The Complete Guide To Furnace Repair: Keep Warm And Cozy
Winter is coming, and you know what that means - it's time to make sure your furnace is in top-notch condition. A malfunctioning furnace can turn your cozy abode into an icy nightmare, but fear not!
In this blog post, we'll walk you through the ins and outs of furnace repair services in South Shore MA. Whether you're a seasoned homeowner or a first-time renter, our friendly and approachable guide will help you tackle furnace issues with ease.
Signs Your Furnace Needs Repair
Before we dive into the nitty-gritty of furnace repair, it's important to recognize the warning signs that indicate your heating system may be in need of some TLC. Keep an eye out for these red flags:
Loud and unusual noises: If your furnace is making clanking, banging, or squealing noises, it's time to investigate further.
Inconsistent heating: Are certain areas of your home colder than others? Uneven heating can indicate a problem with your furnace.
Increased energy bills: If you notice a sudden spike in your energy bills without any apparent reason, a malfunctioning furnace could be the culprit.
Frequent cycling: Does your furnace turn on and off frequently? This can be a sign of a faulty thermostat or other internal issues.
DIY Troubleshooting Tips
Before calling in the professionals, there are a few troubleshooting steps you can take to potentially fix minor furnace problems yourself. Keep in mind that safety should always be your top priority, so if you're unsure or uncomfortable, it's best to consult a qualified technician. Here are some DIY tips to try:
Check the thermostat: Ensure that the thermostat is set to the desired temperature and is functioning properly. Replace batteries if necessary.
Inspect the air filters: Clogged or dirty filters can obstruct airflow and put a strain on your furnace. Clean or replace filters regularly to maintain optimal performance.
Inspect the pilot light: If you have a gas furnace, check if the pilot light is lit. If it's out, follow the manufacturer's instructions to relight it safely.
Clear vents and registers: Make sure that vents and registers are not blocked by furniture or other objects. Obstructions can restrict airflow and lead to heating problems.
When to Call a Professional
While some furnace issues can be resolved with DIY troubleshooting, there are situations where it's best to call in the experts. Here are a few instances when you should seek professional Furnace Repair South Shore MA services:
Major malfunctions: If your furnace refuses to turn on, blows cold air, or emits strange odors, it's time to let the professionals take over.
Gas furnace problems: Dealing with gas-related issues requires specialized knowledge and expertise. Gas leaks or other gas furnace malfunctions should be addressed by qualified technicians.
System age and maintenance: If your furnace is old and hasn't been properly maintained, it's wise to have it inspected by professionals. They can identify potential problems and provide appropriate repairs or replacements.
The Benefits of Regular Furnace Maintenance
Prevention is always better than cure, and the same holds true for your furnace. Regular maintenance can save you from costly repairs and ensure that your heating system operates efficiently through Home Heating Oil Provider in Brockton MA. Here are the key benefits of scheduling annual furnace maintenance:
Improved energy efficiency: A well-maintained furnace operates more efficiently, reducing energy consumption and lowering your utility bills.
Extended lifespan: Regular maintenance helps extend the lifespan of your furnace, saving you money in the long run.
Enhanced safety: A professional inspection can identify safety hazards, such as gas leaks or carbon monoxide leaks, ensuring the well-being of your household.
Conclusion
Furnace repair doesn't have to be a daunting task. Destiny Architecture
I went on a whole ramble about the architecture of the various factions in Destiny and thought I'd share it here. I'm not an architect, so my knowledge is basic when it comes to technical things, but hopefully it is interesting!
They did a fantastic job with the architecture of the different factions and what it says about them.
The Red Legion and Caiatl's Ascendency are all pragmatic, organised military designs - fortifications, the round buildings with windows on each side linked by trenches. Watchtowers. In the Arms Dealer strike, you have areas where there are loads of vehicles meticulously organised. They are prepared for the long haul, dug into the planets they land on, and they are proud of their machinery, both literal and metaphorica - it's all on display, the pistons and furnaces and engines. There are service shafts and hangars! It's all very practical (and makes the Glykon even more unnerving because the passages and service shafts don't make any practical sense in the way that they connect!).
