Todays the day I turn ▒▒ years old! Oh. Why would I tell my age? Gotta keep that a secret!

Funny fact, the 20th of April is also the same date as when the prophet of Islam Nabi Muhammad was birthed! Crazy amirite?

But anyways, I've gone through so many things. Both sad and also wonderful. Life sure is full of possibilities isn't it? I'm in a fandom about beans and suddenly I'm in a fandom about a Saturday morning cartoon mario shitpost? Never thought that would happen but it did, somehow.

The thing is, you'll never know what ever happens next! Prepared or not, you'll always be hit with the most unexpected occurrences. And that's the wonder of life! It's what keeps us interested and curious!

It's okay to change. I used to promise to myself that I would always stay in the among us fandom! But look where I am now. I used to think that I was a bad person for doing that, but now I realize that, it's okay! It's not like the end of the world happens when you leave a fandom you've been in for 3 years!

Looking back at old things may be cringe to most, but it's always nice to feel that nostalgia that you haven't felt in a while! It really shows how much you've grown for the past few years!

I used to be really terrible with animation. Like- really ass. But since 2024, my animations have started to become much better! It just takes time and patience. Thing won't always go your way and you shouldn't rush everything! [ Ironic considering that I always rush stuff 💀 ] Taking your time slowly but surely will pay out and you'll have a good result in the end!

Now those few past paragraphs I literally said earlier made no sense whatsoever considering I just talked about life but in a non rearranged order. So I'm sorry for that one 😭

Sukuna remembers you vividly from the past; from that time 1000 years ago. How could he forget? Such a flamboyant character, – power exuded with every step, the earth seeming to shake with every fall of your foot. A wandering swordsman: a rather powerful sorcerer who curiously didn’t belong to any one clan. You’d spend your days traversing the earth, sleeping in the empty shrines near villages, taking commissions and odd jobs from just about everyone– human or not. 

Sukuna found it odd how you didn’t align yourself with the standard belief of sorcerers: you were benevolent to cursed spirits like him, you didn’t have the sudden impulse to exorcize, to destroy. Perhaps it was your lack of loyalty to a clan, or the fact that curses could offer prices just as good– if not better, than humans. Either way, it was quite interesting when you crossed paths for the first time; him, the terrifying, all powerful King of Curses, – four arms and two grotesque faces, towering over you, a humble traveler, – and you just stood there, – smiling, at him, – the rumored monster of Ryomen Sukuna. 

He was absolutely astounded, – had this guy not an ounce of fear? The singlest shred of self-preservation? You should be screaming– running, – begging at his feet for mercy, – not making small talk 

“Nice weather, huh?”

“Excuse me? It’s pouring” 

“Oh, I hadn’t noticed 😋” 

He could sense a staggering amount of cursed energy from you, much more than the average sorcerer– let alone human. 

“Nice jugs btw” 

“???” 

Bud was flabbergasted – he could only watch you walk away with a big grin on your face. Later that evening he had to bring it up to Uruame, who was cooking up the latest harvest of human bones: 

“He said you had a nice chest.” 

“Huh, usually one would think to say that to a woman–” 

“Perhaps the sorcerer thought you were a woman”

“What.” 

Ever since he’s had an affinity for you, a fascination… an obsession. He needed to know everything about you, – your goal, your motives, your desires, your deepest and darkest of fears, – the most depraved of thoughts of this strange sorcerer who had the gaul to compliment his chest like he was some kind of street whore. 

He ran into you the next day at the same village, just as you were about to leave. You acted so nonchalant, like he was just another acquaintance, it was truly fascinating and… dare Sukuna say, endearing. He initially went there to kill you for your audacity from yesterday, yet he ended up only shit-talking the village folk wit you, – the old swordsmith who swore there were devils living in his chimney, - the old woman by the creek who was rumored to drown passerbys in the water next to her tiny abode, - the sleezy thug of a priest who thought it was funny to scam you for cleaning his shrine free of charge (whom Sukuna ended up gutting shortly afterwards). The curse was left to, yet again, return back to Uruame with new rantings of you

(just let them cook in peace 😭)

The next day, a band of those pesky Zenin showed up, – and Sukuna thought the opps were on him again. Turns out, not only were you not apart of any specific clan, but you were also quite unpopular with a majority of sorcerer society. After finding out, Sukuna couldn’t help but rush to your aid, determined to cleave the gang of sorcerers in half for trying to harm such an interesting specimen of his. Imagine his utmost surprise to find them not only beat upon his arrival, but diced up and dead on the forest floor, too. 

He was beyond impressed: a seeming clanless nobody such as yourself had chopped down about a dozen of one of the most powerful sorcerers of the time. You saw him staring from afar, waving and flashing that stupidly charming smile of yours. Sukuna couldn’t help but invite you back with him, the dozen dead bodies in tow 

Uruame cooked up a mighty fine dinner that night, one the three of you enjoyed together (yum, human flesh). From that day on you were part of the gang: you, Sukuna, and Uruame. Most days you would be off for up to months at a time, simply doing your own thing, going town to town. Whenever you’d run into your good pal as he was burning down the latest village you’d make sure to have a nice catch up over a warm meal (cooked by Uruame)

You and Uruame got along, – they liked the fact that you could often cook together, Sukuna– being useless as shit in the kitchen – was barred from helping lest he incinerate everything 

But alas, you were mortal, fickle; temporary, – and no sooner did you come into his existence were you cruelly ripped from him, – finally effectively jumped and killed. 

