❝ MAKE YOUR MOVE is a collaborative full album by XPERIENCE ENTERTAINMENT’s KEROSENE and BREAKING NEWZ. The overall theme and concept was very retro 80s and 90s inspired. The 18 song tracklist is comprised with 6 songs written and recorded by KEROSENE, 6 songs written and recorded by BREAKING NEWZ, and 6 songs written and recorded by both bands. Accompanying the prerelease of the album was also the beginning of preordering tickets to their collaborative mini tour, GUYS AND GIRLS CAN BE JUST FRIENDS TOUR. As for promotions, the groups did a few music show stages and participated on WEEKLY IDOL together.  ❞

[GROUP]: “LIGHT IT UP! Hello, we’re KEROSENE!” 

The girls gave their signature intro and hand movements each smiling to the camera set up in front of them. They’re sat three in front and two behind.

[HWA-YOUNG]: And today, we are doing the WIRED Autocomplete Interview!

The screen cuts back to the five membered group, MI-SUN is holding one of the multiple foam boards with ‘who kerosene’ written in the search bar and three long strips of paper covering the most often searched questions underneath. Smiling the drummer moves her hair out of the way and lifts her hand to pull one of the papers off. 

[MI-SUN]: I’ll go first. 

[MI-SUN]: Who produces KEROSENE’s songs?

JI-YOON raises her hand as the other four members look towards her. 

[JI-YOON]: I’m usually the member who produces our songs, though other members - she gestures to a couple other members - will sometimes add their own thoughts and it usually turns out well.

The whole group share a few glances and chuckles. 

[MISUN]: Who is KEROSENE’s main vocalist?

[EUN-JI]: Ah, probably the most common question we receive. Technically on different profile websites it’s me.  

[HWA-YOUNG]: The answer to this changes quite often--

[MIN-JUNG]: Yeah - the slightly older 98′er chuckles as she cuts off her bandmate - it’s really based on what era we’re in! The main singer of the song switches sometimes.

[MI-SUN]: Who is KEROSENE’s leader? 

MI-SUN points behind her towards JI-YOON, the other members enthusiastically gesture towards her.

[GROUP] JI-YOON!

The aforementioned girl waves both hands, giving a quick peace peace sign towards the camera. 

Now holding the ‘what kerosene’ foam card, JI-YOON peels back the paper strips from each of the four questions. 

[JI-YOON]: What are KEROSENE’s fandom called?

[GROUP]: SPARKS!

[MI-SUN]: They came up with the name actually when we first debuted we didn’t have a name picked out for them. 

[JI-YOON]: What is KEROSENE’s first song?

[EUN-JI]: Start the fire - the two members in the back do small sections of the choreography with their arms - from our debut album Burn it up!

[JI-YOON]: All the way back in 2017.

[MIN-JUNG]: Thank you for supporting us and growing with us through the years - finger hearts - 

[EUN-JI]: Oh! It was Start the Fire’s four year anniversary a few weeks ago!

[JI-YOON]: What languages do KEROSENE member’s speak? - moving some of her hair from her eyes - I speak seven different language, three fluently those are English; French and; Chinese. And four with varying proficiency levels, which are Korean, German, Italian, and Thai. 

[HWA-YOUNG]: I speak three languages, Korean, English, and Thai!

[MI-SUN]: Three languages! English, Korean, Spanish!

[EUN-JI]: I only speak two at the moment, just English and Korean!

[MIN-JUNG]: Three as well, same as HWA-YOUNG, Thai, Korean, and English!

[JI-YOON]: What KEROSENE album should I buy?

[EUN-JI]: It’s a co-album era, it would only make sense you get both of them.

[HWA-YOUNG]: How old are KEROSENE members?

[EUN-JI]: Our International age or Korean? 

[HWA-YOUNG]: We can say both. I was born in ‘98 which makes me internationally 23, but my korean age is 24.

[MI-SUN]: Born in ‘97, internationally I’m 23 and my korean age is 25. 

[JI-YOON]: ‘96, internationally I’m 24, korean 26.

[EUN-JI]: ‘95 line. internationally 26, though in korean age I’m 27.

