Yami didn’t know how this happened, she was fine when she left on a mission with Asta and Noelle, but when they all came back she was a baby! When he asked them what the hell happened Asta and Noelle explained that it was the bad guys magic; he could make people really old, or really young!

Yami had ordered them to take her back to the mage and force him to change her back but Noelle explained that they tried, but the mage said his spell would only wear off in 24 hours. So for now…they were stuck with her being a toddler!

She was still able to walk at least, talking on the other hand…well she was only able to say a handful of words, mainly ‘mommy’ and ‘daddy’. Which kind of bothered Yami since he didn’t want to be called ‘daddy’ by a member of his squad, but she wasn't really eager to learn ‘Yami’ at the moment he would have to deal with it for now.

Yami fully intended to leave her at the squad as he went to a Captain’s meeting, but when Yami began to ask who wanted to be in charge of their toddler squadmate every single Black Bull scattered like leaves in a gust of wind.

Which was how he ended up in his current situation; in the Captain’s meeting room, with his toddler squadmate sitting in his lap, as the other Captain’s ‘oohed’ and ‘awwed’ over her.

“ Aw look how adorable she is! I didn’t know you had a baby Yami!” Dorothy said as she began to use her Glamour World magic to create small toys to keep her entertained. Charlotte crossed her arms as she looked at the child.

‘Yami had a child?! Why didn’t he say anything? Does that mean he’s married or has a committed partner? Or is the child a product of a one night stand? Yami doesn’t seem to be the type to do that though, so he must have someone! Why didn’t he say anything, I’m so jealous of her, why didn’t I confess to him sooner?!’ Charlotte’s mind raced as she stared at the little girl, she didn’t look like Yami, but that could easily be explained away. The girl looked at Charlotte with wide eyes before she smiled brightly and reached her arms out towards the Briar mage.

“ Mommy?” She asked cutely before her smile widened. “ Mommy!”

Charlotte and Dorothy’s hearts quickly melted and they both couldn’t help but say ‘How Cute~!’. Yami sighed and shook his head.

“ The Prickly Princess ain’t your mom, and I’m not her dad. She’s a member of my squad who got turned into a toddler on a mission earlier. The other brats took off running when I asked them to baby sit her.” Yami explained as he held the small girl still. She looked up at him with a pout but did stop moving.

“ I see, so how long will she be like this?” Fuegoleon asked as he placed a thoughtful hand under his chin, the girl looked at him for a moment before her bright smile returned.

“ Daddy!” She shouted brightly and with a giggle, Fuegoleon’s brows raised in surprise and a small smile appeared on his face.

“ I’m sorry to say that I’m not your father little one.” Fuegoloen told her gently as he patted her on the head, the little girl pouted.

“ She seems to only be able to say ‘mommy’ and ‘daddy’, which makes sense since she’s only like 1 or 2.” Yami said in an unsure tone, Rill tilted his head.

“ I think she’s closer to a year and a half! Babies are generally able to walk by the time they’re one, and can talk in short sentences by the age of two, so logically she should be somewhere in between since she can walk but not really talk!” Rill said thoughtfully as he stared at the young girl.

“ How the hell do you know that kid?” Jack asked with a frown and Rill suddenly laughed sheepishly.

“ Me and my squad sometimes volunteer at the orphanages in the city and the sisters explained it to me when I tried to have a group of kids tell me about their paintings.” Rill explained and the others nodded.

The little girls eyes moved to Nozel, who was sitting in his seat with his eyes closed and arms crossed, ignoring her effectively.

“ Daddy…?” She asked hesitantly and Nozel’s eyes shot open and he glared coldly at her.

“ I’m not your father, and I wish you would refrain from calling me that.” He told the girl, his tone as cold as ice, the little girl jumped for a moment before her eyes welled up with tears.

The girl began to cry and wail at the top of her lungs, everyone glared openly at Nozel.

“ What the hell did you do that for braid boy?!” Yami asked as he and the others tried to console the toddler and Nozel’s eyes widened a bit.

“ Geez Nozel she’s just a baby, can’t you be just a little nicer with her?” Dorothy asked as she put her hands on her hips and had a angry look on her face. Nozel’s cheeks turned a shade of pink and he looked away.