Sukuna almost couldn’t believe it: you never lost- you weren’t supposed to lose, but you did. You fought valiantly, taking an impressive number down with you. In the skirmish, Uruame disappeared, Sukuna was reduced almost to dust,-- miraculously he survived, albeit incredibly weak. They sealed a majority of his power away in his severed fingers. 

Now, weakened immeasurably and down a pair of arms, – momentarily without his chef and darling sorcerer, Sukuna had a change in heart

No longer did he want to be the bad guy, he wanted to be good, to help others, – to help the future of jujutsu sorcery (nah, that’s some bullshit, he just wanted to continue being fed, and he could only be if he became a teacher in sorcery, lol)

Flash forward to modern day…

Seeing you once again, reborn, was a complete whiplash for Sukuna. 

You recognized him immediately, obviously, – he was your man after all <3 (even if he denied it) 

Poor baby had to physically restrain himself when he saw you back to kicking ass as a modern day jujutsu sorcerer, having not changed an ounce since he last remembered you

You miss his four arms, – almost more than Sukuna did. It disappointed Sukuna to see you disappointed with his lack of arm power. Still, he only needed two arms to absolutely destroy you--

After the incident with Yuji Itadori accidentally consuming one of his fingers (which made Sukuna livid– blud has been sweating and grinding to get those fingers back, and to find out some random goofy ahh kid decided to munch on one? And they wanna give him MORE??) – Sukuna has been absorbed more than ever into his work. 

You adore his students, – especially Megumi, Nobara and Yuji – (much to Sukuna’s dismay) and oftentimes will stop by his lessons just to bug him in front of them 

You were still the same insufferable charmer as before, shamelessly batting your eyes and making crude comments to catch him off guard: 

“Hey cutie ;) “ 

“Hell do you want” he sneers, “wish to be my example for today’s lesson?” 

“Nah, just passing by, – those pants make your ass look fat by the way” 

“What.”

“Toodles !!” 

It infuriated him, much to your delight 

It was different now, back then it was just you and him, Uruame bearing the only witness to your shenanigans. But when you say those things in front of those brats, – the same brats who were taught to fear and despise his kind, who were suppose to be intimidated by him, – it makes his job of maintaining the tough, snide “King of Curses” just that much harder 

Yuji, with all the time he spent with Sukuna as his main mentor, would ask about you frequently: what you were like 1,000 years ago. Whether it was the nostalgia or purely the fact it was you, – talking about it always softened Sukuna’s grueling and harsh belittling. Poor Yuji could only catch a break when Sukuna started saying “Back in my day..”

“Sukuna-sensei?”

“What, brat?” Sukuna paused, casting an unimpressed glare over his shoulder 

Yuji propped his head onto a fist, leaning on the desk in front of him. The empty classroom was dimming with the setting sun, the vibrant colors that always made Sukuna wanna barf invaded through the windows from the sunset, painting the empty classroom a colorful ombre, 

“You said that odd man who likes to hang around you was around 1,000 years ago, right?” 

Sukuna’s eyebrows scrunch in annoyance, “Yes, and?” 

“What was he like? Does he act the same as all those years ago? How’d he get reborn? What was your relationship like?” The curse wanted to punt the kid across the room with all his silly questions. Instead, – knowing you’d dislike it if he hurt Yuji, – he opted to take a deep breath, air hissing through his teeth, before answering, 

“Mm, you brats are so invasive, – the world doesn’t revolve around you selfish vermin.” sighing, “but fine, I’ll entertain whatever silly fantasy you have about me in your head; he was a sorcerer, a pretty damn strong one, too”

“But you didn’t kill him-” Yuji interjects, confused 

“No, I didn’t” 

“Why, were you two good friends.?”

He growled at the quantity of the questions, causing Yuji to scoot back in his seat slightly, 

“No– well, sort of. I’d assume you could say that.” 

“No-? Really? Kugisaki thinks you two are dating” 

Sukuna’s jaw almost drops to the floor, 

“What.” 

“Yeah, – Fushiguro says you two were together back then too, with the way you look at each other”

With the way he-? 

“Was he your like… private prostitute or something?” 

Sukuna has never heard such fuckery before:

“No. – I’d suggest you’d stop wherever you think you’re going with this, brat.” 

“Did you bang though?” 

That threw him for a loop, and Sukuna couldn’t help but wince at the term. “Banging” was a poor choice of words, – such a word couldn’t possibly do what you two did justice. 

