The Galbraith in Dallas, Texas was designed by Perkins & Will and built by Suffolk Construction. The Bryan Street high-rise is unique not only because of the design but for housing a mix of affordable and market rate rental units in the downtown tower. The Galbraith building has 217 apartments, and just over half of the units are reserved for residents earning significantly below the average area median income.
The building is less than a block from a DART light rail station. There’s a fitness center, a ground floor lounge area with skyline views and an upper-level swimming pool deck overlooking the nearby Arts District.
Matthews Southwest developed the project with support from the City of Dallas Housing Finance Corp. in a venture with Volunteers of America and Urban Specialists. The property is managed by Asset Living.

Memories of Galbraith School and Concession 10-- Linda Dryer
Linda Dryer on June 6, 2023 at 3:56 pm said: Edit My mom Jean( nee: Watt ) more (almost 93 yrs) lived on Lanark Tsp Concession 10 . This was her and her family’s school (8 children). Now that I think of it possibly the youngest children Gladys and Leonard may not have attended but I am sure of the other 6 since I heard stories about them. It was of course a school that had 8 grades! Now I…

Power obviously presents awkward problems for a community which abhors its existence, disavows its possession, but values its exercise. In the nature of man, the alarm over the exercise of such power runs to its use by second persons. The businessman is not disturbed about the use of authority of which, by hard work and merit, he has become the custodian, he is alarmed about its misuse by government. The liberal naturally views the exercise of private business power with concern. On acquiring public office he is not likely to be persuaded of the danger of misusing his own righteously won authority. This tendency to alarm over the possession of power by other people is greatly enhanced by the convention of denying that one possesses power. The conventional assertion that one has none is readily translated into belief. In nay case, the man who is possessed of authority, private or publics, is always likely to be more conscious of the checks and reins on his decisions than of his power to reach them. A decision which one is free to make rarely impresses one as an exercise of power. To the extent that is makes any impression at all it is likely to seem a rather obvious exercise of intelligence. A decision on which one is blocked by the authority of another is a very different matter. It is bound to make a deep impression. The impression will also, normally, be one of arbitrary or egregious misuse of power. This is why we live in a world of constant protests against the authority of others and of replies which reflect a deep and usually genuine content of injured innocence.

Omen 4: The Awakening Fan Video | Delia's Murderer from THE OMEN fanfic Always Visible (avlivro)
youtube
Delia York tribute by me, which I dedicate to Asia Vieira. This is a scene from the fanfic "Always Visible" (or just "avlivro") based on "Omen IV: The Awakening", embodied with the help of appropriate frames from the film adaptation of Stanislav Lem's novel "Śledztwo". Music by Maurice Jarre from the motion picture "Jacob's Ladder".
This video is intended to illustrate a scene from a fan fiction, when inspector Galbraith (in the video, he is presented as a moustached man in a trench coat) comes to the home of doctor Baselard (a bald old man with glasses), who had previously killed Delia Yonce on the operating table.
P.S. The subtitles do NOT correspond to the real dialogues of the actors, they are needed to illustrate the scene from the fanfic "Always Visible (Another Prayer for The Dying Horror Genre)".

"Because men's crimes are always ours in the final analysis, aren't they, Mr. Strike? Ultimate responsibility always lies with the woman, who should have stopped it, who should have acted, who must have known. Your failings are really our failings, aren't they? Because the proper role of the woman is carer, and there's nothing lower in this whole world than a bad mother."

Fun fact: Robert Galbraith Heath was a psychiatrist who pioneered gay conversion therapy in the 1950s using electroshock therapy.
Additional fun fact: JK Rowling writes bad crime fiction using the pseudonym Robert Galbraith.

Galbraith Schoolhouse 2010- Brian Woodward
PLAY while looking at photos Photos of the Galbraith schoolhouse. As a kid, my family used to camp at Thompsons black rock park, near the schoolhouse. I was an adventurous kid and just as interested in history back then as I am today. I’d say I took these pics around 2010, maybe 2011. My mom Jean( nee: Watt ) more (almost 93 yrs) lived on Lanark Tsp Concession 10 . This was her and her family’s…

I genuinely wonder how much of JK Rowling's transphobic crusade has been projection over her guilt at her own choices, pretending to be a man to accelerate her career.
I don't blame her for doing whatever she can to thrive in a sexist world, but I do wonder if someone who pretends to be a different gender to advance their career and get more money will be more likely to falsely ascribe similar intentions and motivations to actual trans people.
