“Where’s Bokuto? Wasn’t he coming today, too?”

Kuroo frowns as he slips out of his street shoes and into the gym. “What do you mean?” He glances back to the doorway, “He’s right behind m—”

But his best friend is nowhere to be see. Kuroo blinks. He shuffles back to the door, leaning his tall frame into the yard. “Bokuto! Bo, where are you?”

“I can guess.” Kenma snorts, and Kuroo sighs. Oh, right. He should’ve realized this would happen.

They had planned to arrive yesterday, but a last-minute practice match with their university team had delayed things. Still, two days visiting the training camp to see their former teammates was better than none. 

“Okay then. Guess we’ll just… wait for them before starting?”

“It might be a while.” Tsukishima saunters over. He has a pained expression on his face.“I just spotted him and Akaashi sneaking into the tool shed.”

“What would Akaashi-san and Bokuto-san need to go in there?” Kageyama asks, nursing a bottle of Pocari Sweat as he crouches on the floor near Kenma.

Kuroo tries not to laugh at the boy’s obliviousness. “Well, son,” he says, ignoring Kenma’s scoff, “When two people who REALLY like each other haven’t seen each other in a month…”

“I really don’t need to hear this,” Tsukishima snaps, pointedly turning on his heel and heading to help Ennoshita with the nets.

“Idiot Kageyama!” Hinata pipes up from his spot on Kenma’s left. “They’re obviously making out!”

Everyone laughs as Kageyama’s eyes widen and he sputters on his drink.

They eventually start to practice. Kuroo’s eager to share what he’s learned in his first semester at college level, and to see how everyone on his team has improved.

He watches as Kenma easily converses with his teammates and friends, comfortable and calm. He’s just so proud of him. Of Nekoma as whole. He loves his new team, but nothing will replace this group of people.

Finally, forty minutes later, a very disheveled, satisfied looking Bokuto stumbles into the gym. “Hey hey hey! I’m here! Let’s go!” 

A red-faced Akaashi is right on his heels, trying to subtly smooth out the wrinkles in his shirt. He nods once at Kuroo before heading off to his own team.

Kuroo sighs again, shaking his head. But he’s smiling. His friends are ridiculous. Adorable, but absolutely ridiculous.

He loves them all so much.

and can i just say how much hinata has improved? he grew so much, and i feel so proud (my brain decides to remind me that they are all fictional) but anyways, he used to be a small scrawny boy who dreams of volleyball all day and night, and now, he is a national level player, with all his skillsets polished. this character growth >>>>

and finally to this man who believed they could, who relentlessly begged for coach ukai to come coach them because he knew their potential, for stepping into the discomfort of a new territory. there is no one prouder of the boys than him

since he's the national setter of the argentenian team, its natural that both of you will have beach dates in such a warm climate. oikawa canonly has a flirty personality, so it would feel a little hard to keep him around. but when he loves, this man LOVES YOU til death. i also do see him being extremely clingy at times, and he wants you to be proud of him so you'll obviously get an invite to his games. if he loses a game, he'll want nothing but to be in your arms and just rest there. but if he wins, you'll be picked up and spun around. our guy loves milk bread, but since he's not in japan he can't get the real thing so you and him would try to bake it at home. added the plush picture, because it isn't oikawa without the plushy lore. after all, it is tooru oikawa we're talking about.

Hi! AHHHHHHH I HAVE SO MANY HAIKYUU ASKS SITTING IN MY INBOX, I just- I get very emo while thinking about Haikyuu, so sorry to everyone who has asked me about Haikyuu till now...

Okay, not gonna lie but I LOVE EVERYONE SINGLE HAIKYUU CHARACTER, CAN I NOT SAY EVERYONE IS MY FAVORITE????😭😭😭 but if I had to choose top 5 with a gun to my head because that's the only scenario where I would think of choosing:

(1) Hinata Shouyo (is anyone even surprised anymore): Baby boy, sunshine incarnate, my most handworking baby, I need to meet him and tell him personally how proud I am of him.

(2) Tsukishima Kei: his character development and his growth is the greatest thing to witness and he genuinely so sarcastic and mean I love it.

(3) Kita-san: You ever encounter a character that changes the way you view the world, because that's what Kita Shinsuke did to mine. The words he says just, it just hits hard and it hits home.

(4) Oikawa Tooru: See I am not immune to incredibly annoying but endearing characters. And he nails that category with flying colors.

(5) Kenma Kozume: Oh he is someone I did not think I would like, let alone be on top 5 but Kenma really just full of surprises, especially post-timeskip Kenma, I fucking love that Kenma he genuinely one of the best, I wish him the best in life!

