As soon as Sam was out of earshot, Ben motioned Hwa closer, “I’m so glad you two got married. How did Jacob take it?”

“Fine, actually. Jacob and I talk a decent amount lately, mostly about Cora. But I think it helps Sam having an intermediary when dealing with his father.”

“Good. Well, now that he’s out of the way, I’ve got something to show you,” Ben said and handed her a folder with a grin. “Found these when I was cleaning out the attic last weekend. My kids babysat Sam when he was young, and they got to be close. Even when he was a teen, he’d come over sometimes, just to get away from his dad.”

Hwa opened the folder and found several printouts of pictures of a sullen looking teen boy with black hair, heavy black eyeliner, and multiple piercings. She looked at them closely while Ben continued talking, “Now, Jacob is my oldest and closest friend. But, even I know what a pain he can be, and those two were always at loggerheads. So, I let Sam come over to our house just to get away for a while.”

This would be a joint proposal, so everyone would have to be present all at once.

Killer absolutely bursts into affected sobbing and immediately accepts. He plays the dramatic part of a blushing bride until someone knocks him out of it physically because he's being obnoxious. Dust is surprised they want to actually take it so far, and struggles to wrap his head around that one for a bit. He absolutely does accept, though, and he's very, very happy. Axe actually cries and accepts, because he's so happy that they want to marry him and everyone else. There's a lot of nuzzles and sweet murmurs while he has the chance to hold them. Cross goes absolutely violet, but stammers out an acceptance. It takes him a few minutes to process that one, too, but once he does, he decides that... he will do his own proposal somewhere in private because he feels that it's the right and proper thing to do. Baggs fumbles completely. It takes him a good minute to actually process that one, and when he does, he's the one who shuts Killer up. He does make some crack about being 'brother husbands' as opposed to 'sister wives' and accepts with as much grace as he can. He's nervous, but also very emotional at the prospect. He can hardly believe it. Nightmare accepts almost immediately, but, like Cross, insists upon doing it properly somewhere else. He's also the one who insists upon separate ceremonies for everyone, so they all have their own moment to shine... And also so that they can be differently themed and wear different outfits because Drama and Theatrics.

Your Rise of the Guardians post reminded me of this fucking crazy dream I had-

I should be documenting all my dreams as soon as I remember and they happen because my brain makes either the hardest shit or the dumbest shit or the most unhinged shit ever to be conceived from the human mind.

So, I was basically a new Guardian and the Keeper of Hallow's Eve. Pitch Black was also a Guardian and this felt like an AU where Pitch Black never went evil but was turning into his canon self and I protected him because he didn't do anything wrong and Jack was with me because he was new as well and the other Guardians didn't trust Pitch almost as if they knew about his canon lore and history and were sidelining him on missions and stuff.

Pitch Black snaps and I go after him and he ends up kind of killing me???? but not really and this part is fuzzy because I should've documented it as soon as I had it but forgot because my dumb neurodivergent brain.

The ending was basically Pitch Black leaves and solos his own stuff but he's still a good guy who made mistakes and I was there but not important since everyone kept talking over me and acting like I don't exist when it's convenient.

Weird dream.

Funnier is that I have an actual Rise of the Guardians book-

that sounds like a cool as dream actually, glad my jack frost design hate post brought back that memory for you because god I fucking hate his design in the movie so much

i got told that there was a book, but I had no idea it was a whole damn series. Maybe that's something I should give a read soon

thinking about gender makes me feel and act insane bc i just cannot wrap my head around it still. obviously we adopt cultural norms naturally as we interact with society and growing up in a culture means you can't develop your own distinct and unbiased behaviors. but the prevalence of gender norms that serve no purpose just don't make sense to me, like, why are we doing this? what's the reason for this guys? it makes me feel nuts that other people aren't particularly bothered by it. maybe we can never sever ourselves completely from white supremacist colonial gender constructions but if things continue linearly forever maybe we can change our ideas about large scale cultural gender norms? please?
