anyone here makes the same mistake: don't, just always face her.. face, lol

7) Also my idea confirmed! When I first saw this location, all watery and the giant "tubes" going from here to "above", I saw it like the giant fingers so it is some hammerspace version of womb water! Turned out the grace of this place marks location as Finger Birthing Grounds, so yeah!

8) My instant reflex was to go back to Manus Metyr! ...and I got attacked when I had hands full of runes because I forgot to spend them after the boss 🤡 I didn't die, but NEVER forget to level up lol

Jolan first attacked me as an invader, saying we've hurt Ymir so much that he now wished our death, and then Ymir was there as a boss (thankfully a weak one). ?? I was just sitting here like "wait a second, the whole operation was your idea?" because Ymir gave me the map here?

9) So, I started to think about it and recalling what happened before. His last map was captioned "May you join the glimmering stars above" which was sinister, but so was he so I didn't give it an extra thought back then! Now it does seem like he intended for us to not survive that encounter, like same sacrifice thing as with "meeting" Rykard, but there was more

Back when Anna attacked us, I assumed she was sort of enemy. I did tell Jolan about it, but her dialogue was vague:

I interpreted it as Anna getting on the way and Jolan implying that she will or will not kick her ass depending on what Ymir says. But oh boy, seems like I was wrong.. When you kill Anna, the text 'RECUSANT VANQUISHED' appears; the term reserved for Tarnished that hunt other Tarnished! So, knowing that Anna habitually kills people (her own?), and knowing that I was not supposed to kill Metyr despite being sent directly to her, Jolan's reaction to us telling about Anna can be seen as: 'Damn, I started to really like you, but turns out that Ymir wants to sacrifice you (?) and I can't speak against him so pretend that my ally did not try to kill you, okay? :/' but I wasn't aware just HOW right I was!

10) Turned out that Jolan also had the decision split between Iris of Grace (gives Spirit Ashes) and Iris of Occultation (gives her weapon)! Like it was with Queelign! Damn, they made SURE that people either replay this DLC or talk with other players for full lore x) Respect!

11) ALSO turned out that this whole time, there was a secret way to drop atop of the upper section of Rabbath Rise from Shaman Village, where you find a person in the same set sitting in the same fashion as inactive puppets of Seluvis! And it was ANNA, that we could combine with Ashes of Jolan!

I asked Val about it, the missing word was 'and pliant'.

12) I also asked him about the 'doll' part, because by all means it should have been 'puppet'! He confirmed that it IS the same term in original because he was confused too and checked earlier: 'doll' here is 傀儡, and is the same used for Puppets in the main game. So, obviously, they were trying to save the letters space! And still failed... XD

13) So, yes, a totally normal thing for Carians to do! Granted, Nox were the ones who started the Puppet dids, but Carians are basically infamous for making Puppets, which Ymir is!

That makes it apparent that Anna attacked us due to him wanting it :^) I assume we were supposed to be food for Metyr, because since he lost his shit over her death he needed her for something. The power to bring Yuri back to life, I suppose.

This made me wonder whether Jolan herself was a puppet? We don't know whether they can still talk and think from the base game, maybe they can! What we do know is that puppets will attach spiritually attach to the master and unquestionably do their bidding (which Jolan does), that they are crafted through blue star shards thus uniting their fates since blue stars control fates of humans (and Ymir and Jolan do affectionately call each other their stars), and that a puppet can be given to someone else despite who made it (since Seluvis can gift his and we now can use Anna).

Jolan is not referred to as a puppet, so maybe her devotion and dependence bordering insanity happened to be her true feelings and not some magic (yet it wasn't the case for Anna, apparently...).. But interesting thing to consider. (LOL I can SEE Ymir simps jumping at me and asking how the heck Jolan's behavior is supposedly magic and not normal reaction gfggnfhhg)

I already read that Greater Will stopped communicating with her, but interesting information! Besides.. the staff to cast sorceries AND incantations sounds SUPER useful! No more switching between seals and staffs xD

The second weapon is simply Metyr's head that mentions there is an eye at the center of it. Yes, I could tell from getting blasted with lasers hfhhjj

your grovyle and dusknoir pieces matter so much to me because you capture the very essence of how much the green gecko bastard and his 7.11ft tall ass ghost-guy-that-was-sent-to-kill-him-but-whoops-something-happened matter to each other and just how they change the other while still being all awkward at certain times because they are in a situation that involves feelings in which they are both not used to (grovyles emotional tendencies where he pushed down things and thoughts that would otherwise doom the mission he was on and dusknoir just being completely foreign to them because he strives from a world where kindness and love is seen as a vulnerability so he just strayed far from things that will inevitably stab him in the back) and how they try to navigate it while having to bear the annoyances of the other but still viewing them in high regard nonetheless. i dont go here too much but i figured i may as well say it because i think you're cool and because you draw those two annoying little studs so well. have a good day scribz

They are sooo important to each other, I don't think we appreciate enough how pivotal they are to each other's development, especially grovyle to dusknoir's. Still cant believe the ghost's parting word and thought was a a most thankful message to his old enemy, thanking him for giving his life meaning, for helping him not regret having truly *lived*, not just survived. I wish Dusknoir got some more dialogue after coming back to life, but those being his last words, in addition to him constantly referencing grovyle's speech, just goes to show how far he's internalized grovyle's words.

