HEYYYYYYY i’m so excited to respond to ur ask it made me so happy to see u in my notifs and i’m so excited for u for ur milestone! anyways i kinda want all of them but i decided to cut down to 🥺 :)))) 👀 pls rant i will read it all and ☕️ for morgwen andddd manon from the tog books. <3 <3 :*
HEY AMY!!! i hope you had a lovely day today🥺thank you for the ask💞
🥺- for my mutuals, ill talk about why i follow you and why everyone should be as well
omg im pretty sure i met and started following you like the day of that bellamy scene™️ because i remember thinking how fucking horrendous that episode ended, and, at the same time, how amazing that night on tumblr was aksnakaaj. so that night, tumblr was a fucking disaster and chaotic and funny asf. i remember texting @tkstrrand the entire ep (bc she couldn’t watch it for some reason) like how boring it was/how she wasn’t missing much blahblah and then when the death scene happened at the last fucking second, i sent her about a thousand separate incoherent texts in the span of like two minutes LOL tumblr was in shambles and i made a few posts about how fucking dumb the show was—one post i made i told my few new followers to fuck the 100 and just watch merlin and you texted me about it!! we have literally so much in common (with merlin, atla, the 100, tog!!!) that when you texted me about how you felt about that scene compared to merlin’s ending, my thought was like “this blog is so kind and we feel the same way and i need to follow asap.”
you are literally so sweet and lovely to talk to🥺that night™️ may had been disastrous, but i can look on it with a lighter heart because we met because of it!! every time we talk i always smile so much (and dw, i know i still have to get clone wars for our boy anakin👀👀)
dude, everyone should be following you because your blog is incredible, your tags are superb, and you are literally one of the sweetest people i’ve met on here😭💞 i adore you.
👀 - and ill tell you a parallel from merlin or the 100 that still fucks me up
this post for merthur still FUCKS ME UP by @camelotsheart
THE EYES. THE GIFSET’S BEAUTIFUL COLORING. THE EYES. EYES. I CANT. THIS GIFSET HAUNTS ME. parallels, man, i fucking love them.
☕️ + send me a ship/character/movie/book and ill give you my opinions on it
my opinions on morgwen:
I LOVE IT SO MUCH. I SHIP IT WITH MY WHOLE ASS SOUL. dude, their potential as a ship is incredible😭i fucking love them together. i wrote them as a side pairing in my first multi-chapter merthur fic and i adored writing their interactions and dynamic sm. if morgana was going to be with anyone, my first choice will always be gwen. i also read them as a pairing in fics all the time because the pure power-couple potential is insane.
hot ☕️ here™️: i think if someone was to bring morgana back from the brink of hatred, it should have been gwen (not merlin). so, like, i could definitely see merlin telling her about his magic and whatnot and maybe that would have stopped her from going dark side...but...i didn’t think merlin should have (ekk probably an unpopular opinion).
see, i love merlin with my entire heart..and tbh telling uther fucking pendragon’s ward that he had magic was just too much of a gamble—especially with arthur’s life on the line, which literally became merlin’s sole purpose in life (another matter for a different essay™️). i understand his need to keep it a secret from her even more when the large reptile repeatedly got into merlin’s head that she was bad news from the jump (also another matter for a different essay™️).
SO. that leaves two options for our miserable magical gal: arthur or gwen. now, i honestly believe arthur wouldn’t have hurt her if he was told. and i even think he may have became more sympathetic to the magical community because of it—especially when he saved mordred wayyyy early on that cemented the fact that arthur was not uther. but i can also understand why morgana wouldn’t tell arthur, and it’s pretty much the same reason merlin didn’t tell her about his magic: the risk was too big and she didn’t want to gamble her life with an unknown reaction.
now we get to the main point: gwen would have been the best option for her. whether it is platonic or not, gwen was always there for morgana. gwen is such a kind, loving soul, and she deeply respected and adored morgana—you can tell by the way she smiled around her in the beginning seasons, how she would get her flowers, how she would worry about morgana’s wellbeing. even though gwen was morgana’s servant, she cared for her in more ways than were required and it showed. they were best friends. the entire incident with gwen’s father, which was horrendous, might be the reason gwen would be rightfully upset about the subject of magic; however. she knew her father wasn’t magical, she knew uther was a tyrant, and she knew morgana’s heart. someone is gonna tell me that if morgana had explained to gwen what happened, how her magic was innate, how morgana would never fucking choose to have magic anywhere near her shithead guardian (who probably would have killed her imo if he knew bc you know the whole “fire will purify” bullshit), that gwen would hate her??? I MEAN LITERALLY WATCH THE LAST EPISODES AGAIN. when QUEEN GWEN realizes that the whole time it was merlin saving everyone’s asses, and she connected all the dots, her face showed nothing but pure understanding and acceptance.