No, you didn’t “bang”

Sukuna couldn’t help but be drawn in by you, – your attitude, your carefree-ness, your power, he wanted it all for himself, – which he sometimes did 

Those endless nights of pleasure where’d he just lose himself in you, - your affectionate caresses, your sweet nothings whispered into his ear that cast shivers all throughout. Sukuna was used to hearing praise showered upon his name, – his devotees throwing themselves at his feet to worship the ground he walked on. But he didn’t care for their praise, – not like he did yours. Your kind words were treasured, craved. If only you had been a woman: he would’ve made you a concubine, – no, – his wife.

His ego is fragile, witnessing you tearing apart his terrifying image horrifies him. 

Unfortunately for Sukuna, you couldn’t stop dotting on your pretty princess :3 It all came to a boiling point when you saw one of his colleagues start to cuddle up just the littlest bit too close: and he just let them. Seeing Mei Mei acting so clingy with the King made something in the pit of your stomach drop. Your envy boiled, sour and ripening into an ugly weed. It was obvious she held no actual affections (because one, – Mei Mei only lives for cold, hard cash, – which Sukuna didn’t really have on him, which was odd— and two, he was way too old for her tastes)

You just couldn’t help yourself, – he was wearing such a tight shirt, it hid nothing. 

“Yo, nice tits”

He was done. You were done sullying his name with your filthy words, – you were done humiliating him. And he made sure you knew that too

He had pulled you into his empty classroom, all the students and staff long gone. Sukuna towered over you, cold glare sending a delicious shivering cascading through your body, 

“Enough.” 

“Eh..?” you wince, your voice sounded all wrong, too high pitch and breathy, “enough of what?” 

Your damn smile again. 

“You know exactly what I’m talking about. Your humiliation is not appreciated.” 

You scoff, “humiliation?” 

He glares, “silence, brat” he firmly grabs ahold of your chin, forcing it upwards, making you look him directly in those creepy, maroon eyes. 

One moment Sukuna has his emotions underwraps: he’s focused, – locked in, – he’s not going to let something as fickle as human ‘love’ hinder his plans. The more assertive the better, he would not be walked on – but he also didn’t want to accidentally lash out and do something he ends up regretting 

The next thing he knows, Sukuna starts spiraling, 

“You insist on following me, stalking me for over 1,000 years, – it’s pathetic” wait- what? No, he didn’t mean it like that

“--you mortal brats are as measly as ever, it’s no wonder you died to your own kind” pause, no, no, no, no, no….-- what was he doing? He didn’t actually mean that- 

“--killed by fellow sorcerers: pathetic. Dead and reborn, you’re still the desperate mutt crawling back to me..” Stop. Make it stop. Someone stop him. Stop/

Sukuna is reminded of the times back then: you laying in the field, hand twining in his hair, lightly scraping his scalp, – him sighing in content like an old dog. There would be the half eaten corpse of some unfortunate sorcerer off to the side, and you’d occasionally hand feed one or two limbs to the second mouth on his stomach, tongue out and awaiting like a dog’s for a treat  —Such tender moments, the power you have over him makes him feel weak in the knees. Every instinct within him told Sukuna to run, - to protect himself from this threat that was your adoration. The thrill gnawed at him from the inside, – but oh, the ecstasy from it felt so good. 

But he was Ryomen Sukuna, the King of Curses – he couldn’t face having such an open weakness – taking on a lover would feel like he had gutted himself, taking away a fundamental aspect of his existence as a character. You just have to keep stoking the flames. ,

DRDT is back!!! Here’s my live reaction to everything that happened this week! Obviously take everything I say with massive piles of salt, these are in the moment reactions and aren’t supposed to be fully coherent thoughts.

DRDT CH2 EP12 SPOILERS (Oh that feels good to write)

We’re back!!! Teruko we fucked up!!!

The theory that Charles was going to bring up the possibility of a wrong time of death was true! There weren’t really any other theories about what he was going to say from what I saw, but it’s still cool we got that right. You have no idea how giddy I am to finally hear him talk about it, after waiting so long for him to finish the sentence lol.

Also Teruko’s face lmao.

Oh, poor Teruko, she looks so sad. She’s gonna bring up the marks on the wrist, right?

Or, yeah, the swinging.

(Does this screw up any theories? No, her body was still likely strung up at 7:30 AM, which is what most people thought I’m pretty sure)

Ah, Whit. I missed how shady he always is even when he has, like, an airtight alibi for the time the fish were taken (which is still around 7:30 PM to nightime btw, don’t forget Nico’s account).

They’re not gonna bring up the time the fish were taken, are they? That furthers my belief that the person who took the fish and the murderer are different. Nothing concrete obviously, just kinda narratively works better that way.

One point that I brought up was that several important people to this chapter have been called “a good person”, and one of the examples I gave was Hu calling David a good person. Which… I don’t think happened? I evidently misremembered a line where Hu called David a “good friend”, which is a different phrase with different connotations in DRDT, and I genuinely apologize for that. Especially because I have seen people repeating that David had been called a good person in the past.

But now David has called himself “a good person”, if in a roundabout way, so the point actually stands lol.