“ Don’t listen to him brat,” Yami said to the toddler as he gently patted her head. “ You can call of us ‘mom’ and ‘dad’ as much as you like. And ignore him.” Yami instructed them as his hand moved away from her head and began to wipe away her tears.

“ Yeah! Nozel’s just jealous because he doesn’t have a cool baby of his own!” Rill said as he crossed his arms, and Jack looked over at the Silver Eagles Captain.

“ Even I’m not that big of a jerk to kids bird boy.” He muttered with a shake of his head, Nozel sighed loudly before turning to look at them all.

“ I’m not jealous and I’m not angry at the child!” Nozel shouted accidentally, causing everyones eyes to widen. “ It’s just…” He glanced over at Dorothy, and she suddenly realized why he was acting the way he was.

Seeing that little girl was bringing up a lot of painful memories for him, so all he knew to do was lash out in order to hide his true emotions.

“ It’s just that a Captain’s meeting is no place for a child as young as her. Here, we talk about and see so many terrible things that it could easily traumatize someone as young as her for life. Don’t you think it would be better for her to remain innocent to the horrors of the world just a little longer?” Nozel asked with a sigh.

“ Uh, she’s already seen the horrors of the world remember? She’s actually a Magic Knight?” Yami pointed out in confusion, causing Nozel’s face to turn a brighter red.

“ Nozel does have a point. A Captain’s meeting is no place for a young child,” Fuegoloen agreed before he reached out to take her from Yami. “ So I suggest that she stay with Marx for the time being, and once the meetings over Yami can take her back. Alright?” He watched as all the others nodded and he carefully carried the child through the doors and to Marx.

The meeting ended fairly quickly and now Yami was heading back to the Black Bulls Hideout. After being full of energy all day she had finally wore herself out and was sound asleep in Yami’s arms. He chuckled a bit as he looked down at her, as much as he didn’t want to babysit her at first, he had to admit it was a nice change of pace and he was actually going to miss her being this small.

At least until she woke up and began to torment everyone again, then he wouldn’t be able to wait until she transformed back into her normal self again.

He Is hands on whether you had a nanny or not. It was only if he had no choice he would get the nanny to help.

Well your husband was a really busy man afterall, so he had to be away a lot of the time, so he was feeling a little sad about missing out on his first born's growth journey.

Thus, whenever he could, he would be doing everything. Changing clothes for her, picking out the cutest dresses or something that matches your outfit.

He wasn't really good at it, but he would change their diapers too. He didn't mind getting poop stained on his hands, or his shirt stained with pee.

"there's gonna come a day when I wouldn't be able to change her diapers anymore, honey."

You weren't complaining, cause you'll have time to rest and do your own things.

He'll have his blunders here and there, like the time when he played with the d/n too close after meal time and she vomited all over his hair.

He was really apologetic about it but d/n was smiling and laughing from all the fun, you just couldn't help but laugh as well.

As long as Fue was around when she cried, he would get up from whatever he was doing to tend to her. He would cradle her, play with her, read to her until she calmed down.

You were glad for all the help, the only downside was that he didn't ever want to leave her. Even for date nights, he would want to bring her along and sometimes it becomes family nights.

You would have to give him the eye before he would leave d/n with the nanny.

Also, 10/10 over protective dad.

Nozel Silva

He questioned on why it was necessary for him to do the cleaning up in the beginning. Because "we have the nannies for that"

And that you both could just focus on feeding, teaching, playing with s/n.

Well it was your first born and you didn't want to miss out on anything so you still did the changing and cleaning half of the time.

I mean, you still counted your blessings that you had Nann(ies) to assist you, since it was really taxing for your body after birth and you had to recover and take care of yourself AND take care of an infant at the same time. Shit was NOT EASY.

Also, your husband question whether it would really help with bonding since he never remembered his mom or dad for cleaning up after him when he was an infant. Not like anyone could remember anyway.

You kinda felt he made sense.

Until you saw Nozel unable to pacify his son and had the nannies to calm the baby.

