first of all, the World #1 Novak Djokovic has withdrawn from the tournament, making the fairly new #2 Jannik Sinner the top seed at a Masters 1000 for the first time.

In the first round, Félix Auger-Aliassime (who, keep in mind, took Nadal to five sets at Roland Garros) loses the first set to Nishioka. However, he comes back in the second and third sets to win the match 4-6 6-1 6-4. We'll be seeing a lot of him. In a Next Gen battle, young phenomenon João Fonseca loses the first set to the clay incompetent Alex Michelsen but proceeds to bagel him in the second set and then win the third with 4-6 6-0 6-2. Fabian Marozsan (of beating Alcaraz in Rome fame) saves eleven set points against Karatsev to win the first set and goes on to win the match 7-6 7-6. Moutet and Shang play an almost four hour match in which Moutet caused a massive delay by demanding the umpire give him coffee. And, most insane of all, teenager Darwin Blanch is drawn against Rafael Nadal for his second tour match ever. The scoreline is 6-1 6-0 (at least he got a game!)

Second round - here come the seeds. Jakub Menšík, yet another Next Gen wonder, upsets Dimitrov in three intense sets 6-2 6-7 6-3. Félix bagels known clay flop Mannarino. Fonseca loses quite brutally to Norrie. The ultimate clay hater himself, Daniil Medvedev, loses the first set to Matteo Arnaldi and looks absolutely done but comes back to win 2-6 6-4 6-4. Another known clay hater, Alexander Bublik, jokes his way through a win against Carballés Baena, who was so frustrated that he hit a serve directly at Bublik. Ben Shelton bagels Machac. Rafa manages to beat de Minaur, who he just lost to in Barcelona. Stefanos Tsitsipas, fresh off of two clay finals, is beaten by qualifier Monteiro 6-4 6-4.

In the third round, our top seed Jannik Sinner starts to show sign of discomfort, and his opponent Kotov is serving for the second set after Jannik won the first. Kotov has set point... and hits a questionable underarm serve that Jannik crushes down the line. Jannik goes on to break back and win the match 6-2 7-5. In the beginning of a long line of strange occurrences, Félix's opponent Menšik retires in the second set. Daniil loses the first set to Korda, yells at everyone, accuses the umpire of working for the Illuminati, but comes back to win the match 5-7 7-6 6-3. Bublik, the other resident clay hater, beats Ben Shelton 3-6 7-6 6-4, stetting up a match against who but Daniil. Holger Rune, who made two clay masters finals, loses to Griekspoor 6-4 4-6 6-3.

We start off the fourth round with another shaky Jannik match where he barely gets past Khachanov 5-7 6-3 6-3. At the exact same time - I kid you not, the exact same time - is a rematch of last year’s final. Carlos Alcaraz has match points over Struff at the very same minute as Jannik, but loses all three of them and extends the match another half hour or so, eventually winning it 6-3 6-7 7-6. Daniil comfortably wins the clay hater battle 7-6 6-4, and Bublik seems perfectly fine with it. In a strange occurrence of two varying levels of servebots on clay, Taylor Fritz beats Hurkacz 7-6 6-4 (including a very predictable tiebreak). Perhaps the strangest of all, Félix takes out Casper Ruud, the man who would marry clay if he could, 6-4 7-5.

And now to the quarterfinals. Think these matches have predictable outcomes? Wrong! Only Taylor manages to emerge as the favorite who wins, beating Cerundolo 6-1 3-6 6-3, an American servebot into clay masters semis. Meanwhile, Jannik withdraws entirely, giving Félix yet another walkover. In what may be the calmest match of his career, Andrey Rublev beats Carlos 4-6 6-3 6-2, ending his Madrid title streak. And, Daniil retires against Jiri Lehecka.

So, the semifinals no one expected. Andrey dispatches Fritz 6-4 6-3 after they traded breaks in the opening two games. And Félix receives yet another walkover when Lehecka retires a few games into the match. Yes, he received not one, not two, but three walkovers en route to the final.

In the end, though, Andrey wins it and claims a second masters title. So, that’s the end of the story, right? No, because in his interviews afterwards, Andrey reveals that he has been extremely sick for the entirety of the tournament and that he could barely sleep or eat. A bizarre yet fitting end to this strange tournament.

By now I'm sure everyone has seen the pics, or actually watched the opening ceremonies of the....33rd, Olympics. But I want to throw in a few extras that aren't being seen because of the blatantly obvious disrespect played out at the drag queen last supper, and it had a kid in the mix if any one missed it.