And the way Grovyle genuinely sees and reaches towards Dusknoir's inner goodness, *while* he's actively being betrayed, is beyond words. Grovyle loves his friends deeply and by this point he's clearly gone far enough to consider Dusknoir close to that status. Maybe Dusknoir protecting him from a blow hit too close to home and changed the dynamic in his eyes from "temporal ally" to just "ally". It can't be a coincidence that Grovyle opens up and explains his motives and ideas after Dusknoir takes the attack for him.

You just can't get one without the other in my mind, it's how they contrast and mirror each other, it's how the game switches the tables and flips their alignment so seamlessly. The thief-captor dynamic turning on its head once you see their true colors. How dusknoir appears more mature and put together thanks to his charm and social skills, only for him to end up learning and looking up to Grovyle, whose more developed life philosophy and selfless objective end up convincing Dusknoie to fight for something beyond himself.

Special Episode 5 is one of rhe best pmd chapters/story out there, and it's the most basic premise of Grovyle and Dusknoir working together. The writers developed them so well in conjuction that they can't be separated in my head.

But even then their contrasting personalities makes them so fun to put them into situations, despite the ares wjere they might overlap. they're both great but they belong together. And celebi just adds even more flavour to the mix by adding someone so radically different from them in her view and approach to things (seeing as shes one of the onlu characters explicitly in love, maybe even in priorities outside world-ending cataclysms xD). Future trio in post-canon is simply too rich, even the crumbs from PSMD links them together and that's enough for me.

(And also just in general the vibes are so good, we make fun of dusknoie for the "looking nervous having your back exposed to me" but grovyle's "you cling to me beyond expectation" and "i surrender, do with me as you will". BESIDES ALREADY THINKING ABOUR DUSKNOIR WAY MOEE THAN ANYONE ELSE.

he goes up to partner during the sunrise and goes "thinking about dusknoir?" whilw it turns out partner is thinking of how much they love the beach and their friend 😭😭 and then grovyle says in his letter "hey watch out for dusknoir bc he WILL BE BACK I KNOW HIM" and hero and partner jusr go "oh yeah that guy. remember that guy??" like THEY DONT REMEMBER WHO TRIED TO KILL THEM A DAY AGO?? 😭😭 why they dgaf lmao)

Is it just me or is eggman kinda chill woth amy? I was playing frontiers as amy, when i noticed that all the dialogue between her and eggman is kinda chill, especially when compared to the other characters.

Plus, then there's his egglog about her, where he's kinda, sort of proud of her? I dont think pride is the right term for it, but its the best i can use to describe it.

I mean sure, he did hold a gun to her head at one point, but it feels less out of malice, and more useing her as a bargening chip. Which ultimetly, he would do to any character regardless if it benefited him. Even sage if pushed to it.

Im not too framilar with sonic games though, so i could be wrong about this, but thats the general vibe ive got from them. Deffinetly not freinds, but not as at eachothers throats as i thought they'd be.

Im curiouse to hear your take on this though, since you seem very knowledgable on eggman lol.

Eggman does have an interesting attitude towards Amy in Frontiers. There's definitely been development in the way he feels about her over time, the most significant aspect being he's literally even thinking about her as her own person at all- with his own admission that he used to just see her merely as a pawn to ensnare Sonic in the memo

However now he's seeing her as her own person and calling her clever and tenacious, so clearly something changed. It seems she's proven herself to be more than that in his eyes, likely as he's seen/heard more of her doing things on her own and showing her strengths, independence and determination to work towards her goals

But also not without him saying that he feles she had trouble finding herself, so it seems he thought nothing more of her than just being a pawn to use as bait for Sonic to come along and thought of her as an obsessed fan who's life completely revolved around Sonic. So now she seems more than that to him, he feels it's something to commend her for

He's glad her life doesn't seem to completely revolve around his loathsome arch nemesis lol. It's funny how he says Sonic has an ego too, he's the exact type of guy to groan about someone having an ego or accusing them of such even when they don't because nobody should have an ego or even anywhere near as much as regular confidence like him XD