… He was trying to kill Teruko wasn’t he. Because Xander tried it, and because David has Teruko’s “the killing game is all your fault” motive. Oh shit.

Speaking of the “good person” point, that argument might actually be dead lmao. Given that Xander got called that and he’s, well. Not particularly important to chapter 2, let’s say.

[Hindsight Post-Video: Actually, the argument could now be “anyone referred to as a good person is deeply important up to chapter 2”. Or, alternatively, argue that Xander is somewhat important to the Chapter 2 trial because he inadvertently caused David to magical girl transform. The “good person” list in case you don’t recall is Teruko, Levi, Eden, Arei, and as of this episode, David and Xander. We’ll see what we make of it once the chapter ends ig]

Okay wow the new alibis are like, laser focused on going against the most popular theories, huh? I’m not going to say anything’s deconfirmed yet obviously, but Hu!Culprit, J!Culprit, even Veronika!Culprit and theories surrounding David being involved have some questions to answer damn.

Levi!Accomplice also takes a hit because Eden and Levi aren’t trying to alibi for each other, but it can be explained. If they never prepared to give each other alibis, it’s safer to just… not, since they can’t actually say what they were doing during that time. And yes, possible explanations like this is why I’m not calling anything outright deconfirmed yet.

I wrote that before Levi three dotted directly after Eden, looking like he was thinking of trying to give her an alibi. Now that’s confirmation bias that can’t be safely used for theories!

General Closing Thoughts: This episode was awesome! I was lowkey a little worried that the first episode back wasn’t going to be as insane as it ended up being, but wow it blew me away. And it was only twenty minutes? When the episodes go up to possibly an hour??? It’s just… holy shit.

It was awesome to finally start getting some insight into why David Did That, and I’m genuinely super excited to see where this goes. I’m still trying to figure out the exact angle on things like hiding Teruko’s secret, if he even is doing that because I now believe there is a non-zero chance he isn’t actually lying. Like, it’s low, but not zero. I do find it strange Veronika didn’t react to it, though, but at least we got that one line before David started talking.

But that’s only the cusp of the iceberg. I genuinely adore the details we got on Arturo’s backstory, and Hu’s blowup, and Teruko’s remorse- it’s all so awesome.

(The fucking dent in the wall of the goddamn computer room got an explanation I still cannot believe that. Wow)

Props to the voice acting and the music btw, absolutely incredible all throughout.

Btw, correct me if I’m wrong, but there weren’t any “minigames” this episode, right? Nothing wrong with that, just found it interesting.

Theory-Related Initial Thoughts: This episode is… possibly one of the biggest theory slaughters I’ve ever seen?

Like, obviously, again, it’s still too early in the trial to fully rule out anything, so I’m going to leave it to the other DRDT scholars to revise their own theories to fit the new evidence, but wow those new alibis are something. Between Hu, J and David having alibis for 7:30 AM, that’s three of the top suspects who weren’t there at that exact time to either kill Arei or mess with the body. Again, maybe there’s explanations for it, I’m not calling anything unconfirmed yet, just that many theories were inconvenienced.

As for my theory, Eden!Culprit Levi!Accomplice… ups and downs. The more Eden speaks, the less I’m convinced she’s the actual culprit, even if I’m a decent 80% sure she took the tape; the more Levi speaks, the less I’m convinced he’s an accomplice. I’m not going to deny that their dialogue isn’t 100% what I would expect. I don’t think it’s disqualifying, I still believe it to be the theory with the best evidence, it’s just that some things strike me as odd.

That was what I thought… until the end. Because I have no idea what’s about to happen with Levi revealing the secret like this, but… there is a very possible Levi!Accomplice turn here? Like, it’s the “Levi’s holding the glove” idea; the moment Eden loses her alibi, Levi does something that immediately puts a target on his back, potentially trying to get himself voted off before people catch on to Eden as a possible culprit. First he tries to argue that he shouldn’t be a suspect because of the alibi thing, which could make him more suspicious in some people’s eyes (maybe that’s too much 4D chess but it could work), then revealing the secret. I don’t know how likely this is, but it’s a genuine possibility.

Otherwise, I’m… not entirely sure what the angle is? I need to rewatch the trial to figure out why Levi’s talking about “detailing the trial” then immediately revealing his secret. I didn’t rewatch any DRDT before the episode, hence the confusion. But… at this moment, I don’t know what Levi’s cooking, other than possibly accomplice behavior. And even that feels more confirmation bias-y than anything.

There’s also the really weird line where Whit just… knows, Charles had no alibi at 7:30 AM? Unless they discussed it or I’m forgetting something, I don’t actually remember how he’d know that? Was he stalking Charles? Was he just wandering the halls? What kinda-?

(I don’t think that’s likely, but I don’t have a really good read on what’s happening there)

Other than that, here’s a crackpot one to lighten the mood. Mastermind business. I’ve never brought this up before, but I’ve always believed that were Veronika to be the mastermind, she would get revealed early. As in, possibly at the end of this trial, given Teruko had some idea to end the killing game after her chat with Veronika in the movie room.