[MIN-JUNG]: And I was also born in ‘98 like HWA-YOUNG, making me also 23 internationally but 24 in korean age. 

[HWA-YOUNG]: How many KEROSENE members are there?

[JI-YOON]: Originally, we debuted with just four of us. 

- JI-YOON, EUN-JI, HWA-YOUNG, and MI-SUN each raise their hands - 

[MIN-JUNG]: Then I joined after HWA-YOUNG found me and convinced me to join. 

[HWA-YOUNG]: How did KEROSENE form? The age old question that sometimes forget about honestly.

- the five of them look between each other to see who was going to give the story explanation - 

[MI-SUN]: Well, myself and EUN-JI, and JI-YOON went to a certain class for a studies course in San Francisco and we would often see each other  around but never really spoke. And then a few months later we each were auditioning separately for a music competition and recognized each other and the three of us became friends quite quick. We then ran into HWA-YOUNG when she traveled from South Korea to California to audition for the competition as well. 

[EUN-JI]: She seemed a little lost and anxious and decided to help her, and a friendship was quickly formed. - she smiles and puts her arm around her - 

[HWA-YOUNG]: Then a few years later we’ve debuted somehow and went to my hometown in Jeonju where they were meeting my family. I told them about MIN-JUNG who transfered to my music school and that she played the keyboard really well and though she could be a great addition to the group. And here we are!

[HWA-YOUNG]: How to pronounce KEROSENE members names?

- as each member speaks they slowly pronounce their names in a way that the water could easily repeat - 

[HWA-YOUNG]: I’m HWA-YOUNG!

[JI-YOON]: JI-YOON!

[EUN-JI]: EUN-JI!

[MIN-JUNG]: MIN-JUNG!

[MI-SUN]: And I’m MI-SUN!

[MIN-JUNG]: Alright last category has arrived! - she smiles towards to camera and starts to peel off the paper strips - 

[MIN-JUNG]: Does all KEROSENE members live together?

[EUN-JI]: As of right now yes, although in a few months a couple of us are going to be moving out and getting our own apartments.

[MIN-JUNG]: Does KEROSENE members get along?

[MI-SUN]: Sometimes - the group share a laugh - it might not seem like it sometimes but it’s all just joking around.

[JI-YOON]: It’s nothing but love here...usually.

[MIN-JUNG]: Does KEROSENE write their own songs?

[EUN-JI]: Usually, as we said earlier JI-YOON is usually the one who produces our songs. So, she usually is in the song writing credits along with a few of us as well depending on the song in question. 

[MIN-JUNG]: Does KEROSENE have a lightstick?

[HWA-YOUNG]: Yes!

[EUN-JI]: Wr released the first version of our lightstick in 2019. It’s really a basic handle but the top is in the design of a flaim with varying color schemes each for a different member and with our official colors.

a few months into the tour the girls had to stop for a little to promote the two co-eras CRY BABY and YOUNG LIFE CRISIS. but after the few months of promoting that they continued the tour adding some of the newer songs in the setlist

❝ DON’T BE GREEDY is a 10-track album, released by KEROSENE, that actually didn’t have any promotions. It was secretly released on JANUARY 1ST 2019. They’ve talked about the album before it was released a few times on their podcast, OFF AIR also known as OFFLINE, that was really the only reason anyone would know about this era. The premise of the album itself is that half of the album are singles that have been released and another half of unreleased songs that were either going to be singles themselves or potential songs that were going to be on their past eras albums. As of currently, the album is only available to be purchased digitally, and the songs are only in English. ❞

