Mini-event poll series: Fictional Survivor Series (part 7: Finale)
(In the ABW canon, this would be the same pay-per-view event that Ruby Rose of RWBY beat Asami Sato of Legend of Korra for the Ultimate Women’s Championship)
In the main event of Fictional Survivor Series, we have a 5-v-5 Tag Team match. The teams are:
1) Team Animated Show (Mineta of MHA / Bob Belcher of Bob’s Burgers / Hank Hill of King of the Hill / Shikamaru of Naruto / Adrien Agreste aka Cat Noir of Miraculous Ladybug)
2) Team Live-Action Show (Phil Coulson of Agents of SHIELD / Nacho of Better Call Saul / Archie Andrews of Riverdale / Harry Kim of Star Trek Voyager / Marcus Brooks of The Bear)
This event will go until one team is entirely eliminated.
FINAL RESULTS
1) Minoru Mineta of MHA tapped out after Phil Coulson put him in the “Agent of YIELD” submission hold (Sharpshooter)
2) Archie Andrews of Riverdale was pinned by Adrien Agreste in a surprise roll-up
3) Adrien Agreste of Miraculous Ladybug was pinned by Nacho Varga after he landed a frog splash on him
4) Phil Coulson of Agents of SHIELD tapped out after Shikamaru Nara put him in a sharpshooter (copying Coulson’s Agents of YIELD signature submission hold)
5) Bob Belcher of Bob’s Burgers was pinned by Marcus Brooks after he landed his finisher, the LHC (Let Him Cook aka CM Punk’s GTS)
6) Hank Hill of King of the Hill was disqualified after he hit Marcus Brooks with a propane tank
7) Harry Kim of Star Trek Voyager was pinned by Shikamaru Nara after Harry missed his Starfleet Splash (450 Splash) and landed on his back
8) Shikamaru Nara of Naruto was pinned by Marcus Brooks after he was hit by a combo attack of a superkick by Nacho (not seen by the referee) and a LHC by Marcus
SURVIVORS: Nacho Varga of Better Call Saul / Marcus Brooks of The Bear
OVERALL RESULT: Team Live-Action Show defeats Team Animated Show

this PAC is intended for when you want to eat but don't know what you should make or order. you probably shouldn't use this daily, but if you want to: be my guest!
take your time to use your intuition to choose the pile that will best resonate with you. lastly, please don’t be afraid to say if the message resonated or not. it helps me in determining if my interpretations are correct or not, and i appreciate any sort of feedback - even if it’s “bad”.

This really is a long shot but if you see this ask I hope you and etd are well and that perhaps you have a recommendation for what to see in and around Edinburgh? I’m here for a week with my partner, my best friend and her fiancé and we’d love to see places aside from those every tourist runs to😅
I’m afraid you’re asking the wrong Scot because I was only ever a tourist in Edinburgh 😅
Places I enjoy going in Edinburgh:
The castle
The Real Mary King’s Close
Camera Obscura & World of Illusions (not all that great if you’re prone to migraines or seizures, but it can kill a fun hour or so if you get caught in the rain.)
You can do ghost tours of the underground vaults. I think some also do them around the cemeteries at nights if you’re into that sort of thing.
Honestly the red bus tours are a great way if getting around some fun sites and also avoiding the rain.
If you like Indian fusion food, The Prahna Indian Grill is pretty good.
The Edinburgh Museum on the Royal Mile was always a good shout from what I remember. So was the Writer’s Museum.
The Stand comedy club is always worth checking out if you can. I watched many an improv act in there while eating nachos and drinking cider.
Favorite place hands down is the Botanical Gardens. I love me some botanic gardens.
I’m no doubt missing something spectacular, but those were always my favorite things to do in the city. That and just wandering around.

I have a few thoughts per 1099
1) why specifically make this a complaint about SNW a lot of the shows don't bother doing this.
2) I eat a meal from the 1890s all the time people would totally be eating the same foods 100 - 200 years in the future.
3) Why would ingredients humans have been using for thousands of years suddenly stop being used 200 years from now? Italians have been using tomatoes in their dishes for at least 500 years what's 700 in comparison?
Certainly alien or even fusion dishes might be something people eat on occasion but even with current foods I don't eat wanton nachos on the regular nor would I want to. Our foods that grow on our planet (locally to us) will always be most beneficial to our bodies as those are the foods our bodies are accustomed to and in some instances specifically evolved to handle. Same for other aliens which is why Pike cooks Vulcan foods for the Vulcans.
Also, you do you, but I wouldn't want to eat space ration color cubes when dad's making spaghetti.