Calus on the other hand... the Leviathan has the same base in terms of doors and the like, you can recognise some of the same basics - like the shapes of the doors etc. but the pragmatic things are hidden away - they're reminiscent of the servant quarters in old British stately homes - you need them for the place to function! But the people in charge don't want to see them. Calus wants to be surrounded by gold and riches and luxury and not think about the things and people that make it possible. It's always been something that I've thought of when it comes to his empire – he acts like all of it was a place of luxury and hedonism and art, but like the Roman Empire that inspired the culture, that luxury is truly only available to a few people, and is only possible because a much greater number of people are working to provide the materials and labour. We don't really hear or see much about the people the Empire conquered beyond the Psions, but were they living in such luxury? Probably not.
The Eliskni architecture all feels very cobbled together and makeshift - there are visible seams and bolts, spots where colours don't match. It's makeshift, which suits their history as a people who have been forced to flee and exist on scavenging for a long time. And there's always a lot of nautical theming going on too - rigging and nets and hoisted awnings like sails. They feel like places made by people who are expecting to need to pack up and leave at any minute. Everything tends to be rounded, which is particularly obvious when you see the Devils in Rise of Iron - everything is more angular because of SIVA and the Rasputin influence, even the shanks. I'd love it if we could get a look at the original Riis architecture.
The Hive are very gothic architecture with a dash of Gaudi (take a look at the Sagrada Família for what I'm thinking). High chambered ceilings, flying buttresses, all the carved figures and motifs - except when you get closer you realise that it's also uncomfortably organic. And it's also decaying – once you get inside the dreadnaught especially you find it full of piles of festering debris, wormspore growing from the corpses of thralls. There are spaces where anything could jump out at you. It's like a civilisation mocking the grand architecture of other species by warping it into something rotten (and also very gothic literature as well - the grand imposing gothic mansion with the dark secret and unpleasant history). The names of the locations in the Dreadnaught often tie-in with the architecture since a lot of them are religious: the portico, basillica, the crypts, the Cathedral of Dusk. They are a species worshipping Oryx, the very real and tangible god.
The Moon under Crota has a similar style, but where the Dradnaught is organic, the areas under the surface of the moon (outside the Red Keep) are more technological - there are still the flying buttresses and supports, the spikes and and pillars around the Hellmouth, but they're blockier, less rounded, stone and metal rather than chitin.
Savathun's Throne World has similar architecture, and returns to the organic feel of the Dradnaught, but in blinding white and red rather than browns. It's similar to the Leviathan in a way – the public areas are much cleaner feeling, regal and filled with Light, but when you dig down you can find the same rot and debris as the Dreadnaught (thinking especially of the 2nd mission of the Witch Queen campaign). Where the Dreadnaught was a mockery of other species, the Throne World feels like it's trying to copy them – this is what Savathun thinks the Light is, look she's changed, really! But in the end, it's more like a coat of paint slapped over a wall with a bad mold problem. The names also switch from kind of Catholic, to more magical and alchemical - Apothacary, altars, temples etc.
The Awoken are really doing the whole fantasy elf thing in a lot of ways, but more with stone than woodland than in Tolkien when we see the Dreaming City. Everything fits in seamlessly with the landscape (which makes sense since it was essentially created with wish magic to be exactly what Mara wanted!). The buildings follow the lines of mountains, pathways carved into crystal caves, the bridge which has supports like the branches of trees like they've grown up from the ground. And there's nature everywhere! But it's not a natural environment. Even when it seems like you're in nature, it's very cultivated - like the garden of a stately home which wants 'wilderness' so has landscaped it. It's also deceptive in the way you go from the 'wilderness' to these very high fantasy buildings, and then as you walk you see these technological marvels like the Oracle Engine, just integrated into it. The Dreaming City is very much portraying an image and is a very finely tuned machine in itself. I kind of wonder what the other Awoken settlements beyond the Dreaming City and the Vestian outpost look like.
Clovis Bray facilities are very minimalist and very obviously designed to make you think 'lab' and 'high technology'. He really wants you to see his stuff and have you think 'this is the future' in a way that draws 70s sci-fi ideas of the future - the way all the sharp edges are rounded off, the bright blocks of colour, the way all of the technology is very conspicuously on display, the massive windows that make all the conveyors and machinery visible. He wants to show off his stuff, and also make everyone who works there know that they're being watched. There's also the huge open spaces and massive drops like Eternity and Creation, which are utterly impractical but also feel infinite and are designed to make you go wow.