He's never really seemed that antagonistic towards Amy herself beyond the times he's kidnapped her and that was only with luring Sonic in in mind. He hasn't insulted her in the same ways/as often as with most of the other characters beyond calling her "that kid" condescendingly in Adventure and I think that says a lot about how he used to feel too

He probably saw her as just a little fan girl that wasn't any serious threat for a while and was just a pawn to lure in the ones he was actually interested in fighting so he didn't put that energy into it. However like all the rest, if she causes him trouble and gets in the way he will absolutely become immediately hostile and violent towards them, of course

But it's like he never really considered her an adversary and really just another common enemy just for being on Sonic's side. He couldn't see an identity in her besides chasing after Sonic, just like how he looks down on Tails living in Sonic's shadow. In his eyes nobody should center their lives around Sonic regardless of how true that is lol

Because be probably thought lowly of her in that sense but otherwise just didn't really think of her at all besides that, it probably made it easier to respect any accomplishment she made. When she proves herself to be a worthy opponent he will praise that, we know he's even willing to give credit where it's due with Sonic and Tails too

He seems to like to recognize and commend his enemies on their skills and I feel it's because praising them for their skill and strengths proves his own for being able to hold up against them in battle. Because if they have respectable skills and strengths, what does that say about him for being their absolute biggest recurring threat?

He praises both Sonic and Amy for their tenacity, which is something he of course has a limitless amount of himself, which supports that. Also for the cleverness he praises in Amy. It's like he can see himself in them in a sense and with that it makes even more sense, praising them praises himself, it makes him even more tenacious to be so in the face of their own tenacity

With that it makes sense he projects having an ego onto Sonic too lol. He has confidence but not in the immense egotistical way Eggman does- but because he doesn't believe Sonic's confidence is anywhere near as deserved as his own with the most inflated ego in the world, he thinks anyone else being confident in themselves is egotistical :P He's glad Amy isn't fuelling it

But yeah he's come a long way from thinking a bunch of Sonic's friends were just insignificant common enemies. He'll always become directly hostile the second they directly cause him problems/significantly aid Sonic in doing so but besides that he didn't think much of them, either lowly or not much at all. In Amy's case especially he seemed to hardly see her as enemy but now she's proven herself to be a worthy opponent now that he can see that she's her own person

He's not one to downplay their skills- well except for when he's trying to knock down their confidence in battle lol- when he recognizes them for how they can prove his own. They give him a challenge and he can prove himself and his own strengths even in his failures for still being able to hold up against them and the way that he still manages to keep coming back to try again, also proving his tenacity

In the Egg Memos, it seems he's thought deeper about all of Team Sonic as individuals, who they are, and what they can do rather than just being Sonic's insignificant friends over time. He shares little thoughts on Amy, Knuckles, and Tails in the memos like Sonic in the actual cutscenes. But it's interesting how it seems he has the least bad to say about Amy while he's at it

Their convos in Final Horizon with Amy do seem to be some of the most chill. Eggman acts passively annoyed at being approaching like "what do you want, if you're looking for Sonic he's not here" still acting like her life does revolve around Sonic to her face despite the contrary of what he says about her finding herself in the memos lol, and Amy saying things he doesn't like and sassing him and him getting defensive and correcting her which is funny

But there's not the same immediate hostility between them than say, Sonic and Knuckles. And he seems willing to discuss his knowledge with her, I mean he loves showing it off to all of them but something feels a bit different in his way of going about it, seems a little less condescending than with some of the other characters. They're more casual despite still bickering a bit but they can tolerate each other to get the job done

Eggman isn't the type to hold back on anyone if they get in his way though, so he immediately becomes extremely hostile and violent if she gets in his way, like when she interferes in SA2 and he tries to deal with her and Tails jumps in to save her. He was also willing to kill her the times he kidnapped her, with the way he says if she values her life she'll do as he says when he held her hostage with the gun to her head and threatened that "she WILL die" in Crazy Gadget in SA2

So there's definitely malice towards her in certain situations but yeah when he kidnaps her it's mostly just him seeing her as a pawn to get what he's really after with Sonic, rather than specifically as an enemy to take down, aside from when she specifically gets in his way. But he also seems to think more highly of her as a worthy opponent now, which could potentially lead to that actually changing and he sees her as more of a formidable adversary to fight! I'm interested to see where it goes

Today I felt like doing some DD sketches with my non-preferred hand (RH means right hand) because I'm currently playing it (now up to episode 5 and just started the second trial) and, I might share my thoughts on the game when I'm done, so fair I'm mostly positive but still kinda mixed on the game :/ but I also got a lot of questions that I hope will be answered!

In other news I have now pre-ordered AAI collection for switch because I wanna make sure I got a copy as soon as it comes out! I've never played AAI 1/2 and Miles Edgeworth is my fave AA character so I'm super hyped!

