i’m extremely excited to share my piece for the a little less alone zolana zine, which is now free for anyone to view! i tried a lot of new things with this piece and i’m super happy with the results! i’m also incredibly honored that i was chosen to take part in this zine. i’m a pretty small artist and getting to connect and interact with more well known artists was really really cool. check out the full zine here!

Mod Muse: You make a good argument for them! I’m glad we decided to accept polyships, because this sounds like a lot of fun.

Mod Echo: All I’m seeing here is three characters who couldn’t be more deserving of love and a stable relationship. So many good boys and good ships! ToT

Anon said: My all-time fav rarepair in this series has to be Monochako (Monoma/Ochako). Even back in the sports fest, he was already noticing her in her match vs. Bakugo, so I feel like he’d grow to be one of her biggest fans. And Ocha can read people’s feelings, like w Bakugo in the omake and Tsu in the dorm room scene, so if anyone can look past Monoma’s dickishness and see his good sides, it’d be her. I just see so much potential in this ship, and that’s why I love it so much!

Mod Muse: Oh man. I’ve never heard of this ship before, but you make it sound like something that would work very well. You clearly have the characters down pact! That’s honestly one of my favorite things about rarepairs - the shippers tend to put a lot of thought into the characters and have a solid understanding of them and you can tell.

Mod Echo: Signed, sealed, approved, count me in. I feel like Ochako would make a great match for Monoma’s antics since she’d just let it all roll right off her back. Love it!

Anon said: MonoBaku! Tbh I like angst-heavy recovery fics, and the pair seems perfect for that genre. They both can have some pretty heavy issues that they can work through together. And who doesn't love a good enemies to lovers gig?

Mod Muse: Lots of Monoma love in this post! I love it! You are certainly correct on all accounts, and enemies to lovers is addictive content indeed.

Mod Echo: This one too! Monoma’s phantom thief theme is too cool and every ship with him is under-rated. ~~And I know said angst, but why am I reminded of Tom and Jerry for some reason??~~

Mod Muse: More ships that I hadn’t thought of, but definitely sound like fun! Minajirou in particular sounds like a blast.

Mod Echo: Kirishima would make a good match up for Todoroki, since he seems pretty impervious to fire and maybe even ice... I could definitely see these two gaining a lot from interacting with each other more. And MinaJirou is just... yes please! Ladies of the BakuSquad gotta stick together!!

Mod Echo: This ask is galaxy brain level. I never thought of Shouji/Shiozaki but you’re so right. I can totally see them getting along great and being an adorable ship! So many great ships here, I’m dying...

Swoon-worthy YA Heroes to Crush On

Heroism comes in all forms big or small, no matter if you’re the hero of your own story, your local community or the entire galaxy. These guys and gals make the whole hero thing look good (and we’ve got a literary crush)!

 1.       Literally any dude from The Sidekicks by Will Kostakis

Ryan, Harley and Miles have had a rough year. The only thing tying them together was their best friend Isaac, and since his death they’ve felt adrift with nothing to anchor them. They’ll have to help each other through their grief and discover that maybe there was more holding them together than just Isaac—that’s pretty heroic in our books.

2.       Justyce McAllister from Dear Martin by Nic Stone

Justyce (and Nic Stone) gives us a true-to-life portrait of the pressures placed on people of color to conform to everyone else’s idea of what and who they’re supposed to be. Even though Justyce has moved away, he still has to deal with the scorn of his former neighborhood peers, and now he has to deal with the ridicule of his new classmates, too. 5.       Billy Chatworth from the Three Dark Crowns series by Kendare Blake

Don’t let us get started on Billy Chatworth or we’ll be here all day. Each of the queens in this series is pretty heroic in her own right, but Billy stole our hearts right from his first appearance on the page. From the way he defies his evil father at every turn to his loyal and steadfast love for Arsinoe, we can’t wait to see what Billy will do next.

6.       Tenn from Runebinder by Alex R. Kahler

announcing a little less alone - a galaxy gals zine

a little less alone is a zine to help create content for galaxy gals, or zolana in the dear evan hansen fandom. zoe murphy and alana beck, being female characters, don’t get as much content made for them in favor of the male characters, so the zine is an attempt to encourage creators to create a little something to fill up their tag.

how can i apply?

applications closed on OCTOBER 31ST. as of now, acceptance emails have been sent out to participants, and the discord server has become public to those who applied.

can i apply to be a mod?

mod applications closed on AUGUST 31ST.

what kind of content are you looking for?

art pieces, comics, and written stories.

does it have to be new?

yes, it does. the purpose of the zine is to make all new content for galaxy gals. deleting something you’ve previously published to submit for the zine doesn’t count as new.

do i have to meet any requirements to be eligible?

a few! 

a. you don’t necessarily have to have anything published, but keep in mind that if you apply a mod may contact you and ask you to create something. it’s just for us to see your skill and determine if your creations will fit in nicely in the zine. 

b. you will also need a discord; it’s the easiest way to stay in touch with you and update you on anything regarding the zine. if you don’t have one, please make one before you apply, because we do ask for your tag on the application. we'd also like if you could leave an email for us to contact you with.

c. when it comes to age, we won't impose an official requirement, but we do ask that you be at least 12. safe spaces for minor will be extended depending on the ages of participants.

what are you looking for specifically?

mostly zolana. however, if someone is committed to doing zoe or alana pieces, that just might fly. make sure to get in touch with a mod and ask once you've received your acceptance email. all pieces will have to be sfw; there is no exception.

can i have tree bros/kleinphy/kleinsen?

yes, you can, but it can't be the main focus of your piece. zolana must be the main focus for your piece or it will be rejected.

how many people have been accepted?

originally, 19 people were meant to participate in the zine. when the end product was assembled, we had 10 creators.

when will the zine come out?

currently, the released date is unknown, but there will be a definite effort to have the zine published before Femslash February is over.

will i have to pay for the zine?

not this time! the zine will be free and accessible for all.
