Having a pots moment and when I laid down this little lad came to check on me, gave me some kisses, and ignored his sister wanting to play and laid down on my leg instead.
This is not a trained behaviour, though he may have picked it up from watching Lance

have you guys heard of enclosed mobility scooters??? they’re basically like mini cars, and they’re safe for sidewalks and bike lanes, and as someone who’s Doctors have basically said “we don’t want you to drive” they seem like they could solve a huge independence issue.
#the ones i was looking at even have a backseat that would fit a small service dog!#future “car” for sure#thoughts

- What's with the hat? - I don't know. Found it in the science lab. Thought it would help.
Day 11 - The Hunter Knows the killer’s weakness and the best way to beat them. The Final Girl typically teams up with them to finally nail the killer. Usually, they’re considered the other final character to survive.
from @windbrook's Slashed Challenge.
#okay so i don't know if i like this line but it was meant to kind of explain his “armor”#since he's been putting it together since the incident started#but i'm not sure if i like the line or the hat anymore so... oops#(also it was meant to be in a conversation with the final girl#they don't meant until closer to the end of the plot#aka after most of the rest of the cast has already died and she's left mostly alone#but they team up to make it through the end#which also involves probably teaming up with the detective who's been free roaming and occasionally causing problems)#anyway i love keaton he's chill#i didn't ever decide what his major was or why he was in the building but he was probably working on a project or something#and when the incident started all of his survival training from his outdoorsy survival enthusiast parents taught him kicked in#so he found a weird hat in the science lab and “armor” in the art studios#also he has a service dog because I wanted a dog and I think this vest swatch looks a lot like the vests used by service dogs#(although it's not really prefect and in the future I'll try and find one that's cc and more accurate)#sorry that was long but I really like him he's cool#keaton kendrick#scout the dog#day 11#the hunter#windbrookslashed#sims 4#ts4#sims 4 screenshots#ts4 screenshots#tw injury#tw death mention#tw illness#tw illness mention

Haven't posted in a bit cause mostly we have just been doing stuff like sit, down and stand because my mental health has not been letting me do any training more then that but today I had the energy so we did some heeling next to my crutch he did good he's not wary of my crutches anymore. Something that we just got done with is retrieval training and he did really good I was playing with him with a toy and I dropped it so he grabbed it and gave it to me. So I got some treats and kept dropping it for him to grab and hand to me he surprised me. Towards the end of the session i grabbed a empty water bottle which is the item I've been using in his retrieval training and for the first few drops he would not pick it up but after a bit he finally did so I jackpot him and ended the session. Tomorrow I'm going to do more and maybe try some different objects but I think I should stick to empty water bottle and tug for a few days then add a new object

Took Forte to train outside the Ren Faire today.
He was a little overwhelmed coming right out of the car. Even though we got there a half hour before it opens there were still a ton of people in the lot and half of them were changing into costumes. So I alternated between letting him just take it and rewarding for check ins and simple obedience (I use sit, down, sit, spin, treat a lot) to gauge his readiness to work.
We stayed in the parking lot for about 10 minutes before he was ready. He kept pace with me nicely on the walk from the lot to the actual fair grounds. I was pleased with him ignoring the crowds around us given that we had to pass really close to others at times.
We saw some really cool costumes including a person with a big mushroom hat, someone carrying a prop sword that was bigger than me, and a stroller decked out in bells to look like a fairy wagon.
He alerted to a hr spike and did DPT across the street from the entrance. There was a huge crowd waiting at the entrance and there was a lively opening speech complete with loud cheering. And while he was interested/clearly watching he didn't stop tasking.
At one point a pair of character actors dressed as royal guards, each holding a spear, saw on the ground and approached. They stopped a respectful distance away and asked if I was okay. I thanked them and told them my service dog had it covered.
When I was ready we wandered around the area, went over a wooden bridge that squeaked, and did more simple obedience. Then we went back down the path to the car for a water break. It was more crowded now and we were going against the flow of foot traffic, but he still kept in a loose heel and paid no mind to the people.
After getting water we went back up towards the entrance. I stopped by the trail end and put him in a relaxed down so he could practice being settled near heavy foot traffic. He checked in consistently and was paid for it.
As I was debating going all the way to the entrance or calling it a day, he did get startled. Two people, each pushing a stroller, came down the hill towards us while squealing at the top of their lungs. I don't think they even noticed Forte until he popped up and barked once. They were most likely trying to entertain the kids in said stroller.
He recovered quickly and laid back down on his own but I took that as a sign he about done with the outing. We'd already been out for an hour and a half and it was starting to get too hot out. So we went back to the car. I had another internal debate about putting his cooling vest on and heading back up or just leaving. Part of me didn't want to end on our only bad note and wanted to go back for some pictures.
But ultimately I decided against it. He'd stayed at a calm pace on the walk back and didn't balk at any of the other strollers we passed. So I'm counting it as ending on a good note actually.
Picture of the good boy who is now tired.

we had our second training session with our trainer the other day.
she doesn't think mischa will be able to do PA. which... now, yeah, he can't - he's too nervous and hasn't been trained to anywhere near that level. but i think, with time and training and building up his confidence, we will at least have a shot...
she also said that we need / should get xrays from the vet before we do mobility work. which is true but also... so expensive... and we don't have an osteo specialist vet here, only one that is knowledgeable but not a specialist.
i've also been re-evaluating what i need from mischa, and i think i don't need him to do bracing, only counterbalance. counterbalance is still a mobility task, so we'd still need him to be carefully trained and evaluated by a vet, but maybe we could get away with not doing xrays...?
i dunno, i want to focus on psych tasks first anyway since that's my biggest need.
the trainer also said that she very much doubts if mischa can come with me on my surgery trip, which i'm obviously disappointed about but... not really surprised. maybe i could bring him with me as a pet...
as for actual training, misch has a solid Touch / Target now, so we'll start transferring it to targets other than my hand. we haven't started training Paws Up yet (i... forgot lol). in the training session we just had, we started practicing standing in position for bracing / counterbalance.
anyway, i plan to do donna hill's service dog training institute programs and once we get up to the PA ones, i'll have another session with our trainer and get her opinion on if he can start PA training or not.
the trainer said to start PA at dog parks, then dog friendly public places, and then non-dog friendly public places, but a friend (who has an AD) suggested doing it the opposite, since in non-dog places theres obviously no other dogs or interesting doggy smells to get distracted by. and the few times we've done PA training he's done very well considering his lack of PA/AD training in general...
i think, with time and dedication and training (and a good deal of stubbornness, which he and i both have...!), we'll get there. i'm not in a rush!
(the trainer also asked if i could consider getting another dog for AD training... not a good sign. but i would love to, i just can't at the moment. not for another year at least. i did contact a collie breeder just to get some info and see if they had any experience with ADs. but thats for the future...)