As with Patch 5, I have compiled my favorite Patch 6 patch notes (the exciting ones and the hilarious ones) so you don't have to.

First of all, the Highlights section has some VERY nice QoL changes:

"You can now dismiss a recruited companion from your party while speaking to the companion you want to replace them with." (Fuck yes, this is such a small annoyance but it really adds up over time.)

"When a dialogue triggers automatically, the game will now try to prioritise your avatar character as the main speaker." (I spent literally like half an hour trying to ensure Hector got the conversational lead when walking into the vault with the Stone Lord for my liveblog post, so this fills my heart with DEEP joy.)

"The Elixir of Hill Giant Strength now applies its effects when thrown." (HUGE deal for Hector's party in my liveblog, as @zenjestrr has pointed out to me - Jaheira can hurl it onto Hector, Karlach, and Minsc together!)

Some general happy-making improvements (some for things in Act 3/epilogue that I haven't gotten to yet but which sound very positive):

As I said last time - this game has a breadth of scope and ambition that repeatedly takes my breath away and I am mindboggled at the amount of work being put into it.

Well, long story short, the Fandom "wiki" system is horrible. It's choked with ads, and from what I've heard, the company behind it is seemingly trying to position themselves as like... the authority on all fandoms, everywhere?? They've vacuumed up individual fan wikis and made them less useful.... and get mad about people hosting wikis anywhere besides their platform, as though they own the basic concept of a fan wiki. this is just what I recall off the top of my head, though. There are posts out there that go into more detail about the problems of the system. Unfortunately, it's also sometimes the quickest reference for certain things, at least in my experience. I say "ugh" about it the same way someone might say "ugh" about Jerry XD

As for undertale's text! I can't easily link it directly right now but @undertale-encyclopedia has not only screenshots of all the dialogue, they also link a Google spreadsheet containing all text from the game. I've referenced it many times for my own work, so hopefully it'll help you :>

I'll answer the second one first. I've never played Hollow Knight myself, but watched a playthrough of it. I never got into it as much.

I've done a fair bit of Bug Fables art, some of it for MasaeAnela when she played through it on Twitch.

First I'll share a little Bug Fables version of a bug I saw at work one day.

This was made in response to Masae getting endlessly distracted by sidequests in her playthrough. XD

Leif has ice powers, and one of his moves requires the player to hit a button as it pops up. If they fail, the power backfires and Leif does a little animation where his hand freezes. Masae kept pressing the wrong button, so this came to mind. XD

At some point I decided to draw them as dragons. There are a few more down below, but there's a spoiler bit of text, so it goes in the depths lol.

YES! New skyrim fan! I finally started playing the game 12 years after its release and I am HOOKED! I’m gonna use this ask as an excuse to ramble so uh, long post beware xD

Okay so my first ever run has been the most chaotic shit. I just finished the main questline, but it was a JOURNEY to get there.

I’ve been playing with my gf @bucca2 who introduced me to the game. The first thing she did, as soon as we got out of the tutorial (and got mods working, including multiplayer), was take me to a little farm up north to meet somebody. “You liked Kefka, I think you’ll like this one,” she said. Cryptic and concerning! And I found this wagon and met Cicero.

To quote Aby, “Yeah, honestly, it was like taking a kid to Disneyland for the first time. There was this quiet wonder in his voice like he was discovering magic was real...honestly, I wish I had been recording. It was very adorable. He was hooked from Cicero's first voice line.”

Dude, when I say “blorbo at first sight” I mean I was down bad in an instant. I was writing fanfic based on that interaction alone (with some helpful hints from Aby). I had dreams about the bastard on night one. I got obsessed.

That feral enthusiasm did not wane as the game went on, because I went straight for the Dark Brotherhood questline. I was the Listener before I had even spoken with the Greybeards. I even updated a mod from an old Skyrim edition myself so I could marry Cicero. I was all about that wretched little fool and it was making a fool of me.

With Cicero as my first companion, I went onto the Thieves’ Guild quests next. Did you know that you can fail the tutorial pickpocketing quest? Because that’s what I did! They recruited me anyway. I got up to the Sepulcher quest, but never finished it, so I just have the skeleton key xD

When we assassinated the vampire in the DB questline, I got infected, and decided “eh, why not!” So I became a vampire. This made the inheritance of Bloodchill Manor extra fun — I simply sat back and watched the bloodbath! I only had to lift a finger when the Dawnguard came knocking xD

I went to the Bards’ College next. We’d “acquired” an expansion mod for it (do not get me started on other modders who charge for their shit. i have strong 🏴‍☠️ opinions) so that was a fun extra questline.