Before The Beginning for the ask meme
[no excuses WIP meme: ask me about my WIPs]
BEFORE THE BEGINNING — three sentences (or more) about something that happened before the plot of my current project
This is before the events of fragments of a great collide:
Natasha had plugged "the best Tex-Mex Chinese fusion place in Houston" for the past ten years to the point that Mr. Chow himself gave her a sombrero with a dragon on it for her birthday for being a loyal customer. She was the only person who had ever been bestowed the privilege of getting endless nachos whenever she walked in because the owners had decided long ago that Nat was single-handedly responsible for introducing half the people at Johnson Space Station to their fine dining establishment. So when Jake asked for their help when he popped the question, the folks at Señor Chow's were more than happy to whip up a special dessert for the occasion. "I should've called an audible when I saw that idiot Kenny Chow was working our section that day," Jake sighed every time they told the story later. "He had them put the ring in the chocolate flan," Natasha explained, which always got a few awws and that's so cute from the dinner party. "It would have been cute," Jake grumbled on cue, "if Kenny hadn't accidentally switched the plates coming out of the kitchen." "I inhaled that chocolate flan. If Mrs. Chow didn't run out when she did, Jake would've tried to Heimlich Nana Seresin's wedding ring out of me."

Thanks to Bwahstrella's... questionable policies about her clients' privacy here's her quotes:
Not quite spoilers, but if you want to catch them yourself, don't go ahead. No spoilers about the DLC, just lil' trivia about the characters. "Augie was supposed to build a new temple, but he blew the funds on booking DJ Cheep Tuna for his birthday."
"I foresee Augie will be put on a "performance improvement plan" for using the lighthouse to cook a rotisserie chicken."

"I sponsored Telesio in a book-a-thon fundraiser. He read every book in the Winter Palace - TWICE! Cost me a fortune."
"Each postcard of Dr. Vent is stranger than the last. That Rabbid is in dire need of a vacation."
"The balls they throw at the Winter palace are like knitting circles compared to the ones they had there back in my days."
"Woodrow is to recieve terrible dating advice until he rescinds the 5% fortune telling tax on Palette Prime!"
"Woodrow's ex-girlfriend couldn't even read a greeting card inscription without breaking into hives, poor thing."
"The Fates are many, and their voices discordant, but on this ONE thing they agree - they HATE Woodrow's poetry."
"When Woodrow needed money he wrote crude limericks under the name "Bell Chur". Oddly they brought only good luck."
"If Woodrow calls, tell him I am in a seance - DO NOT take a message, especially if it rhymes."
"Yes, it is bad if Woodrow's next poem destroys the galaxy, BUT if we don't have to hear it - mixed blessing."
"Lots of Rabbids from Palette Prime are calling for advice. Woodrow must be working on a new poem. SHUDDER."

"Tell my publicist to invite Galaxy Confidential to my Doomy Awards dinner party, then seat the Phantom near Bea."
"You didn't need to be psychic to predict the Phantom dumping Bea for one of her backup dancers, but would she listen?"
"Tell Alkementor I need a case of red banana-kumquat-star apple mineral fusion water for my Doomy Awards afterparty."
"I see Sullivan going dateless at the Engineer's Ball if he does not stop blowing me off for his stupid train."
"If Sullivan calls, tell him I'm having lunch with a handsome salesman who prefers electric trains over steam engines."
"Sullivan sent roses to apologize for calling me "vile rabble" after I said his steam train was a "ridiculous fossil"."
"Everywhere I go at the Everbloom I am asked. "Do you foresee more overtime in my future?" Hard to relax."
"I foresee Momma being thougher than leather and harder than steel, with an itch for action and living like there no tomorrow!"
"I wouldn't want to be a certain Spark Hunter when Momma catches up to them with an itch that only revenge can scratch!"
"Tell our Barrendale Mesa location they are absolutely NOT to close during "Big Momma's Bike Rally and Chili Cookoff."
"I foresee Gerspard moving into his Neo-Figurative Hyper-Expressionist Retro-Futuristic Tabloid phase to rave reviews."