Uhhhhhh my top 5 moments might contain some spoilers so guys please if you haven't read Haikyuu, PLEASE DON'T LOOK I BEG YOU(trust me it's better if you read it on your own or wait for the next movie installment):

(1) When you lost but you are still smiling because you finally FINALLY found your equal ah <3

(2) The little Giant vs The World's Greatest Decoy...Actually I applaud Furudate-sensei for even thinking of them like this because people were going on about Hinata would be jealous of Hoshiumi and how there would be a type of resentment between the two because they both might want the little giant title but Furudate said no and gave the greatest story about upliftment, finding your own self-identity and paving your own paths (writing this thru my tears btw I realise now why I don't talk about Haikyuu that much I just start crying lmfao)

(3) “it’s just a club” - this scene making top 5 because one, it’s literally PEAK FICTION and story telling and two, I saw my little sister ugly cried to this scene…shoutout to my little sister

(4) I am not even gonna say anything except the fact I was paralyzed in utter shock during this scene. Also this scene followed by Takeda sensei...I CAN NOT TELL YOU HOW IT CHANGED THE TRAJECTORY OF MY LIFELINE.

(5) The entirety of Brazil arc...Gun to my head I can't not choose one moment out of it because every panel, every interaction and everything about this arc is phenomenal

Also quickly my top 3 ships from hq would be: Kagehina (not immune to the soulmates agenda), Iwaoi (not immune to the annoying x annoyed but still loves agenda) and Tsukiyama (only yamaguchi can love this guy ngl)

Haikyuu!! Chapter 291: The Day of Change

I’ll be just crowing over this chapter. Ha! Crow-ing! Hell yeah, Karasuno!

The whole stadium is in uproar, completely taken aback with Karasuno’s win. But none is as surprised as the heroes of the match who remains in stunned disbelief with their successful block. It still doesn’t look like it has sunk in even when the team has descended upon them. (poor tsukishima is just so tired, finally, he can rest)

On the other side of the court, their loss is currently sinking in for Inarizaki. It’s always tough to see their expressions, but only one team can win in a match. (and damn, i need to be prepared, don’t i? i’m excited, but also terrified for battle of trash heap)

By the way of Battle of Trash Heap…

They’ve all got their game face on. And they all look badass. Even Kenma has his excited face. Yes, that excited face.

Now I’m getting stoked again for the upcoming match.

The training camp coaches are so proud, despite Hinata is not actually one of the players they actually coached, he wasn’t even invited lol. But they did witness his struggle and growth in the training camp, and to see him reap the result, on the national stage nonetheless…

Then the handshake,

Ace to Ace. Captain to Captain. Setter to Setter. There cannot be better matchups really. (which also gets me thinking, can asahi be said that he’s on par with the aces of the nation’s top 5 now? he kicks ass in this match)

Hinata’s getting more setter to his harem. The last time we heard that sentiment is Oikawa, and both Oikawa and Atsumu show their dislike of Hinata’s demanding style, and yet neither can resist the intrigue and challenge of meeting Hinata’s demand. Oh Hinata.

And is that a challenge for them to meet again on the national stage? Does that mean we’ll see Haikyuu with the current second years at the core of their teams? I’m holding on to that Furudate-sensei.

The cheering squad gets the acknowledgment they deserve. Sportsmanship doesn’t end on the court, they extend to the cheering squad. Well done both teams’ cheering squads! The teams cannot do as well without you! (grandma kita’s precious) True cheering squad understand better than anyone else the team’s struggles and keep cheering even when the team loses.

Kita is as calm as ever. Seriously, I’m getting Ushijima’s vibe from him. Tanaka’s getting fans, who started off doubting him and ended up cheering for him, well done! (and he’s so clueless, seriously, i’m starting to think that tanaka actually has a fair share of admirers, but he’s just too oblivious). Yachi is so, so relieved. I’m surprised she doesn’t turn into a blubbering mess right then and there. Kiyoko’s grinning, she’s so proud of her boys.

Honestly these two, they are so much alike. One cannot help but wonder whether they are the best of friends or the bitterest of enemies lol.

Oh dear. I cackle. Kita’s so unimpressed. But surprisingly, the troublemakers do respect his senpais and feel responsible for their loss.

Kita’s such a good captain. In the end, he’s the one who brings the strong team to tears. Not their loss, but just him and his words and his pride in his team. He has the right to cry for his last game, but he’s smiling because he’s happy for his wayward children, who finally have someone to keep up with them and someone they look forward to facing off in the future. Oh Kita ｡ﾟ･（>﹏<）･ﾟ｡

He’s cemented his place in the top 3 of my fave captains. Honestly, Furudate-sensei is amazing. Not only he manages to make all the teams distinct, but also give them personality of their own, while similarities can be seen, such as Kita, who bears resemblance to Daichi and Ushijima (and Kuroo?), it is still distinctly Kita. But captains? Captains are something else. Captain squad FTW!