I’m bringing this up only because Veronika didn’t react to David’s explanation of what he was trying to do by claiming to be the blackened. She was set up for a reaction with the whole “please tell me it’s not boring” thing, and then she… didn’t. It’s possible, in a conspiratorial sense, that she didn’t react because David hit the nail in the head, and Veronika was genuinely upset at the idea. If that’s the case, her reaction could be postponed to the end of the trial, maybe the end of Trial 3, for the early mm reveal there. It’s a very half-baked idea I’m failing to communicate properly ‘cuz I’m eepy, but it’s there.

I rank it in the same level of mastermind evidence as “Nico is unafraid of grabbing MonoTV by the tail.” Immensely silly and should not be considered solid evidence by any means, and yet it’s still probably gonna get mentioned if I ever make a mm probability ranking lol.

One thing I really love and appreciate about Zac is how he's genuinely kind AND confident at the same time, like, usually with famous characters in kid media, they are either fake asf and are assholes in secret, or are in reality really shy and insecure about themselves in some way and Zac is neither of that, like in his debut episode (I think) his whole "Even if you can't outshine me since I'm the brightest star, that doesn't mean you don't deserve to shine your best !!" thing IS SO ADORABLE TO ME ILISM, like even during his rivalry with Akira, he doesn't really have much asshole-ish moments (at least that I remember) bro is kinda a breath of fresh air

He's also genuinely funny imo, his one sided beef with Wakiya needs to be talked about more istg, and I am NOT letting y'all forget "The Masked Blader" that shit was hillarious, I love it, AND THE WAY HE'S EXTRA PLAYFUL AROUND TOKO AND NIKA IS SO ADORABLE I CAN'T

Guess what game I just finished!!!

I dont have a lot to say on this because I think over the past 20 years people have already said enough.

But... MY GOD! The level of variety, creativity, and fresh ideas each chapter brings holy SHITTTT!!! One moment you're going underground with a cute goomba girl, then you're fighting a dragon, then you're playing a World 1-1 recreation with BOWSER! Then you're playing as Peach who has this deeply emotional and sad relationship with an AI (Tec is the goat, I love that ai. Top 10 ai in fiction idc), then you're doing a tournament arc AND THEN YOU'RE DOING A TRAIN MYSTERY OH MY GOODNESS!!!!

The combat is really fun and charming, THE DIALOGUE IS SO WELL WRITTEN AND I LAUGHED MULTIPLEEEEE TIMES!!! I love the characters, I love the world, I love the art style, i love most of the boss fights, the music is banging (I played with the original ost), God there's so much to love.

I will say, the final chapter of this game did kinda drag on, and there's so many points where I was thinking "okay NOW I get to fight the final boss!" And it takes another hour to get to them.... there's so many obvious signs of padding (copy and pasted hallways, a trash "pick the right door" puzzle, etc.)

I also didn't like how when you swapped partners that counts as a turn, i feel like you should be able to swap without wasting a turn because it would help with the flow of combat and make using Goombella's tattle less of a fucking pain...

Also....

VIVIAN IS SO FUCKING CUTE!!! I LOVE HER SO MUCH!!! SHE'S MY FAVOURITE PARTNER BY FARRRRR!!!!! Goombella is really cute too and she has amazing dialogue. I love the storyline of Admiral Bobbery too and that stuff made me cry... but...EEEEE I LOVE VIVIAN!!!!

4. Koops.

I like him! He helped me out a LOTTT in the final battle, his later moves that you can unlock make him pretty damn good. Although I am jealous that this wimp has a girlfriend....

3. Admiral Bobbey.

Honestly I think the reason why he might be this high is because of his story. I really felt bad for him... his design is also killer, I LOVEEEE Bob-ombs so much!

2. Mini-Yoshi.

The fact that you can name him is really funny to me idk why. He's got some very helpful moves and his ability to help you move faster in the overworld is really nice. I like how he calls you Gonzalez too. What a fun character man.

it's so hard for me to think of what any of my personal GOTY picks might be this year, because every time I think about one of the really kickass games I played/beat for the first time this year (that's what I'm going off of btw, not release date) I then have to remember "oh right I also played Pseudoregalia in like. February. and then proceeded to play it 90 more times, including once yesterday. I think there's some compelling evidence that I might've liked that game a little bit more than this other stuff" lol

...that being said, I think my other top contenders for stuff I played during 2024 would be (in no particular order):

- Noita (obviously. I can't believe I ALSO didn't start playing this until early January, it feels like it's been way longer. funny wizard explode)

- Cavern of Dreams (easily one of the best attempts I've ever seen to recreate not only the visual style of an N64 game, but the precise FEELING of playing one as a kid and exploring for weird secrets)

- the Paper Mario TTYD remake (I ended up going for 100% on this one, it's honestly some of the most fun I've EVER had streaming a game. I've never seen a remake knock it out of the park this hard, this shit is absolutely packed full of loving detail)

- Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope (I haven't quite finished it yet but I'm confident in including it here. friendship ended with Fire Emblem, I actually just need more of whatever this is)

