Phobia Whumper - Claustrophobic Whumpee - Part 2

I wrote this in 20 minutes because @whumpsday wanted it. Thank Mill, not me XD

Whumpee whined, wrist twisting in Whumper’s grip. Not much- not nearly enough for them to be trying to get out. Just. Just testing the waters, okay?? Not more than that. Not fighting back in a way that was punishable or categorizable as defiance.

“I- pl-ease, sir, I’m j-”

He just breathed a laugh as he unlocked the broom closet by the kitchen, holding it open to display the small, dusty interior. “Just what? What, you think this is a punishment or something?”

Whumpee froze, starting up at him with confusion, pleading, and desperation. 

Whumper’s head tilted, free hand lifting to dab away a tear Whumpee hadn’t realized escaped their eye. “No, darlin’, this is just fun.” He tugged them toward the threshold of the closet.

Whumpee yelped, pulling back. Okay, now they were fighting back in a categorizably defiant way. “N-no please-don–” They squeaked as their feet slipped against the floorboards, crashing them down on their ass. 

Even them, they were writhing, desperately trying to get away from the little closet. Not again. Anything else- there wasn’t even a light in there!”

Whumper just laughed, reaching down to bruise a grip on their arm and body them up again. 

Air rushed past Whumpee, then sputtered out of their throat as the wooden shelves inside the closet bashed against their spine. 

Panic began to swirl as Whumper blocked the door - and most of the light - taking up most of the door’s frame with his own. Hot tears were slicking their bangs to their cheeks as they fumbled back to upright. “N-nonono-no please-d- don’t leave me here-!” They grabbed pathetically for Whumper, expecting to be shoved back against the wall again. 

..they weren’t

Whumper hummed, arms settling down around them. Snuggling them in close. “Aright.”

Whumpee didn’t fight it. Not in the slightest. They buried their face against his chest, trying their best to claw down a sob that hiccuped at the base of their lungs. “thh-hankyou-” They held him back as best they could, desperately trying to show some kind of appreciation for the mercy. Their arms were shaking far too hard to stretch out, but their fingers gripped into the flannel that brushed against their skin, praying for the panic to subside soon. If they kept crying he’d be angry. 

“Let’s get settled, then…” One of Whumper’s arms unwrapped enough to reach behind him, and. 

He.

He pulled the door shut. 

Whumpee’s head snapped up as darkness enveloped them - so much more than before. It suffocated them, echoing heartbeats against the paneled walls and their inner ear. 

They immediately tried squirming back. “N-no y-”

“Shhhhh-” Whumper chided, pushing their back against the wall again. “You didn’t want me to leave you. So I’m not leaving.”

Fresh panic shot down Whumpee’s spine. 

This was-

They w-

The walls w-

They didn’t both fit!!!

There was barely room for them in here, let alone him-

Whumpee’s breaths were coming faster and faster, sticky lungs sucking down greedy, pointless fustfulls of air that did nothing to ease the burning ache of desperation. “Th-at’s n-not wh-”

Whumper pressed a hand over their mouth - more in warning than actually blocking sound. “You asked. I answered. Are you going to be ungrateful?”

Whumpee’s entirely body was trembling. Toes falling numb, their knees buckled. They thought they’d at least be able to slide to the ground, but Whumper pressed his weight tighter against them, pinning them in place against the pitch black wood. 

A sob sputtered out their lips, and their arms and legs were moving without their consent. Shoving. Kicking. Hitting. Anything to move. Anything to get some air-

For several bizarre moments, they imagined a cave-in. Their mind didn’t care that they were above ground or that the closet was probably the safest place to be if the house were coming down. They needed to be out-

Tears and spit and snot sucked their throat tight as they thrashed, sobbing incoherent protestation filling the room and suffocating them more. 

Whumper just chuckled, nose dipping to nuzzle against their neck. His hands stayed firmly on them, keeping them pressed against him as the pain drowned out everything in their mind. 

It lasted for years. Or moments. Days. Hours. They had no idea. 

They noticed flashes of white-hot pain through the panic, but couldn’t tell where they came from. It didn’t matter. Pain didn’t matter. They couldn’t breathe- couldn’t move. Couldn’t speak. 

Everything was sucked away from them moment by moment and worsened by Whumper’s weight pressing them harder against the wall. 

Flooded eyes desperately searched for any source of light to prove to them that the walls weren’t getting closer and closer. No streak of radiance in the darkness denied what their mind pressed on full display. 

Whumpee couldn’t tell you how long it took. They didn’t know. 

But one way or another, the blessed mercy of suffocation let them crumpled unconscious into Whumper’s arms. Free at last from the walls. 

They're UNCONCIOUS, not dead. Just felt the need to clarify that.

Okay, I wanted to talk about this animation by @/Johantly on Twitter

It's 1:31 animation of Freddy in the Endo Daycare having his existential crisis, it slaps so hard... and I just need to ramble about it. (I was trying to add pictures, but it's not loading properly, so... wahh)

The first few seconds have me interested. It's something about the way Freddy moves, feels natural/humanoid. The cut of the camera to a lower mid shot angle gives it a similar feel to a TV show/movie.

Something about the different shots adds a nice a flow that tickles my brain

I also love the use of the voiceline and how it was edited, as its one of those lines that Freddy asks at some point during the game; as if he's having an epiphany about what Gregory saw earlier.

He brings it up with such casual skepticism (his tone makes me giggle), despite saying, "I believe you if you say you have." Hearing that line in game makes me wanna flick him- don't question me, Freddy, I know what I saw >:(

Anyways the natural cut off of dialogue just works, his little quirks of speech and movement in this animation makes him so human like.

