Relatable
Kageyama threw himself onto the floor along the wall of the gym angrily, grabbing his water bottle.
Tsukkishima, who was sitting a few feet away, glanced over. "What's wrong King? Are we not performing well enough for you today?"
Kageyama merely grunted, taking a deep drink from his water bottle. Tsukkishima's eyes widened momentarily.
"Wow, no protest on being called King? You must either be starting to accept your title or be seriously messed up in the head today, not that I really care."
Now Kageyama glared at him. Tsukkishima grinned to himself, there was the arrogant King he was used to, everything was back to normal. Or so he thought.
"Well, actually I'm very frustrated!" Kageyama growled, looking down at his water bottle with the intensity he usually reserved for when Hinata made a mistake on the court.
"Oh no, please don't misunderstand, I really don't care." Tsukki interjected, really not ready for his second least favorite person to start a deep conversation with him. The number one spot on his "People That Can Fall Off a Cliff Anytime Now" list was reserved for Hinata.
Kageyama clicked his tongue, "Fine! I don't know what I was thinking, you couldn't understand anyway."
Tsukki bristled internally, no WAY an idiot like Kageyama would tell him that he couldn't understand something. "Try me." He said coldly, angling himself to face Kageyama.
Kageyama glanced out from under his bangs quickly, trying to gauge if Tsukkishima was mocking him or not. As usual, the blonde's face was unreadable.
Kageyama leaned his head back against the wall, exhaling sharply, "It is just extremely frustrating when you have certain..." he flinched "feelings... for a person and they just have no CLUE!" He emphasized his last word by slamming his hand onto the gym floor. He glared out at the gym almost angrily, his forehead wrinkling.
Tsukki followed his gaze across the gym to a certain small orange haired boy, but remained quiet.
"It's like, you give them all these hints and practically scream at them 'Hey! I like you! In a not so platonic way!' and it just goes right over their head!" Kageyama continued, his face taught.
Tsukki smirked "Kageyama. Yelling at someone and glaring at them doesn't exactly send them a 'come hither' vibe."
"I don't do that!" Tsukki gave Kageyama a pointed look, and he blushed slightly. "W-well, whatever! My point is, I'm just very upset because it's horrible spending almost all of your time with the person you care about and they have no idea how you're feeling. It's like you're invisible to them while being... Visible?" Tsukki giggled, earning him a glare from Kageyama, who stood abruptly. "Whatever Tsukkishima, its not like you'd understand anyway!"
Kageyama trotted away, heading back to practice with the setters and spiders. Tsukki turned his gaze to a slender boy covered in freckles, practicing serves on the far court.
"Oh no Kageyama, I can relate." He murmured, walking over to practice with his best friend.

If you're still taking prompts, could you please write something about DaiSuga, a cold day, and a realization? Thank you ❤️ much love
Koushi yawns, tiptoeing out of his bedroom to his kitchen. It’s late morning andn early noon, but it’s a Sunday, so he allows the hazy feeling of sleep to wrap around him like a blanket. He’s tempted to actually burrow back into the blankets as goosebumps rise on his bare skin in the autumn chill. He rubs his eyes as he steps through the doorway.
Daichi is already at the stove, peering down at a frying pan with a quizzical expression. The egg carton is open and empty on the counter, cheese and ham and green onions spread out on the chopping board, too neatly to be anything but an attempt at something new.
Sunlight washes through the open space from the living room window. It’s bright enough there’s no need to turn the light on. Koushi has lived in this apartment since moving out from home for school. Yet it’s never felt more warm and familiar with the sight of Daichi’s broad shoulders and bare feet and the sound of eggs sizzling on the stove.
Koushi’s fingers grip the front of his sweater—one of Daichi’s, loose and worn and fraying at the hem but comfortable all the same—and he’s barely aware of himself gravitating towards the other man in his kitchen.
“Daichi,” Koushi says.
Frying pan in hand, Daichi sends a smile over his shoulder. “Good morning,” he says, “You said you wanted to try omelettes like they made it on tv last time, so I thought I’d give it a try—”
“Daichi,” Koushi says again, almost blurting it out. Winter is approaching and the heating in this apartment has been throwing tantrums for the past month, but there’s a certain warmth flooding through Koushi’s chest, all the way to the tips of his fingers and toes. “Daichi, move in with me.”
The eggs are still sizzling on the frying pan in Daichi’s hands. His eyes are wide, expression surprised, but not startled. Then he’s melting into that wonderful smile of his, the one that makes Koushi feel like he’s seventeen and standing on the national court all over again.
“Okay,” Daichi says. “Okay.”
Koushi has never felt more at home.
feel free to send in ur faves and a prompt!!