Hey, I lied. Shirabe Meshi chapter 37's first half dropped yesterday and I've been kinda busy but I think I can type this thing up a bit faster than expected, so let's see how this goes

On the morning of December 28, Chris wakes up to Hibiki repeatedly ringing her doorbell yelling her name. She opens the door.

"Hey idiot, it's early, you're botherin' the neighbors..."

"Let's go on a date!"

...So poor Chris is a confused, blushing mess now. Hibiki pushes her back into her apartment telling her to get dressed and meanwhile Chris is shouting back "Who even said I was goin'?!"

So karaoke is first

"Don't make me sing so suddenly!" while Synchrogazer is the chosen song

...So this is a reference to when people first heard Synchrogazer and some misheard the line "kimi ni utau yo" (I sing to you) as "kyuu ni utau yo" (I sing suddenly) and well...it fit how the characters start singing during fights so it stuck as a sort of joke in the Japanese fandom

They end up totally worn out after doing that for three hours so they leave to do other stuff like...Hibiki trying to win a stuffed rabbit from a crane machine

After all that, Hibiki just leaves, making Chris wonder if she even remembers what day it is.

Flashback to a previous day, the others are discussing their plan to surprise Chris. Hibiki, Tsubasa, and Miku are supposed to distract her while Shirabe and Kirika sneak into her apartment and get things ready.

Unfortunately Maria can't make it because she's got her hands full investigating an organization with ties to remnants of the Illuminati.

Back to the present, Tsubasa rides up on her motorcycle just as Chris decides to go home.

"Yukine, go out with me"

"Huh, ah, g-go...Go ou--?! Wh--..wha...?!"

So poor Chris is a confused, blushing me--okay fine, I already said that.

The very next panel we see Tsubasa and Chris training under a waterfall because Tsubasa claims she's become rusty lately. Tsubasa mentions holding her hand if she starts feeling weak and Chris...falls over into the water

Back at Chris' apartment, Kirika and Shirabe made it in and have started preparing. There are presents and decorations, Hibiki made pizza while Tsubasa made sushi (references to previous chapters), so now they have to bake the cake

Which they do because that's the recipe for this chapter and that's where I'm saving time--Not explaining the several pages of how to bake a cake

So back to Chris. She wakes up on Miku's lap confused about what happened.

Miku tells her how Tsubasa came back from training with her completely exhausted, but that she left to do a TV interview and Chris comments that she's cold-hearted

Of course, that wasn't true and Tsubasa and Hibiki are both hiding in the bushes nearby so Tsubasa heard what she said and gets offended and Hibiki has to tell her to keep hiding

...and yeah, first half ends around there.

I think i already Say this in my work of Angel Reader, but Lucifer enjoys reading with his S/o, he is sick most of the time, so when he has free time, he prefers doing simple but nice things with his Beloved. Besides reading(mainly mystery, personal hc), i would say he also likes take them out in littles walks.

B eauty - What do they admire about their s/o? What do they think is beautiful about them?

Lucifer greatly admires his s/o's mind, their qualities and what makes them unique, but that doesn't mean he doesn't admire them in appearance. He sees it more as a complement to the whole that is his s/o.

Although indifferent to everything, Lucifer finds his s/o very beautiful, internally and externally.

C omfort - How would they help their s/o when they feel down/have a panic attack etc.?

This is a hard one, Lucifer is HORRIBLE with emotions (he doesnt show emotions in the manga unless is for Manipulation) but when it comes to his S/o is a 180°twist. He would try to console them in a kind of awkward way, like, hug them but the man is STIFF. He's trying, okey?

In the case they feel down, he tries to give them words of affirmation and be more affectionate. Also, if Someone makes them feel Bad, know who was to "take care" of that person, y'know what i mean.

In the case of the Panic attacks, he is pretty concerned bc he doesnt know what the hell to do, he would call his doctors while staying with you and REFUSE to let you go of his embrace even after you get better.

D reams - How do they picture their future with their s/o?

After his plan success, he gets cure with a funcional, probably just pictures them along side with him, no matter the way. If his S/o wants kids, he is pleased to aplead. If not, also. It doesnt matter, as long as they are together.

E qual - Are they the dominant one in the relationship, or rather passive?

the dominant one without a doubt! He is used to being one already due to his position in the Illuminati's and he probably also likes to maintain that dynamic in the relationship.