❝ Promotions for the 20-track album YOUNG LIFE CRISIS was done through the NO APOLOGIES TOUR by KEROSENE. It was released FEBRUARY 2ND 2020 with a co-era CRY BABY. This era is described as their highest earned era, with it also giving them the most attention they’ve ever received. It’s more listened internationally but multiple of the songs had climbed their way up the Korean music charts; a few peaked at number 1, others in the top 50s and 20s.The feeling for this album is songs that could make you feel good even though you’re feeling the opposite. XPERIENCE ENTERTAINMENT COMPANY released an official statement after the rumors of the possibility that the band could be going on tour very soon have started to resurface coming from their most recent era UNDER THE INFLUENCE!. The rumors first started when the girls released their second album VOODOO DOLL back in 2017, their SPARKS were quick to believe that a possible tour is in the works. The girls have spoken on the possibility of a tour on a couple VLIVE streams back on DECEMBER 14TH, 17TH, 23RD, and 27TH in 2017. Twice in two seperate group VLIVEs, Jiyoon talked about it on a solo VLIVE, and the topic came up on a duo VLIVE stream with members HwaYoung and MiSun. Each of the four members have said that they’d love to do a tour on their podcast whether it means just a small tour around Asia or an International tour as well. 

When the band and company released that a fifth member is being added to the group, the rumors of their tour happening actually increased. It wasn’t until  SEPTEMBER 2ND 2019 that the rumors of the tour became reality as they released a statement announcing that the girls would be having their first international tour. Presale for tickets has already happening and are selling quickly. The tour will have four legs: ASIA, OCEANIA, NORTH AMERICA, and EUROPE. The number of shows is currently not confirmed though it is thought that there will be around 43-57 shows in total.

❝ Released by girl band KEROSENE on APRIL 7TH 2019 is the era that featured a few tracks with their, at the time, unreleased/unknown fifth member. NEVER GONNA LIKE YOU wasn’t really promoted at least in the way idols normally promote. This 7-track album is their fifth era. They promoted through social media as each of the members had or were recovering from some type of injury they had from the past couple of eras. So they weren’t able to promote on any music shows or variety shows. TELL YOUR FRIENDS was supposed to be their promoted title track for this album. This album is one of the few albums currently only available digitally. But each song can be listened in English and Korean. ❞

❝ CALM DOWN! is a four month promoted 9-track album released on JULY 25TH 2018. The era had the promoted title track, NO FRIENDS, as well as a promoted b-side track, HAIR. The girls wanted to add another member to their group, so during this promotion they were trying to talk their manager and company into letting them do it. Half way through the four month promotion the girls started looking for their fifth member even before they were given the go ahead from their manager and company. The album is available for purchase digitally or physically. Songs have been released in four languages: Korean, English, Chinese, and Japanese. ❞

❝ VOODOO DOLL is the second era for KEROSENE that was released SEPTEMBER 7TH 2017. The title track of this album is THIS MIGHT CAUSE A SCANDAL. It marked probably their most aggressive sounding era, with the majority of their songs leaning more punk and rock than the few normal pop sounding songs that were featured on the BURN IT UP! era’s album. The nine track album is currently only available in Korean and English. But can still be purchased digitally and physically. This era was, out of the two they have at this year, their most streamed era. Public promotions lasted about four months; although it was originally only supposed to be two months. After promoting the title track for almost two months the girl band also promoted two b-side songs, TEENAGE KNOCKOUT and REDRUM, from the album as well. ❞

❝ BURN IT UP! is the first album and debut for XPERIENCE ENTERTAINMENT’s first girl group band, KEROSENE. The album was released MAY 17TH 2017 and caused quick attention to be drawn from the KPOP industry. They were more watched internationally; especially in the United States and United Kingdom. Though they did receive a good amount of attention from certain KPOP companies and their groups. The girl quartet promoted this era for around four and a half weeks; with roughly three week pre-debut promotions before the album was released. The full seven track album is available in three different languages: English, Korean, and French. Although some foreign SPARKS have been trying to get the girls to release the album, or at least some songs, in Chinese, Japanese, German, and Italian. The album can be purchased digitally or physically.❞

❝ UNDER THE INFLUENCE! is a 7-track mini album released by KEROSENE. This era is the first era that was released, AUGUST 19TH 2019, that officially had their fifth member on every track. Though the promotions didn’t include the fifth member the original four still promoted this era for three and a half months, with title track CHAMPAGNE TEARS. Rumors of the group going on tour surfaced again as the announcement of their fifth member joining the band roughly three months before this album was released. SPARKS speculated that the group was waiting for the confirmation of the new addition before starting the prep for the possible tour. ❞