You see similar architecture on Neomuna (since Clovis was involved with the colonisation efforts) but on a much more human scale. They have a lot of the same components – the pillars and display screens, the curved bases of the walls – but they're softened with plants and murals, places to sit and socialise. It's not a lab, it's a city where people live. And also it's Neptune, they are a long way from the sun, so everything is bright and vibrant to make up for that. I think you can also see a lot of influence from the Ishtar Collective locations on Venus in Neomuna - they also tend to have a lot of display screens and neon and lots of spots for plants to grow. And then you get outside of the City and see the Veil Containment bunker and see the concrete and metal pragmatism that underpins the city.
The Iron Temple/Vostok is a place that is trying very hard to be a medieval castle with all of the statues and bonfires and the whole aesthetic of the Iron Lords. The statues of the Iron Lords all bear axes and swords. But when you look at it, you can see the very Soviet brutalist foundation of the place. So much of it is blocky concrete - the walls are squared off and unornamented, the observatory is concrete and metal. Every time I go in to where Tyra stands, I'm surprised that the pillar she's standing by is not round, because it's very easy to buy into the illusion they're projecting. There's also the concrete pillar that serves as vault and lights up when you approach - it has the technology, but like the Dreaming City, it's integrated into the landscape. Unlike the dreaming City, they really don't want to show you it.
Raputin's bunkers are just fantastic design in so many ways. They have a very clear shape (you can see the shape of a door and know immediately that this is something Warmind related), everything tends to be at right-angles. It's all very pragmatic and logically laid out. There is definitely technology there, and it's not really trying to hide, but it isn't showing off like Clovis does. Where Clovis is 70's aspirational sci-fi design, Rasputin architecture has a very Cold War vibe to it - none of the technology is flashy - it's chunky terminals running the most basic looking command line UI. It's thick cables and pipes and probably a million redundancies. The kind of tech which is designed to be found in a few centuries and still be reasonably functional. Also unhackable unless you are physically present. Rasputin is an AI so advanced that he can out-think the Vex, but his facilities are built to have the resilience of a Nokia 3310 phone, and are inspired by bunkers designed to survive nuclear war.
(I also think it's not accidental that the Warsats are made up of many angular shapes, especially triangles, trying to be a sphere, considering the whole motif of the pyramids vs the Traveller)
Pyramid Architecture is really really trying to pull off the sword logic 'pared down to remove anything extraneous' and present the idea of a universe united as one in its final shape... and is failing miserably at that. At first glance it's all straight clean lines, black stone, leaning towards brutalist, but they just can't keep it up – they're full of pillars serving no purpose, statues, coloured stone insets. Rhulk's pyramid is full of artwork painted onto the walls. There's so much symbolism built into them. They're incredibly ornate! Because as much as the Witness wants everyone to believe that it is one united force with one specific goal, it kind of isn't. It's made up of many many individuals. Even if those individuals that made it up all agreed on the final shape, it's nearly impossible to get one person to have a 100% consistent view of the universe, let alone hundreds! And especially in the Witness' pyramid ship in Root of Nightmares, you get the impression it's something of a mausoleum for its species and the other species its destroyed. There's lots of coffin-shaped and sized objects in there, and relics hidden away. It isn't as clean and focused as it would like the universe to think.

Hi! I loved your fics (specially with Charles and John) and i was thinking about making a request
Could you do a Charles x reader smut. Maybe with the reader has a big thing for doing it dangerously and poor Mr. Smith has to deal with his girl
Closer
(Charles Smith x Fem!Reader Smut)
This was so fun to write, it was very free flowing/not structured, so it was new
Warnings: smut, asphyxiation, public sex, impact play, just risky sex lol
Tumblr media
The bulk of Charles reminded you of what it was like to be strong. You’d huddle into his robust arms, he’d wrap them around you, dwarfing you completely, and you’d hear the familiar breathing of your lover. His morale and strong nature never dwindled, and he would pick you up when you were down (both literally and metaphorically). But Charles’ stature especially served as a source of comfort for you, his strength was remarkable, capable of defending you from anything and anyone, and he was competent in everything he did. Especially in loving you. The fortuitous exultation he felt seeing you rely so heavily on him: having you ask him for acts of service, ask for advice, or have you ask him to teach you something. And he got pleasure out of beating the daylights out of anyone in your name.
And more than anything, the two of you loved the sheer size difference between you two.
