"I don't want to be Klaus Mikaelson. I just want to be Trent Wyatt. No need for the comparisons because I'm sure we're nothing alike." He rolled his eyes. "Yeah. Funny what happens when you get exposed to the public. More funding. More people joining into the propaganda that the supernatural are the problem. Every time I've gotten close, they ten steps ahead," He admitted. "Well there's a witch who is in grave need of having her neck snapped as she led me into a trap. But I like to see what I can get out of her before I bite her head off. Wanna join in?"
"Cute. Sadly for you I've spent a great deal of time in the company of Klaus Mikaelson, and he does the dark sarcasm better," Hayley's mood immediately changed at the response, though, heart leaping into her throat. "They've had her for a year? How can you help, and where are we going?"

❛ Well, boo hoo! I am so sorry your feelings are hurt! ❜ - hayley
Jaw clenched so tight he can feel the strain, he keeps his back turned, unwilling to see the accusation on Hayley’s features. This is all his fault, he knows that; it had been written in horror all over their daughter, a memory that he will never erase, a stain that he can never clean. He achieved the one thing that he had been so, so, so afraid of: Hope looking at him at him with fear. It had been devastating, it still is. He can’t handle this right now; can’t stand to listen to all the ways he’s failed, not from Hayley ( the perfect parent, the one Hope deserves, the one who doesn’t show up bloodied —). ❛ It’s not my feelings I am concerned with, ❜ he snaps, half a lie but mostly truth. He’s more concerned with how Hope’s feelings towards him have been altered.

Belle Marshall-Kenner ( @kennheir ) said ❛ We take care of each other. ❜
The smile that blooms on Hayley's face is immediate, soft and joyful. In spite of everything, in spite of the hardships and the struggles and the pain and the heartache and the losses, her daughters have this.
❛ We do. ❜ Her tone is gentle, though firm in its steadfast conviction, as she brushes her hand over Belle's head, just a gentle touch. ❛ Always and forever. ❜
Hayley hadn't had anyone to take care of her when she was younger, nor anyone for her to take care of. She had been on her own, all for herself because she had to be, because no one else would be. Hope and Belle have each other, always, and they have her. In the end, she has to be glad they have that at least.

Kol raised an eyebrow at Hayley’s eyeroll. “Excuse me, I don’t produce offspring due to my undead state and yet here i am, trying to be a father figure to a tribid with no humanity. When Klaus is freed, I will be having a word and taking him to parenting classes,” He huffed. “You gotta use the rod or whatever they say about children,” He ehard her words and sighed. “She’s saying that you died...” he said softly. “Along with Elijah and Klaus. And for some reason, I am not a good uncle either,”
Kol saw the brunette easily and went towards her, pulling her to the side. "You and I have a lot to discuss. Where's Hope?" At this point, he wasn't sure if he was talking about Young Hope or Mean Teen Hope. He just needed to discuss one of them. "You're not gonna like what I have to tell you," | @mama-marshall

