"I guess I have! Honestly, I couldn't tell you why," Randall shrugged with a good-natured laugh, blissfully unaware of any surprise on Emily's part as he finished the last of his stew, saying, "I don't even know what kind of bat it is, but I'd like to know. Maybe it thinks I look like a tasty morsel or something!"
He chuckled again (perhaps he should reconsider leaving his window open on a hot summer night, lest his batty friend take that as an invitation to take a sip!) as he got up to take his bowl and plate to the sink, as well as put the remaining stew into a container to fridge for his parents to enjoy later, adding, "I don't mind it, though-I usually walk home alone, so it's nice to have some company for a change."
Normally, Randall didn't mind walking home on his own; he was used to it, but he couldn't lie and say that it wasn't lonely, walking home alone. He passed so many others-couples, friends, families-and it made him wish he had someone by his side, someone to talk to, to destress with after a long day at work. Of course, he had his folks to look forward to seeing afterwards, but someone to walk with would be nice, and so he welcomed the little bat's company.
#((it's a huge risk! there's a very real chance that he could never see emily again))#((that he could somehow miss her and live out his life and die again-but it's a risk he's willing to take))#((and i think he has such an ardent belief in their love that he's more than willing to take that leap of faith))#((trusting in the power of love that they'll find each other again-even if he doesn't remember making this choice))#((he believes they'll be together again one way or another-and for what it's worth; he was right!))#((he was right to take that gamble; because it does ultimately pay off in them reuniting))#((and him recovering his memories! i think it's a huge testament to their bond and how strong it is))#((and i think it really goes to show how the two of them really would find one another in every universe))#((no matter what universe it would be-our au's have been more than enough proof of that i feel!))#outofhatboxes#beatingheart-bride#V:Dark Shadows

Saw a post claiming that the Biden memes on here are why Joe Biden is generally not getting as much criticism as he probably should for the bad parts of his agenda, and some offense, but it really seems to me like that doesn't pass the sniff test at all and maybe if you believe this you need to go log off and get some outside air.
#Are we sure it's the memes#Not the same large scale consent manufacturing machine that's been doing that job our entire lives#Well okay my entire life the fall of the Fairness doctrine is where a lot of this stuff gets worse in particular#As well as the post Watergate belief of conservatives that this CANNOT happen to them again#But not the post-watergate belief that they needed to let it not happen by not doing bad shit#At any rate if I were a gambling man I'd put my single crisp US dollar bill down on 'the media' before 'the memes'#For starters 'websites the Biden VP memes circulated on' and 'websites with the best overall impression of him' don't correlate at all#I don't think I can remember any pro-Joe posts in the primaries on this website#But this website is also where I saw the vast majority of my Biden memes#Even still the most love I see for him on here right now is like 'You're gonna have to vote for him again because he'll be the nominee'#I just would like to see a lot more evidence for the memes theory before I believe a much mroe straightforward theory#That the institution of the presidency holds an undue reverence especially in the national press#and as such regularly goes under-questioned and under-critiqued during pretty much every administration of my lifetime#The meme just doesn't seem even remotely powerful enough to move the same amount of belief comparatively#If nothing else it's an absurdly online model of US politics that fails to account for a bunch of other factors#For God's sake they're fawning over GW Bush and his artisitic endeavors and that dude needs to be in the Hague#And I don't remember any pro GWB memes on here to justify that#So something else beyond the memes may be at play here#I really just don't see that the model has any upside whatsoever as an explanation of things#It doesn't explain anything better than more coherent and fleshed out theories of politics#But also does explain several things worse or not at all#Full disclosure there are Biden memes in this blog's history#But the way I feel about him currently is literally entirely unrelated to that#If you wanna look at them and go 'we probably could've and should've known better' I'll give you that#But not 'because of the long term impact it has had'

MUM IS COMING OVER AND STAYING THE NIGHT AGAIN
#ON FRIDAY#hashtag winning#it talks#also guess which perfume i found on an online second-hand site today. OUR MOMENT BY ONE DIRECTION.#20€ for 20ml left of a 50ml bottle though lmao why the fuck would i buy that#i’ll tell you why. i Had to know if it smells like i remember it smelling. because when i got the body lotion as a gift as a kid i remember#thinking it was the best scent i have ever smelled in my entire life. like overwhelmingly stimmable.#i also ordered two vs body mists lmao because i think the other one is one i only smelled once in my life in hs somewhere and that scent me#ory hasn’t left me either. crazy.#it’s either pure daydream (which i think it is) or pure seduction#sure you can get these new but i was already shopping on the site so i figured why not gamble a disease from possibly expired perfume#i remember having love spell at some point and it was a gift from someone as well and that scent i do remember the most vividly. hate it. b#t nostalgic still.#this is me wanting to get into scents for stim reasons because i fucking LOVE smelling good things but i’m not one to wear a scent but i wa#na. and i like a scent that’s like. a lot of SCENT. like it doesn’t have to be anything specific it just needs to be. stimmable. you unders#tand.