gwen was such an underused character. her fucking potential arcs could have been phenomenal (again, LOL, another matter for a different essay™️), and the way canon made morgana use gwen was fucking gross and im not a fan🙃 but fuck canon. i ship them and i love them to pieces ✌🏻thank you for coming to my talk✌🏻
my opinions on manon mf blackbeak:
oh boy, where do i start? i would die for her...is that too extreme for the starting place? i fucking LOVE manon blackbeak dude. oh my god, so, remember when her and aelin fought for the first time in QoS? i remember jumping up from my lounging position with my hand over my smiling mouth because i love both of these badass hardcore women with everything i am. i mean, aelin owns my ass (she is probably my favorite character of all time rn) but manon hits differently. her storyline at the beginning was so bleh, but, man, did it escalate fast to “holy shit” to “i fucking love her” to “oh fuck im sobbing.”
the only thing i will complain about with her character in canon was the fact that my girl was straight???? excuse me?? she has been alive for fucking forever and she is straight? no. i cant accept that. tbh i ship manon and elide🥺 (i also ship dorain and chaol oops). but her character development was everything and i cant think too long on what happens because i will start crying tbh sksjsmakks
okay wow im so sorry for, uh, spilling every thought i had into this. it legit took me like a day to respond 😔
i appreciate you so much. thank you🥺💞

hi celi :)) 🐬🧮🚏🔮🪐 !!
Angie <3 <3 <3 :D
🐬 - “Favorite English lyric?”
OOF you know I gotta say-- I have a few.
“Fly to the sky” - Get Cool Felix’s “Cookin’ like a chef” - God’s Menu “LIKE AN ASTRONAUT” 😩🌠 - Astronaut “I’ll always be on track” - On Track (Even a Fool Knows) ((I put this one in a scrapbook 🤪💓))
I’m sure there’s more but my sleep-ded brain can only think of those for now
🧮 - “A concept you’d like them to try?”
I think I’d like to see a storybook/fairytale/mythology theme? I think having an album that’s like a book and every song is a chapter or important moment in that story...they already kinda do something like this but, ah, hopefully you know what I mean 😅 I imagine it to be a softer, dreamy aesthetic as well, with lots of deep hidden secrets and values portrayed. And like, the whole thing is a synchronized dream they’re all having; or maybe they got sucked into a book and have to fight to make it back home
🚏 - “Song recommendations from your bias?”
Okay listen everything that Chan my man has written is phenomenal 😩✨I’d recommend just about anything that’s been written by him
🔮 - “Last dream you had about SKZ?”
BRUHHH okay listen. I have what a friend of mine calls “Fire Emblem” dreams and what this means is-- if you’ve ever played or heard of the Fire Emblem franchise, the games consist of long RPG stories with plenty of plot twists and turns. The last one I had was actually last night and it consisted of Hyun and Felix listening to me tell a story to this girl I was babysitting??? It was weird and not Fire Emblem-y so I’ll give you my biggest tea one I remember.
My friend and I (I’ll call her Kumi, her sometimes-internet name) had been hired as detectives to solve a burglary for some snotnosed princess’s missing crown. The King was a man who liked games so he additionally hired our rivals, SKZ, who ran a detective agency across town. Whoever found the thief (who was apparently also a murderer, as he killed a few guards and servants) would get a ~handsome~ reward and become the modern kingdom’s official sleuths.
Kumi and I were raring to go and dashed off to do our research. We decided to start by interviewing all the potential suspects that the palace guard had managed to gather for our convivence (lol). Because SKZ got fair dibs as well we chose to split up and multitask; she would take a few suspects to the library and I would take the other half gathered in a waiting area. She went off to the library followed by half the guys, and I entered another room where a suspect was already waiting for interrogation.
Oddly enough it was...this giant closet??? There were lots of clothes and boxes but I just ignored them and sat at the small table. I asked a few questions and jotted notes until I became keenly aware that it was just the two of us in a closed off room and for a sec could only stare at the closed, dark brown door. Then I dumbly looked back at the suspect, and he had this evil grin on his face and pulled out a knife.
