Welcome back y'all, i bring you the Sky Island Saga, otherwise known as the Skypiea Saga today!

This post includes the Goat Island, Ruluka Island/Rainbow Mist, Jaya, Skypiea, & G-8 Arcs!

Also Vivi appears in the background during the last episode of the Rainbow Mist arc, and this is the last time we'll be seeing her until Post-Enies Lobby.

Also, I'd like to note that in the manga, Robin's outfit upon leaving Skypiea is actually the outfit worn in the Long Ring Long Land Arc, as the G-8 Arc is anime only and in the manga, Skypiea goes straight to Long Ring Long Land. This outfit will appear in the next post!

hi yeah g-8 is actually the funniest anime filler of all time because this genius marine vice admiral is playing 4d transdimensional chess and thinks that the strawhats are too but luffy is actually just playing candyland while utterly oblivious about how this dude is literally doing mental gymnastics trying to figure out what his angle is. comedy fucking GOLD

I know Navarone is filler but by god is Luffy's switch between "I'll leave when I want, you gonna eat that" to "where is he" when Jonathan's telling him they have Zoro some good fudging food.

I love the G-8 filler arc because for one thing, it’s such a Straw Hat thing to happen. They get blown off course coming down from Skypeia and end up landing right in the middle of a marine base, what other crew would this happen to But also it’s because they manage to avoid an ambush by following Zoro, who of course got lost in a way only he could, ending up somewhere other than the only place the exit lead

-all of the G-8 filler arc (especially everyone's stupid disguises)

-the feudal japan episodes where luffy is a policeman, zoro is a monk, and there are so many bizarre character throwbacks it's insane

-zoro who literally just cannot say no sometimes saddled with an embarrassing crop top and three infants while correcting someone claiming to be his mother that "it's not Broccoli Head, it's Moss Head!"

and these are just like the latest handful from my rewatch tbh they're all so good

Best One Piece Filler Arc (Round 1)

Davy Back Fight filler episodes (ep 213-216): Four episodes that made the Davy Back Fight with Foxy's crew longer by adding three games. The titles are: Round 3! Round and Round Roller Race! / Burning Roller Race! Dash into the Final Round! / The Screaming Speed Serve! Pirate Dodgeball! / Final Match on the Edge! Dharma has Fallen!

G-8 Arc (ep 196-206): The Marines are convinced the Going Merry is a ghost ship after it crashes inside their fortress from above. The crew members are scattered around the premises. In disguise, Sanji shows the Marine chefs the proper way to prepare a meal, and Zoro is taken prisoner as Chopper and Nami assist a nervous doctor in treating injured Marines. Meanwhile, Robin and Usopp both disguise themselves as the same visiting inspector, and Usopp is thrown in the brig with Zoro.

My 100% real deal I made with Oda is if Long Ring Long Land is canon then G8 has to be canon. It’s a compromise.
