✨ Furina Buffer Build ✨

🌊 I gotta be honest with you, the first time I heard that Furina was gonna have a kit that specialize in draining the entire team's hp, I was a little worried that she'd be difficult to play. In my defense, I don't like characters with hp-draining kit. I've had Hu Tao for the longest time I know, and I've never used her even once. Not for clearing domains, leylines, not even the spiral abyss. I just don't like seeing my character's hp go red, it makes me feel anxious.

🌊 But she was rumored to be a buffer made in heaven for Neuvillette just like Nahida for Alhaitham, so of course I had to get her! I'd do anything to support my man Neuvillette xD

🌊 Disclaimer: This build is not perfect and by no means should be treated as a rigid rule. I just share what I have tested in game and what I know works for me. So always do your own research and take my guide with that note in mind!

Artifact Set

🌊 Furina's BiS would be the Golden Troupe, the new artifact from Fontaine that's not so new anymore now. Despite having a buffer kit, she actually works well as a sub-dps through her skill. She summons 3 salon members that will deal hydro damage to enemies with different time interval. I didn't even expect her skill to deal good damage but it does.

🌊 Aside from Golden Troupe, she can use any combination of hp% set with 2 pc hydro damage or ER. She will need a good amount of ER cuz you want her to burst every rotation. That's where her buff is.

4 pc Golden Troupe

2 pc Golden Troupe, 2 pc hydro damage (HoD/Nymph's Dream)

2 pc Golden Troupe , 2 pc hp% (Tenacity/Vourukasha)

2 pc hydro damage (HoD/Nymph's Dream), 2 pc hp% (Tenacity/Vourukasha)

🌊 Do note that her ER requirement will get lower if you run her in a double hydro team. It can get even lower if the other hydro brings ER weapon such as Favonius. She can also use either hp% or hydro damage goblet, the difference is very small, and just use whichever has the better subtats.

Artifacts stats: hp% sands or ER sands, hp% or hydro damage bonus goblet, crit damage circlet

Ratio to follow: >50% crit rate, >125% crit damage, 150-180% ER, 30.000-40.000 hp (her buff is capped at 40k hp, so make sure not to go overboard)

Team Composition

🌊 Furina can go in so many team comps. Her kit enables any character to be able to use the Fontaine artifacts as she can drain the entire team's hp (which is the requirement to activate 4 pc set Marechaussee Hunter). That being said, it's important to bring a massive healer who can heal the team instantly to maintain her Fanfare stack.

🌊 This stack is important to determine how much buff she can give. The stack can be triggered everytime your team member's hp goes up and down. That's why it's necessary to have a healer ready, unless she's playing with Fontainean character cuz they can easily heal themselves, or if your Furina is C1 as it instantly gives 150 points of Fanfare stack everytime she bursts.

Weapon Choice

🌊 Her signature weapon is actually good if you wanna increase your Furina's personal damage. But it doesn't do a lot for the team, so since this post is about Furina as a buffer, I wouldn't even put her signature weapon here.

Festering Desire (event exclusive weapon)

Fleuve Cendre Ferryman (adds bonus crit rate for skill,

Favonius Sword

Key of Khaj Nisut (hp% benefits her buff)

Primordial Jade Cutter (crit rate stats helps balance the crit ratio, passive adds hp%)

🌊 Like any other support, she has to be able to burst every rotation. Making sure that the buff keeps going will push the team's damage. 60 energy cost is not a lot, but since Furina herself doesn't produce energy particle on her own, she's gonna have to have a little kick in her ER stats. So any kind of ER weapon will do.

Talent Priority

🌊 Obviously go first for her burst, followed by her skill. Ignore her normal attack unless your Furina is C6.

Man its been weeks and I’m still soured by the conclusion to Fontaine’s main story. I'll just rant here

There were a lot of things I didn’t like about it (Arlecchino's altruism being played straight, Traveler being out of character, the lore exposition ass-pull with the prophecy slates, the weird logic about how destroying a Gnosis could potentially wake up the Heavenly Principles but not fucking destroying an Archon Throne when Celestia forced everyone to fight a GODDAMN WAR TO ESTABLISH THEM-) but the biggest offense to me was how Furina was handled. This was marketed as the grand finale of the arc, the climax with Furina at the center of it all. And she got shafted. Big time. Furina had no agency in the plot whatsoever, nothing she did had any effect on how things turned out, and she didn’t even have the dignity of fully understanding why it all had to happen that way.