I’m a very pro-safety gal so I immediately jumped up and reached for my taser and/or pepper spray but before I got there Seungmin comes walking out of the thick wall of clothes with a calm, pleasant smile on his face. He asks the man what he thought he was doing and starts commenting nonchalantly about “what a lovely day it is” and the man, for some reason, acts very afraid and drops his weapon, and Seungmin handcuffs him and has Lino and Changbin escort him out. Flushed from my possible-death experience and embarrassed at my stupidity I thanked him for saving me (note: this would be the first of three dreams he ends up saving my behind (nonromatically) idk why he’s just my guardian angel apparently). I made a joke about being his enemy in the contest, and he laughed and said it was no problem. When I asked why he was hiding between the clothes or where he came from/how long he’d been there, he just smirked and didn’t say anything. 😳💧
Before we stepped out I asked if he’d like to form an alliance and split the reward, and he agreed. Seungmin and I were partners for the rest of the dream, later joined by Felix, Han, and Hyunjin, who had gained a crush on Kumi. Because I’m a Chan stan I later asked Minnie where he was at, and he replied by pointing somewhere behind me. I turned around to find the princess drooling all over him and working her feminine charm and uh...🔥🔥🔥 started walking over to drag her off but he ended up politely turning her down 🥰🤪 Seungmin told Chan about the growing alliance and he got the others to sign off on it, so then we all worked together and found the crown!!! ...Felix actually found it in like the princess’s bathroom LMAO it was never stolen she was just...careless and wanted attention.
The End <3
🪐 - “Funniest SKZ meme or tweet you’ve seen recently?”
I don’t have nor do I check Twitter but I’ll share my favorite Jeongin (and skz) meme of all time with y’all 😊

Gender and Almodóvar’s The Skin I Live In
There is no doubt that this film makes for uncomfortable viewing. Like most of Almodovar’s work, the themes are complex and painful. The Skin I Live In is predominantly filmed in Toledo with some scenes shot in Galicia. The Guardian review of the film describes it as the fusion of “dark thriller, gothic horror story and poetic myth” visiting most of Almodovar’s predominant themes over his almost 40 year long career, “from maternal devotion through sexual identity to obsessional activity” (The Guardian).
The overt focus of The Skin I Live In is anatomy and corporeal entrapment. The film is heavy with intertextuality. Almodovar bases the story on French novel Mygale by Thierry Jonquet - the story of a French plastic surgeon who has a private clinic in a mansion in which he keeps a submissive partner and a daughter in an asylum - strong similarities to the characters Gal, Marilia, Vicente/Vera and Nora. A further literary parallel is Ibsen’s A Doll’s House. Women imprisoned in the interior of the home, as if pets, is a strong theme in common between the 19th century play and this 21st century film.
The Skin I Live In is also highly comparable to Almodovar’s earlier 2002 film Talk to Her. The main difference between the two films is the presence of the female voice. While all women in The Skin I Live In have compromised realities and limits to their autonomy, they are still able to articulate themselves. The corporeal jail is more literal in Talk to Her due to the women’s comatose states.
I will focus on the theme of historical trauma; how family, and cultural, history repeats itself. The most obvious example of this is Norma’s suicide; she dies the same way her mother did. Marilia warns Robert that she believes the same fate will come of Vera, suggesting Robert kill her before she kills herself: “If you don’t kill her, she’ll kill herself” (Marilia to Robert, at the kitchen table).
Marilia is an interesting example of a woman who despairs due to the limits of her power and positionality as a woman. She has given birth to two sons - Robert and Zeca - who both turn out to be monsters, the perpetrators of pain. This begs the question if mothers on their own have the power to shape their sons when societal forces are also at work in forming men’s character. In other words, it is through Marilia that we see cultural machinations of machismo override maternal power.
I see allusions to Lorca’s Yerma throughout The Skin I Live In. For example, Marilia laments that it was she who gave birth to Robert but Mrs. Ledgard, who was unable to bear her own children, raised him. Marilia is horrified by the men she has inadvertently produced; she states “I’ve got insanity in my entrails”. Although Vera is the character whose captivity is most explicit, I think Marilia is also imprisoned. She confides in Vera that she has worked for the Ledgards since she was a child. Moreover, in conversation with her odious son Zeca, she states “I am just a servant” - she is aware that her status is lowly.
To me, one of the most moving scenes in The Skin I Live In is the candid conversation between Marilia and Vera in which the former explains everything that culminated in where they find themselves in that moment. Vera, having just experienced brutal violation, sits in a daze smoking a cigarette. Vicente is quickly initiated into the violence that comes along with inhabiting a female body. Marilia orates her history in a matter of fact way while cleaning up the blood soaked sheets, the aftermath of homicide - not any homicide - the slaying of one of her sons by the other. Almodovar’s plot is bloody and convoluted in epic proportion. As we have seen in his other movies, Almodovar’s female characters are typically the ones relegated to cleaning up, or hiding, men’s violence. Marilia does not cry, nor does she exhibit extreme emotion. She simply collects the sheets as if she knows that this is what women have to do.