Oh yeah fun fact about those escape room games me and my mum have been playing: they make no fucking sense. Not in a 'we can't solve them' way, they're actually fairly easy (for me anyway but I think that's cause mum gets bored) but because the protagonist is a detective with stupid reasoning sometimes.
Mostly saying this because she got shot at and kidnapped (by the guy wearing the keffiyeh so like... yeah that's not helping her case here), ended up in a cabin in the woods, found this guy's camera in his backpack, and said one of the photos on it was suspicious. Two of the three photos were pretty sus. First one is of the protagonist and her friend (I think) investigating the disappearance of a woman at the petrol station from the previous chapter. It's from an angle that makes you think he was just camping out in the fucking trees to take this photo, so yeah that's a bit weird. The second is of the missing woman sitting on a bench reading a paper, taken from within the bushes. Pretty sus, right?
But it's the third one that gets logged as vital evidence. That's the one that makes the protag think there's more than one kidnapped woman here. Clearly, super important! So what was it?
A wedding photo. The culprit's wedding photo with a blond woman hugging him. She's wearing a flower crown that's part of a puzzle, but otherwise, that's it.
The protag thinks a wedding photo is more suspicious than a photo of a woman taken from within the bushes. The Arabic man can't have married a conventionally attractive woman! No villain like this has ever been married before! No no no that's just not right! She must have been kidnapped too and coerced into this! How cruel! /s obviously
Like. Come on. They could at least have made the woman look even remotely like she didn't want to be there if they were going for this. They're not even trying to be subtle about this.
The REAL fucked up thing about this man should be that to get into the attic, he has to pull down the mounted animal heads on the wall in the right order. And he had a fucking lightbulb in a draw that only opens when the guns in the rack are in the right places. And he didn't notice the distinct lack of boards over tha attic window when he pulled up outside. And his number plate combined with a fishing bait catalogue is the security pin for the basement door that unlocks from the inside where the victims are.
The more fucked up guy is the fisherman who locked his car jack behind a number code box. And the protagonist for spending like an hour solving puzzles to put out an engine fire rather than get the fisherman out the fucking car before it explodes.
The culprit is actually cool btw. He has a fucking secret cave behind a waterfall as a secret spot to hang out in after he kills someone. A secret cave!!! Behind a waterfall!!! With a comfy hammock in it!!! And he's trying to kill this dumb fuck protag!!! Sure he might be a murderer but I'd forgive him if he kills this racist, judgemental idiot that has to spend forever organising the box of donuts before she can take one, and locks her office phone inside a locked draw you can only open with the key from a safe, where the code is the amount of squares on the files in the cabinets she also has to organise before she can use them.
Like damn bitch, you live like this?
I get it's an escape room puzzle game, but like. There are some things that maybe just make your characters look insane if you make them puzzles ngl
#and yes. all the black people are either the villains or idiots. seemingly no in-between#like wowie this is NOT subtle about it at all#penny the police officer is black and written like an immature idiot#i like her but wow does the writing suck#'oh we're going undercover? thats so exciting! i wanna have a gambling addiction!'#'no penny we just have to pretend we're corrupt cops.'#you guys already are to me man#then penny says 'thats not enough money! i have a gambling addiction!' in the super important meeting#like. come on.#at least TRY and be subtle about this shit...#'save me murphy! save me!!' is our current running joke btw#murphy and darius are both candidates for the most boring romance setup in the world#so every time they're on screen its 'save me Murphy!!! oh darius!!! you saved me!!! owo!!!'#don't worry we are NOT taking this narrative seriously#we're doing the puzzles and that's it#these guys aren't getting a penny out of us either we're just fucking around hating on it#firefly life

c!Tommy phrasing the end of the dream smp as "when everyone went away" and clarifying that the nukes weren't canon is so interesting to me. Everyone, minus perhaps c!Jack and c!Tubbo just.. Went away. They moved on. The Syndicate made their way to the end with c!Kristin, c!Ranboo left with Michael to the nether, Jack.... Got into gambling, I guess. Everyone, for some reason or another, left the place behind.