(Also I will preface this with yes Furina and Focalors are technically the same person with the same origin, but after the split Furina lost all her memories as Focalors. They are two separate consciousnesses with different experiences, and therefore I will treat their individual choices as their own)

I’ve seen people try to argue that no, she chose to take on this role knowing she would suffer, that she didn't HAVE to go along with it. And she was even working by herself to solve the prophecy without relying on Focalors, she wasn’t a puppet/pawn! But the thing is she was essentially in a hostage situation. If she didn’t do things exactly as dictated by Focalors people would DIE. Like there is a reason why criminal punishments are lighter when it’s found the perpetrator was coerced into it! And her researching how to avoid the prophecy changed nothing about the outcome, she could have sat around eating cake and the story would have word for word turned out exactly the same. All that information served to do was highlight her suffering and draw the audience’s sympathy. That's what I mean about her not having agency, it's not about her ability to act as an individual but how her actions had an effect on the overall plot. None of her choices outside of the role designated by Focalors did anything to change the situation for better or worse.

And to top it all off she didn’t even understand WHY this all had to happen. Why do people dissolve in the Primordial water? How does her pretending to be an Archon play into solving the issue? Why can’t she confide in anyone? What the hell is Focalors even doing? She doesn’t learn the answers to any of these until after everything was over, and not even from Focalors’ own mouth, it was relayed to her by Neuvillette.

Speaking of Neuvillette, I’m not gonna lie I’m sorta annoyed at his existence because it felt like Furina was shafted for him. Everything is very tilted in Neuvillette's favor. He gets his powers back, full control over Pneuma/Ousia, final say in trials, the ability to hand out Visions, and just straight up the ability to manipulate life itself. And okay all these things were his to begin with lore-wise, whatever, but he also becomes the "lore important" character after this at Furina's expense. Furina doesn't have her memories as Focalors, she can't tell us anything about how the world works, about Celestia, about what happened 500 years ago. Even though other Archons didn't give us much either for one reason or another, they at least HAVE that knowledge, and are therefore guaranteed to have involvement in future events with the Abyss and Celestia. Furina at the moment, doesn't. Neuvillette has it now. And all that talk about Focalors judging Celestia? Also Neuvillette's job now. And it feels like it was all stolen from Furina from a story-telling perspective because again, she didn't know of the plan to return his powers. She didn't even get to explicitly agree with her other self that he should have them back. The writers really seemed to go out of their way to place him on a pedestal at Furina's expense, which irks the hell out of me.

There are some opportunity for future interludes to turn the current state around, and they probably will since Furina is still being marketed as an Archon, but as it stands I want Fontaine to be over so we can move on to the next disappointment.

As much as I like imagining little Neuvillette being the most chill kid to ever exist, I also like to imagine that he was absolutely feral, especially when Egeria first found him and brought him to the human world

Like yeah, the kid is generally pretty chill, but Egeria brings him within like 200ft of a body of water and he fucking books it to be in the water. Every. Single. Time. He's calm once he's in the water, and calm when he doesn't realise it's nearby, but the second he notices and he's not in the water, that's when he reminds her that he's a dragon that just so happens to be in a human-shaped body

Egeria (and Furina, idc what canon says, she's the older sister in my little headcanon world) constantly have to hold him back for the first few years he's in the human world. He has bitten them on multiple occasions to escape and get into the water. Furina once held him upside down by the ankle to stop him (which was very successful, until Egeria told her to stop because 'you shouldn't hold a child like that')

He grew out of this, and apart from this he was very calm, very chill, very much just vibing with his existence. But this did happen, and Furina will never let him live it down

what are your hsr teams?? i pulled for so many characters and i dont know how to use any of them

i have 3-4 teams built around one main dps so what i run often is

1) acheron, black swan, galladilf and either pela/aven whatever i feel like/need

2) ratio, aven, ruan mei (+ a friends topaz)

3) blade, jingliu, ruan mei, whatever of my sustains or a friends

[ 4) IL dan heng, hanya, pela (+ friends sustains sometimes, i dont really play IL DH often anymore tho other for ruan meis pet boss) ]

i use different teams for other modes ofc (my jing yuan/himeko/etc)

i could help with putting a team together if you could tell me what characters you have to begin with and for what you need the team (jsut regular team, PF, etc)