- Zelda: Ultimate Trial (an OoT romhack that has no business being as good as it is. I jokingly called it "the Undertale Yellow of Zelda fangames" when I finished it and honestly I still stand by that)

- uhhh sure I guess Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom can go on here too (it's not a new series favorite or anything but it was still a ton of fun and I loved collecting funny Zelda monsters like Pokemon lol. very solid dungeon/puzzle design too, a real return to form)

and I guess if you want my LEAST favorite games of 2024 I'll include those too but put them under a cut:

- Corn Kidz 64 (kinda janky and imprecise controls coupled with overly punishing platforming, a really unsatisfying sense of progression, and humor and general vibes that I just found to be kinda rancid and offputting overall)

- Penny's Big Breakaway (I was SO excited to play this one, but was really disappointed. the level design is just kinda baffling and frequently makes you waste time doing side objectives for no reward or loops you back on yourself, the controls are weird and make it extremely easy to misinput and die accidentally, and it constantly throws score/combo elements in your face but nearly every move you can do will instantly take away all of your momentum unless it's 100% perfect. I couldn't even force myself to finish this one. at least the music whips ass tho)

- Zelda II: The Adventure of Link (I've started and quit this one many times but this year I forced myself to play it to completion on my switch, making liberal use of savestates. it didn't help that much. I wrote a whole reflection earlier this year about the ambitious and interesting stuff this game tried to do and why it never quite works - I think I only posted it on cohost, I should probably retrieve that before it gets deleted)

- Dr Robotnik's Ring Racers (listen if you didn't have any attachment to SRB2 Kart before this "sequel" came out then I probably can't really explain to you why I loathe this thing so much in terms of actual design differences. all I WILL say is that I'm furious we got this, which is a completely different fucking game that's super overtuned to solely appeal to a very specific kind of highly technical player niche and scare everyone else away, as a REPLACEMENT for just getting a goddamn update to add CPUs to SRB2 Kart. it's all I ever wanted, and now because they turned that update into DRRR instead, I will never get it)

also I just think it's funny to put it in perspective here that I'm choosing NOT to put Donkey Kong 64 on this list, which I did 101% complete earlier this year. so that's the bar, anything on my Least Faves list is stuff I enjoyed less than the experience of streaming the entirety of DK64. I really did have more fun beating Beaver Bother 3 times than playing Corn Kidz. I don't know what that says about me

But in all seriousness, I love how they care for each other and how they help eachother grow and heal.

I want to quickly point that while I like Shakadolin as a romantic ship I prefer them as Adolin and Shallan being in a romantic relation and having platonic friendship with Kaladin. But what I'm about to say is fits with both romantic and platonic versions so kinda whatever

Anyway, like I said, the way they help one another and bring the best out of eachother gets me everytime.

The chasms scenes in WoR, how Shallan was able to bring some humor out of Kaladin (come on, he started cracking jokes at Dalinar when they were back, that was so funny), how her story helped Kaladin to see that the lighteyes people are not free from suffering either. How they could bond over their traumas and be honest with eachother about their pasts.

I love how Adolin and Kaladin relation progresses, how they started as rivals and became close friends with time. THE DUEL and how it changed their dynamic. How Adolin instantly believed Kaladin about Amaram when no other lighteyes ever did. Everything about Kaladin and Adolin is just >>>>>>>

I don't think I was ever this invested in a fictional friendship before.

How much Adolin cares for both Shallan and Kaladin and their worsening mental health and how much he's trying to help them heal. He was just so caring and sweet in tRoW.

I love Adolin and Shallan, they are great as a couple but the also work very good as friends, please their dialogs are so funny.

I really hope that we'll get some content with the trio in Stormlight 5 but based on the set up we're left with after tRoW it probably won't be much (if any at all). Come on Brandon they need to talkkkkkkk, I need them all to hug please please please.

When it comes to fanart, I don't have a favourite piece, most of the Shakadolin art I saw are great, I love them all.

Guys I've had a breakthrough!!!!

I've been using LOA or whatever you might call it, affirmed the shit out of my ass for like 3 days now when I wake up, when I go to sleep and affirmation tape while I sleep.

And last night, I was really living in the state of "the wish fulfilled" and honestly I don't even know how to explain how that is because when people write about it (like I'm doing rn) I didn't understand it, but maybe this post can help you?

For me the feeling was almost dreamy, no I didn't sit and visualize my DR for the entire thing, I was scrolling on my phone actually /⁠ᐠ⁠｡⁠ꞈ⁠｡⁠ᐟ⁠\

What I actually did was that I put on a few songs and visualized my DR for maybe about 10-20 minutes? Legit just doing mundane things, and tried to embody who I am in that awareness (aka think like you think in that awareness) "Oh wow this soup tastes nice"

"Can that bro just shut up?" "Honestly **** would be so much better looking without those ****"

Just normal ahh thoughts and I visualized that I was wearing headphones like I was in my CR and was listening to the same music and scrolling through my phone. And I went back to my room and just laid down on my bed and started DAYDREAMING LIKE I WOULD DO IN MY DR, AND I MINGLED MY THOUGHTS TOGETHERRRRRR

Like bring as much similarities as you can to your CR to make that connect you get what I mean?????