"It's that kind of bond, Nozel." you were arguing with him about it one day.

Well, because you got him wrapped around your pinky, he had to do this hands on clean up stuff. And only did he realise that it wasn't that bad afterall.

He knew how his son liked his diapers worn. When he would get a nappy rash, when he would pee or poop.

Well, once he was changing the diaper and s/n peed, and it got all over his shirt. You could tell Nozel was a little annoyed but he continued changing his diaper and cleaning up.

Then he went to change himself. He carried his son in his arms after, looking at him smile and giggle. Nozel pinched his cheeks.

"That bond, right?" you winked at him. And Nozel finally understood.

William Vangeance

He wants to be a hands on dad but he was really really busy. But whenever he could, he would definitely be hands on.

In fact, he holds the baby too much that you'll complain and lament from time to time, that he doesn't spend time with you anymore.

But deep down, you knew that it was because he didn't want to miss the precious times where they grew up so quickly.

But because he spends so little time with his infant child, he does get a little clumsy from time to time.

He would have the diapers the wrong way, and ended up having to shift d/n multiple times, making her more uncomfortable and thus, making her cry even more.

He would be confused on which milk bottle to use and how much to feed. Sometimes, d/n would cry because she was still hungry.

Well, eventually he always used the bigger milk bottle, so you had a pretty chubby baby, haha

He would also get the pyjamas and clothes the wrong side SO OFTEN.

"okay honey, don't they button at the back? But there's one that buttons at the back?"

With all the blunders and questions he's asking you, you hardly get much rest even when he's taking over the baby.

Sometimes you were just too exhausted to correct him and if it wasn't life endangering, you'd just sleep with your baby with her clothes inside out. Or her going out socks. Well, who's looking, right?

It's okay because it's all about the bonding at the end of the day. Whenever you see him smile to your giggling daughter, everything was okay.

Even in winter, it was rarely snowing over the royal capital. In most cases, it was just the same as spring, summer and autumn, pouring rain instead of snow.

But on this January night, one of the exceptions happened, it was snowing in the royal capital. It wasn’t a snow storm, it was nothing compared to the snowy weather in the Spade Kingdom.

Still, the snowflakes were rather big, leaving a small blanket of snow over his balcony and Nozel hoped that the Silva gardeners managed to the Silva Flower Garden from this. Even though snow was rare in the capital, it still happened and his mother had taken important measures to protect their flower garden from snow situations, as she called them.

Nozel chuckled. His mother always a love-hate relationship with snow. On one hand she hated it because of the Silva Flower Garden, one of her favourite places in the world. Acier had often be afraid that snow could somehow be not good for the flowers, especially her beloved water lilies. That’s why she decided to take measures to protect the garden.

But on the other hand, she loved snowy days and evenings, when she was at home in a cosy feeling. Just sitting in a warm salon, cuddled in a fluffy blanket, with a book and a cup of hot chocolate, while watching the snowflakes falling slowly from the sky.

He missed his mother, of course he did. Nozel doubted that this feeling would ever disappear. But it didn’t hurt anymore, at least. He had learned to heal, to make amends, to move on, to make peace with himself.

And a lot of this success was thanks to his beloved wife.

“You seem rather fascinated by those snowflakes, honey.”

“Well, I have rarely seen the falling of snow over the capital in my life.”

“Hm, good point.”

Nozel turned towards the bed and he could literally feel his eyes brightening up when he saw his beloved wife lying on the mattress, smiling at him, her hands on her big belly.

“Wouldn’t you come back to me, please, handsome husband of mine?” Vanessa asked with a teasing pout. “It’s not good for my pregnancy moods to have you so far away from me and I can’t really join you with this big thing right here.”

She was teasing him, that’s what Vanessa did so often. Although she wasn’t completely wrong about the pregnancy moods. Vanessa was very emotional due to her pregnancy and as a result, Nozel also got emotional about how emotional she was.

So, Nozel joined her back on the bed and hugged her as best he could, given her womb.

When Vanessa told him that she they would be parents, he had been a bit afraid he would end up like his father. He was grateful that Vanessa, his siblings, his aunt and Fuegoleon had do their best to convince him otherwise. Nozel knew that it probably hadn’t been an easy task.