Charles outweighed you by at least fifty pounds, if not more. His biceps alone were nearly the size of your head. His massive back and torso would cover you completely when he was on top of you; his arms caging and protecting you, blotting out the outside world. And in prudent hesitation, he would shakily wrap his arm around your neck and squeeze upon request. For a while, Charles did not understand your obsession with being put in a chokehold. He could not fathom you getting any sort of pleasure from it, but when he heard your shaky breaths, whimpers slipping in between, he would be roused to squeeze harder. And when he saw your increasingly reddening face, both from pleasure and asphyxiation, he couldn’t keep his own cock from twitching.
Charles loved you more than anything, and his tenderness with you would bleed into many aspects of your relationship. Especially sex. He was well aware of his strength, as were you. And Charles would quickly discover, to his surprise, how much you enjoyed being shoved into pillows before sex, slapping your tender skin where you asked, yanking your hair multiple times at varying levels of strength until he got it right up to your standard, holding you down on the bed, grinding away at delicate bones too hard until he felt them shift, all just the way you liked it. And you happily took every bit of it. You’d have your fevered and bruised skin to show, flaunting the deep purple marks around camp so blatantly a few of the gang members would worry for you.
Your moments of sweet cessation around camp together would be delicately intimate, a rare shred of privacy allotted for the two of you, which would inevitably be interrupted by some gang member’s bumbling maundering over something or the other. The cutlery and mugs would look pocket-sized in his grasp, his hands in gargantuan proportions compared to your own. On a more pure occasion, you’d reach across from where you'd be sitting together and trace the curve of his cheeks with the back of your hand, reminiscent of the way he would before slapping you in bed.
Before bed, Charles would occasionally ask you again and again why you enjoyed it so much, what part of you was satiated by the practices. You would simply say you didn’t know why, it was just enjoyable. He would continue to ponder the question as the two of you laid in his tent, your body flipped away from him and your back pressed to his large chest. His arm would drape over your body along with the blanket, his body working as a furnace and providing more heat than the blanket ever could. His breath warm against your neck, goosebumps rising as his lips ghosted the sensitive, downy nape of your neck.
And just as his breath was evening out and slowing down, under the belief that the two of you were finally settling in for the night, you’d guide his hand to your lap, bunching up your nightgown until it was flipped over your hips. He’d blink away sleepiness, his eyes adjusting to the darkness around you, barely registering what you were doing before you hiked your leg up and behind his massive thigh, stretching your legs wide so his palm could cup your pussy.
Charles would become hyper aware of what was happening, especially around him: He’d take notice of the distant chattering coming from the bright camp fire from across camp, the sleeping bodies that were only a few feet from you, the people wandering around the camp entrances acting as guard who’d be more alert than anyone else.
“(Name), what are you doing?” He’d ask in a hushed tone.
Your only response would be a stifled whimper as you ground your pussy against his hand. And even though every fiber in his body would tell him to stop, to keep your intimacy private and dignities intact, he would drag his calloused fingers along your pussy, his rough pads circling your sensitive bud. The hair on the back of your neck would stand as you listened to his heavy breathing against your ear, grinding your ass back on his semi erect cock. You’d guide his hand under your bloomers, raking through your soft curls until he reached your folds, parting your pussy and exposing your clit. You’d urge him to rub harder, pressing your hand into his as he rubbed vigorously.
You’d be moaning openly into the air if not for the arm wrapped over your mouth, his bicep muffling, virtually silencing you completely. You’d cover his arm in drool, occasionally dragging your tongue over the skin tentatively. The pleasure was overwhelming, washing over you like cresting waves. Eventually, he’d sink a finger into you to the hilt, curling the finger and feeling the way you twitched and jerked in his hold. You’d grip onto his forearm, sinking your nails into the steel rod that was his arm and leaving behind crescent shapes.
The two of you would become keenly aware of the body next to you, rolling and mumbling in their sleep, and you’d go stiff in fear of being discovered. But the fear was enthralling, and it would encourage you even more to grind down on his fingers, eyes rolling back as you moaned louder into his arm.
Hair stuck to your forehead with sweat, and he’d slide a second, even a third finger inside you, curling and pumping in and out of you. He’d smirk when he’d hear the muffled squelching coming from in between your legs, getting awfully caught up in the moment and forgetting there were people around you that could potentially hear.
Eventually, his hand would clamp over your mouth as tight as he could, bordering on covering your nostrils. His other hand would clutch your hip hard, staring intensely into your quivering back as he slid his large cock into your tight hole, stretching you so wide he’d feel your back arch and legs tense. He’d use his strength to pin you in place as he fucked you hard. Your skin would be iridescent with sweat, muscles taut and pulled tight as violin strings, your bodies moving in sync.