And they left Tommy with it.
Of course, Tommy left too, but he's the only one who comes back to l'manberg. Comes back to the greater dsmp in general. It's as though he could never truly sever his ties with it. He says he's almost happy. And I think that's because he can never truly move on from it all. And I don't think its a coincidence that Tubbo is the only other one who's mentioned to still be kicking around the place. Tubbo and Tommy are inexorably tied to L'manberg. They're the only ones alive that have that connection to it.
Tubbo was around for the longest in L'manberg. Longer than its creator. He was there for the war, for the schlatt administration, for new l'manberg, and for its final demise. He couldn't leave it behind once and for all because so much of his life was spent there.
Tommy is part of L'manberg. L'manberg was created in his visage, it was an extension of him. He couldn't leave it behind once and for all because it was so much of his life. The idea of L'manberg persisted throughout all of his life. Even in exile, it was the only thing keeping him going.
They're the only ones who can't move on. Not fully. They're trying. They're almost happy. But they can't leave it all behind. I've seen a lot of people calling this a c!Tommy happy ending, but really, it was Almost Happy.
And I think one day he can be Happy. But we won't see it. We got our closure, but he hasn't. Not yet.

A fleeting crush. Someone of a world so different, yet so similar. The connection was that of talking with someone at a get-together then later on seeing you ordered the same meal. One thread connects them, and one is curious, but doesn't voice their questions.
Passione felt this way towards Alec, the warrior that his party had stumbled across during their first quest. He'd been completing a quest of his, something to prove his worth as a knight to his people. He was simply reclaiming his father's ring. Such a neutral figure, agreeing to join the rag-tag group deeper into this fortress. Then, later, accompanying them out of that place and onto their next adventure. He had simply become one of them.
Passione had found him conventionally attractive, of course. Tall, dark, and handsome, yet somewhat charismatic. Certainly loyal. The first time Alex had laughed was in triumph when Passione used his connection to Asmodeus. A God they shared the worship of. A God that Alec believed in, and a God that Passione resented. Yet that laugh was something Passione could only seem to hear once he shared that part of himself. That link they shared.
He distanced himself after that. He had enough to worry about, with the Investigator constantly on his trail and his own tail-feathers to save, he didn't think much of it. Alec was the most capable of them, standing tall alongside their mighty Bear. He thought the knight would be unstoppable. That someday, when everything was settled, he might contact Alec again when he was off adventuring and offer his men sanctuary and pleasure in his newly established domain. Then maybe he'd be able to let the festering feeling escape his feathery chest.
The latest battle was a bad idea. Trekking through the caves had brought them to a beast that was practically a God. One that threw tantrums and made skeletons worship it. Part of Passione wishes he had just run further into the cave when he had a chance. Another wishes he'd rushed back sooner. That maybe if he hadn't gulped down the potion so greedily-
No, that's too much too quickly.
He'd slipped away while the party distracted the beast, a potion of invisibility having been chugged the moment he slipped down the steep slope with an audible thud. His pockets full of small valuables from its hoarde, he'd intended to wait down the path for his fellow adventurers, but all that arrived were the sounds of song. Then later, screams of rage from the beast. Of fear from his party.
He stayed hidden away, letting his hellhound fight for him. He'd only be another dead body on the ground if he revealed himself. He watched the beast slash and bite, tearing into anything close enough, acid and gas streaming from its jaws to consume anything in its path. Is false-worshippers, skeletons posed in prayer, were what gave it such power, but it took just a bit too long for anyone to quite realize it.
At one point, party members became confused. One shot his bullets at his allies, another swiped a spear at the nearest loving thing.
The investigator was struck down, and without much thought Passione had rushed to drag him to safety, still hidden. A coward. He'd revived his nemesis Oskolok, bringing him back to the waking world with a potion as they both were slumped in a small corridor off from the main fight.
He didn't realize just how bad things were by the beast. Their healer, the other investigator, even their hulking Bear had been downed, only held together by the spells of the Bard and the shots from their Gunman. He didn't realize Alec was in such a spot where no one could help him.
Instead, he accompanied the Oskolok. Toying with him, invisibility still making him unseen as he whispered and poked fun at the investigator. That playful attitude had him distracted.