Also start thinking that your DR is still there even if you're not paying attention to it! ITS REAL, ITS "ALIVE"

And after that I just opened my eyes and was like "I'm in my DR, scrolling through my phone" and just fixated on that feeling. Oh cute top on Pinterest? "Wow that would look cute on *insert person from DR*". I laughed at what was funny and just acted like that person. And I was legit just on my phone until 2 AM practically doom scrolling but in my DR self?

And when I got to go to sleep I just affirmed that I was in my DR and to not stress it because why are you stressing over something that you already have???

(Oh btw while I was scrolling on Pinterest yesterday while in that state, I think I shifted??? Because a pin next to the one that I looked at and returned back to home had changed!!! It only changed colors though but still I was so freaked cause I looked up and down for the one that I saw but it wasn't there? (⁠☉⁠｡⁠☉⁠)⁠! And also I didn't really give a damn because I affirmed that I have shifted thousands of times and don't really fixiate on "I wanna shift" BECAUSE IVE ALREADY SHIFTED THOUSANDS OF TIMES TO MY DR)

But when I woke up and saw my CR I just affirmed that I already had shifted to my DR and was just back for whatever sake!!! -⁠ᄒ⁠ᴥ⁠ᄒ⁠-

Now it's the next day and I'm still just affirming and partially being in the wish fulfilled state?

Well I took a nap after a heavy meal and had a lucid dream. Before I fell asleep I had an affirmation tape going and affirmed a bit that I was in my DR and again tried to embody as much as I wanted to and honestly ended with the thought of "why am I trying so hard??? I'm a master shifter bro, I can shift with a command and I'm legit already in my DR so why am I stressing?" And fell asleep after fighting my overthinking୧⁠(⁠＾⁠ ⁠〰⁠ ⁠＾⁠)⁠୨

But why was my dream so annoying????

I was chilling with my best friends family when I noticed that I was in a dream and laid down on the ground and started trying to flipping shift and my overthinkness was controlling my dream bruh? T-T

hello everyone. i started skating in february, joined a beginner adult team in mid-march, and i had my fifth (?) scrimmage today. here are some (mostly embarrassing) things that happened: - i shot on a goalie for the first time, she saved it (obviously, because it was the softest shot ever) and i got flustered and laughed and said "thanks" as i went past. i did not know what else to say. i felt like i had to say something, because that's ... almost an interaction? so that's going to be replaying in my mind for the next week - today was the first time i hopped over the boards and immediately lost my footing. i knew it was gonna happen eventually. as i am not a quiet person, i made a very loud, startled noise as i fell. the icing on the cake is that one of the girls on my team (from the other defensive pair) looked over the boards and went, "nice." i can't get over how funny this must've looked from the bench. just because i fell like a bag of bricks and it was so sudden and i actually ended up on my back looking at the lights - i got checked into the boards (on accident). i was told that it looked/sounded bad but i honestly was fine. i was more embarrassed about the fact that the whole scrimmage stopped while i got up. i also didn't know if i should try to make a line change afterwards because i was kinda just waiting for something to start hurting (adrenaline & all that), so i just stood there for a second and looked lost. - someone got my stick between their knees somehow in front of the net. it got wrenched out of my hand and part of it ended up in the goal 😭 - i had to explain to the other defender on my line that no, i was not trying to be on her side of the ice on purpose, i just suck at stopping and i end up in random places as a result. she was very understanding. i think she thinks i'm a little stupid because i JUST saw her yesterday and i still introduced myself to her on the bench. i was like "i'm ren btw" and she was like "i know :)" my team is the sweetest and most endearing group of people but by god if i'm not cementing my identity here as "team idiot" then i don't know WHAT i'm doing. and i'm kinda ok with that

So

With how I watched Miracle Universe yesterday, I obviously finished both KiraPre and Hugtto, so here are my final thoughts on them

(Major spoilers for every part of both seasons under the cut)

Kira Kira Precure A La Mode:

First of all like with all seasons I really love the major differences between all the main characters , but something I especially love about them is how well they go together to create the sillier and more homely vibe of the season, with Ichika, Himari, and Aoi having a sibling-like dynamic and Yukari & Akira being like second mothers to them

And furthermore I also love Yukari and Akira in general because oh my god they’re so cool. Yukari especially because I love how she’s always so collected and chill and one step ahead of everything, but also literally every Akira-centric episode feels like something out of a Fairy Tale and she literally turns her wand into a sword at some point which went hard as fluff. And the reveal that the person Yukari loves most outside of the KiraPati is her fans was so cute. And that one episode where Yukari turns into a cat was so peak and I NEED to see someone write a fanfiction about the 3-Star Kitty learning the truth about his boss because omg seeing him grieving her was so sad

Also I love how Yukari’s arc from the start had so many layers to it that are gradually unpacked one-by-one in all the episodes centered around her. By the time the episode about her perfectionism rolled around I already figured they were probably gonna be addressing that /vpos