“Fuck me, Charles.” You’d gasp quietly, attempting to move your hips back in time to meet his thrusts. You’d whine in frustration if Charles even dared to stop if someone passed your tent, not caring that they were only a few feet away. Charles' chest would rumble lowly in a growl as he thrust all the way in, balls deep as his hips slapped against the fatty flesh of your thighs and ass. And you would gasp in satisfaction as your lover lovingly impaled you, deliciously, again and again.
Charles would be hesitant, but he’d always cave into your wants and desires. How could he ever deny his precious lover? Shaky hands would wrap around your throat, tightening each time as you whimpered how it wasn’t enough. And he’d have to be the one who got reassurance, making sure he wasn’t hurting you.
Your affinity for risky sex had the poor man sweating, but again, how could he turn you down? You’d insist he eat you out in broad daylight, only paces away from camp in the woods on a log, where anyone in the gang could peer over and see his tongue rolling flat over your clit. How you insist he take a bath with you in the lake after a long day of work, just barely out of sight from the camp, lazily tracing your tongue over the sweat that clung to his muscles as he fucked you in the water. How you’d request he pinch your nostrils closed as you throated his cock completely, your throat constricting as you struggled to take in a breath. And you would not allow him to let go until your vision was spotted with black. How you insist he finish inside you every single time, pumping you full of cum, round after round, until a halo of white formed around his base as he fucked the rest into you.
Poor Charles, some would say. Being pushed to his limits each and every time as his boundaries expanded with each passing day with you. Seeing the satisfied glint in your eye afterwards was always worth it, and how you’d allow him to clean you up and take care of you. Feeding you food and wiping you down between your legs, rubbing your belly as he wondered when would be the day.
Charles was strength, he embodied it. But he was gentle, delicate. He was benign.

you can be as aware as you’d like and prepare mentally and spiritually as much as possible for death and it’s effects but the instant, random and unpredictable loss of a loved one is such an incomputable thing that really all of these attempts still seem to (temporarily) provide almost no benefit. it’s easy to be fascinated and mesmerized by it in a way that is both aesthetic and child-like, but not much lasting is gained from it.
however, there is really no other event that can immediately and so clearly put things into such perfect and precise perspective as this. so much so that a lifetime without such a tragedy is almost lived at a tremendous disadvantage, missing a critical component. timing is important too - deaths of friends and family at a very young age can’t always fall on the ready and developed heart to fully understand. i spoke to another soldier recently who had told me that he was in his late twenties and had never had a family member or close friend pass away yet. he expressed fear that when maybe one did, many would follow and he wouldn’t be able to register it. there is more to pull from this than it seems.
everything is burned up instantly in the proverbial furnace of the eternal events which we must keep and the temporal ones which we can’t. along with the mourning comes the immediate shame and foolishness of what we waste our time and energy on. without living a life that is aimed at eternity and service to god and man, the short time we fill with playing in the dirt is a tragedy even more incomprehensible than the sudden loss of the people we love.

Last week was a lot. I told my team that I was leaving for another experience. They are sad and processing but also very happy for me. We cried a little at the end of the meeting. The initial support structure I had in place was OK but a few parts were confusing/concerning so I adjusted those and I think they feel better. My boss isn't sure where they will officially report into yet but I just made the call and confirmed who their direct manager will be. I've let all of my partners across the company know which has been weird, but OK.
The work in the new role is SO intense, I'm learning everything as fast as I can but also have to apply new learns to what I really don't understand yet to a plan that has to be localized into multiple languages by next week. It's nuts but there's no option not to do it, so I'm working a lot this weekend. I was experiencing such a confidence crisis but a few meetings on Friday validated I am moving in the right direction. For the first time in so long, I had anxiety dreams about work which in a weird way is a good sign - I was just kind of....dead, going through the motions, not super busy, not really caring about anything. My brain is waking up. It's where I am at my best. There will be a time for another way of moving through the world but right now for this next year/last experience, I want to be driving something hard and seeing the impact. I want to push myself to take risks and not be an invisible middle manager. Shirley said that I am like a little joey (baby kangaroo) - I am mostly comfortable living my emotions through animals and I have a tendency of hiding like a little joey. I already see this job will make me deal with conflict, stand in the strength of my opinion instead of being accommodating and malleable, afraid of making someone upset. There's such personal growth here for me.