Up next was some Daedric prince shenaniganry. I got the Ebony Blade and did some light murderizing to buff it, then met Sanguine for some debauchery. My stealth archer build got even more broken when I stopped by to pick up Barbas from Clavicus Vile. Immortal dog to tank for me? Yes please!

Then I did the Dawnguard questline! I accidentally-on-purpose cheesed the pilgrimage to go fill the ewer. I got so lost in the Vale that I found the palace treasure room when I was only on shrine two. Seeing Serana shove the snow elf bastard off the cliff was fun, though I did miss the loot…

After that, I decided it was time for some warmongering, and signed up for the Imperial Legion. Which was a little awkward, considering I’d assassinated the Emperor already, but what they don’t know can’t hurt me! I had great fun in the battles where I simply perched up high and picked Stormcloaks off, like some sort of nefarious gargoyle. Also, General Tullius? would. He also saved my ass when I got lost in the Whiterun battle and found by 7 or so Stormcloaks, and he tanked while I shot them down. Sometimes the game’s mechanics make for great story :P

Finally, it was time for the mainline quest. I tolerated Delphine until she was no longer useful, at which point I turned to Parthurnax for guidance. Being told to go on a grand quest to find the Elder Scroll I already had was pretty entertaining, especially considering I’d done the same thing with the dragonstone from the first dungeon (which I’d gone to early to retrieve the golden claw). It was also funny as hell when I tried to talk my way into heaven and the only faction dialogue choices I had where the two that the dude didn’t like xD

After that, I went, “well now what? …probably lunch.” So I went and munched on somebody, as a vampiric treat. That’s where I last left my playthrough! I’ve had an absolute blast with the game, even if I am playing it ass-backwards. I may go do the Dragonborn DLC content next. If you have any recommendations for more shit to get up to, I’d love to hear it! Especially if it involves murder xD

well, you might've already figured it is a game. you probably also heard it is about being stuck in a time loop on the last day of your party's quest. but tis not all!

you see, you play for a mentally ill guy stuck in the prison of their own making that would never tell anyone what he's going through :3. . . yeag. honestly part of the reasons I latched onto this game so much is cause Siffrin is like an anti-Senshi: you notice behaviors in yourself and you're like "oh no. Siffrin would do that. so I shouldn't!!". the callout game is insane in this game

apart from Siffrin, the whole cast is so great! and this is probably more of a general statement about the game being done and written so well, but the characters are written so well!! each and every one!! truly, it's such a treat interacting with them, and dialogue made me wheeze or cry or rejoice sooo many times. also it goes funky with punctuation/pacing which I just LOVE (I mean, can you tell from my writing XD). now, this is more on the mechanical side, but the game offers so many quality of life functions that allow you to skip dialogue/interactions you already know and only experience the ones you would like to change or just hear again (and again and again and again and)

long story short, great damn game. the exploration of grief, mental illness, change/stagnation, gender, asexuality&aromanticism felt like a targeted attack sometimes and it made me so terminally unwell that after watching the entire play through (there are several on yt, but the one by Jello Plays Games is a fandom favorite) I got the game to play for myself!! and honestly, it does feel different to experience it on your own and make decisions for yourself: there is just so many possibilities to explore!! the mechanics are super easy but there are just soooo many things and people to interact with

isat made me unwell, broke me, broke me harder then fixed me up and it felt like a warm hug, it made me feel more me but also rewrote me on a molecular level somewhere in the neocortex.............

i'm certainly not a deep dive lore master or anything (i super appreciate the people who are tho. like that's one of my favorite ways to consume lore, have other people tell me about it <3 ), but i haven't seen anyone else mention about Ghilan'nain and the halla. here's my maybe crackpot theory :) (or maybe not, idk i sort of assumed everyone thought this too but i haven't seen it mentioned in evanuris discussions that i've come across at all) (ill try to cite what sources i remember off the top of my head but i haven't done a full replay in awhile)

since the reveals about Ghilan'nain making monsters out of people (in tevinter nights mostly, i'm not up on the comics), I've always kind of assumed the halla WERE also once people. Like twisted into the beautiful deer and the way the dalish care for them is wrapped up in that, like they vaguely remember that the halla were once their loved ones (the way the dalish worship only partially remembered bits of who the evanuris were). We also learned from Trespasser that the Evanuris were fairly cruel and enslaved their people (and also presumably USED the elves for a variety of unsavory things) .