And secondly I really loved the villains. First of all I love Gummy & Co. (Especially the spinny one omg I love her so much I wanna pick her up and cover her face in kiss marks) and the way they’re all just some guys after their belts are broken and I especially love how they took on the responsibility of finding and returning all the lost Fairies. I really hope there’s a spinoff about that at some point

And regarding Noir’s servants, outside of the way that they all mirror Star Twinkle villains (With Julio being like Kappard, Grave being like Tenjou, and Vibry being like Eyewon), Julio is the coolest general I’ve ever seen and literally every scene centered around him goes so hard. And I initially wasn’t expecting to think of Vibry the same way but her freakouts in the island episode and everything she does in Lumiere’s debut episode completely blew me away. And both of them are even better when they’re redeemed. Though it kinda sucks that Julio couldn’t have been a Sixth Ranger Cure

And aside from that Grave was also really cool in that one episode where he absorbs Diable’s power and the Precure have to unlock the Fantastic Animale to defeat him. However Diable himself kinda sucked after they turned him into average furrybait

And then of course at the top of them all is Elisio, who carries the moral dilemma of the season and has the final battle and can do the Noir Morphose and is just generally the coolest conceptually. But I still like Julio more

And then there’s the music which I love every second of. It’s like the more childish pop-up storybook vibe of the artstyle in audible form. And it has all the coolest battle music

And the story which is really funny to me because of how good it is. Like there are several times throughout my commentary where I jokingly said “This is all still about sweets btw” because I love the absurdity of the devs being able to tell a deep-cutting story about love and connection and individuality and the different, increasingly worse and worse things hatred will do to a person through the lense of sweets. It kinda reminds me of Onegai My Melody and Jewelpet Kira Deco but instead of telling a serious story in a goofy world with goofy lore, the story is just centered around a goofy concept

While there were some writing choices that cheesed me off sometimes, I would recommend that people watch this season overall just for that alone

Overall, 8/10. There are quite a few things I would’ve done better but it doesn’t suck and the endearing vibe and absurdity of the story being as good as it is sells it well enough for me

HUGtto! Precure:

First of all something I love about Hugtto’s characters is that they aren’t anything crazy. Like they’re literally just a buncha guys and gals hanging out having fun doing guy and gal stuff and I love how that makes it feel more real. And how that fits with this season being centered around the future

More specifically though I love Hana & Co and all their dynamics, Harry included. Star Twinkle may be my favorite season in general but they’re my favorite Cures. And their Cure designs are so so so pretty omg

And in the way of Fairies,

Tbh I actually didn’t really like Harry that much at first because he didn’t have anything that really made him stand out to me but him becoming a human for most of the time made me like him a lot more. And made his hamster form moments a lot cuter

And of course I love Hugtan because how could you not

Abd the devs for this season absolutely knocked it out of the park in the villains department holy schnitzel. Criasu Corp as a concept is cool enough but like everyone’s Oshimaidaa summoning animations and the vastly different themes of them all and the way they all represent different struggles in society that may cause someone to give up (Charareet being constant failure, Papple being loneliness and depression, Gelos being crushed under the weight of being a woman in a misogynistic society, Doctor Trauma thinking he’s too old to have a future, Bishin losing a loved one, and Ristol not having anyone to help him through a hard time. And Daigon is just a bitch idk why he did any of that)

I already liked all of them enough when they were villains and on top of that I liked them so much more when they were reformed. I love Purified Charareet and Doctor Traum so much. And the song that plays when they make an appearance has such a nice “Calm after the storm” vibe to it

And then in the way of story I of course enjoyed every second of that too because Oh My God™️. The way all the villains become Oshimaidaas allowed for some really cool scenes and some of my favorites. Papple’s transformation being a metaphor for suicide made her one of my favorite villains, and the way that Gelos’ underlings turn into a fucked up amalgamation was really disturbing but in a cool and interesting way, and I love how Gelos herself did a repeat of that in her transformation

But most of all I of course love how Doctor Trauma’s transformation took place along the course of an ENTIRE ALL STARS MOVIE that’s part of the main story and just casually sitting between Episode 35 & 38. And Hugtto has an actual All Stars movie on top of it

And not to mention the lore with the twist of humanity’s future being of their own making and Criasu Corp having originally been founded to help them and the things they did to the Hariharis in an attempt to help them survive and how Cure Tomorrow AKA Future!Hugtan kept them at bay when they lost their way

And Homare’s crush on Harry was kinda unnecessary but tbf it gave us the Bishin vs Homare beef and that started with a really cool battle at the end of a really cool episode

And of course the music is cool as always. I especially love that song that plays after the final battle where a person’s voice is singing the main theme as the sun rises

Overall, 10/10. Any complaints I had for this season were solved later on in the story and everything outside of them was already cool enough to make up for them anyway

I was originally planning to watch Yes 5 next but since Maho Tsukai II comes out next year and the end of the year is starting to get pretty close, I’m gonna be watching the first Maho Tsukai