Tired Karasuno is tiredTM. Kageyama’s whites can be seen. Noya is just plain adorable (insert loud squealing here). Daichi’s eyebags has bags. Asahi’s yawning like a lion. Tanaka’s halfway (un)dressing himself. Tsukishima’s head lols back and forth like a pendulum. All but one.

Hinata has experienced his moment. You’d think that his moment will be similar to Bokuto, in that they are both aces and spikers, that it will be about spiking, and yet it cannot be any different, because for Hinata it is when he makes perfect receive. Hinata is already deep into volleyball mania, what will the experience make of him? will it be good or will it be bad? I end up analysing things anyway, brain, please shut off. (and tsukki’s so attentive of hinata, seriously all the tsukihina lately makes me happy. now where’s all the fics?)

Old souls captain. Seriously, only Kita and Kuroo who speak of their kouhai as though they are much older. ‘kids’, ‘youngster’… lol After getting through the personality mismatch I think they’ll get along talking in old-man speak. It’ll be hilarious.

THIS ISN'T DIRECTED AT ANYONE HERE I JUST NEED TO LET THIS OUT but i've been seeing posts on twt about tiktok hq fans hating or being embarrassed about certain characters... lowkey i feel like if you actively hate someone in haikyuu maybe you're just a judgmental person because ?? these are just people with dreams, most of them being KIDS 😭

likeee the only hq character that comes into my mind who i have an 🧍‍♀️ opinion of is washijo like it's not even hate bc if we're being real, without him hinata wouldn't have gotten his ball boy arc and he wouldn't have done his perfect receive and everything else that comes after (and i also acknowledge that this dislike is purely personal bc i have trauma from older people who project their problems onto kids BUT i am aware washijo gets his character development and i am proud of him for that you go old man!!!)

haikyuu is frl the only series where i can say i enjoy all the characters like i'm a huge haikyuu fan but i still know jackshit about volleyball but the characters are written so well that i stayed for them !!! giving furudate a telepathic high ten bc haikyuu frl changed my life

omg i saw those screenshots too 😭 like, in a story with so many characters, not liking them equally is understandable, and you're allowed to dislike charas in any media for whatever reason but like... Haikyuu Hater...? could not be me in any form honestly.

Are there other art styles you dabbled with or have you always drawn with the intention of the current clean lined manga style you post now? I saw in the tags of your other asks that you have been into furudate's style recently so I'm wondering how you have been influenced before that and the transition of your art styles. I have sooo many questions that I'll try to hold back so I don't absolutely badger overwhelm you but I'm extremely interested in hearing about your art journey! Your lines are so strong, clean and finite, it leaves the impression of bravery and courage. You seem to be very humble but I wanted to objectively say that you're an amazing artist! i started doing digital art pretty early on, like elementary/middle school? (started out just drawing stuff like my little pony and warrior cats fanart hbds)

ive spent most of my time messing around w fanart for anime and western cartoons, so i would say that other fanart/official art for those styles have been my primary influence! although my style has changed it's pretty much always been stuff with solid colors and cel shading.

i also focused on animation (without doing 'regular' art) for a period of time, inspired by a lot of japanese animators! (it's something that i'd love to return to after i feel a bit more 'solid' with regular art, so maybe you'll see some haikyuu animations at some point!! maybe??? no promises though)

the manga influence has been pretty recent, i'd say just the past year or so, because it's just been something i've been paying more attention to when reading manga. furudate's influence is even more recent because i've actually only started reading the manga around the time i started doing these! (i'm so glad i did) i've become more comfortable with doing a kind of 'clean sketch' style, with quick, loose, kinda angular lines. i like it because i don't have to focus on getting each line 'perfect', and working in just black and white means i can draw things a bit quicker (i think lol)

The Smiling God vs Saiki Kusuo: 49.1/50.9 With just a .8% difference, Saiki K. managed to pull through! And on the Night Vale website no less! Great job Saiki! Your friends are probably very proud, though you probably don't enjoy all this attention,,,, sorry!

Mare Incubus vs Mianite: 50.4/49.6 Would ya look at that, Mare Incubus made it to round 2! I honestly didn't think he would get this far, considering the fact that he's the protagonist of a Norwegian book series that had never been translated to English. All that propaganda certainly paid off! Great job, Mare!