The Alki remodel continues to provide a number of surprises. After we found so many concerns in the electric wiring in the lower unit, I asked the contractor to have the electrician check the upper unit as well. He couldn't even do much given the electrical panel is over 30 years old, so I had it replaced. We also repaired some cracks in the roof and an HVAC person is coming out to assess what I should do to upgrade the 30 year furnace. It's a lot but I am comforted to know these upgrades will make everything so much stronger and safer, I'm much more confident in renting it now. Another fun thing, the contractor found an outdoor shower on the side of the house so we're going to replace it with this and create a little area with a sauna, so someone can do a cold plunge in the ocean, and then wash off in the shower and take a sauna. It's actually not expensive and the contractor can build it for us. I'm excited!
Tumblr media
Health-wise, I signed up for a service that will make it easier for me to get the updates to my health that I need. I got 16 vials of blood taken on Friday for a number of tests - a full panel including a lot of early detection stuff.
This is going to be such a good year. It already is. I trust it. I trust that good things are here, that I deserve them and I am going to meet every moment with new strength, new capability and create more silence so those that are guiding me can be heard even more clearly.

ANNA THE HUNTRESS X READER HEAD CANNONS??
AN: My god, it's ''fasnet'' time here right now and my days are spent being hunted by witches and being too drunk, but I finally got around to writing again!
Warnings: NSFW in the second part, but there's another warning further down
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Anna lacks a lot of experience in the romance compartment. I tend to think she must've lived in some kind of community at least one time in her life. After all, even as a fully self-sufficient hunter, there are things you need to buy to start such a life. My guess is, she lived near a cottage or village of some sort as a child when her mother was still alive. Still, even when she still had the means to socialize, I doubt there were many who found her romantically interesting (as sad and unbelievable as that is). Relationships whose focus lies on romance and not the typical mother-daughter antics she's used are therefore new territory to her.
This is why at the beginning of said relationship, she'll most likely treat you more like someone she has to take care of, than an equal.
This providing side of her is the attribute she is most prideful about, though. Anna's love language is 100% acts of service. Her life is spent making sure you're healthy (physically and emotionally), fed and feeling loved and cared for. She won't calm down until she's sure every task revolving around your well-being is taken care of.
Her passion for those tasks, however, can also be a hassle. Many nights, you might spend alone because Anna is busy, hunting, sewing, cooking or preserving food. She can be a bit oblivious to the emotional needs one might have in a romantic relationship, another consequence of her solitary lifestyle and lack of experience. She needs a lot of instruction to figure out that sometimes, you just need her to hold you.
Lucky for you, Anna is very, very attentive. She wouldn't have survived without being alert at all times. With you in the center of her life, she can put all that attention and focus on you, learn every single thing about you and memorize it.
Give the Huntress a few months, and she can read the smallest signs of body language you exhibit. A small shiver? She's there with a blanket. Rubbing your tummy absentmindedly? She'll warm up some stew. Eyes looking a bit more remote and isolated than usual? She'll hurry up with her chores, so you can cuddle up before you go to bed.
While we're on the topic of cuddling, Anna is so touch-starved. In the beginning, she's afraid to ask for your touch, scared that her scars or more or less intimidating figure disgust you. When she realizes you like the way her body looks, her touches and asks grow a lot bolder. It's her favorite activity, relaxing somewhere while you touch her. Even if you're just holding her cheek, or checking for injuries, she'd do anything to have those hands linger on her skin.
And she's so warm. The red forest is always a damp kind of cold, a wet freezing temperature that seeps into your clothing and bones and cools you from the inside. You don't know how she does it, but Anna is like a furnace. Even if she just came out of the pouring rain, her torso is blazing hot and perfect for pressing your freezing hands against.
That attribute of hers is especially helpful at night, when you come to realize how painfully cold it can get, even under a bunch of wool and fur blankets. Since Anna is probably taller than you, she encases you better than any blanket ever could. Plus, she'd never complain about your cold hands against her body, if anything it makes her happy to know that she can warm you up.
Now, onto a little more spicy coziness. (NSFW content following, if that was not clear enough ;))
Tumblr media
Anna's sense of providing for you doesn't decrease in the bedroom. If anything, it gets more intense. The Huntress is a pretty dominant top, bordering on a stone top, meaning she focuses on her partner's desires without expecting much in return.