Also we do get the new versions of the halla in the horrors of hormak story like Ghil was iterating on a previous idea (as all artists do, like okay sure the pretty deer were nice, but what if i added more INSECT? XD)

The way the dalish refer to the halla has always been a little off to me, even for a sacred animal. They're more integrated into the clan- they're not a separate entity to be worshipped or revered. Afaik they don't ever eat or kill halla on purpose* (which does fit with some sacred animals in certain cultures for sure, but it feels more personal with the dalish somehow? most cultures where there's a sacred animal you don't eat, it's because it's special to a particular god).

from inquisition: "The first thing you must understand about the halla is that they are not our servants. They are not our pets. They are our brothers and sisters"

While they are heavily associated with Ghil, they're not really part of her worship, they're kind of separate from it (as far as we've seen). You have halla keepers/herders in dao but they're not really shown in the other 2 games- mostly the whole clan seems to care for them communally).

I believe merrill mentions (in da2 i think?) that without the halla, the dalish are nothing like the clan can't survive without them, they're so integral to their culture. Obviously this is partially how they move around and they're particularly suited to pulling the caravans through deep forests etc, but maybe there's something more to it.

They've also littered lots of bread crumbs of bits of dalish culture that the dalish have pieced together that we now know to be incorrect (or at least not the whole story)- the fenharel statues, the vallaslin, the evanuris themselves, the veil etc.

These are all half-remembered things- they remember that they were important/related to certain gods, but not why or how (as solas mentions in ambient dialogue "the dalish remember fragments of fragments")

there's also the codex entry on ghilan'nain in dai with the story andruil turning her into the first halla and leading Andruil back to the hunter who hurt her (tho she'd previously cursed him so it def feels like there's more to that story than the parable lets on)

"And since that day, the halla have guided the People, and have never led us astray, for they listen to the voice of Ghilan'nain"

i've seen a couple people point to this story as evidence that maybe andruil made the halla instead, tho we know that Ghil was making monsters for Andruil specifically to hunt so I think it could go either way? Maybe it's both.

The evanuris also feel a bit greek god inspired, and Andruil ofc has parallels in Artemis directly. Who was also always turning people into deer and things, so that could support an Andruil making people into halla theory instead. It could even be slightly less nefarious than Ghil making monsters, perhaps Andruil would turn favored subjects into halla as a warped "reward". ( <- i have no evidence for this outside of that one story but it is an interesting thought). Or maybe also to hunt them, could see that being a thing.

This would still explain why the Halla are so attuned to the dalish particularly (and vise versa) and also give some more of that good crunchy HORROR reveals to their interpretations of the past.

Either way, I think there's SOMETHING going on with the halla and I hope we get some more dalish culture reveals with the Veilguard a bit ( even if it's just in supplemental material that comes out with it or like a codex entry).

*halla leather *is* used as a crafting material in dai but this might be separate (gameplay vs lore). in dao, if Elora's halla has to be put down, she only gives you its antlers (which would probably have been shed naturally anyway since they're fairly deer-like). If you attack/accidentally kill the golden one in front of the exalted plains dalish in DAI, i believe they did attack you on sight (but that might also have been a bug, i remember that quest being tricky- like if the wolves or rando bandits attacked & killed the halla, inky still got the blame) ** I'd also love to see Merrill again like all of the events in DAI/DATV would be her jam like I just want to hear her thoughts/have her geek out a bit even when the world is ending (i have limited hope we will tho, since she was written by mary kirby T.T tho she also wrote varric and we still have him around so idk maybe)

So I've been sitting on this thought for a bit but. I want to make an informal propaganda post for Gaiaonline! It's a site that's got its pros and its cons, but I feel like it'd really appeal to some of the tumblr crowd, and also I just like to gush about things I like and Gaia is one of those things

So: What is Gaiaonline?

Gaiaonline is essentially a social/avi dressup site, with a lot of love poured into the site's setting! The big draw of course is having an avatar to personalize and plenty of items to dress them up in, but there's other features as well:

Such as numerous minigames (more on one of those later), and even manga featuring backstory and escapades of the site's npcs (don't let the cool panel crops fool you though - a lot of it is silly gag bits lol)

There's also a few options for socializing, as well - you can of course dm people, but there's also forums, profile comments, and statuses. The forum even has semi-recently gained the option for night mode! The site also has their own selection of emojis, some standard and some... not so much xD

Speaking of profile - you can have a decently customizable profile! Gaia provides options in-site, but if none of those are your cup of tea then you can use an external url (or photobucket, but they both watermark nowadays and also are switching to pay-only accounts so I don't recommend that option) - you can add images on the profile, and a background, and have multiple text boxes that can be customized for various uses! Gaia also has aquariums that can display on your profile, but I don't use those anymore so I can't say much on them.

So your avi isn't the only thing you can stylize! Speaking of which... How about those avis?

You can get a wide array of items, and with the right inventory the world is your oyster! There's even a slew of franchise/fandom-inspired items, either from old promotions or just designs made as homages!

(Example Adventure Time-inspired item on the marketplace - Many users sell their items there, so it's wise to check in from time to time!)

