Hello dear followers! It is I, white artist! Because I believe in diversity I took this Japanese character (who I view as white) and turned them into a Black character (which is the only (overgeneralised) ethnicity I see the inclusion of as diversity) Perhaps when this does well I shall make some fanart of my favourite middle eastern, south east asian, and desi characters (whitewashed, of course) as a reward! and then maybe I'll write a rant about how Japanese Media about Japanese characters lacks diversity due to its all white cast.

Hi everyone, long time! About 4 years or so. I hope you’re all doing well. 

Like for many of you (I would imagine) the last couple of years have been pretty rough. I had to put my attention elsewhere and I fell off the social media map for a while. I’m still working on getting back up to speed and in the swing of things.

do you have any brand recs for mcbling or gyaru clothing/accessories? especially brands that aren’t super pricey 🙁

Thank you for the ask! Luckily for your wallet mcbling and gyaru have a lot of style overlap! Unfortunately there aren’t many modern gyaru brands and most the vintage gyaru items are very pricey. For many gyaru substyles you don’t necessarily have to have brand clothes as long as your make (makeup) is true to the rules of whatever substyle you’re doing. Because of this you can find a lot of good things for a gyaru wardrobe at a thrift store or off second hand sites like Depop or Poshmark.

Here are some staple gyaru wardrobe items to look for:

- platform shoes

- ripped jeans

- mini skirts (solid, patterned, or denim)

- knee highs or thigh highs

- fruit print

- fishnets (small/medium hole)

- chunky statement jewelry

- leg warmers

- short shorts

- animal print clothing

- cold shoulder tops

- bell sleeves

- newsboy hats

- hibiscus and other floral print

Now mcbling brands work for gyaru fashion too, here are some good places to look:
