@lia-lozano Event: Halloween Party @ Golden Hour Beach Bar. It turned out Amaia wasn't capable of stonewalling him forever, there was still some shred of empathy in her and she'd let Emil take Isabel to a Halloween work party. It wasn't the same as going Door to Door around the neighborhood but they went around to all the desks and the guys set up a little child-friendly fun house on site. So, with that having taken place the evening before Emil was taking his small sliver of hope and floating on cloud nine. A drink in hand helped, of course. Just lightly buzzed enough to have stopped fiddling with his ears every five minutes. He wasn't exactly sure why but he was pretty sure he'd briefly bumped into a smug smirking Mari just moments before he spotted her. He'd heard her laugh first and his head snapped in Lia's direction without him even realizing what he was doing, gaze scanning the crowd for the familiar head of hair. Nothing could've prepared him for the sight. An amused grin danced into place when he clocked the purple-accented jet pack bag. The rest of her costume was cute but revealing and his pulse spiked immediately, not catching himself mindlessly gravitating towards her through the crowd. Sharp blue eyes traced the line of her glittering thigh-high boots, and Emil would like to claim it took longer than it did for his attention to settle on the curve of Lia's butt. He'd had to stop in his tracks to do a double-take when he registered the letter 'E' written boldly on her skin. If it was possible, he was sure his jaw would've hit the floor then and there. Just unhinged and dropped off. His brain seemed to stop functioning for a whole solid minute. Despite being dumbstruck and feeling a warmth blossom up his neck and face his feet decided to function again and before he knew it Emil was stood behind her. His palms were sweaty, his heart thudding in his chest, and a lump in his throat. No idea how to form words as his mind begged him to 'Be Cool'. Be cool, be cool, be cool. Trying to remember how to breathe he lifted a hand to tap on her shoulder and somehow managed to offer her some version of his usual lopsided grin when she turned to him. "You look... out of this world." Emil winked, pun definitely intended.

"Pink is a good color on you," Emil offered with a grin. Only doubling-down on Lia's claim. "Don't worry, I can be awkward too." So far, it just seemed to happen less around Lia. The universe was doing him a favor. The low whisper of her voice made the moment feel intimate, and he couldn't help but to be a little more earnest with her. "Yeah? Well, you kinda turned mine around." He admitted with a softened smile. He'd been trying to have a good time, but even with a drink in hand it hadn't been easy to not let his mind wander. Emil had wanted to bring Isabel at least the first day, to play the carnival games with her and bring her by the food stalls. Visit Kira. Instead, Amaia refused to let him have her and that paired with Alara appearing right before had him in a mood. One that Lia managed to dissipate with all the ease of a smile.
"Definitely, I'll even get it mounted by your front door so everyone knows." It was easy to laugh with Emil and it was even easier to smile around him. She hadn't stopped smiling from the second she had seen him at the festival and that was pretty much how it went every time they were together.
Lia wasn't the most natural dancer, but having been pushed into lessons as a kid allowed her to be confident enough to not be self conscious. Even if she didn't really think about it when she was in Emil's arms. As he pulled her closer, her eyebrows rose ever so slightly, her lips twitching as their bodies pressed together. "You're very charming, pretty sure I've had a blush on my cheeks from the second we met up." Her voice was relatively quiet, as if they were the only two in the room but they were close enough that she was sure she'd be able to hear him whisper. "I consider it very lucky." For a split second, her eyes flashed to his lips, her own parting slightly before she looked back to his eyes. "This really had made a perfect day even better.."

CALLUMS PLACE
➟@lia-lozano
It was late. Callum entered his small apartment and threw his keys on the counter before going to the kettle. "Do you want tea? Coffee?" He asked the woman who followed in behind him. When Avie had told him of her sleepover plans, he had expected a quiet night on the sofa watching catch-up replays of the all-Ireland games back home. He had not expected Lia Lozano to blow up his phone with drunken voicenotes and pictures of her night out. She had been a complete distraction, to the point he had no clue the score in the game. That's why she hit him up for a ride home; he couldn't say no. She was far too drunk to be left to her own devices, and he would worry. "Right, take those shoes off. Your feet must be killing ya'," he laughed. "I'll never understand why people wear those things," he continued with a shake of his head.

LIA'S PLACE, BEACH FRONT - LATE EVENING ➟ FT. @lia-lozano
Lia returning to Briar Ridge was the last thing on Callum's 2024 bingo card. As far as he knew, she was high-flying in the music industry and had forgotten all about the small little town, and the people who resided in it. Apparently not, as he was sitting across from her in a new beachfront house, curious why she had returned...That question would have to wait for another while as the last thing Callum wanted to do was run her out by prying into her life. She had enough of that with the media and fans. Right now he just wanted to be a friend, like she had been to him when he was a nervous kid in a new country.
"So, how long did it take you to message me?" Callum asked with a quirk of his brow. He had heard through the grapevine she had returned longer than he knew of - not that it was his business - he wanted to tease some as part of him was a little hurt that she didn't reach out sooner. Sure, it had been years but they had a bond. Well, so he thought. "I'm glad you did..." he added with a faint smile, glancing over at her.

Saturday, March 30th - Paradise Hotel ➟ @lia-lozano
Callum was mingling with some friends when something caught his eye. Well, someone. Blue hues paused mid-sip to follow the woman as she glided across the room, completely blown away. "Fuck." He downed the drink and then hurried over to her, a grin on his lips. "Well, look who it is?" He chimed. Callum gently put his arm on her shoulder and leaned in to kiss her cheek. "Look at you!" He then added with awe in his expression. "Wow!" He was still adjusting to seeing her around town but also adjusting to the time they lost. It had been very kind to her. He was blushing from just looking at her beauty.

As Alara waited on Lia to finish getting ready, she couldn’t help the smirk that had her lips curling upwards. “Lia, we both know you were just waiting for an excuse to call the fire brigade so you could have hot, muscles fire fighters come rescue you.” she teased, nudging her friend. She knew this because they had both fantasized about doing that exact thing many a time back in Nashville.
“EW! I did not need that mental picture in my life AT ALL.” She admonished, shivering as she thought about it. As the brunette finished tying her shoe laces, Alara pulled and held open the door out of the women’s locker room for the two of them as they headed to the gym where they’d be doing a kickboxing session. “All in all though, I guess I can appreciate that Pudding saved me from having to be the one to dispose of it, so I can’t hate too much.”
Location: Briar Ridge Rec Center Starter for: @alarakcplan
"I'm not saying I nearly called the fire brigade, but I'm also technically not saying I didn't nearly call the fire brigade." Pushing the door to her locker shut, Lia locked it with her padlock before sighing and opening it again, having locked her water bottle in there with her clothes. Opening it again, Lia pulled her trusty and oh so basic Stanley cup from her bag, checking the locker again before she locked it and pushed the key into the pocket of her workout leggings. "It was a really big spider, Lary, who was meant to deal with it?"
Sitting down on the changing bench so she could tie her laces, she set her bottle down next to her as she retied the laces on her overly pink trainers. "Eventually Pudding caught it and ate it but honestly I think that's just grossed me out even more." It wasn't the first time Lia had to be rescued from a spider situation. She sure Alara had been on the end of one of those phone calls, or ten, over their time together in Nashville. "At least I didn't call you though! See? I'm making progress!"

The way Emil swept Lia up in his arms may have given away the fact he'd been wanting to do this for a while. A relatively private man, he'd hidden it well until Kira caught on to her friend's feelings. Honestly, he fully planned on taking his sweet ass time even thinking about making a more obvious move on her, their usual flirtation was safe. Hoping for more was not. So maybe the prank really wasn't the worst thing her friends could've done. That didn't mean Emil wouldn't happily offer to help her get revenge. He let needed air fill his lungs as Lia pulled back, and a somewhat dumb goofy grin tugged at the corner of his mouth. A low husky laugh stuck in his throat, an amused huff of air having parted his lips. "Is that really a complaint?" His tone implied Emil was pretty confident that it was not. If the alcohol in his veins hadn't helped him not overthink, he might've been worried he was rusty, but there was little time to let his mind wander or fret. Lia's soft plush mouth closed the distance between them again and immediately everything else faded. All Emil could do was savor the moment.
Where his steady hands helped anchor her against his frame, Emil's thumb absently dragged a soft line across Lia's outer thigh. A pleased, needy groan sounded against Lia's lips and lingered in his chest. Emboldened by the fact she'd actively sought to initiate a second kiss, Emil really sunk into it. The way his mouth molded to hers was passionate and unwavering. Unwilling to consider parting again until his lungs were on fire. When he did relent, his words were muttered in a low husky breath, "Lia, Mi sol... you're unbelievable." He sounded like a complete fucking sap, but no one would be too shocked by that. Emil always had been one. Some sensibility beckoned to him just long enough to tack on, "I really... really do like you." He felt like the kiss might've made that pretty clear, but just in case, Emil offered the extra reassurance without any prompting.
She would never admit it, but as they stood just smiling at each other, there was a part of her that wanted to kiss her friends for the prank they pulled. She'd still have to pull out some revenge on them purely for how red her cheeks (on her face) had gotten, but maybe if they hadn't of done it, she wouldn't currently be melting under his gaze as much as she was. "Well good.."
There was a version of her that would've been able to play everything off as a joke, a version who would've burst out laughing at the idea of having his name written on her ass. That version had been buried for a long time, too concerned with what other people think of her or say about her but maybe, with Emil's lack of running away after seeing the black marker ink on her skin, that version of her was starting to come to the surface.
As they kissed, it was like the rest of the room fell away and it was just the two of them. She could barely even hear the noise of the room or the music playing anymore, they were in their own little world. She didn't care who saw them kissing, who saw her back arch just to see if she could get her body any closer to his. All she cared about was them.
She gasped softly against his lips as his hands moved down and she was lifted up and as his hands moved again, she wrapped her toned legs around his waist. It was the most intimate thing she had felt with someone in a long time but above all, it was how it felt that he couldn't be close enough to her, just as she felt with him. Pulling back from the kiss a little breathless, Lia rested her forehead against his, although her eyes stayed close. "You're annoyingly good at that.." Her voice was barely a whisper and as she pressed her lips back against his, her arms unwrapped from his neck so she could rest her hands on either side of it, one hand moving up to tangle into the base of his hair.

To his quiet dismay, Emil hadn't seemed to be able to reach through her panic. Lia was understandably hardly even able to look up at him. If the shoe was on the other foot, he wasn't sure how he'd handle it. Still, he hadn't retracted himself — stood calm and resolute. Very, very feebly biting back a laugh at the astonishment in her tone when she finally did manage to look back at him. He licked his lips, having to take a slow breath before he spoke so that he didn't let a bark of laughter slip through. "I do." Emil reassured, once he was pretty sure he could talk without portraying too much of his amusement. In his opinion, it should be him who was the more shocked of the pair. Kira was going to gloat. Lia's warm blinding smile as everything sunk in had him completely melting all over again. Unable to help but match it. A broad smile tugged at the corner of his lips, and the whisper of his withheld laughter managed to break through. A dumbstruck and elated sort of sound. Emil might've tried to say something else, his confession wasn't exactly eloquent, but his brain seemed to stop functioning properly, too wrapped up in the way she was looking at him.
He stayed stood stone still for a split second, letting Lia make the first move. Pretty sure he forgot to breathe for an instant before she leaned in to kiss him and everything else fell away. His hands moved absently to her waist, fingertips pressed into her hips to hold her steady against his frame as they kissed. All sense had flown out the window, whether because he was tipsy or because he was intoxicated by her — he wasn't sure. Emil's mouth was firm against hers, and his only coherent thought seemed to be that he wanted her impossibly closer. So his hands dropped lower, warm palms hooking at the back of Lia's thighs, and he effortlessly scooped her up off the ground. Her arms still wrapped around his neck gave them both a little more stability, but his arms cradled her against him. Lia's legs guided to around his waist.
Her friends knew about her crush, of course they did. There was nothing in Lia's life that they didn't know about, but outside of them, she was sure that no one else knew, especially the man who she was crushing on. There had been times where Lia thought her feelings might have been reciprocated, but given her history with relationships and not seeing things correctly, she didn't exactly trust her judgement. But now, she had no real choice but to confront it, given that his name was quite literally on her ass.
She could only hope he wasn't going to run a mile, whether he liked her or not.
She was too in her own head about the name and how she so desperately wished the ground would swallow her whole to really register the hand on her arm, although she could feel how her skin seemed to instantly warm under his touch. "Glad one of us isn't.." Her voice was quiet, her eyes still searching for her best friends for no real reason other than to avoid seeing any potential ick in Emil's eyes.
She was trying to zone out but as his hand reached to tuck a lock of hair behind her ear, her eyes snapped back to his almost like a reflex. He wasn't running for the hills, he was still there, still as lovely. "You.. do?" Her brain was trying to force her to believe him, to push away the embarrassment of the situation and to see the fun in it, just so she could truly enjoy the moment. God, he truly was gorgeous.
At his confession, her eyes widened a little. She had hoped, but she hadn't been willing to let herself believe it. Maybe her friends were better matchmakers than she thought after all. "You do?" She was pretty sure it was all she had said to him in the last few minutes but it took too much brain power to form a sentence longer than two words.
It was almost like everything else fell away and all she could hear was his assurance that she wasn't alone in her feelings. As a grin split her face, her face smile since she had found out about the name, gone was the flustered girl, the girl who had been acting from a place of panic and in her place, was Lia. She closed the small distance between him as she leaned forward, her hand moving to the side of his neck as her head tilted back. Hesitating for only a second, Lia looked into his eyes before she closed her own and closed the gap, pressing her lips against his. The butterflies in her stomach turned into fireworks and it took only a second before she wound her arms around his neck, pressing her body flush against his.

Whatever else had been on his mind fully and truly slipped away, lost in the heartwarming sound of Lia's airy laughter. His bright blue eyes were alight as Emil's gaze stayed steady on his dance partner. Moving to the upbeat rhythm of the festival music was easy, even if it wasn't quite what he'd grown used to in his more formal dance classes. The lessons were a hobby, a healthy distraction, but dancing on the whole had always just been something he loved and shared with his abuela. "Nah." He shook his head, "I'm sure." A rumbling bellow of a laugh answered the playful title of 'snake hips Moreno'. "Can I get that on a plaque?" Emil's hand at her waist tightened, and he unwittingly tugged her another half-step closer into his sturdy frame. He paid very minimal attention to anything but her as their bodies swayed. "Mmm, maybe but I doubt anyone is lookin' at me with you around." A wink was tacked on for good measure. "As long as you consider it lucky though, I'm not doin' so bad." His smile lingered as he spoke and his feet moved of their own accord.
As they made their way across the bustling dance floor, Emil leading the way and creating the space for her to walk through relatively easily, Lia could only focus on the feel of her hand in his and the butterflies beginning to stir in her stomach. The wide smile hadn't left her face since she had met up with him that night and if she looked in the mirror, she was sure she'd see it growing by each second.
As he turned to her with a grin, it was like the breath rushed out of her body. It had been a long time since anyone had looked at her like that and under his gaze, she felt warm and not just from the blazing sun that was above them. Her head fell back slightly as he held his arm up, an excited laugh escaping her lips as she twirled. As she faced him once more, the smile still shamelessly wide on her face, her hand moved to rest over his shoulder, her fingertips resting ever so slightly against his neck. "Oh yeah? Sure it's not the other way around?" She stepped a little closer to him, unable and unwilling to move her eyes from his face as the butterflies in her stomach got that little bit stronger. "Pretty sure everyone would want a dance with snake hips Moreno over here, I'll just count myself lucky."

Emil pointedly did not comment on her 'That's why we love them', because he was a few steps ahead of Lia in realizing what the pair had been up to. A little sheepish as he watched the same realization slowly wash over a clearly unsuspecting Lia. His teeth grazed his bottom lip, and he silently shook his head no when she tried to encourage him to admit he'd made that revelation up. A small tinge of guilt snuck up on him for having enjoyed the view so much, especially with how flustered she was now. He had to quickly avert his gaze when she turned, "Er..." his heart helplessly leaped into his throat as he tried to keep his focus anywhere but on his name. At that moment Emil was leaning a little more towards team murder them as heat crept up his neck and his features flushed. Inwardly panicking for a split second as Lia apologized. "Hey..." he exhaled a shaky breath and let one of his hands move to gingerly reach toward her arm. His palm settled against her in an attempt to be reassuring. "Lia, it's okay... I'm not bothered." Alright, he was a little hot and bothered but that wasn't anything to apologize for. Most of his own embarrassment faded, replaced instead with the effortless instinct to do what he could to make Lia feel better. She looked genuinely rattled and all he could think was about wanting to put her at ease. He slowly stepped toward her as a soft affectionate smile tugged at the corner of his lips. With a mind of its own, his hand moved to tuck a strand of hair behind her ear and look her in the eyes. "I don't think you're crazy, maybe crazy beautiful." Emil chuckled dryly, fully aware of how cheesy that sounded aloud. Belatedly the word 'matchmaker' rang in his head. Gaze still fully on hers he tipped his head aside slightly, brows furrowed. A puzzled look betrayed his expression. A little bit stunned silent when in the middle of her flustered rambling Lia dropped a bomb on him. "You like me?" Hope soared through him and the question was barely a whisper. His smile grew a mile wide, "Sorry, don't think I can forget that." Elated, it was a little tempting to scoop her up in his arms and spin her around but she was anxious and the last thing he wanted was to get too carried away and make her uncomfortable. Instead, Emiliano took a steadying breath and tried to look a bit less like he'd just won the lottery. "They might've been successful then, because if you haven't noticed — I like you." A lot.
"Maybe not the boots, but otherwise it actually is." The way his eyes ran over had her feeling like she could melt into a puddle right in front of him and as their eyes met again, Lia probably couldn't have told someone her own name. "Thank you.." She so desperately wanted to be cool, to be flirty but she it was like her brain just kept short circuiting. "You don't look so bad yourself, is it wrong that I'm digging the ears?" Mentally kicking herself to sort herself out, Lia took a deep breath, trying to channel some of the confidence she always had on stage if she couldn't do anything else.
As soon as they were talking about her friends, it felt like safer territory and she found herself relaxing just enough. "Oh I know, the things they get me to agree to." Although after enough tequila, Lia was not a stranger to being the coercer in the friendship trio. "It's why we love them though, right?"
As he stepped closer to her, Lia found her gaze drifting from his eyes to his lips, down a little to just how well his shirt fit his torso before moving back to his face, unable to help her gaze from hovering on his lips once more. God, he was gorgeous. It had been a long time since Lia had been just so attracted to someone. If she was honest, she couldn't remember even feeling like this about Chad when she had met him. All she would need to do was to lean in just a little--
"Hm?" The sound of her name snapped her back into reality but as he revealed exactly what was scrawled onto her butt cheek, she wished she could've stayed in the fantasy in her head. "What?" Her face fell and she could feel her entire body warming, even though she wasn't sure she felt the embarrassment just yet. "No, it says Mari, tell me it says Mari." Looking over her shoulder, Lia turned around, trying to get a view of the cheek in question, although all she was doing was giving the man in front of her a perfect view of his name in black permanent marker. "Please tell me you're joking." Looking at him, she quickly turned back around, her face fully flushed as she reached a hand behind to hold it over the name. "You're not joking.."
Glancing around the room, she tried to find her friends who were nowhere to be seen and all Lia wanted was for the ground to open and swallow her whole. "I'm so sorry, I didn't know." They'd taken pictures, but they were all on Holly's phone, no wonder she hadn't sent them to the group chat yet.
Taking a step back from him, she had gone from never wanting to look away from his eyes to being completely unable to meet them. "I'm not crazy, I promise I'm not weird, I never.. This wasn't, I don't know what to say." She was panicking and she didn't know what to do. She wanted to run, but it was too packed. Why had she finished her drink so quickly? "I think it's their idea of playing matchmaker because they know I like you and I just, oh god, forget I said that. God, is it hot in here?" Fanning her flaming cheeks with her free hand, the other still on her other set of cheeks, Lia shook her head. "I'm so embarrassed, I'm so sorry."