It doesn't mean you don't have decision-making power! He wants you to be comfortable and happy after all, but he is the one who predominates the most in, for example, the act of giving.

F ight - Would they be easy to forgive their s/o? How are they fighting?

depends.

Lucifer VERY DIFFICULT accepts that he is wrong. But I think he would only recognize it if someone else pointed it out to him (eg Homura) and then he decided to apologize.

On the other hand, if you believe that your s/o is the one who is wrong, you will wait until they apologize, but it will not be mean per se, especially if you see that the fight left them sad.

Overall, 50/50.

G ratitude - How grateful are they in general? Are they aware of what their s/o is doing for them?

He's quite grateful, he didn't think having his s/o would make things so enjoyable or in general make him feel so good about himself. He even feels less sick when he is with them. So yes, he is very aware of what they do for him and he is grateful for it.

H onesty - Do they have secrets they hide from their s/o? Or do they share everything?

Yes and no.

I think he would only keep secrets from his s/o if, for example, they were human. Apart from the fact that it would be temporary, because they will find out sooner or later and he prefers that they find out from him and not from someone else.

but except for that case, I think not. because you would have to have the whole image of what it was like to be with Lucifer to BE with Lucifer.

I nspiration - Did their s/o change them somehow, or the other way around? Like trying out new things or helped them overcome personal problems?

Lucifer tries to cheer up his partner but not in the traditional way. If he encourages them to resolve certain personal problems from the past and try new things, he is there every step of the way.

But he is not willing to do the same with, for example, his family. and in a way it is understandable, so it remains halfway. but I would say that it is something that he already discussed with his S/o and that they are both fine with it.

J ealousy - Do they get jealous easily? How do they deal with it?

Lucifer can get jealous but he really doesn't see the reason why he should be like that, he knows that his s/o loves him, why would he doubt them? He basically dismisses it.

Now, if he were in an episode of strong jealousy, how much more jealous would he be than normal or more cuddly, but he would not be aggressive or angry with his s/o (in any case, the one on whom his fury would fall would be whoever made him jealous). .

K iss - Are they a good kisser? What was the first kiss like?

He is a decent kisser. He doesn't have enough experience to go beyond that, much of his experience was obtained with his current s/o.

quite direct, although at least he does it when he is 90% sure that it is reciprocated and it doesn't feel so abrupt.Apart from that he tries to expand as much as possible on how he feels about you. It was... strangely cute.

M arriage - Do they want to get married? How do they propose? What would the marriage be like?

Most likely to get married.

Although he proposes it to you seemingly out of nowhere, it is most likely that he has planned it for a while and has anticipated any reaction (we already know what he is like).

He would probably want an Illuminati wedding somewhere he considers beautiful.

Married life wouldn't be that different from now, it's just that maybe as your partner you're more involved in Illuminati things and spend more time together. You two become a power couple in short.

N icknames - What do they call their s/o?

One of his favorites is "Beloved" but i think he would also like to call you in a loving way "angel" or "Love".

Of course, if You don't like the nicknames, he can just call you your name.

Because of how expressionless he is, it's almost impossible to tell that he's in love. Of course, unless you are that person. There you can see it a little more obviously.

wants to spend more time together, or says nice things about your appearance out of the blue, compliments, etc. In his mind it is being very obvious and for someone who barely changes his facial expression, it is quite noticeable.

He can even smile in the presence of the person he is interested in romantically, you could say that it is, like, the definitive proof that he is in love.

P DA - Are they upfront about their relationship? Do they brag with their s/o in front of others? Or are they rather shy to kiss etc. when others are watching?

He is not shy per se, although he is not one to be very physically affectionate with his s/o in front of others, he can handle hugs, but will not initiate kisses or similar things.

Although if they talk about them, he can definitely brag about them a little, yes, with his stone face all the time, but talking A LOT about them with a lot of love. It generates some confusion but it's cute to see.

Q uirk - Some random ability they have that’s beneficial in a relationship.

How many people (or demons) have the fucking Illuminati on their side?

As something more typical, his poker face would say, it helps him when preparing surprises for his S/o.

R omance - How romantic are they? What would they do to make their s/o happy? Cliché or rather creative?

He is Cliche but more than because he wants to, it is because cliches are the best references he has 😅 as I said, much of his experience in relationships was with you, so he plays it safe with what he knows is appropriate in a relationship .

That is clear at first, when they are more advanced, they let go more and do things that are more their own (like the ones I mentioned above, doing activities together mainly).