Hold Me
Daichi hated his job. He hated plugging numbers into a computer and he hated writing reports and he hated fixing the damn copy machine. By 10 am he had already spilled coffee on his shirt, went to a bullshit meeting, and helped Kiyoko fix her desk chair. Two hours down, six to go.
It hadn’t been so bad before, but when Suga got sick he had to take a few months off work and Daichi had to pick up the slack. He really didn’t mind, anything he could do to make Suga’s recovery easier.
But being in the office for eight hours, six days a week was pretty exhausting. And not just physically.
He couldn’t help thinking, he used to be somebody. He was a captain of a nationals level volleyball team. He was someone people looked up to. Someone people looked to for leadership and trusted. People has always told him that he was going to do great things in life, he was set up for success. Now he was just another number in a statistic, a low level worker in an accounting firm.
He felt like he was completely frozen, with frost on his lips and ice in his stomach. It had happened slowly, but being stuck in a place like this had left him cold, as though there were no life left in him. He was in the same place doing the same thing and he felt like he never saw Suga, who was too weak to really leave home. He had dreamed of owning his own business or traveling for a while before settling down with the man he loved. But he couldn’t help feeling he would never get out of this place.
When Daichi finally got back to the apartment he and Suga shared after work he could smell soup on the stove.
“Daichi!” Suga popped his head around the corner, “I’m making sausage lentil soup for dinner! Welcome home!” He flashed Daichi a huge smile, then disappeared.
Daichi felt some warmth return to his fingers, and followed his silver haired lover into the kitchen.
Suga was at the stovetop, stirring the soup and mumbling something about a bay leaf. Daichi plucked the missing herb off of the counter and reached around Suga to drop it into a pot.
“Looking for this?” He teased, pinching the fabric at the base of Suga’s shirt. The warmth started moving from his fingertips up his arm. He could swear he felt the ice cracking.
Suga turned around and gave him another million watt smile. “What would I do without you?” He reached up one hand to stroke Daichi’s hair while the other settled at his shoulder.
Daichi felt a smile creep across his own face, and looped his arms around the smaller man’s waist. “How was your appointment today?” He asked, preparing for the worst but hoping for the best. Suga had been feeling better lately but the doctor had predicted at first that his recovery would last another month or so, Suga had been affected very strongly by mono as he had originally tried to keep working and over exerted himself.
The smile stayed on Suga’s face as he answered, “He said that the mono really took a toll on me, but thanks to all the time off I’m completely recovered! No more weakness or symptoms. If you hadn’t taken all that extra time it wouldn’t have turned out like this.” He presses a small kiss to Daichi’s lips. “I can’t even tell you how grateful I am. Thank you for helping me through this.”
The last of the ice around Daichi’s heart finally melted, this man in front of him finally made him feel human again. He yanked Suga in roughly for a hug. It was so easy for him to forget what he was making this sacrifice for. He wasn’t a failure, and this wasn’t the end. It was just a beginning.
Suga cleared his throat, but his voice was still muffled against Daichi’s shoulder“So I know it isn’t much but if you take a few days off then maybe we can go to the ocean for a few days? I’m well enough to travel and it’s relatively inexpensive.”
Daichi said nothing, but Suga could feel him shaking slightly.
“Daichi?” He asked quietly, his voice laced with concern.
“Just hold me.” Daichi answered hoarsely, and so Suga did.

Incredible
It was raining the day that Yamaguchi found out.
"What, really? He didn't tell you?" Hinata asked around the meat bun he was devouring, "I figured you would have been the first to know."
Yamaguchi shook his head slowly. He felt as though the rain hitting the roof were tiny bullets, each trying harder and harder than the last to get to him.
Kageyama sipped his milk slowly "Well she's really pretty, I hear she's a second year."
Tadashi could feel the roof getting thinner and thinner, a few bullets pushing through.
"She actually resembles you a bit Yamaguchi kun." Hinata said, squinting slightly, "She's got freckles and everything!"
Tadashi could feel the rain hitting him, stinging his cheeks, his lips, his chest.
Kageyama scoffed "How Tsukkishima got a girlfriend I'll-"
Yamaguchi couldn't hear the rest of his sentence, it was downpouring in his head. His heart was soaked and riddled by sopping bullets.
It wasn't that he and Tsukki had been an item... He knew that. But Tsukki had always been his, always been there when he needed someone to talk to at midnight, always made Tadashi a priority. Yamaguchi knew that he might never return his feelings, but as always he held onto stupid, stupid hope. Like a child. Like an idiot.
How lame.
"Yamaguchi!" Hinata's voice snapped Tadashi out of his reverie, "What is it? You look constipated."
Yamaguchi forced a bright smile across his face. "Nothing! I was just thinking how happy I am for Tsukki! A girlfriend... How incredible."

Colors
Since he was a small child, Tobio’s favorite had always been blue. But recently, when asked what color he had liked best, he had trouble deciding.
If you asked him yesterday he may have said cream. Or porcelain, he didn’t know quite how to describe the exact color of the soft skin on the inside of Shoyou’s thighs.
If you had asked him on Sunday he would say cinnamon. Hinata’s dark brown eyes turned a few shades lighter when hit by the sun, and waking up and gazing into them was Kageyama’s favorite weekend morning routine. It woke him up better than coffee.
His mind always flashed to orange, whenever he caught a glimpse of the bright color while he was walking alone he felt his heart rate picking up. He found himself buying more and more orange things, slowly brightening his room with little dollar chatskies.
Or maybe Kageyama’s favorite color was pink. Pink somewhere between rose and coral. Tobio wasn’t exactly sure what to call it, all he knew was that it was soft and delicate, blooming across Shoyou’s cheeks after a particularly long kiss.
Maybe Kageyama would never know his favorite color, but he was pretty sure he could name his favorite person.