When Passione used his magic, finally, it twisted the thing's bones from the inside, its flesh accommodating for the painful shifting. He forced it away, but it only barreled right back at his party. The second time, it seemed even more hurt than before, and he'd pushed it towards his party. They'd attack as it passed, he'd thought to himself. It was the perfect plan.
Then they'd both missed, and the creature had taken its rage out on them. It hadn't so much as looked at Passione this whole time. It made his hellhound useless, it caused his parry to turn on itself and down his enemy, and it just just knocked Alec to the ground once again.
Across the field, it felt like everything had slowed when Alex managed to make eye-contact from where he'd collapsed. It was a clear message.
"See ya later."
He was smiling.
Why?
Then it hit, as the knight crumpled in on himself. That familiar cold feeling of dread crawled its way up from Passione's gut, tracing through his chest and into his throat. This was wrong. This was all wrong.
He saw the healer, back on her feet, glance to him before her shoulders squared and she redirected her attention to another parry member.
No, no nonono-
He knew it before he could even think to move. Aled was dead. He was gone. He'd mouthed his last words to Passione, and it hurt so much. He rushed forward, ignoring the beast, ignoring his party, leaving Oskolok behind in the tunnel. That feeling in his chest got worse with every step.
Stopping before Alec's limp body, his corpse, had Passione nearly enveloped into despair. The tongue knew to control his emotions. The rational portion of his brain told him things to soothe him. Alec died in battle. He'd been such a loyal follower that surely Asmodeus would grant him privileges in the afterlife. They would see eachother again, just like he'd said.
But, it wasn't an honorable death. Not in Passione's eyes. Alec hadn't, contrary to his prior belief, been just another pawn in his schemes. He'd been a true ally. Maybe even a friend, had he not pushed him away so readily. He wished he'd spoke with him more, talked with him about their pasts and had ale at a tavern. Played card games around their campfires or just... spoken, even. But he hadn't, and now his chance was lost forever.
That was why he'd stood there and let the monster walk right beside him, so close he could smell it. And he tore into it. Cantrips and Scimitar in-hand, he refused to stop attacking. Even as he cut himself with his blade and missed his spells in a rage, he didn't stop. He wanted this beast to die for what pain it had brought him. He wanted to punished.
And then, at last, he was able to step away from its corpse as it collapsed under itself. The rest of the party had partly been the driving force to defeating it, but Passione thought of it as his own personal tribute to Asmodeus. A plea sent out from the God's Oracle to be kind to the soul of the hellknight he'd soon be recieving.
He just stood over Alec then. He couldn't bring himself to move the man, and at some point he found his legs growing weak beneath him. He sat beside the body of the man, warmth already having left his shape, and mourned.
Alec, he would realize later, was his light in the dark. He was everything good that his past forbade him from having. The pure joy and content that Alec held in his very being had been deeply entwined with the very same God that made Passione's life such a living hell. And now that goodness was gone.
He wasn't sure what he'd do next, about giving Alec a proper burial or contacting his allies, or even just what to do now instead of sitting on the floor, shaking with rage.
He did know, however, that his nightmares would be plagued by the death of tge knight for a very, very, long time. And perhaps, he would deserve them.
#light's spot#oc#drabble#Passione#this is about Alec (an npc) who died in our campaign tonight#he was the only casualty of the session#and it's making me feel emotions#(extra context: Passione was crushing on Alec and at the same time is constantly saving Oskolok's life. the long-con was Passolok being#canon enemies to lovers and have Alec be a gag crush#but that “see you later” directed at Passione was targeted and unfair so now it's a love that's already lost#and also set back his recovery path w/ his trauma#cuz he associated Alec w/ the good of his religion and upon his death it feels likeall that progress he made was lost for good and left him#when Alec did#so now he's going to be even MORE reserved and shut-out emotionally from the others#cuz he can't rely on anyone but himself#and the God he worships actuvely seems to enjoy toying with him#leading to tragedies like this and other occurances like that which made him into an Oracle in the first place.)#but yeah#late-night ramble writing about my stupid Gambling bird who just got his crush killed before his eyes (and is also convinced he could've#saved him if he'd just done *something* different)#ignore this lmao-#tw death#death tw

poker face
spencer reid x fem!bau!reader
spencer and you go to the casino to find the unsub. you think he looks pretty hot playing poker.
word count: 2.0k
warnings: making out, gambling, poker face spencer aghhh
"Forensics got a fingerprint match on the last victim. Eddie Langdon. We're looking into him." You said as you walked back into the office that held some of your team members.
Hotch came in behind you, "Hey, any luck?" Emily asked.