He becomes more creative over time, learning from the experiences he has with his s/o and yes, he makes his s/o very happy.

S upport - Are they helping their s/o achieve their goals? Do they believe in them?

Yes and yes.

can and will provide resources so that your s/o can easily achieve their goals. But if they want to do it on their own without help, even if I'm watching closely to make sure they're doing it right, not because you don't have faith in them, but because you don't have faith in the world at large.

He is happy when his s/o reaches their goals and lets them know.

T hrill - Do they need to try out new things to spice out your relationship? Or do they prefer a certain routine?

I would say that mostly Routine, of course, from time to time a change is good, but Lucifer is a man with many responsibilities and routine is very good for that. so he prefers it.

U nderstanding - How good do they know their partner? Are they empathetic?

Lucifer? empathic? HA! usually not. but with its S/o we could say that it is the exception.

And yes, he knows his partner very well, even if at the beginning he knew them in a more basic way (with documentation and information about them), once you are in a relationship he can say things about them that denote that he DOES know them well (likes, dislikes, certain anecdotes, etc. you could tell him anything from years ago and he would still remember it).

V alue - How important is the relationship to them? What is it’s worth in comparison to other things in their life?

I would say that the relationship is almost as important as your plan, almost, but it's close (you still understand it because the plan has been around for much longer than you, it's hard to compete with that).

but in general, Lucifer is not above using many lives of the Illuminati's to save yours for example, or the rest of the world to be honest.

Do you think he's going to leave the little good in this world behind? do not make me laugh.

It is not uncommon to find Lucifer's S/O asleep in his bed/gurney even when they should not be there. coml I said, Lucifer insists on sleeping with them when he feels particularly ill. He doesn't care if he shouldn't because of the cables, he feels better with his s/o around.

X OXO - Are they very affectionate? Do they love to kiss and cuddle?

Although he doesn't say it openly, he is kind of touch-starved, so he quite likes hugs and snuggling with his s/o, especially if he is feeling particularly bad. It helps you not feel the pain as much.

If his S/o is also touch-starved, the affection only multiplies.

Although kisses are more for more intimate situations, he prefers to leave them for privacy, although I don't think it will stop his s/o if they decide to kiss him in public.

Y earning - How will they cope when they’re missing their partner?

He will focus more in his duties with the Illuminati's to distract himself.Maybe if he thinks that remembering his s/o will help him not miss them so much, he will take a walk. but in general he handles well when he misses them.

Bon had not been thinking beyond annoyance and mischief when he lifted Izumo and tossed her into the ocean. She had once again been running her mouth, and Bon had seen the opportunity, and he’d taken it.

Had he been thinking, he would have realized that Izumo was vindictive, and one of the smarter people in their group, and creative when she wanted to be. He likely still would have done it, but he’d have been on guard.

He got a chance to realize his mistake that evening after the fight when they were eating the kraken ikayaki (and Bon hardly paused to think about how strange his life was that he was eating kraken ikayaki and it was actually pretty good.) He was going for another skewer, listening to Rin lament how bland the actual squid was, and how much work his sauce was having to do, and how the kraken just tasted old and tough, and suddenly felt something thump on his head as Izumo waked past. It was a heavy thing for a moment, a solid thump, and then something was raining down over him and onto the second skewer and into his vest and shorts and legs and it was all through his hair, and it wasn’t until he gave an instinctual shake of his head that he realized as all the other guys and Shiemi gasped.

She had just dumped sand on his head. And not a little bit either. He didn’t know how her tiny hands had held so much of it, and now it was everywhere.

He shot to his feet with a roar as soon as he processed it, chasing after her, but she was already half way across the beach, heading for the crowd of exorcists to lose herself in. 

And just like that, it was started.

They didn’t actually get to the beach that often. It was rare enough, that Bon had more or less forgotten the events of their first trip. (Outside of the Kraken.)

Izumo had not forgotten them.

It was an actual vacation this time, a short thing for spring break, and Bon was staring at the ocean and sand suspiciously, just waiting for an Illuminati soldier or a malicious demon to pop up and ruin their short break.

He did not expect the attack to come from his own team, but he really should have.

He set his bag down by the towel and lowered down, tray of beach food in his hand, entirely ready to eat and nap in the sun for a bit before he joined the others in the water. He lowered down onto the towel—

And fell much further down than the towel should have been. His arms were pushed up and his legs were drawn to his chest, and the towel was trapped around him, and it took him a good five seconds to get past the sheer confusion to realize he’d fallen into a hole of some sorts. Someone had dug a hole under his towel, and it only took him a few seconds more to figure out the who as someone started to cackle loudly over the other mostly muffled laughter.

