Yesterday I was at a family gathering and they had Christmas music playing, I was bored so I went to Wonder of Wonder art and made Chupi and just watched him dance to Burrito Sabanero.

Daily instrument — Güiro

The güiro is a percussion instrument played in Latin music. The güiro comes in many shapes such as a frog, cricket, crocodile, cat, shaker, rattle, rasp etc. But all güiro are an instrument made out of naturalistic materials, with a serrated surface that produces sound when scraped with a stick. The güiro originates from either Africa or South America, slaves from Africa brought the instrument to the Caribbean. From there the güiro became extremely popular in Latin American music.

- She’s a theater kid all the way! Her favorite musical is Sweeney Todd.
