#funfridayfeature is back and it's GIVEAWAY TIME! And this time it's international ☺️☺️ I've teamed up with @hmhkids who are currently running a fall/autumn #picturebookparade and they're offering all kinds of new releases as prizes. We chose to help them giveaway a copy of Hooray For Today and it's been a big hit in our house already! All about a helpful little owl who really wants to play with all his friends but, of course, his 'day'time is different to everyone else's....... _____________________________________________ For one entry, make sure you're following both myself and @hmhkids and tag two mummy/daddy friends in the comments below. For a bonus entry, repost this photo and use the hashtag #picturebookparade. That's it! giveaway ends next Sunday 25th September UK time. _____________________________________________ The awesome 'childrens leatherbound' pillow is by @sorrythankyou79 and the cool gnome socks are from @footcardigan ☺️☺️ _______________________________________________

#funfridayfeature This week, Connie wants me to share one of our favourite books with you; Alice in Wonderland. This one was released last year by @panmacmillan for the 150th anniversary of Alice. It's a perfect, interactive version of AiW, ideal to introduce young readers to this wonderful story. Currently on @worderybooks for £3.67 with free worldwide delivery ______________________________________ "In Alice's adventures, nothing's ever as it seems, for Wonderland is magical, beyond your wildest dreams! Busy Alice is a perfect introduction, for young children, to Lewis Carroll's magical story Alice in Wonderland. Yup. It's Pom Pom again for our #funfridayfeature! Connie loves panda bears so this series of books about an adorably cute little bear called Pom Pom suits her to a tee! Written by @sophyhenn and published by @penguinrandomhouse, they're a definite hit. 5 🌟's from us! _______________________________________________ We got Connie's T-shirt from @littlebabedesigns and it matches her leggings perfectly. Little Babe Designs offer fun and funky print clothing and, although based in the US, offer worldwide shipping. _____________________________________________ I also wanted connie to wear her new @littlefieldlane necklace which is a beautiful hand stamped disc that says "Read To Me" (see my post from a few days ago) but she insisted on wearing *my* Littlefield Lane necklace. You can see the close up on my personal account @thecallaghanfamily ______________________________________________ Our wooden book box is by @happylittlefolks _______________________________________________

#funfridayfeature is brought to you today by @teeandtoast! This Belfast company makes the cutest T-Shirts and offer worldwide shipping. We're big fans of unicorns in this house so this "I'm magic" tee was perfect for Connie! It matches Rainbow-Rae, the unicorn which @the_merino_mermaid made for us, perfectly! _________________________________________________ We are reading Proncess Tales today. It's a Miles Kelly book and we have quite a collection of those! Miles Kelly compiles both traditional and modern fairytales and they really are wonderful. We would both recommend these books!

We took our #funfridayfeature outside today because we have now had 6 full days of sunshine here in Ireland which is unheard of! I hope the weather is being as kind to you guys as it is to us ☺️ _______________________________________________ My second unboxing post of the day comes from BookRoo and it isn't my subscription box this time; it's Connie's! @bookroo_love is a kids' sub box which sends out either 3 board books (for ages 0-2.5) or 2 picture books (for ages 2.5-6) every month. Prices start from $17.99 USD per month and is cheaper if you sign up for 6 or 12 months. They also ship internationally ☺️ Connie was so excited to receive her box. The books were even wrapped individually in colourful paper so it made the opening even more special. I would certainly recommend this service for your little roos! ________________________________________________ And I wanted to give a shoutout to Clare from @secondstitchtotheright (isn't that an awesome username?!) from whom we got Connie's leggings. We chose the Spring Floral design but there are so many wonderful designs to choose from, go check them out! ________________________________________________

#funfridayfeature time! And this week is all about learning. But, shhhh don't tell Connie that, because these books and passports are so good, she doesn't even realise that she IS learning! _______________________________________________ @tavadventures make a series of interactive passports for young, would-be globetrotters. They include information cards about whichever city you've bought, plus fun games and puzzles which always include places/foods etc that wryly would find in that city. They're something fresh and new and we are loving them! We have London, Florence and Kenya so far and will definitely be heading back to add more cities to our collection! _______________________________________________ As well as geography, we've been introducing more classical literature to Connie this week. We've very nearly got through the books we received from @babylitbooks and her favourites, so far, include Frankenstein, The Secret Garden, Romeo and Juliet and Anna Karenina! She has great taste, this daughter of mine 👌🏻 And, best of all, her book box from @happylittlefolks holds the BabyLit books perfectly! It could have been made for them! _____________________________________________ Socks are by the awesome @sockittomeinc ______________________________________________ All in all, it's been an eventful week chez Callaghan and I'll be glad to get back to some kind of normal now. Happy Friday, folks! Al & Connie xxx _______________________________________________

