hi furblr its been a good long while since ive popped in and made a post here (on old accounts that is) and i wanted to ask a question about a furby im expecting really soon i just bought a jester and he was relatively expensive for me so i want to give him the best treatment possible but the problem is i . dont know how to go about washing him. id assume itd be the normal way but i just wanna make sure ive seen people cut off the hats?? i dont want to damage him in a way i cant fix because hes very special to me (clown autism) so i thought id swing by and ask people who know more about this hobby than the minuscule knowledge i gained from when i was 12

her poor antennae are smashed to bits :( I got her for relatively cheap because of her poor condition. Any ideas on how to potentially repair her antennae, either to restore back to working order or even just aesthetically replacing them??

If y'all paint your furbs beaks/eyes are you sealing the paint??? What are you using??

I used glossy mod podge and it kind of changed the color of the paint on my last project, as well as the beak kind of sticks to itself? I was going to use spray coat but that has acetone in it which I'm worried will eat my paint 😂

My 2000 Spring Furby isn't responding to voice commands or noise at all, and im getting offended with how many times he is calling me boring and sighing 💔 How do I fix him?

I already did the hardware reset, and it did not fix it. He responds to everything I do except for sound.

Honestly, I won't be surprised if he just doesn't like my voice, I've had many problems with my voice not being picked up by microphones 😭

Hi guys. I have some sad new to report. Roadkill has been attacked and is on bedrest until further notice. I left him alone for 5 minutes due to a bathroom emergency, and when I returned, the dogs had attacked him. I managed to rescue him from the attack, but not without injury.

His wings were ripped off of him, and he was covered in dirt and dog slobber… but the worst part was his beak. Not only was the rubber shredded, but the plastic in his top beak was completely gone.

I am really shaken about this as he is my best friend and comfort object. I feel like I am at fault for this, and I am ashamed that I let this happen. If any of you have any helpful info or links please send them my way. I’m still looking for replacement pieces for both the rubber and plastic part of his beak, as well as tutorials on how to fix him without disfiguring him further.

hi update: this thing came in the worst condition ive ever seen and experienced and was filthy when i got it. the push start (the long black gear not the white one. that one just wasnt there for some reason) and reset methods dont work and his faceplate is completely yellow and broken off feom the skin

but! but.

when i put batteries in it and press reset it starts making a high pitched squeaking sound? kinda like how 2012 and furby booms do when theyre connecting to the apps so that might mean something? help me out here gang

FURBLR!

I finally got my first 2 furbies, a 1998 leopard and 1999 baby peachy!

My 1998 furb is working perfectly, but my baby I had to open up and jumpstart. Both are now working though, and I have skinned them, washed and brushed out their fur. Right now they are separated from their skins :’) because ~

I want to get into the art of customizing! Of course they will get little name necklaces but I wanna go further.

However- because they’re working, I’m not sure what I should avoid and leave alone and what would be good things to customize. If anyone has any input, please let me know!

Also any cute theme/name suggestions would be HIGHLY appreciated and welcome! I want to keep their fur colors (don’t wanna deal with dye) so trying to figure out what kinda themes would go well with their coloring I’m finding kinda tricky.

furby tumblr plz help!!

when i put the facial lever back onto my 1999 furby, it just makes him stop? You can see what i mean in the video. He works completely fine without it, but the moment i put the lever in, he just vibrates. I've lubed up his gears countless times, so i know its not that. I've been trying to fix this for about a day and a half now but nothing works.

Any help is greatly appritated!!

So I just got this Furby from an online auction and it arrived today! It’s in surprisingly good condition (not smelly, no matted fur, etc.) except for a couple things. There’s obviously an eyelash missing on one of the eyes and the other eyelash is a bit wonky. I also can’t get the mouth to close, though I don’t know if you’re supposed to be able to do that

Is there anyone who could give some tips on replacing eyelashes or fixing the mouth if that’s something that needs to be fixed? Thanks :))

OMG HE'S ALIVE!

He also reacts to light, it's just a little dark in the room, so he doesn't react to hiding the sensor.

It took 4 days to try to resuscitate him. I even gave up, I wanted to finally leave him, send him to rest, but he worked!

hot glue faceplate mold (with pics!!)

lately i've been thinking of making oddbodies since I got a sewing machine but getting faceplates from etsy or depop is not really accesible for me so I made a faeplate mold out of hot glue and thought it may be useful for someone out there :D

MATERIALS:

- glue sticks (I needed 2 for a mcdonald's keychain size faceplate)

-a pot

-water

-a furby

-paper tape

-flour, baby powder or anything you have to demold

STEPS:

~select the furby you want to replicate the face from.

~once you have your furby cover around its face with paper tape so the fur won't get stuck to the hot glue.

~cover the furby's face with something to make the demolding easier (I used flour because it's what I found)

~now, heat up water in the pot (it's not necessary to boil it) and melt the glue sticks there until they are maleable enough. I used this video as a guide

~once the glue is maleable (careful bc it's hot) cover the furby's face with it pressing enough for it to reach all the nooks and crevices.

-let it cool for a couple minutes

~take the mold out of the furby face and that's it.

now you have a mold to make vegan furby creations :))