The Power of Adaptability, and an Innovation for the Future
ADVERTISEMENT #1: Taco Bell's Fry Force Commercial
youtube
The first advertisement that I chose was from the famous fast-food chain Taco Bell. Taco Bell is a fast-food chain based in the United States that focuses on the fusion of Texan and Mexican cuisine. Taco Bell’s advertising techniques are what sets it apart from other fast-food companies, as they are known for ads that implement experimental and humorous subjects. Back in 2021, one of the most eye-catching advertisements by Taco Bell was their “Fry Force” commercial which aims to advertise their new product: the “Nacho Fries.” The ad shows the story of the mecha pilot Rei and her sibling, Kosuke, who was taken as they fought monsters attracted to Taco Bell’s most coveted Nacho Fries. This advertisement clearly aims to entice anime fans as it seems to have gotten heavy inspiration from Japanese media. This includes anime series such as Neon Genesis Evangelion and Gundam and Japanese-inspired movies such as Godzilla and Pacific Rim.
That being said, were the Nacho Fries that were being advertised healthy for consumers? Not necessarily, as fast-food products tend to have high sodium levels. However, as long as you consume fast-food products in moderation, you should be fine. While the ad was unrealistic, as 60-foot monsters and squads of robot-operating pilots do not exist in real life, it still did a great job of piquing the interests of many viewers, especially on various social media sites. Since it was presented in the style of Japanese animation, which started to become more and more popular worldwide during this time, the advertisement felt fresh and unique. All in all, the Taco Bell “Fry Force” advertisement did well as it resonates with their target audience, uses cultural trends, and because the company has the ability to adapt to the preferences of their consumers in creating promotional materials.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ADVERTISEMENT #2: The Dissolving Bottle
youtube
The second advertisement I chose was by a local Filipino brand, The Dissolving Bottle. The Dissolving Bottle aimed to reinvent the traditional shampoo bottle as it was usually made of plastic which was unsustainable and harmful to the environment. To combat this, The Dissolving Bottle designed a shampoo bar which was shaped like a shampoo bottle. This shampoo bar is soluble in water which made it more sustainable and intuitive. The commercial was shot way back in 2021. It was a very engaging advertisement as it was filmed in a stop-motion style which showed the creativity, passion, and innovation that the brand wanted to represent. The Dissolving Bottle's advertisements' target audience was undoubtedly the general public, as it was seemingly directed towards viewers and consumers of all ages. Meanwhile, The Dissolving Bottle’s product is definitely beneficial for their target audience and consumers as this product will help in reducing the waste in the oceans, which pollutes the earth. By substituting unsustainable plastic shampoo bottles with soap bars that fully dissolve in water, consumers can get the same shampoo experience while keeping our world’s environment cleaner and safer. The ad captured its viewers' attention due to its very bright and cheerful presentation. The message that it wanted to give voice to was also a large part of its popularity as it talked about how there are more straightforward ways to use shampoo while reducing the amount of waste around the world. Additionally, it also helped that this advertisement won awards from multiple competitions, including the Consumer Wood Pencil at D&AD 2022, which meant that it was "The best of the year in advertising, design, craft, culture, and impact." It is truly unique and amazing because a product like this that strives to change the world gets a proper and well-deserved advertisement.

These Blackened Tuna Nachos with Watermelon Pico de Gallo are a delicious fusion of flavors. The blackened tuna adds a spicy kick, while the refreshing watermelon pico de gallo provides a sweet and tangy contrast. Perfect for a light and flavorful appetizer or snack.
Ingredients: 1 lb fresh tuna steaks. 2 tbsp blackening seasoning. 1 tbsp olive oil. 1 bag of tortilla chips. 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese. 1 cup diced watermelon. 1/2 cup diced red onion. 1/2 cup diced cucumber. 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro. 1 jalapeo pepper, seeded and finely diced. Juice of 1 lime. Salt and pepper to taste. Sour cream for garnish. Lime wedges for garnish.
Instructions: Preheat a grill or skillet over high heat. Rub both sides of the tuna steaks with the blackening seasoning. Drizzle olive oil over the tuna steaks and rub it in. Place the tuna steaks on the grill or skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes per side for medium-rare, or to your desired level of doneness. Remove from heat and let rest for a few minutes before slicing into thin strips. In a medium bowl, combine the diced watermelon, red onion, cucumber, cilantro, and jalapeo pepper. Squeeze lime juice over the mixture and toss gently. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Arrange the tortilla chips on a serving platter or individual plates. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the tortilla chips. Top the chips and cheese with the sliced blackened tuna. Spoon the watermelon pico de gallo over the tuna and chips.