Robot
Kenma jolted upright in bed, his heart pounding. Next to him, Kuroo flinched, opening his eyes slowly.
“Kenma?” He grumbled, rubbing his eyelids. “What is it?”
Kenma ran his hands over his face and through his hair, acting as though he couldn’t hear. His face was slick with sweat and he was breathing hard. Kuroo frowned when he didn’t respond.
“Kenma, what’s wrong? Go back to sleep.” He tugged at Kenma’s arm until the smaller boy sank back down onto the bed, and then pulled him against his chest.
Kuroo nuzzled his face into Kenma’s hair, breathing in deeply. Yes, his boyfriend was sweaty but he still smelled nice, kind of a mix between coffee and sandalwood.
As he started drifting back to sleep he heard Kenma whisper something.
“What?” He murmured back, struggling to stay awake.
“Kuroo... Do you think I’m emotionless? A robot?”
Kuroo could hear his voice crack, and could feel his own heart shatter.
“Kozume Kenma, I have never met a person with a bigger heart than you.” Kuroo whispered fiercely, planting a kiss in the back of Kenma’s head.
Kenma struggled to turn around in order to hug him back, nuzzling his face into Kuroo’s chest, making it hard for Kuroo to hear him when he said, “Please don’t leave me.”
“Never.” He replied. Kenma squeezes his waist slightly, then fell silent. Kuroo kept himself awake until he could feel Kenma’s breathing even out.
“I love you, silly kitten.” He whispered, and then allowed himself to join his love in sleep

Epiphany
Kageyama sprinted down the sidewalk, feet slapping against the pavement. He could hear Hinata yelling, a little over a yard behind him. Smirking, he picked up the pace a little more, really pushing his limits. He was going to win again this time too.
He turned a corner quickly, starting to navigate the back streets of the town. It took him a minute to notice that the endless stream of expletives had stopped. He glanced over his shoulder, stopping abruptly. His small orange haired companion was no longer behind him.
Kageyama clicked his tongue against the roof of his mouth "Damn Hinata! Only you could get lost in a town you've known your whole life, dumbass..." The tall boy turned around and started to retrace his steps.
"Hinata! Come on! This means I win again you know, maybe I even get two points since you got lost, idiot!" He called out, peeking between buildings. His frown became deeper. Hinata hadn't been that far behind him, surely he had to be somewhere nearby?
"Hinata! This isn't funny, I'll be home late if you keep this up!" He called out, his voice getting a teeny but higher. No response. Kageyama started jogging, making his way back to the main road. His heart rate accelerated, where was that shorty??
Tobio's palms began to sweat, his heartbeat frantic now. He could hear his pulse, fee his cheeks heating up. Maybe Hinata wasn't lost, what if he was in an accident? What if somebody had taken him? With every thought Kageyama began to run faster and faster, at this speed he might as well be on the track team instead of volleyball.
He came out onto the main road, and was about to turn to the direction of the school when a flash of orange caught his eye.
There was Hinata, sitting inside a convenience store eating a granola bar. Kageyama felt all of the anxiety drain out of him, from the top of his head out of his toes and seeing into the sidewalk. And then a fury filled all the open spaces, ripping open like fire in a hot air balloon after the cord has been pulled.
He stormed into the store, and as Hinata spotted him he smiled widely, but the smile soon faded as he saw the expression on Kageyama's face.
"K-Kageyama kun-" he stammered but Tobio cut him off quickly with a shove.
"What are you doing dumbass?! We were in the middle of a race! What on earth would possess you to go into a store!? I was calling out for you!" He practically growled, hands shaking.
Hinata swallowed hard "I just, I got hungry... And I thought it would be funny to leave you running like that with no competition..."
"You thought it was funny!? I was worried sick!" Kageyama shoved him again, not pleased with his friend's answer.
Hinata scowled, shoving back. "What's your problem, Bakeyama? I just went into a store!"
Kageyama scowled back, "Whatever, I don't have time for this. See you tomorrow." He left the store quickly, not letting Hinata say goodbye. What his friend had said bothered him. What was his problem? Why had he gotten so worried? It wasn't uncommon for Hinata to go wandering off by himself, and Kageyama of all people knew that. Tobio's face crinkled in thought. When he thought of something bad happening to Hinata, it felt like his stomach was turning inside out. Never being able to set to him again, never giving a grudging high five again, never being able to hug-
Kageyama stopped abruptly. What had he just been about to think?? He looked down at his hands, eyes wide. He wanted to... hug Hinata? He ran his hands through his hair, he had a panic attack over his friend being missing and he wanted to hug him, to hold him?
He stood there for a minute, and the realization took a while to hit. It spread like sunshine from his heart up to his cheeks and out to his hands. He was falling for his best friend. He had feelings for his rival.
After a few minutes Kageyama smiled, and started walking towards home. Well, he thought, practice tomorrow would definitely be more interesting.