But, as mentioned before, she can be a bit oblivious to her partner's needs at the beginning of a relationship. If you don't make your desire visible or vocal, chances are she'll mistake your eagerness for a reaction to the cold, simple shyness or the need for some innocent physical attention.
Her first time will be very slow and unsure - she's scared of screwing up, scared of driving you away but nonetheless, very eager to learn. Anna's attentive focus comes in handy, once again. She learns, quickly, either how to fulfill all your wishes, or tease until you're begging.
Which brings us to the next point, Anna adapts very well to your desires. She can be soft and loving, granting your every wish, and at the same time the Huntress has the power to be absolutely ruthless and dominating. What you want her to be is up to you.
One word: size kink. The predator side of Anna is very, very proud of her physique. She's strong, tall, difficult to kill and defeat. Her body is an important asset to her task of protecting and pleasuring you. And since she knows how much you like that body of hers, there's no reason for her to hide the joy she gets from seeing how much stronger, and taller she is, compared to you.
Anna likes to praise as well. She's usually not the most vocal person, speaking only when something is important enough to be voiced. She rather listens to you talk. When she's feeling intimate, that changes drastically. Seeing you so vulnerable and ready for her just entices something inside the Huntress to voice her pride and adoration, even if it's in her mother tongue. Most of the time, she prefers her praise in Russian. That way, she can tell you thoughts that are, in her mind, not yet ready for you to hear.

Warmth
Summary: A lamplighter finds a cat and follows it to find where it lives.
Words: 1,581
(full work under the cut)
.
There were good things about his apartment, such as having street vendors with cheap food on his way to work, so he wouldn’t have to cook anything.
There were also about a dozen bad things about the place, like its size, the lack of good quality light he couldn’t afford, or the constant humidity that seemed to leak from the rivers flowing around the streets.
His old place was infinitely better simply because his mother was there. She was his biggest role model. A dedicated woman who used to rise up before the sun, and worked not only for her family, but out of sincere love for the service she provided.
As a lamplighter, most of his job took place in the ground levels, which eventually led to him looking for a closer place to live in and make the most out of his workday. He still visited her and stayed for the night when he found the chance, using the time to catch up, sitting by the stove for warmth and chatting about anything that came to mind.
She was like his compass. And, while he was clearly old enough to take care of himself, he still relied on her to be his point of reference.
It was during one of those days he went back to his place, that he found a cat inside of his one room, curled up on his bed. He hadn’t even noticed he left his door open the last time he left, and instead was merely baffled he had not needed to unlock the door when he made his way inside. In hindsight… he should’ve questioned why he did that. He should also question how nobody came to steal his belongings, few as they were.
Well, maybe god was looking out for him.
The cat stretched, waking up from its slumber, eyes piercing on the owner of the bed. It was a black cat, with white legs and belly. The man recognized it as one of the cats in the alley he lived in, and while he didn’t pay attention to them most of the time, he could spot them among other cats.
He wasn’t sure why there were so many of them in the area. And why they all looked so healthy. He assumed the street food that fell in the area could only do so much, and their options were limited otherwise.
Hmmm, getting back on track. The cat tilted its head at him, its big green eyes open wide, awaiting the man’s next move. He took off his scarf and coat, setting them aside on the one chair in the room. He reached for the cat, but before he could touch it, it turned around and leapt towards the door.
“Hey, what?” He noticed the door was still open. ”Oh, stars, no… wait!”
Where does it even live? He had one way to find out, he thought, walking back outside, a lamp in hand.
He called out to the cat, raising his voice barely above a whisper so as to not scare it. “I’m not gonna hurt you, come on! Are you hungry?”
No response. He caught a glimpse of its tail as it went down some stairs he never bothered to take.
The cat’s silent walk turned into a cheerful walk as it noticed a light at the end of the staircase, purring loudly in delight. Other, quieter noises came from the light.
“...Does anyone live here? Oh, damn, it’s so warm. Be careful with what you’re burning dude—”
“Hello, are you lost?”
What greeted him was not a can with fire, but someone in a suit, surrounded by cats.
Important to mention that his head looked like some kind of furnace.
And more important it was to mention it was lighting up the place with a warm red light. It wasn’t nearly as much as his own lamp, but it showed the other cats around him, curled up on every free space beside him.
Actually there were a lot of important details to mention, in hindsight.
“Do you need help?” Like the fact the voice is robotic.
Oh! Maybe he could use what he was learning from that one book he got in the labs. If he remembered any of it.
“Huh, not really.”