Almodovar portrays feminine qualities in a positive light that is not afforded to the men in The Skin I Live In. Robert is an example of hubris and contempt. He typifies male chauvinism and exhibits an extreme psychological need to have absolute control over his surroundings, including the people in his proximity. I question whether his daughter Norma was inherently mentally unstable or whether her psychical fragility is the result of his megalomania. She lists an astonishing number of drugs to Vicente; it is no wonder she is in a stupor. Moreover, Norma exhibits an overt fear of all things male. Upon seeing her father in the hospital, she becomes fearful and hides in the closet. The only way the woman doctor can coax her out is by announcing that all the men have left the room.I think Norma is an explicit trope of what Almodovar is trying to communicate throughout The Skin I Live In - the dangers inherent in the stereotypes of masculinity: aggression and subjugation of others.
In my view Robert exemplifies the intellectual dangers of hyper-masculinity - the perils of thinking we have the power of the Gods to create and destroy as we wish. Zeca, on the other hands, represents bodily, visceral dangers of “machismo”. Zeca is a rapist. His primal urges rule him; we see little of Zeca’s rational faculties in action. He is savage, explicitly seen in his apt tiger costume as well his licking of the security footage screen - he wishes to “have”, to consume, Vera. Indeed, the fact that he mistakes Vera for Gal shows that, to Zeca, all women are reducible to one another.
Martín argues that “the most brutalizing (monologue) of the film” (Gendered Logics of Violence, p. 114) is the one in which Robert instructs Vicente-turned-Vera to self-dilate using a series of different size speculums. This scene is so horrendous because of its reductive approach toward femininity. In that moment, all that is “female” is reduced to an orifice. Is Vicente/Vera’s experience true to the female experience? Martín says that he lives his “future sexuality as a pathology (as many women are taught to do)” (Gendered Logics of Violence, p. 115). Indeed, with the rise of cosmetic surgery and invasive manipulations of the body, the “sci-fi” elements of The Skin I Live In are disturbingly more reality than fiction.
In a similar vein to Robert, Zeva does not have the sophistication to see the individuality of women-bodied persons. One would assume that in such intimate proximity with another human (when he is violating her), the discovery would be made that Vera and Gal are not in fact the same person; Vera is a mere doppelganger (done by Robert on purpose to resemble his late wife with whom Zeca had an affair).
Indeed, it is Zeca’s affair with Gal which seems to catalyse the series of anguishing events. Robert is cuckolded by Zeca and thus his masculinity and ego have been severely wounded. His failure to control the lives and circumstances of his wife, Gal, and daughter, Norma’s, lives leaves him a “failure” within the narrow confines of the hegemonic structures of masculinity. It is thus that all of the horror and violence of The Skin I Live In can be explained in gendered terms.
Martín posits that “on one level, the film would appear to be a story of revenge: one of an angry father” (Gendered Logics of Violence, p. 111) vengefully pursuing a man, Vicente, who has wronged his daughter and in so doing insulted his masculinity - the typical wound inflicted upon a man in an “honour” society. However, I think the genius of The Skin I Live In is that it transcends the personal in order to critically expose the perverse beliefs which underpin Western social structures. This is one of the main reasons that The Skin I Live In is so uncomfortable - because we can see our own ugly realities in the extremity of the plot. Almodovar successfully shines a light on the misogyny and domestic captivity which we so easily overlook.

Yo tell me more about that funky fish lad and the gal in the 3rd pic from the top
ok so MORE UNDER THE CUT, this is a lot
FISH BOY is a good boy named Arno; he’s a deep sea creature that fled the depths due to a much larger, predatory creature that kind of eclipses just about anything else it encounters!! doesn’t mean he wasn’t a great underwater predator, he just wasn’t near the size of the other creature to defend his territory. he slowly got used to the villagers nearby and came to live among them, but considering he was made for the dark, the sun kinda hurts his eyes!! he wears shades a lot
he also really likes yoyos and has never seen them until he left the ocean, so everywhere he goes, he’s doing that dumbass “walk the dog” shit but with like four yoyos
the girl in the third pic is named Amarillo! she’s the younger, more powerful sister of the lady in the fifth picture. aside from having a really big magical reserve, she draws lots of her power from the shadows around her, so she doesn’t particularly like the light. she’s an excellent melee fighter and great sorceress, and lots of her summons she generates from the shadows!! the lil creature sitting near her is a shadow bunny
amarillo was cast out of the village at a young age for her uncontrollable magic and birth defects (monstrous teeth that allow her to unhinge her jaw; attributed to the land she was born in being corrupted) and was abandoned by her older sister for a cult. she came across a temple in the desert during a terrible sandstorm and decided to stay, but in doing so, she found herself in one of anubis’s sacred temples. she basically made a pact with him and is now a servant/guardian of the temple bc there’s lots of tombs that people would love to raid!!
anubis only takes on one disciple at a time and provides them with shelter and basic needs to ensure they are living comfortably. since he has taken her on, there have been no successful raids. most of the thieves die before they even get past the first hallway!!