"No, they don't want to allocate agency funds for the buy-in. I'm still working on it." Hotch replied, looking down to his phone as he got back on another call.
Rossi chuckled, "Well, I can't imagine why not. We're only asking for fifty thousand bucks of taxpayer money so that FBI agents can play Texas hold 'em."
Emily eyed Rossi, "Hey, what about you?"
"What about me? What?"
"You could stake us the buy-in." Emily smirked.
Spencer sat down next to you, "Yeah, you're a best-selling author."
You nodded enthusiastically, "Don't forget a best-selling author and longtime FBI agent. You could loan us the money, or something."
"No," Rossi shook his head.
"Why not?" Emily frowned.
"One, it's against regulations, and I'd like to hold on to this job for a little while longer." Rossi began.
Under your breath, you muttered, "It's just a little violation, 's all."
Rossi just rolled his eyes at your comment. "And two, I prefer to spend my money on actual things, like single-malt scotch, a fine cigar, beautiful artwork."
"Poker chips are things!" JJ replied quickly with a smile.
Rossi just scoffed as Spencer spoke up again. "Maybe just think of it as like a new experience. I mean, at your age, how often does that happen?" Oh, no he didn't.
"At my what?" Rossi slowly turned his head to Spencer who just gulped and awkwardly looked away.
"Rossi, this may be our only chance to get this guy." You said slowly. "They government isn't going to give us the money. You're our only way to catch this killer. Please?" You paused for a moment. "And if it helps, you can just write a new book to get some more cha-ching."
Rossi sighed, "All right, fine. But I'm ignoring that last comment. I'm a decent poker player, but I can't promise that I can stay in the game long enough to--"
"You know what?" Emily interrupted. "I bet you're a great poker player, but what if we sent in Reid?"
"I am banned from casinos in Las Vegas, Laughlin, and Parump because of my card-counting ability." Spencer commented as if it was the most casual thing in the whole world.
You raised your hand slightly, "Why did I not know this sooner?"
"Look, I know I'm not a genius like the boy wonder here, but poker is not Blackjack." Rossi argued. "It's about bluffing, reading human nature, head games. It's not math."
That's when Spencer stood up, "That's not entirely accurate. There actually is a mathematical equation for knowing when to raise and when to fold. If P represents the size of the pot at the time of play, then P times N minus one, with N representing the estimated number of players in the final round of betting--"
"Okay! Fine, I surrender!" Rossi cut Spencer off quickly. "Just try not to lose all my money. Actually, you know what?" Rossi quickly spoke your name. "Take her with you, I don't want you losing all my money and if she needs to interrupt the game, then so be it."
Your eyes widened, "Rossi, I've never stepped foot into a casino in my life."
"You'll be fine!" Rossi waved it off as Spencer gave you a comforting look.
Oh, this was not what you expected at all.
Spencer and you had to get checked by security with the handheld metal detectors. Yours didn't go off, but Spencer's did. He played it off as just a pen. Thank god they accepted that.
The two of you walked in. For someone who stared at dead bodies and killers all day, this was the most nerve wracking thing you'd experienced in a while. It also didn't help that Hotch decided you and Spencer were to play a couple when you had such a big crush on him.
"Hey," Spencer muttered, "It's okay."
"Just nervous," You replied under your breath. The two of you made your way to the bar. Spencer got himself a drink, and you got some champagne. "Is it really just math?"
Spencer nodded, "Math, and a little bit of luck."
The moment you felt Spencer take your hand, you tried to pull away. "Spencer, what about germs--"
"I don't mind your germs, you're my friend. Plus, we have a part to play, remember?" Spencer muttered, locking his fingers between yours. Your heart pounded as you did the same.
"I'll observe as you play," You muttered, remembering the list of things you needed to look for to find the unsub. "I know you don't need it, but good luck."
Spencer smiled at you, the comment being just so sweet and innocent. "Thank you." You looked so nervous, so out of place. It made Spencer notice you more.
Spencer had taken a seat at a table, which you stood behind him, leaning over his shoulder. Your hands rested on the back of the chair. So far, no one caught your eye, until one man at another table did. Casually, you poked Spencer and he caught onto your stare.
"You know, would it be all right if I sat at table two instead of four? I have a pre-glaucoma condition and the light's kind of bothering my eyes." Spencer called over the employee, who took him to the desired table.
The men didn't just eye Spencer as he sat down, you noticed they eyed you too. Defensively, you wrapped your arms around Spencer's neck from behind. "Ah, I'm calling." One of the men said."