The model for the endo daycare is so well crafted that the setting is dark but has a nostalgic vibe. The original game model is cold, dark, and creepy, but for some reason, when I look at this one, it feels different. Nostalgic, as I mentioned, and kinda warm in a weird way. I don't know. Conceptually it's fucking creepy with the endos hanging around, but honestly this gives me the vibes of a college kid going back to his childhood room and reminiscing on the memories. It would be interesting if we find out if the glams remember their training.

Side bit, his mention of never being allowed in the endo daycare is interesting, despite saying he might have been born there. Knowing what we know from HW2, seeing the programming process of juvenile endos is a delicate yet fast-paced one. I've had personal headcanons about what it was like, and Hw2 sort of confirmed it.

It's kinda odd that Freddy isn't allowed to be in the daycare, though, but maybe the existential dread is probably the reason why the techs don't let the main mascots go back there.

Freddy's soliloquy has always made me feel for him, I like listening to it. He sounds so introspective and frantic about it, so seeing it animated with his movements was.. cathartic? (Help I've watched this thing 9 times now)

The glams themselves aren't that expressive in the game. They experience emotions, yeah, but I mean physically emoting is rare or pretty stiff. The most facial expressions we get are in the beginning cutscene, maybe the dissamble ending, and the front entrance cutscene- Freddy being at the forefront. It's kinda hard to emote as a robot, but this animation does a great job with the limited range of expression.

Using Freddy's ears, hands, eyebrows, and his shoulder pads to emote is impressive. I've seen a lot of good security breach animations and they all have their own ways of making the glams emote, and I always love watching them (I'll probably link my favorite fan animations at the end). Also, this one of the few animations I've seen where they actually rigged Freddy's eyebrows to move. Hell yeahhhh!!!

But how Freddy acts in this just gives me joy. "Monty in a different" as he looks over himself, reaching to touch an endo as he says, "They are all the same." He's just so sweet acting.

And the music swelling adds so much more to his monologue. The crescendo as he says, "If I am mass produced, am I still art?" HITS SO FUCKING HARD

I made a joke tweet comparing the shot of him reaching up to the light with Ariel in Part of Your World, but it honestly has that same vibe. He's dramatic, he's whimsical, he's dumb, and also a little annoying, but it's okay. We still love him.

The light shutting off as he breaks out from his dread is kinda funny, though, and Gregory awkwardly standing there adds to it.

Sorry, this is such a cornplate thing to say, but he also uses a contraction when he says, "Greg, I'm not nearly that annoying, am I?"

Then Gregory nodding in response, causing him to get a little droopy is comedy. It's not gut busting humor, but it's the little things that make me giggle okay. Freddy needs to be self-aware, and damnit, if a 12 year old doesn't humble him, then what's the point?

Get called cringe like the rest of us, Freddy.

Okay, the fazerblast commercial doesn't have any reason to go that hard, but it does. The opening sequence for it with Freddy standing there is so... GGHHFHG :33

He's so cool. I know I called him cringe just a second ago but I'm fan regardless of his flaws okay. This makes me want to play fazerblast with him.

The running, jumping, and shooting he does is *chef's kiss*, even if it's at Monty's expense. Bro should've had a fazerblaster...

Also their faces... it's like Freddy doesn't even remember doing that commercial.

I love how embarrassed he gets, it's so cute-

And it's hard to tell if Gregory is impressed by Freddy's agility or by how cheesy the ad is. The cut was like a cutaway gag in The Office or Family Guy.

Either way, this is peak. I loved this animation, it's only been out less than a week and I've watched it officially 9 times... (and maybe more)

It gives me a sense of comfort. The amount of time and effort put into something that was a small side project is an incredible feat, and it has so much jam packed in a one and half minute animation. It feels like it could be a scene from SB or even a movie. It's so fucking good. This is just a self indulgent, cornplate post and I don't care what anyone says about it. I just like rambling about fnaf sb stuff especially if Freddy is involved.

✧˖° ✩࿐ °˖ ✧ The words hit him like a ton of bricks and it makes it clear to him now why she doesn't look at him the same way she used to. She says that he can talk to her - but can he - really? He's just as wicked as his Other is but just held in a different elemental hue.

Light can burn just as well as Darkness can bind.

Even if he does have his own qualms with his darker half, that is for them to work through. That is for them to sort. The shattered shards that form their singular bond are for them and them ALONE.

It isn't Terra or Aqua's mess to try to figure out. It isn't for Sora or Riku or Kairi or Roxas - it isn't for anyone else to stick their hands into to try to make sense of because none of them know what it's like to be living your life as a fragment of something never to be whole again.

He'll never be whole again.

What do they know?

Nothing.

Twisted ideas of what is noble and what is just. Whatever the light tells them is the correct path without ever stopping to speak to the darkness. The Darkness has emotions too. The Darkness was born of it. Why not just stop to ask? To talk? To inquire how it feels?

It was apart of ALL of them whether they liked it or not - the rest of them just were never very involuntarily gifted the ability to look theirs in the face. That small dark voice that exists inside all of us. The worries and woes that creep in the back reaches of one's mind. Darkness was apart of all of us and it would have been so much easier if they all had just learned to stand hand in hand instead of raising their keyblades and calling for war.

War between families. War between friends.

If this is how she felt then she should have just ended him like he told her to in the first place.

Then no one else would have had to suffer. Then no one else would have had to deal with his darkness if such a thing were so vile. So wicked. So tainted. So Ugly.

So the sky is burning as his gaze falls to narrow, nose wrinkling as he snarls. She wants to know who loves him?

"I DO."