28th June >> Daily Reflection on Today's First Reading (Genesis 15:1-12, 17-18) for Roman Catholics on Wednesday of the Twelfth Week of Ordinary Time
Commentary on Genesis 15:1-12, 17-18 Here we have the first of the formal covenants between God and Abram and later between God and the Israelites. It begins with a general promise from God in a vision to Abram: Fear not, Abram! I am your shield; your reward will be very great. “Shield” here signifies “King”. “Fear not!” is a phrase repeated again and again throughout Scripture. But it does not reassure Abram. He has heard these promises already but so far nothing has happened. What good are all God’s blessings if Abram remains childless and without an heir and has to bequeath his property to his steward, Eliezer? “You have given me no offspring, so one of my servants will be my heir.” It is known that in Mesopotamia a childless man could adopt one of his own male servants to be heir and guardian of his estate. But God reaffirms his former promise: “No, that one (Eliezer) will not be your heir; your own issue will be your heir.” He tells Abram to look up at the night sky and try to count the stars, if he can. His descendants will be just as numerous. It is said that on a clear night 8,000 stars can be seen in a Middle Eastern sky but, for most people, it means a number beyond counting. And, in spite of the unlikelihood of that happening, “Abram put his faith in the Lord, who credited to him as an act of righteousness.” It is an act of trust in a promise which, from a human point of view, could not be realised. God then acknowledges that Abram’s act of trust is worthy of reward based on his ‘righteousness’, namely, on his integrity and humble submission to God, which makes a person pleasing to God. Paul will use this text to prove that justification before God depends on our faith and trust in him and not on the external observance of the Law. At the same time, because Abram’s faith was the source of his carrying out God’s wishes, James in his Letter cites the same text to show that faith which does not result in good behaviour is ‘dead’. There is no contradiction here: we do not ‘earn’ salvation by the ‘good works’ we do or by observing regulations and laws but a genuine commitment in faith to God and his teaching naturally overflows into acts of love and care for others. Paul, then, makes Abram’s faith a model for all Christians (cf. Rom 4:1-25; Gal 3:6-9). As an encouragement to Abram, God reminds him that “I am the Lord who brought you from Ur of the Chaldeans to give you this land as a possession.” But Abram is not fully convinced. He is living in this land but how can be sure that he will gain full possession of it? Abram is then instructed to prepare to offer a sacrifice. He is told to bring animals from his flocks: a three-year-old heifer, a three-year-old she-goat, a three-year-old ram, a turtle dove and a young pigeon. At three years an animal was regarded as ritually mature. The animals were cut in two and each half facing the other; the two birds, however, were not cut. Birds of prey came down on the dead animals but Abram drove them away. As the sun set, Abram fell into a kind of trance and “a deep, terrifying darkness” overcame him -a sure sign of the awesome presence of God coming down on him. When the sun had set and darkness had fallen, a smoking brazier and a flaming torch passed between the two rows of animal offerings. As often in Scripture, the smoke and fire represent God’s presence. Although the text does not mention it, Abram may also have walked between the two rows of split carcasses, although it could be that God alone, as the one initiating a unilateral agreement, walked between them. As the Bible and also contemporary inscriptions make clear, agreements were sometimes ratified by walking between the divided pieces of animals. While they did so, the contracting parties would call down on themselves a fate similar to that of the slaughtered beast, if they should fail to keep their word. Here the two partners to the agreement are God and Abram although the chief initiator and implementer is God. The covenant consisted of a promise to Abram to give him land in perpetuity – from the Wadi of Egypt to the Great River, the Euphrates. It was this covenant which would guarantee Abram’s possession of the land he was occupying but also a sign that the promise of an heir would also be fulfilled. We are very close now to that happening. It is this total trust of Abram in God’s promise which will be retold again and again down the ages and on into the New Testament (Paul’s letters and the Letter to the Hebrews). In Jesus, of course, we have a new covenant and it is for us to be part of it. Let us pray for that faith and trust of Abram, when against all hope he continued to hope.