"I'll raise." One guy said. You stared at him, noticing his red eyes. Weird. "Eight thousand."
"Eight thousand.. That's, uh, fifty-six months wages for the average person in Bangladesh." Spencer commented casually. In reply, you giggled and played with some of hair, pushing it out of his face. Spencer hoped you didn't feel his face turn hot under your fingers. "Uh, kind of makes you think, doesn't it?"
"Hey, it's eight thou to you." One guy remarked. "Now, are you in or are you out?"
Spencer sighed, "I.. am in. And I raise."
"Three raise? That's too rich for my blood." The guy sighed. One man, the one who raised before Spencer, bored holes into him.
"Are you in, sir?" Spencer asked.
"I'll call."
"Call?"
Spencer flipped his cards, "Straight."
Based on everyone's reactions and Spencer's coy face, straight was a very good thing. Playing the act, you kissed Spencer's forehead and squealed lightly, deciding to stroke his cheek for a moment. "A gut shot straight draw? Are you kidding me?"
"That is just-- that is nuts."
It was no wonder Spencer was banned from casinos. Spencer's poker face was good. He simply just covered his mouth after a moment and stared, watching everyone's reactions. His hand slowly ran down to his chin, and in that moment, it did it for you. Sure, Spencer was your cute little nerd, but he'd never been so hot to you.
You noticed next to the man who was staring, he had an eight ball keychain. "Hey, mind if I look at this?" You asked, reaching for it.
The man was quick to grab your hand hard. Spencer jumped into action, pulling you from him.
"Hey. What's the problem, sir?" An employee asked.
"She's reaching for my chips!"
"I'm not even in the game," You remarked.
The employee grabbed your arms, "You need to come with me."
If Spencer's eyes could've gotten any wider, they would've popped out of his head. "Hey! Don't manhandle her! She can walk, let go!" Spencer ripped the mans arms off of you and pulled you into his chest. "Come on, love. Let's just go."
Spencer's words caused your chest to tingle as he guided you away. You watched as he clicked the call-device, it lit up red. The look on the mans face, your unsub, was clear. He knew.
You met up with the team as you were lead out the doors, "They're FBI agents," Hotch informed the guard.
"There he goes, plaid shirt, baseball hat." Spencer pointed.
After searching the whole casino, the unsub made a break for it. His name was Curtis Banks. You and Spencer were sent to his house to see if he was there. After a quick search, it was clear he wasn't there.
"Hey Hotch, he isn't here. There's a foreclosure sign in the lawn." You informed your chief.
"All right, you and Reid stay there in case he comes back." Hotch hung up the phone.
You shrugged to Spencer, "And we wait."
After a beat of silence, Spencer turned to you. "At the casino, you couldn't keep your hands off of me after I won." Spencer said out of nowhere. "Your physical proximity was close, you frequently stared at me--"
"I was playing my part," You argued.
"Yeah, too well." Spencer pointed out. "Were you checking me out?"
Heat rose to your cheeks, "No. Why would I do that?"
"Look at me and say it," Spencer demanded, but his tone wasn't harsh. It was simply just firm. "You won't look at me."
Slowly, you turned to look at Spencer, "I wasn't checking you out."
"You can't look me in the eyes. You've never not looked me in the eyes." Spencer continued.
"Stop profiling me," You tried to end the discussion. It was clear Spencer had caught you. You weren't interested in being turned down, especially when you were in some sort of steak-out with the genius.
Spencer frowned, "I'm not profiling you. I'm just telling you as it is."
"That's what profiling is," You countered. "We don't need to have this conversation. Was I checking you out? Yes, I was. Is that what you wanted me to say? That you looked so damn hot winning thousands of dollars with your best poker face while you let me all over you?"
Spencer said your name, but you kept rambling. It took him grabbing your chin and forcing your face closer to his to make you stop. "You think I'm hot?"
"Yeah," You stuttered. "Yeah, I do."
Slowly, Spencer trailed his finger over your bottom lip. "I always thought you were the most gorgeous girl I'd ever seen."
"Where's this confidence coming from?" You asked.
Spencer shrugged, "Gamblers frequently experience a phenomenon called the 'winning high,' it releases dopamine and adrenaline, making gamblers do riskier things than they'd normally do."
"You gonna use that high to kiss me?" Your voice was a mere mutter. Your lips were just grazing Spencers.
"Is that what you want?" Spencer lowly asked.
"What do you think?" You retorted.