His eyes locked on Izumo where she was standing by the ocean with her arms crossed over her chest and her chin tipped up haughtily.

He growled out a threat and started shoving his way up and out of the hole – far harder than it should be to do – to get her. She was gone by the time he managed it, and the war was rekindled.

There was a spark and a loud sort of crackle, and then a deafening shriek of, “GORILLA!”

The screech could be heard across the beach, and it was followed by a booming laugh and the sight of Bon standing with his hands triumphantly on his hips as he watched Izumo try and escape the trap he’d set for her next to the drinks. Shiemi was stuck as well, and had to use Nee and a vine to fetch the drinks they’d been frozen from getting.

“KAMIKI!” Roared with a tremendous splash, and two harvest spirits were running to join Izumo again to escape Bon’s wrath, sending sand over all the other teens on the beach, their towels, and their own snacks.

“You’re dead!” And Varuna dousing Izumo as Bon glared with his still ocean soaked body, and getting everyone soaked with her.

“You Neanderthal!” Izumo cackling and retaliating with a basin of holy sake when Bon was sunning next to Konekomaru and Yukio, and the strangely sticky holy liquid getting in everything and making it impossible to see with glasses.

“I’ll kill you!” And Bon running from where his summoned shield over Izumo had caused her and Shura’s tanlines to get cover with sigils.

Ruined drinks and sandy food and soaked clothes and capsized rafts and popped inner tubes, and no end in sight as their day off rushed by in a chaotic war.

“I’ve had it,” Yukio growled, glaring at the shore line. Rin hissed his agreement as he picked more sand out of his irritated tail.

“It’s gone too far.”

“I still can’t get my glasses clean.”

“We were supposed to relax today.”

“I don’t even know who started it—“

“I don’t care who started it.”

Rin nodded his agreement as Bon threw a handful of sand at Izumo and dodged the sake she tried to throw at him, and the squid they’d been carrying over was dropped to the ground.

That was it. Rin hadn’t managed to get any sand or magic free squid today, and watching more get dropped to the ground, and nope. He wasn’t taking any more.

“I’ll be right back,” he promised, and hopped up with a shake of his tail that flung sand on all of them. (They hardly noticed at this point.)

He jogged forward with a call of their names, waving and smiling and trying to look happy, only his lashing and slightly ignited tail giving away his irritation.

(Yukio grinned and Shura rubbed her hands together in anticipation.)

"Hey!" Rin called cheerfully, getting their attentions. They both crossed their arms over their chests with scowls and a "What?!" that they called in unison.

Rin gave them no warning before hefting them both up and tossing them over his shoulders before running into the ocean and tossing them both in. He then dusted his hands off, shook more sand out of his tail, and turned to jog back to the others as the battling duo surfaced and hurled outrage and insults at his uncaring back.

(He had no idea he'd just started the cycle over and given them a joint target.)

The city lights were dimmed by a heavy fog. There weren't many street lights here anyway, in the empty parking lot. The palm trees cast long, ominous shadows, even though Anthony couldn't see their leaves. He passed a garbage bin that hadn't been emptied in a while. 

"If you say so."

2. The eye of the storm (Noah/Shayne, rated T)

"Look Noah! It's snowing!" Shayne exclaimed while looking out of the window. A little cloud appeared on the glass where he'd yelled.

Noah made some hot coco for them both, all thoughts about the illuminati long forgotten.

3. That's so us (Ian/ Amanda, rated T)

Listen, I am going to carry you over the doorstep.

4. Eye contact (Ian/ Anthony, rated T)

The crinkles around Anthony's eyes when he smiles and laughs. His proud little smirk when he talks about what they have accomplished together.

Damien looked at Anthony with a new found love. When he wasn't acting, and was totally himself, he was such a sweet soul. Ugh. Hot AND kind. But Damien didn't feel self-conscious anymore. "That hottie over there? Mine!" Damien smiled.

9. Three's a party (Ian/ Anthony/ OG, rated M)

Anthony kept close to Ian. But the thumping bass and beats in his ears made it hard to concentrate. The people in their group were talking but he could barely make out what they were saying. He looked around. Flashing party lights, people dancing, chatting, drinking. 

“Same time, next month? <3”
