have you guys chosen who’s participating yet?? just curious :)

We have not, as of yet. Applications are still open until October 31st, so the final list of participants will not be released until that date has passed. We want to make sure everyone who applies is given an equal consideration for participation, regardless of whether they applied early on or a little later. That being said, we are low on applicants, so if you can reblog either post to help get a little bit more of an interest, that would be a huge help.

so if someone was interesting in writing a fic for this, it could be anything as long as it was sfw?? like it could be something crazy long, or with a bittersweet ending, or an extravagant au?? are there any boundaries?? :)

excellent question!! 

it’s very important that writers keep their fics sfw, because there are young people in this fandom and this zine will be public for anyone to access. 

as for “crazy long”, that would be a no. it can’t be 20K words, because that would be way too long. there will definitely be a word count minimum and maximum, but that hasn’t been decided yet. once that decision has been made, it will be posted on the blog and in the discord server. 

however, there have been times when authors have significantly cut down on pieces that are in zines, and then published a longer version on their accounts once they are allowed to. if that’s the course of action that an author chooses, that is entirely up to them. they would just have to let a mod know. 

and yes, it really can be anything. bittersweet, extravagant, whatever au you come up with! as long as it’s zolana, anything goes.

announcing a little less alone - a galaxy gals zine

a little less alone is a zine to help create content for galaxy gals, or zolana in the dear evan hansen fandom. zoe murphy and alana beck, being female characters, don’t get as much content made for them in favor of the male characters, so the zine is an attempt to encourage creators to create a little something to fill up their tag.

how can i apply?

applications closed on OCTOBER 31ST. as of now, acceptance emails have been sent out to participants, and the discord server has become public to those who applied.

can i apply to be a mod?

mod applications closed on AUGUST 31ST.

what kind of content are you looking for?

art pieces, comics, and written stories.

does it have to be new?

yes, it does. the purpose of the zine is to make all new content for galaxy gals. deleting something you’ve previously published to submit for the zine doesn’t count as new.

do i have to meet any requirements to be eligible?

a few! 

a. you don’t necessarily have to have anything published, but keep in mind that if you apply a mod may contact you and ask you to create something. it’s just for us to see your skill and determine if your creations will fit in nicely in the zine. 

b. you will also need a discord; it’s the easiest way to stay in touch with you and update you on anything regarding the zine. if you don’t have one, please make one before you apply, because we do ask for your tag on the application. we'd also like if you could leave an email for us to contact you with.

c. when it comes to age, we won't impose an official requirement, but we do ask that you be at least 12. safe spaces for minor will be extended depending on the ages of participants.

what are you looking for specifically?

mostly zolana. however, if someone is committed to doing zoe or alana pieces, that just might fly. make sure to get in touch with a mod and ask once you've received your acceptance email. all pieces will have to be sfw; there is no exception.

can i have tree bros/kleinphy/kleinsen?

yes, you can, but it can't be the main focus of your piece. zolana must be the main focus for your piece or it will be rejected.

how many people have been accepted?

originally, 19 people were meant to participate in the zine. when the end product was assembled, we had 10 creators.

when will the zine come out?

currently, the released date is unknown, but there will be a definite effort to have the zine published before Femslash February is over.

will i have to pay for the zine?

not this time! the zine will be free and accessible for all.