Spencer's lips slammed onto your own, harder than you expected. His large hand had the back of your neck, and he pulled you impossibly closer. It was hot, just how you wanted it. Flimsily, Spencer reached to the bottom of his seat to scoot it back. His hands went to your hips, guiding you to move across the seats to his lap.
"You know, we're still on the lookout." You mumbled, pressing another kiss to the genius's lips.
"They haven't called us yet." Spencer challenged, hand running down your back to your waist.
Slowly, Spencer's hand began to creep up your shirt, just to your navel-level. His kisses descended to your neck, pressing opened mouth, warm kisses to your skin.
"Spence," You whined, grabbing his hair to push him closer. He sighed in reply.
You both jolted when your phone began to ring. You grabbed it quickly, "What?"
"Ooh, someone's frisky." Derek teased over the phone. "We got the guy. You two are all good to head back."
"Thanks, Morgan. See you back there." You hung up the phone, tossing it back to to your seat. "Looks like we have to wrap this up."
Spencer smirked, "We fly back in the morning. We'll find some time soon."
Spencer's words weren't a tease, they were a promise.

caught wearing their clothes ?! (argenti, aventurine, sunday)
a/n : isn’t it kinda funny all 3 of them have boss forms? (´-ω-`) we don’t talk abt the way argentis part is the shortest </3
argenti
it was a nice afternoon, perfect for going out with loved ones. though, even with such lovely weather, you felt bored to death waiting for argenti. so naturally, you would search for ways to cure your boredom while waiting for argenti’s return.
that’s how you got yourself in your current situation—getting caught wearing a spare set of argenti’s usual armor as he returned.
“you look absolutely stunning in my outfit, dearest.” his soft voice startled you, causing you to freeze and immediately turn towards him. your face was practically the color of his hair, as you had never meant for him to see you like this.
“a-argenti! back so early?” you let out a nervous laugh, averting your gaze out of the embarrassment you were feeling.
“is something the matter, dearest? why so nervous? afraid I might scold you for wearing my clothes?” your embarrassment and nervousness seems to elicit a hearty chuckle out of him as he takes a few steps closer to you, extending a rose towards you. “if it’s that you’re worried about—then fear not—as I believe your beauty could rival even the goddess idrila no matter what you wear.” argenti smiles as he softly reassured you.
his words only served to make you flush further, his flattering compliments making your heart race faster. “…you really think so?” originally, you were quite worried about what he’d think if he saw you in this state. but with such kind demeanor and reassurance, how could anyone resist having an ego boost?
“of course, there is no need for me to lie to you.” argenti’s smile widens as he decides to insert the rose behind your ear. “though, I do believe the attire I would love seeing you in the most is attire fit for our wedding one day.”
aventurine
this was your lucky moment! aventurine was currently out attending an ipc meeting, which meant you were left all alone. being left alone gave you many opportunities—specifically an opportunity to borrow his spare clothes and have some fun with it.
as you looked yourself over in the mirror, you had to admit you looked nice in aventurine’s usual clothes. you even chose to take a pair of his glasses and one of his hats to fully immerse yourself in the experience! his outfit was quite flamboyant and was definitely flashy, usually catching the attention of many.
wearing his outfit made some mischievous ideas slowly start to come to life as you made the choice of mocking him in his clothes.
“I always win in my gambles, so naturally I’ll bet my entire bank account! i’m just a stupid, careless, mindless gambler—“ suddenly, you were cut off by the sound of the door opening as aventurine stands there in the doorway, arms crossed with an amused smirk on his lips as he leans against the doorframe.
“hmm… so this is how you choose to kill time while i’m away, huh?” aventurine laughs as he approaches you, observing the way you looked in his clothes. “i have to say, you look quite good like this. I’m surprised you’re bold enough to rock a little window like me, though~” he narrows his eyes, glancing at you playfully as his words made your cheeks flush.
“even your little impression of me was fun to witness. but, it says a lot about you as a person, doesn’t it? if I’m a stupid, careless, mindless gambler, then what does that make you for being attracted to me?” aventurine teases, making your jaw drop as you find yourself scrambling for a response.
“don’t get ahead of yourself now. i’m certainly not attracted to you.” you retort, despite the fact that the both of you knew very well that your words were a blatant lie.