He also had been afraid if the pregnancy would go well. Nozel still remembered vividly how difficult the pregnancy had been for his mother when she was expecting Noelle, as well as Solids difficult birth. But so far, Vanessa was doing fine except for the usual pregnancy side-effects and Owen reassured him each time that everything was going normally.

Now, Nozel felt mostly happy about becoming a father and despite his worries concerning the whole birth, he was looking forward to it. Looking forward to hold their children for the first time.

Yes, children. Vanessa was expecting twins.

This had been another shock for Nozel. He had already been concerned to become a good father for one children and now he would have two.

“Are you three alright?”

“Now that you’re back with us, we are. Everything is better when daddy’s here, right you little griffins?”

His chuckle was heavy. “Griffins.”

“What? It’s true. You’re very eagle, I’m more cat and a griffin is the mix of an eagle and a feline. So, our children are somehow griffins.”

Nozel wondered sometimes how Vanessa could get those kind of ideas sometimes. But Dorothy had pretty similar ones, so maybe it was a witch thing.

“It won’t be long now,” he whispered, looking fondly and Vanessas belly.

“If Owen’s right, it should be sometime in February. I thought the time would pass very slowly, but now it feels it was only yesterday that I came into your captain office to tell you the news. And now I’m about to give birth in barely a month.”

Time went rather fast during nine months, indeed. Nozel still remembered crystal clear how one day, Vanessa barged into his office to tell him she was pregnant, while he was trying to get through to paperwork.

Needless to say that he had been unable to focus back on paperwork afterwards. And also needless to say that the wild baby rumours started within his squad. The Silver Eagles were more eager of gossip than he would have thought.

“Oof.”

“Is something wrong, Vanessa.”

“Nothing. It just seems that the newest members of house Silvas are in a very moving mood.”

Moving… His children were moving.

“Don’t be shy, eagle papa, you can put your hands on my balloon if you want to feel them,” Vanessa chuckled with a cheeky smirk. How did she always know what was going on within his mind and his heart?

Nozel still didn’t hesitate for long, as he started first to caress Vanessas belly softly, before moving a bit and put his ear on her womb.

He could indeed hear them…

And feel the next kick perfectly.

“Don’t hurt your mother, you two.”

“And don’t hurt your dad either, you only have one, you griffin ladies.”

Nozel chuckled. Another theme that was always coming back. “How can you be so sure that it would be girls?”

“No idea. Maybe it’s a witch thing, but I have no knowledge of that. Or maybe it’s because you’ll be such a perfect girl dad.”

Nozel just shook his head in amusement. Her explanations often didn’t make any sense to him, but he loved them nonetheless.

“But what if one of them is a boy? Or if both are, how do you call, griffin lords? We still need to choose names. It’s the only thing we haven’t decided yet… Everything else is ready.”

“Given from your lists, I think I like Aquila and Nathanael most for boys, so that’s decided. As for girls… Well, we have already chosen Nymphea first, since it was one of your mothers favourite names and it’s also another name of her favourite flowers. But if it’s two girls… Gosh, I can’t choose! They’re all so cool! Valentina, Lavinia, Cassandra, Épée, Morgane, Gwendolyn, Dentelle… Or those flower related ones, Iris, Myosotis, Belladonna-“

“I think we still have time to choose a second girl name,” Nozel interrupted her, before blowing a kiss on her lips. He heard Vanessa enough saying every girl name on their list out loud to know that she would get overly emotional again if he didn’t stop her.

“You’re right. So, can this exhausted young mummy have a hug now?”

Of course Nozel obliged. It was a bit difficult to embrace each other now that there was a huge belly in the way. But Vanessa always loved to be hugged from behind and Nozel would never lose an opportunity to hold her the ways she preferred.

So, he sat down behind his wife, letting her half lie down against him and put his hands on her womb, feeling the twins moving and kicking again.

Nozel sighed happily. He felt so at peace, like he never did for years after the death of his mother. But right now, with his witch wife and his griffin twins as she called them, this very moment felt like pure bliss.