Reverse all means of space and time, and what you are left with is a vast nothingness. The words haunted my mind as the skyline of southern Florida turned into a murky dim light of night. The brightness of the sun faded while a new one took over: rays of the city and all of its boisterous party life. Lexi was not kidding— Miami was nothing short of a party. The streets were filled with people of all shapes and sizes, laughing and talking through rose colored glasses. The colors were bright all around and from every corner of the city music of life and happiness seemed to be playing loud.
It was much different from what I was used to; my life was normally filled with seclusion. Hiding in the shadows… away from people and keeping to myself was how I liked most of my days to be. A total and complete utter darkness. Maybe that was why she wanted me to come here, to get away from the personal hell I lived inside of. Here in this city, I imagined it was hard to live in shades of guilt and self hatred. I also imagined it was easy to give into self pleasures. This was a place I knew my darker self would thrive in. A literal utopia of gluttony for the monster within me. I wouldn't give into the temptation.
With the seduction of hunger came an evil within me that wasn't so easily brushed aside. I didn't leave Mystic Falls in an attempt to save innocent people's lives only to come here and end more. Pulling my car off to the side of the main downtown area, I parked it in one of the dark secluded parts of the city before making a round of the area myself. Life and luxury colored the town for all it was worth as far as I could tell. In that I stuck out like a sore thumb. I wasn't ready for Miami as much as I wanted to be— that much became clearly evident. With wandering eyes paying me mind, I ducked my head and kept to myself for as much as it was worth.
After walking several blocks it wasn't until I saw “The Blackbird” that I knew I was in the right direction. It was a dark and sort of mysterious bar that drew in much attention from the outside. To someone like myself, I knew it was a haven for the supernatural. Every big city like this had one or two places that crawled with vampires— a lux hotspot where we didn't have to hide ourselves. It was a blessing and a curse to someone like me; someone who craved humanity and decency but was also hiding from the darkest parts of themselves.
There was a line out the front of the door, with a few large bouncers guarding the entrance. “Are you on the list?” The dark haired and broad shouldered man questioned me as I voided the line and made way towards the front without hesitation. He screamed of intimidation in a way that most humans would have been put off by. I stood my ground.
“My friend told me to meet her here,” It was a bland excuse, but the best one I could come up with. It was not solely humans lined up at the door, but also low grade vampires. Clearly I wouldn't stand a chance if I didn't use the best card in my pocket.
The guard laughed mockingly. “What's her name?”
“Lexi Branson.” The confidence behind my voice was wavering but I knew it was my only option. I didn't want to let Lexi know I was here just yet— doing so would open an entire can of worms that was best left sealed for now. If she was going to be anywhere in the city, I knew it would be here. She thrives off the party, the fun and all it was worth. I couldn't knock her for it, but I also couldn't bring myself to enjoy those same attitudes just yet. I wasn't in control of myself the way she was…
The guard gave a look to me in question, staring me down for several long seconds before finally motioning for me to enter through the doors behind him. Was I shocked I was right about Lexi? No. After you had known someone for well over one hundred years, their every move became as well known as the back of your hand. I knew her inside and out just as she had me— Lexi was more than my best friend, she was a part of my mind in the same way Damon was.
I could hear the loud music pounding from outside the bar and it only grew as I walked further into the dark entrance. Through the words of music, my own voice began to roar in the back of my head: There was no life, no means of hope. Just an empty space which would one day grow into something beyond imaginable. Something with meaning. Much like the shift in the universe, your life could change as well. One moment all could seem wrong, and as you open your eyes to the new day there is change. Is that what this was now for me? Change?
Extravagance was nothing short of how to describe the scenery around me. It oozed of wealth and finery that was nothing short of wonders. A clear hideaway for all eternal life and the beauty it held. It was also a staple of power in that regard; a grab at influence that left everyone in here seeming higher than life itself. From all corners around me, while dark and gloomy, I could make out people drinking, dancing, and chatting amongst themselves. Through the air the smell of sexual arousal and blood mixed like some sort of intoxicated perfume . My stomach curled but I walked on.
Much like on the street before entering, there were a few eyes that turned my way. I was new here and that much didn't go past the vampires around me. While it should have been comforting to know I was surrounded by people much like myself, instead it put me on high alert. I didn't trust a single soul here. As eternal creatures, we were inherently selfish. We did mostly what suited ourselves the best above all others. I was on the disadvantage of course with my lack of human blood. I didn't know where my next meal would come from… I didn't know if that was the best thing to think about now.
Making a direct line towards the bar, I did my best to keep an eye out for long blonde hair through the sea of people. I sought out a singular energy, but nothing here felt familiar. It was lonely in a way I was not expecting, and that left me feeling puzzled. In a room full of people, without the one you wanted most, you could feel so alone. As I reached the bar, I waited off to the side before one of the bartenders paid mind to my presence.
“What are you drinking tonight?” She was average height and olive toned with a voice soft through the music around. It caught me by surprise, somehow unexpected as her face was hardened. Though to be in a place like this, I'm sure it was easy to look angry. Especially as… a human. Suddenly I realized all the people working here had been human with the expectation of the men outside. A sudden sadness washed over me as I looked at her— what kind of life was she living working here?
“I'll just take a scotch on the rocks.” A reached for my wallet, a trivial item as a vampire as I could merely take whatever I wanted without consequence, but she shook her head when I handed out a twenty dollar bill.
“You must be new,” Her gentle voice added with a laughter through the noise around us. She began to make my drink for me only to soon notice the confusion on my face. “You don't pay here, you're a vampire. Obviously.”
“Was it that obvious?” It was hard to tell. As a human, the only vampire I ever knew was Katherine. Though her beauty stuck me from the moment I met her, I never knew what a human would see when they looked into my eyes. Did I appear with the same appeal Katherine had to me all those years ago? Or did I come across like a normal human? I placed the money back into my wallet and tucked it away. All of this show and dance around me felt incredibly sad in a way, yet if I were human I knew it would hold a much different regard. How did she see this place?
The brunette girl behind the bar nodded her head and slid my drink over to me. “You scream newbie, pretty boy. Watch out…” Her wide doe-like eyes gave me a wink in a way that was far too playful for the haunting look on her face. “Someone here just might take advantage of that.”
I wanted to question what that meant— it was far too ominous to sit properly. Just as my mouth began to open, to even dare put meaning behind the warning, silence caught in my throat instead.
“Now Hayley,” A female voice from behind me dared to break the space between me and the bartender. A single hand was placed on my back, and suddenly I was thrown back into a time and space that was all too familiar to me. A world I had craved for days, knowing it was the right place to be. Lexi. I turned my back to see her bright eyes and mischievous face warning the girl behind the bar: “Don't go scaring Stefan off. He only just got here, and I plan on him staying for awhile.”