“oho? is that how it is? then let’s see just how much you’re ‘not attracted to me’ once I start doing this…” aventurine’s chuckle sends a shiver down your spine as he begins to lean closer to your lips, his hand making its way down to your hips.
sunday
you had some time before sunday arrived home, and coincidentally, you spotted spare pairs of sunday’s usual attire as you were searching for something to occupy yourself with.
unfortunately, you weren’t a halovian like sunday. so after you had finished putting on his clothes, you had to find a way to improvise when it came to his wings and halo. messily, you began to draw outlines for his wings and halo on some paper. you then colored them in, planning to cut them out and find a way to use them.
just as you were about to tape the paper wings behind your ears, you heard sunday’s voice as he stepped into the house.
you tried to clean everything up and change, but it was too late. you had already been caught.
“ah? is this what I think it is? is the love of my life trying to impersonate me?” sunday jokes light-heartedly, his pleasant laugh filling your ears as you look away shyly. “you even went so far as to make a fake pair of wings and halo… you’re very dedicated if I do say so myself.” he smiles softly as he takes a few steps closer to you, humming as he admired you.
“this was a dumb idea… you’re still the one that looks the best when wearing these clothes.” you laugh awkwardly, a sheepish look in your eyes as he admires you. his attention being completely directed on you at a moment like this seemed to be the most embarrassing possible timing.
“no need to be so embarrassed about all of this, my love. I don’t mind this at all.” sunday shakes his head, hoping his words will reassure you as he lightly pats your head. “in fact, I’d say you look just about ready to replace me as the head of the oak family.” he lets out an amused chuckle at the idea, his mind already painting an image of you leading the family like he currently did.
“then… what would I be missing?” a sigh of relief escapes you at his reassurance before you decided to reply with a more light-hearted tone.
“firstly, you’ll need to learn the proper etiquette, my love. mm.. but I suspect with someone as capable as you, it won’t be hard teaching you how to replace me.” sunday gazes at you with a look filled with fondness. “but at the end of the day, I like you best when you’re being yourself. so there is no need to delve into topics that involve becoming like me or someone else.”

My name is Doaa, and I carry the weight of a family trapped in the crucible of war in Gaza. With me are my husband, Wissam, and our three beloved children: 9-year-old Tala, 7-year-old Sajid, and our youngest, 18-month-old Sanad. Our tale is one of endurance, displacement, and the relentless pursuit of safety amidst the chaos of conflict.
The Prelude to War:
Before the storm of October 7th, our lives in Gaza were a tenuous balance between hope and despair. But with the outbreak of war, our world crumbled beneath the onslaught of bombs and gunfire. For 220 days, we lived in constant fear as the violence engulfed our city, leaving behind a trail of destruction and death.
A Perilous Journey:
Our journey began In the heart of Gaza City, where we fled our home In search of safety. Seeking refuge, we found ourselves at Al-Rantisi Hospital, where the threat of attack loomed large. When the hospital became a target, we fled once more, seeking shelter in another hospital, where fear and illness afflicted our bodies and those of our children.
The Trek to Khan Yunis:
With nowhere left to turn, we embarked on a treacherous journey on foot to Khan Yunis. With bombs raining down around us and no food, water, or medicine to sustain us, each step felt like a gamble with our lives. The 7-kilometer trek was a test of endurance, as we braved the dangers of the road in search of sanctuary.
Displacement and Desperation:
Upon reaching Khan Yunis, we found ourselves thrust into a new nightmare. The danger intensified, driving us to flee once more, this time to Rafah. Here, amidst the biting cold, we found shelter in a tent, our only protection from the elements. But even here, the threat of war looms large, casting a shadow over our fragile existence.
A Daughter's Struggle
Adding to our burdens, my daughter Tala has been suffering from hypothyroidism since birth. Her condition weighs heavily on my heart, a constant reminder of the fragility of life and the need for urgent medical care.
The Price of Freedom:
In Rafah, the specter of war still haunts us, threatening to unravel the fragile threads of hope we cling to. The cost of leaving Gaza through the Egyptian Rafah crossing stands at $5,000 per person, an insurmountable barrier to our journey to safety.
A Cry for Help:
We are a family on the brink, teetering between despair and hope as we navigate the tumult of war. We plead for assistance, for a chance to break free from the cycle of violence and rebuild our lives in peace. With your support, we can overcome the trials that have befallen us and emerge stronger on the other side.
Conclusion:
Our journey is far from over, and the road ahead is fraught with uncertainty. But with your compassion and generosity, we can rewrite the ending of our story. Together, we can pave a path to safety and stability for Tala, Sajid, Sanad, Wissam, and me, ensuring that the horrors of war remain nothing more than a distant memory.