‘Carry on, then’, was what he expected.
“Do you want to join us?” is what the robot said instead.
“Join… your cats?”
“Yes.”
“Oh, huh… I was just following this one.” He pointed to the culprit, who was now by the robot’s lap, having three newborn kittens feeding from it. “It was in my room, a street away from here.”
“She leaves sometimes. I stay with the small ones. I keep them warm.” The robot replied. His voice wasn’t as rigid as the man expected, but he wasn’t sure what to do with that information. “I protect lost cats. They leave, but they all return.”
“It’s very warm here, yeah. You do a good job.” While the lamplighter wouldn’t go outside without a coat, he felt comfortable in his lighter clothes. He felt his body ask for sleep, but he was a little too intrigued to do that just yet.
The robot took a moment to say something. It seemed he was trying to form a sentence.
“That was my original purpose, warmth.” He explained.
“Wait how… Oh right your head.” He looked away, certain he was being stupid. “What do you do now?”
“Protect lost ones. Lost cats.” The robot set a hand on the black cat’s head, it leaned on his touch. “Warmth gives protection. It keeps living beings healthy. You can sleep here if you want.”
“Uh… I don’t know.”
“Understood.” He said, in a flat tone. It sounded disappointed, even if it sounded exactly the same as the way other robots would say the same thing.
“Have you… always lived here?”
“No. My warmth was needed in the Barrens. Some places are cold, need to move to work too.”
“Oh, for real? That’s cool. I never went there, they said the pay at the mines was good. Before they closed, I mean.” He shrugged.
“I was reassigned to the Refuge. I did not receive a purpose.”
Ah, that made sense to him.  “Scientists are always so busy with everything… I can see that happening. ”
“I found this place. The cats found me. I am staying here.” The robot replied, resolute. The cats were now asleep in a corner.
“I also found this place. I have to do stuff on the surface, so I need to be nearby.”
“Do you have a purpose?”
The man blinked, perplexed. He could… Well. He wasn’t expecting that kind of question. It was… phil… filos.. Philosophy! He never learnt any. He guessed people asked about that when they study Philosophy.
“I… don’t know. That is too deep.”
“Oh.” If he could blink, the lamplighter guessed that’s what would have happened. “I believe you refer to this as work. Do you work on something?”
“I fix lamps. I keep the city lit.”
“Is that important to you?” He pressed on.
“My mother says it is important. It’s useful, I guess.”
“That is a good purpose.”
“Yeah, she says she is proud of me.”
“Proud?”
“Y’know….” He waved his hand, as if it explained itself. It did not. “Uh… maybe you don’t.”
“I’m listening.”
“Mothers always say that. They say they’re proud. She says I do a good job, she says she likes to see me do it. But mothers always do that. It’s like… their purpose I guess.”
“To… be proud? Proud is a feeling?”
“The feeling’s called pride. I guess pride can be good and bad. But… I. Well, I don’t think I wanna give you contradictions. Robots don’t like that.”
The furnace-head took a moment to reply, again.
“I am proud, then? I like to see myself give warmth. I make cats stay. It is good.”
“Yeah, guess you are. You can be proud of yourself.” He scratched his neck, trying to smile at the robot.
“You have a nice lamp. This place is not dark anymore. ”
“Uh… thanks. I wasn’t expecting that.”
“I want to show you that you do a good job. You can be proud too.”
“Huh, if you put it that way… I did a lot today. I don’t think people stop to look at the lights. They just get angry when the crystals stop shining.”
He yawned.
“But it’s… nice when people do see it. The kids love it. And it’s nice that I can visit often. I can see that happiness like it’s the first time too. Doesn’t last long, but it’s… great. I keep saying nice but I know more words.”
“That is fine.” The robot nodded, being probably the first sign of movement for the sake of moving. “Do you want to join?”
“No… I don’t… think there’s enough space.” He rubbed his eyes, as he felt goosebumps on his arms, thinking of going out into the cold. He shook his head slowly, trying to clear his mind.
“Will you visit again?”
“Huh, should I?”
“I will be here.”
“Alright, guess I will.” He gave the robot a thumbs up.
“What is your name?”
“Sebastian. Yours? If you have one… wait, that's rude.”
“Maybe. You can call me Kelvin. ”
“Nice to meet you, Kelvin.”
“Off you go.”
The lamplighter walked up the stairs, watching as another couple of cats made their way down. Kelvin waved goodbye.