Jake English vs Mythra: 49.5/50.5 I honestly didn't think this match would be so close! I'm not sure who I thought the favorite would be, but I certainly didn't think they would almost tie! Sorry Jake, looks like your Hope powers weren't strong enough to get you the win. You still have a long way to go on your journey, young Page. As for Mythra, well, I don't know much about Xenoblade, so here's what my friend has to say about her win: "I see mythra won and therefore everyone is correct"

The Great God Om vs Feena: 86.8/13.2 I'm so sorry for this matchup, Feena. I genuinely underestimated how popular Discworld was! Feena will have another chance at victory in the losers bracket. Maybe this time, she'll have a fair shot at victory.

Rosalina vs Scaramouche: 81.1/18.9 As a Genshin fan, I think it's very funny that Scaramouche lost this hard. I'm glad we can all agree that he's truly a small, sad little wet noodle. Also, fun fact, I beat his boss fight first try. Get rekt you pathetic little man.

Shade Lord vs Ozpin: 80.8/19.2 Ya know what, I get it. Shade Lord does look pretty cool. Perhaps this was an unfair matchup. To be honest, I kind of thought RWBY's popularity would make this unfair for Shade Lord.

Bill Cipher vs Madoka Kaname: 35.8/64.2 Honestly, it was so funny to see everyone rooting for Madoka to beat Bill's ass in the tags. In other, unrelated news, Bill Cipher was found dead in Miami. Oops, I wonder who could've done that!

The Glow Cloud vs Q: 70.4/29.6 I honestly thought this would be closer, considering how popular Star Trek is. This matchup definitely surprised me. Also, my mom was very upset about Q's loss. She's very disappointed in you all.

Venti/Lord Barbatos vs Void Termina: 32.9/67.1 Alas, my poor blorbo! As poll runner, there was nothing I could do to sway opinions in Venti's favor, for I must remain impartial! It hurts to see my favorite silly little guy lose, but at least we still have the losers bracket.

The Harvest Goddess vs Hanyuu Furude: 51.2/48.8 Yet another blorbo, gone too soon! Hanyuu, you're the best in my heart. Unfortunately, this match was too close to allow Hanyuu to qualify for the losers bracket, so this was her only chance. Hanyuu, you will be missed.

Ohhhhh! I got tricked cause they swapped the opposite way from what I thought! So the key thing was likely a trick for Mion to meet him as Shion, thus giving context to how she could do the huddle thing and her talk with Ooishi. Also, super recontextualizes the who would you save discussion. (Maybe the bento was Mion too, but not super sure until they confirm it).

Yeah, I guess closed off elitists could come to be interpreted as oni by neighbors… I can tell you my neighbor is! *slaps knee*

I agree with Keiichi {{shudders}}, not sure how the kidnapping= specifically someone from Hinamizawa is the culprit. Like abstractly the Oyashiro-Sama sacrifice, sure, but that seems flimsy.

I know the gang’s about to jump you, but this is one of the few times you should legit be comforting Shion, like that’s not the kind of thing you can just shake off dude. Also, I give the Silver voice back as a good luck charm. (I’m gonna headcanon that the Sonozaki family has a “hedgehog” accent, but Shion has been slowly losing it)

“We haven’t found Satoko yet.”

The minute Keiichi tries to lie to them, the gang’s like:

Went back to Oni to see if I missed a mistake from Rika’s performance, but instead got real uncomfortable with how much they referenced and compared food with the cotton

That said, I did think with this being so early, it does kinda make it unlikely to be the answer at least not for everything. Mion was very careful to say she was related to every murder, but not that she did them afterall. 

God the Sonozaki twin theory is worded so weirdly, but I think I get it. The theory is that they were working together to take down the three fam squads, w/ Shion able to go off and murder while Mion was helping search. Then when the police came Mion was supposed to either hide in the well, later escaping to meet up with Shion, or die there and let the bloody history end.

Also no, he got stabbed because he was a shit to Mion, like What? Is the sin breaking a heart?

I can’t believe this over 70 hour game has the nerve to tell you to go back and read chapters again immediately after each one. (Maybe I’ll look at Oni again after I finish Chapter 4, but that’s a maybe)

I kinda hope that the killer is not only a person, but someone we’ve already met. Like even if it's set up really well, I don't want the ultimate answer to be “Got you!  The entire time it was a demon you only just met” *narrows eyes at the girl on the chapter 7 cover*

Well this was fun. I enjoy all the pieces Wata puts down, even if I missed a lot of them. 

My one question that I’m not sure the game will cover is the point of divergence for the timelines, because like how did Keiichi come to be in the club at least three days before Oni

Also I feel extremely validated by the fact Keiichi never returned the maid outfit.
