I know we all love “hi, dad” but I cut together every time Gabe says “mom” in Next to Normal. because I’m a masochist or something. context for each under the cut.

1. “you’ve gotta let go, mom. I’m almost 18.”

2. *seeing Diana making sandwiches on the floor* “mom?”

3. “are you sure about [dumping your pills], mom?”

4. “wouldn’t you like to […] let your son go at last?” “yes… I would.” “mom?”

5 & 6. “mom, mom! please don’t let them do this! [ECT] causes brain damage!”

interestingly, he doesn’t say it at all after she has the ECT.
