Xerxes was a nation in the desert with a people characterized by golden hair, eyes, and skin. Although much of Xerxesian culture is destroyed, the Elric family remains as the last people of Xerxesian descent.

Fullmetalnet presents its third event: for the month of June we will be focusing on favorite LGBT+ headcanons!

This event is open to both those within the network and those outside it! Tag us by June. 30th to have your piece displayed!

The requirements for this event are as follows:

Your creation can be any form of media. Art, writing, edits, gifs, AMVs, etc. and etc. As long as you create it, it is accepted.

Ships can be both canon and noncanon, as long as they are from Fullmetal Alchemist and LGBT+.

Your creation should be tagged with your faction! (#ishval, #amestris, #xing, #xerxes), #fullmetal event 3, and @fullmetalnet in order to count towards future voting for events.

All creations are due June 30th!

here’s an excerpt from one of my wips for @fullmetalnet’s event four: favorite father figures!

If anyone asked, Roy harbored no reservations about recruiting Ed. A much truer sentiment was that he had buried those reservations deep into his cold, dead heart and they were all being excavated as he stared at the sick child.

Guilt was one thing. The urge to brush the hair from Ed’s face and comfort him was another.

Roy knew how to deal with guilt. Roy did not know how to deal with those parental feelings.

Oh, look—he even tensed up at that thought.

Yeah…he did not sign up to be a dad.

Riza poked her head in the door. “Who’s Edward’s legal guardian?”

“Me.”

“Okay, thank you.” Riza ducked her head back out.

Okay. He might’ve signed up to be the kid’s legal guardian, but still. Not his dad.

I really enjoyed Darius and Heinkel, despite them being more minor and appearing so late into the story. They just look like dads and I think that’s neat. Not my all time favourite father figures, but definitely ones with comedic potential.

Some aroace, aro , and ace pride icons for @fullmetalnet event three!

This is my piece for @fullmetalnet‘s February event!  Behold, another piece where I make 03 Winry cry!

Winry doesn’t have the semblance or composure to wave the child off―she can hardly string together a thought, let alone a sentence, but Ed doesn’t tease her as he does in her dreams. He doesn’t pull away, doesn’t chuckle and tuck a strand of hair behind her ear, doesn’t tut, tut, tut her for her lack of control. He doesn’t even move except to shift the grip of his left hand from her fingers to her shoulder, his forehead still firmly pressed against hers.

She keeps her eyes open this time, watches the way tears seem to leak freely from his own tightly-shut lids, the way his eyelashes clump together, the light dusting of freckles that crosses the bridge of his nose. She tries her hardest to memorize the exact shade of his skin, tanned rather than sunburnt. She keeps her eyes open for fear that closing them will end the moment, will wake her up, will send him back to a place she can never hope to see.

a little drabble for @fullmetalnet’s third LGBT+ event and @edling-week (fits the prompt “hands”)!

The most free Ed ever felt was when he was dead to the world—but not to the boy holding his hand.

Moonlight shined on Ling’s hair, highlighting every strand of his ponytail.

Ed didn’t dare move from his uncomfortable seat on the grass. The prince had fallen asleep several minutes ago, on his shoulder.

If Ed moved and caused Ling to pull his hand away, Ed would have lost the greatest treasure he’d ever known.

He’d give up so much more than comfort if it meant he could hold Ling’s hand forever. Ling—not Greed or the iffy state when they coexisted.

Maybe it didn’t matter if the world ended. Ed had gotten to hold Ling’s hand. What more did he need to achieve for a full life?

If Ed died in this moment...well, nothing would have been more worth it.

It was years until Ed got his wish. He held Ling’s, and only Ling’s, hand atop the plush royal sofa.

Starlight shined through the curtains, highlighting every pore that made up Ling’s beautiful skin.

There were no words as they admired each other. Soaked in each other. The years had dulled Ling’s smile but not his eyes. They were beautiful cassiterite as they pierced the weariness of Ed’s travel.

He was fresh under Ling’s gaze.

He was so glad he hadn’t died in that moment all those years ago. For all the pain, this was worth it.