Gaia also historically turns to its userbase for item inspiration, and sells the winning designs from the contests it hosts in the shops, so you could show off your own design tastes if you feel like they're lacking your dream item.

^ Example store - complete with a storefront where you can see other user's avatars out front if they're shopping there! The screencap of Moira the NPC is from the middle of the Halloween event they host yearly, hence her dialogue box and Harley Quinn Cosplay.

Don't have money? Not to worry! Gaia offers "Daily Chance" items and money, sometimes including random chance mini-events that can give you some sweet loot AND a fun time.

Still, maybe you want something more... Interactive? Not to worry!!

Allow me to introduce.... zOMG! A flash game - yes you heard that right, FLASH game - where you can run around and kill things, take on quests from npcs, and earn more gold, make friends and more! As stated, it's a flash game, so they had to come up with some workarounds - but they offer suggestions on-site that work with some success in my experience! The drawback is it can be a bit laggy, but sometimes it's just fun having an excuse to see your avatar run around and shoot things. Or slash things. or fling flaming meteors at things. You know how it is.

All in all, it's a very silly site, but one that I find holds a lot of charm and a place in my heart even now. I can't recommend it enough, and hope this appeals to someone reading. :)

P.S. : CONS OF GAIA

This post is already too long so I put cons (and some general disclaimers) under the cut, feel free to read at your discretion:

So as much as I like to gush, there are some notable cons to Gaia, which feel noteworthy to share. I only spend my time in the areas of the site covered above, so apologies if there's anything I fail to mention:

The economy. Good Lord, the Economy. It got so bad Gaia literally had to change from Gaia gold to Gaia platinum because the inflation got so bad - and then they never properly addressed the setup that led to this in the first place. If you buy from the Gcash stores or from the regular storefronts, it's nbd - but the marketplace with its auctions and its user-established prices can get downright brutal. Gaia has also taken recently to flooding the daily chance items with high-quality items from days past - which may not be the worst (especially not for new users) but I do strongly suspect it isn't helping the economy front much.

GCash - Personally I find this a drawback, but a lot of Gaia's push, especially of late, is GCash. This makes sense - there aren't a lot of users left atm, so no point in hosting events, but it does get a little old removing announcements for items only available for real money sometimes. This is something I hope would see a change though, if enough people decide to join.

Filters - there are unfortunately some curses and the like banned to keep the site 'friendly' to younger ages which. Sometimes backfires on their own announcements or npc dialogue. You can type and send the word, iirc, but it will get automatically filtered accordingly. That said, avatar items can get exceedingly raunchy, or have curse words in their displays even, so the bar is.... Nebulous, here.

Flash Player - Gaia has been around for a long time, since 2003. A lot of functions are defunct or buggy, or in the case of zOMG! as mentioned above, require an outside party tool to help it run smoothly. They do what they can do address it but it has impacted things and probably will continue to do so.

Social media - I would say this site doesn't quite qualify as such, as the ability to share media is middling at best. You can post writing, or art, using the forums or the journal function, but it's far from ideal. Other aspects, like profile comments, can be clunky for communication purposes, so while Gaia has some decent options, it's not up to speed with the big giants in social sites nowadays.

Mobile app? - there IS an app for phones. But at the moment, it's only for dressing up your avatar - none of the other functions are available. If you use this site for avi dressup, this is no big deal, but it could be better.

There's other cons, but these feel like the big ones to mention.

Lastly, unrelated but disclaimer: Most of these pictures are my own screenshots, avis, etc, with some minor exceptions - I tried to stick to my own content and accounts (yes I have Several accounts) for showcasing here, when not using official resources. If anyone recognizes themselves or a friend in here and wants it removed/changed/blacked out/etc just give me a shout.

In today's SoTE adventures: I fucking HATE Shadow's Keep!!! Vfhhhhhf okay I wasn't able to play all that much because switching from shifts work to 5/2 weeks is absolutely destroying me, but still some progress was made!

1) So I returned in that, like.... area full of water through which I've found Queelign earlier to explore more, and found the lever that had all water flood away! I saw a Grace beneath but decided to ignore it as I haven't explored all turns yet and saw a round elevator in the next turn. So I just reloaded the area....... ...only to get a bunch of runes and Iris of Occultation dropped as soon as I reappeared? I assumed something died, then? Okay sure I am not here to judge :/

1.2) @val-of-the-north informed me that it was a Tree Spirit but it wasn't supposed to just randomly kill itself! Just my luck I guess? XD

I did, eventually, on accident, and it was the beginning of a ROYAL PAIN, but we'll get to it in a second.... -_-"

