i'm reading "ace: what asexuality reveals about desire, society, and the meaning of sex" by angela chen and although it's really nothing i didn't already know, it's making me feel. some kind of way. validated, i suppose? i guess like. i know, intellectually, that it's fine to experience little to no sexual or romantic attraction, and i have no issue accepting that in others and believing their self identification immediately, but i haven't really internalized that. it's fine for Me. to not want those things either, at all. i always have to couch it in some caveat about liking things in certain contexts, or being indifferent about this or that act, or liking smthn in theory vs reality, but i can't ever bring myself to just say "no i don't want to do that, i have no desire for it, i wouldn't be disappointed if i never did it again." when i'm in any kind of committed relationship, i always start passively wishing it'll just peter out into lukewarm friendship on its own and the other person will end it, to our mutual relief—or the overwhelming anxiety i get when someone tries to define our relationship as anything but friends. which is awful and unfair to the other person, i know, but i didn't really recognize it as an aroace thing until reading this book. i've always had a hard time with my "for thee and not for me" mindset, but i haven't been able to look it in the eyes as actively dysfunctional and amatonormative until now and it's kinda making me want to throw up and die

Welp.... I bricked my laptop -___- luckily I got everything backed up on a portable hard drive before I sent it off for repair.... and then found out the repair is going to be TWICE WHAT I FKING PAID FOR IT???? The rep literally said "this is outragous. I'm sorry. Just get a new computer lol)

So yeah, I'm getting another new laptop, and learned the hard way that a little liquid spill really IS a huge problem. All I'm hoping for is that my sims data transfers over properly.
