🔴KNEE PAIN WHEN SQUATTING🔴 by @pheasyque - Do you remember what the bro coach at the gym says? “Keep your feet aligned with your feet when squatting!” And while they’re still bros and probably mistake on most of the advice they give.. in this case they’re right. Do they know why? I don’t know, but you surely will after this post. - So.. why should your feet point the same direction of your knees? - Well, our knees are “locked” and can only move in one direction: they bend forward. - They can’t bend sideways because our ligaments prevent us from doing so. And they can’t bend backwards either. - This means that, if we try to rotate our feet (either outwards or inwards) and squat down, we will implement a torquing force on our knees, as opposed to what would happen when keeping the feet aligned with them. - 💡Think about when you wring out a towel. - Now, once you have the image, think about this happening under load, or under very heavy loads.. and you can come up with the reason why you’re knees can fuck up. 🤷🏻‍♂️ - Before starting your reps, make sure you check all the boxes. Your feet have to bend on the same axis of your femur. Same line. - Sure, you don’t break your knees at the first try or even 2nd or 3rd try, but over time, applying a heavy & torquing force on something that isn’t meant to torque (your knees) will cause you troubles no matter what. 🔴FAT LOSS & WEIGHT LOSS🔴 by @pheasyque - Did you know this? - I bet all of you wonder why, even if you start dieting, your weight just doesn’t want to go down. And no, it’s not because you’re “special”, “God hates you” or whatever your reason might be.. the simple answer is: Water retention. - And besides the muscle gains that could happen for beginners [(and still impair WEIGHT) but not fat loss] let’s take a finer look at what happens to the fat cells once you start dieting. - When you start eating at a caloric deficit, meaning that you’re now providing less nutrients to your body, for it to use its internal stores of energy, your fat cells start releasing fat for the “missing” energy not coming from your diet. - However, because these cells are VERY stubborn, they get refilled with water first, before saying the final goodbye. - It’s like a double check from your body which’s telling you: “are you really wanting me to release this precious stored energy?” - Yeah.. This means your weight could fluctuate alot and even go higher, freak you out more and make you quit, but you shouldn’t. I know how frustrating it is to see your weight either stall or go higher when you’re depriving yourself, but that’s just the way it is! - You’re just one step further from finally losing the water weight which is literally MASKING your progress, and finally reveal your hard work done in the past weeks. - As always consistency is key.