7) I recall having turned some lever, picking an item from that giant dude's beard, hopping around and finding an exit when a very strong knight kicked my ass gfhtygg I struggled to return there but got back at him later! He dropped his ash of war and helmet:

So I just hopped onwards with almost enough runes for a level up without taking aNY PRECAUTIONS BUT FUCKING NO THEN FUCKING CUTSCENE STARTED PLAYING AND GUESS FUCKING WHAT FGGGFJJ

GUESS FUCKING WHAT OH MY G O D I'VE MET HIM!!!! THIS WHOLE GAME I WAS DOING LITERALLY ANYTHING BUT TRYING TO FIND HIM, I'VE BEEN DELIBERATELY PROCRASTINATING AND AVOIDING THIS GUY SPECIFICALLY AND YET I RAN INTO HIM I WAS SO MAD HFHYHH

9) Okay okay sorry if I am overreacting, it is hard to explain the context instantly gghhh I died of course, but I've lasted surprisingly long considering I was completely unprepared! I just was able to dodge his attacks and stab him with a spear effectively! I guess I start to muscle-learn finally..

10) At that point I've lost a concrete objective despite Val mentioning something about a scroll I wanted to find, and I already started to be sure something was wrong when he mentioned mysterious "grace on the fourth floor near the cross" that I never saw.... I was just running around and killing some more Fire Knights on the way!

Everything is starting to come together....... *looks at the duelists one more time*

11) At some point during my running I accidentally found an entrance outside with the giant bat enemies, but accidentally fell down the pit. All I remembered was a strange Fire Knight that was using an Erdtree incantation when others weren't...

And then I've spent the next HALF AN HOUR trying to find that place again ъ_ъ IT WAS A TORTURE, I kept running in circles over and over because I just did NOT remember what did I do!!!! It was so frustrating that I almost teared up gfhgbth Elden Ring DLC gave me EVERY type of emotion yet and I am not even halfway done!

Meanwhile Val kept telling me to forget about that place when I kept asking him to help me to find it again, and sent me a video on how to find the cross and the scroll that I didn't check because I was obsessed with finding that exact spot again! We were desperately trying to communicate each other while both confused about that location and it just felt like an image of two wojacks crying at one another 🤦‍♂️

12) While running over and over looking for the darn place, I ended up killing so many Fire Knights that they dropped their set and weapon! Damn, how many times I ran the same place over and over thinking maybe this time will be different? *insert definition of insanity meme*

13) Earlier there were Spirit Ashes of Black Knight Andreas and his son, who both turned on Messmer after learning of his serpentine nature 🤔 And the son also was his brother-in-arms whose execution he grieved. Now there is Kood, the captain of Fire Knights who were more intimately familiar with Messmer than Black Knights it seems (Queelign is one of the distinct Fire Knights). And of course Rellana who abandoned her right as royalty to stand by Messmer! And of course that spoiler about Melina being his little sister (twin?) in particular. We are accumulating more distinct names connected with him!

14) So.... eventually I've found that entrance I've mentioned earlier by accident, and this time I was more careful. Turned out that..... it WAS the path to that grace near the cross. 🤡🤡🤡

Val ABSOLUTELY lost his shit and told me that I somehow made the WHOLE Storehouse backwards!!! That not only I was supposed to reach this grace from BELOW and without turning the lever, but also I was only meant to find a HINT on Church District existing IN this place!! This reminded me of that time in the base game where not only I could not find Vare until Val told me where he was (🤡🤡🤡), but I also accidentally skipped the whole Limgrave and instead got stuck in Weeping Peninsula, wondering where to go, and did all the quests backwards. Good to know nothing fucking changed about my playstyle gfhbg

While looking for Ansbach I was thinking about how I'd really hate to end up disliking Messmer as a character because that'd be a hypocrisy considering I like Marika *looks at that Leda vs D meme*, so hopefully I could learn something about him later that could make him better for me

Basically, Miquella trashed Mohg so much that not only he bewitched him, but also wanted to use his corpse as a vessel to recover Radahn. :/ Just... zero respect. Why with Godwyn it is 'hurr hurr this isn't fair that my bro bears such a humiliation instead of dying a true death :((((((' but with Mohg it is 'humiliation is acceptable, actually'? Just because he did a bloody cult whereas Godwyn was just a cool friend with dragons and hugged you as a kid? Didn't Mohg end up worshipping Formless Mother so because of the abusive order YOU dude want to fix, whereas Godwyn was the favourite spoiled golden child? Where is 'kindness' in this mIqUeLlA tHe KiNd NOW?

17) At the same time, I am so entertained? Elden Ring gives me more variety of emotions than other Soulsborne games! I've never felt mad at the characters or repulsed by them before ER! Yet again: Martin's involvement was a great thing, it feels with how more fleshed out characters became!!!