For today's #funfridayfeature we are recommending Whitney the Wannabe Wallaby by AJ Dakota. There's a beautiful story behind this book. It was written by a lady quite a few years ago who, unfortunately, lost her battle to breast cancer in 2002. Her daughter, Jen, recently got the story illustrated and has now bravely self-published it in memory of her mother. I'm in awe of her courage. Such a beautiful tribute. If you contact @whitneythewannabewallaby for more details, she'll tell you where the book is available. We actually got a Whitney teddybear along with the book but, apparently, she's camera shy so wouldn't appear on camera ((NEVER try to argue with a four year old; you can't win 😩)) ______________________________________________ These AWESOME cupcake socks are by @sockittomeinc and we love them! _______________________________________________

#funfridayfeature time! We were lucky enough to be sent a wonderful parcel from @penguinukbooks that was filled with Puffin books for Connie to 'review' This one, Goodnight Spaceman, is definitely one of her favourites from the whole bundle! "Inspired by ESA astronaut Tim Peake and his sons, and featuring an introduction from Tim, this is the perfect bedtime book! Two space-mad little boys get ready for bed and say goodnight to their toy rockets, launch pads and planet mobiles, before being whisked away into space on an adventure beyond their wildest dreams ...Tim Peake is the first official British ESA astronaut. He left Earth on 15th December 2015 to begin a six month long mission aboard the International Space Station. His time in space has been watched by millions and he is inspiring a new generation of explorers, adventurers and questioners. Goodnight Spaceman is the sixth book in Michelle Robinson and Nick East's beloved series. Look out for Goodnight Digger, Goodnight Tractor, Goodnight Princess, Goodnight Pirate and Goodnight Santa too!" ____________________________________ And arriving in perfect time to go with this week's space theme, were these new yellow leggings with starry patches! Totally handmade by @thelittlespoons, they're simply adorable! _____________________________________

We almost forgot about our #funfridayfeature! Thank goodness my diva daughter loves her afternoon in the spotlight and asked when it was her feature day......! ____________________________________ I'm so glad we didn't forget because we have such a sweet book to feature today. Red Socks Go With Absolutely Anything is a kids' book with a very strong message! Finalist in the USA Best Book Awards, this debut book by Darla Woodley has also received the Literary Classics Seal of Approval. I have a couple of copies so there may be a giveaway sometime soon! _____________________________________ "Sometimes it is hard to find exactly the right words to show that you are sharing your encouragement and support. This uplifting story demonstrates that a simple pair of red socks can give someone special a boost when they are feeling down or out of their comfort zone. You’ll find yourself smiling when you see how red socks go with absolutely anything!" _____________________________________ Check out @redsockswithanything for more info! ______________________________________

I can't believe it's been a week already since Connie's last #funfridayfeature! She chose today's book because she wanted to match her new skirt which was custom-made by the SUPER talented Gerry @dottyduckshop We chose this awesome 'Fairytale' fabric (she has tonnes of other fabrics, too, just look at her feed) and Gerry made it up for Connie in exactly her size. All you bookworm-mummies? You need to check out her store....I was spoilt for choice and, although based in the UK, she offers worldwide shipping ☺️ _________________________________________ We settled on a fairytale theme to match her new clothes and Connie's choice of book is one of her all-time favourites, The Billy Goats Gruff. A great story for kids anyway, this version by Nick Sharratt and Stephen Tucker is hilarious! I always have as much fun as Connie when we're reading it! Published by @macmillankidsuk it is part of a series of funny, interactive, reimagined fairytales for kids. We have the whole set and every one of my kids has loved them all over the years. Definitely a firm favourite in our house! _______________________________________

Our #funfridayfeature is brought to you by Connie AND Lily this week! This week I want to let you know about The Rescue book by Monique and Byron Louie. They wrote this book for their son, initially. It was a story about their two dogs, Dundee and Munster. In their own words, "The Rescue" is a story about Dunder the German Shepherd and the day his parents brought home Munster from the animal shelter - changing both of their lives forever. "The Rescue" shares the message of hope, appreciation, friendship, and animal rescue with the next generation of dog lovers. And what better way to do this than to use our dogs' story as an example." ____________________________________ We were lucky enough to receive an advance copy of this book and Connie (and Lily-pup!) loved it! There's a Kickstarter campaign currently running (I think there's around 14 days left to pledge) and you can find all the information over at @thedunderboy _____________________________________
