I don't know if this was proposed before but what if what Jean discovered in that DNA test is that Jacob is not Ola's father? Idk if that's even possible - I mean how? - but what made me thought of that is that they played a lot with Ola's pain over her mother's death and her fear that Jacob would be happier with his new family and that her mother had an affair - I know it was supposed to be after they had kids but he may didn't know - so it would make for some drama for s4. Also, Jacob not being Joy's dad would not only be stupid and inconsistent with what we saw in s2 - Jean not even for a second thought any other option for her baby's father - but also what would be the point? Jacob to relieve a betrayal so to learn to forgive? He already forgave his wife. To grief? Hmm, that would be cheap drama. From a writing perspective it would be too limited and cliché and predictable. Ola's struggling with her place in the family would be a better follow up from s3 imo. Idk, just my two cents. (she may also discoverd something unrelated with Joy's paternity, like some medical contition or something).

I completely see what you mean! however, paternity tests only test for the child requested. unless jakob suddenly doubted his relationship with ola, only joy would be tested for paternity. however, paternity tests can also test for possible disease or illness. I just think laurie wanted cheap, lazy drama for jean and jakob and use them as a punching bag

I absolutely would! it would take me a bit longer to get to since it would be more emotional, but absolutely! this way I can also use what season 3 gives us as inspo 💛

Its lowkey kinda funny how in season 2 Jean spent the whole season being overwhelmed by Jakob’s presence in her life but the moment his presence was removed she missed it. Do you think she underestimated how much she liked him or impact his companionship was having in her life?

I think she definitely underestimated what any partner could bring to the relationship, especially after remi. after being single for so long, having a partner must’ve been absolutely overwhelming! it means communication and teamwork, in which jean for sure doesn’t practice what she preaches.

jakob’s change was only one aspect of what she had trouble forming the concept of: the physical proof of a partner’s presence. she was used to being her and her son, and in her own words, became too independent. she LIKED being single and having that control. she LIKED not having to worry about picking up after someone else who wasn’t her son. jean is not willing to make compromises and jakob just want to love jean.

enter jakob. he is impulsive and messy, and he is also emotionally strong and aware. he is thoughtful and kind, making jean soup and a pan shelf. their relationship becomes too much for jean when she realizes jakob needs more than just sex. she didn’t see kissing remi as inherently cheating because to her, a relationship either revolves around a couple’s sex life or is a major part of it. it’s her literal JOB to study and help people with their sex lives and relationships.

jean also realized she wanted someone to come home to, to have dinner with, and to love not just in a sexual way. however, communication is not her strong suit, and instead of asking him his wants and needs and he hers, she lets her frustration over kissing remi cloud her and become upset over his interruption in making the pan shelf.

jakob knows what he wants and deserves, and he knows jean struggles to give that to him. she knows it too, which is fucking unfortunate because by the time she realizes “oh wow I fucked up,” he refuses to be hurt and leaves her. the change on the table reminds her of what she had and threw away because she was afraid of someone being an actual caring, loving partner.

and then she’s pregnant. while I hope they get back together, only time and the writers will tell. I just hope jean works on her communication and relationship skills until then.

Do you see Jakob questioning the paternity of the baby?

I don’t think so. Jean only said she kissed Remi, and Jeankob was pretty strong. I don’t know if Jakob would think Jean would be sleeping with other men after they ended things, but who knows. Gillian said they start the new season when Jean is about five months pregnant, so maybe they’ll show something as like a flashback? I honestly can’t say.

I don’t think the baby’s paternity is going to be a issue. Jean was very honest regarding her shortcomings and if something else had happened she would’ve told him. And they also had a very active sex life.

Ngl the BTS of Jeankob at the hospital is already a big step for them. Because I know Jean likes to do things on her own. Idk why but I see them having a bigger arc than in previous seasons. This SL is one of the biggest things set up last season.

jackson realizes his love for theater and quits swimming

groff realizes he wants his wife back and will do anything... even see jean

eric doesn’t get with either adam or rahim, and focuses on himself

the new headmistress clashes with not only cal, but somehow otis, maeve, and eric get caught in the mix

maureen helps jean with the pregnancy, excited every step of the way

everyone starts preparing for a-levels (I still don’t know what the fuck that is) and jeankob quickly realize their kids are growing up

due to the sensitive nature of miscarriages, I don’t write stuff like that, but I can definitely write about something else! maybe she hasn’t felt movement in a while or something like that!

well, the “danger zone” is the entirety of the first trimester; but yes, I would like jean to tell jakob even before then. I think he would forgive her is she did keep the pregnancy a secret in the beginning, but it would be best to tell him so plans can be made asap