The air was heavy with the rising tension and suspense that was building up around them like an invisible cloud. It grew and grew, encapsulating the crowd around them and drawing their gaze away from the festivities and to the pair of wolves - neither of whom would back down from the other or give an inch of submissiveness. "I..." Her words had cut so sharply that he'd temporarily been at a loss for a true response to her statements. "I don't know - that's the point, Hayley. I don't know you. We don't know you! We're scared - Hayley."
Was the admission a personal statement or an attempt to generalize? "We went to sleep..." There was a pause as he gauged the number of ears around them, "...under the stars and then next thing we knew we're waking up to all of this - Triad, attacks on our friends and family. I had a so--" He shook his head, dropping his statement and swallowing hard as he thought about JJ and his words from their conversation prior that evening.
Her revelation of her past hit him harder than he wanted it to. Once more he couldn't help but be reminded of his son - whom had been forced to grow up without anyone there for him. And now Hayley had all but confirmed that not only was that true, but it had been intentional and Oliver himself had brought it upon himself and possibly countless others in their pack?
He didn't understand. Why would he hand Rebekah Mikaelson over to witches? Why would even have been close enough to a family of vampires for that to be possible in the first place. There were so many variables from a future that hadn't happened yet; it was infuriating. "That's not me." He stated once more in a threateningly low tone. "Not now. Not ever. I'm not some power-crazed lunatic. Screw you." He stated through a snarl before turning on his heel and barging off - forcing his way through the crowd of onlookers.
-----
From the balcony above, the Original hybrid merely smirked down at the mother of his daughter; naught but pride across his features at her defiant display. Grabbing a glass of wine from a traveling servant, he dangled the glass between his fingertips and lifted it in Hayley's direction as a toast before drinking from it.
A low growl ripped through her frame, silencing the people around them as they began to turn and look at the pair and yet Hayley's gaze never faltered from the blonde before her, gaze narrowing dangerously as she took a step forward, complete refusal to back down from him just as she had the first time around. "You don't know a god damn thing about me, Oliver," Hayley states, words sharp as a knife as they dripped off her tongue. "I've never given a shit about what anyone says or thinks about me and I sure as hell don't give a shit about gossip. This is adulthood, real life, not high school. You and the rest of the Crescents that came from the past know nothing of the things that I've done for all of you. My fondness for the vampires and the humans are because they have helped me help you lot and keep you all protected, the Mikaelson's included." Her words halt momentarily as she shakes her head. "And for the record, I'd be very careful who you piss off tonight and what you say to who because a few short months from now in your time, you hand Rebekah Mikaelson over to the witches so they could torture her. Us wolves are no better than the humans or the vampires or the witches. It would do you well to remember that."
Brows furrowed, her evident distaste and anger for the words that followed the information she provided plastered against her features as she gave a firm yet disappointed shake of her head. "Why the hell would I lie about any of that," the she-wolf questions, a demanding tone in her voice. "What could I possibly gain from lying about that? You worked with the Guerrera wolves, essentially served them like the obedient little dog you are." He had reformed shortly after and she would acknowledge that- at some point- but he needed to hear this. She needed to ensure he knew exactly what his future self would do and hopefully- hopefully that would prevent it from happening again. "Blindly trust me," she questions, head shaking again. "No. I never expected that but even when I did give reasons for you to trust me, you refused. I wasn't one of you, I didn't grow up the same way you did and for that I was outcasted." Her frame slinks back at his words, an ache in her chest as she shakes her head and her features falter, brows dipping as she struggles to mask the pain she felt even if she had long since gotten past her childhood. "I wasn't a part of your pack because my parents were murdered by Jackson's grandfather when I was a baby and thrown into the foster system. I didn't have a choice in any of that. Until I met the Mikaelson's, I had never really had a family and then I met Jack and- he was the first person to actually make feel loved, to tell me that he loved me regardless of my past and regardless of my daughter being the child of the big bad hybrid. So before you go and try to throw that in my face, maybe don't make assumptions."
She doesn't return the golden gaze, merely shakes her head and scoffs as a hand rises to wave him off. "Not yet, no," Hayley counters. "You want to hate me then please by all means be my guest. You wouldn't be the first and you certainly won't be the last. As for trusting me, you don't have to do that either but if you're going to believe anything that I say then let it be this- if you ever, for any reason, turn your back on Jack and this pack, if you ever hurt him the way that you did and I have to witness that all over again... I will kill you myself, slowly and painfully. Do you understand me?"

it was unusual for rosalie to be back at the local bar this early, given how she would almost always be stuck tweaking some cars at the shop until the late hours. however, with the new restrictions in place following the murders of some council members and a college student, rosalie had to close up shop earlier than normal to emulate what law-abiding humans would do. she, however, cared very little for the rules but a part of her also wanted to save herself the hassle of dealing with the police should they ever pay her a visit and start questioning her for whatever reason they see fit. and so, the vampire did just that, although it did not necessarily mean she is to retire so early back home, no.
in fact, as it was on her way home, rosalie decided to pay a friend a visit. the wolf bartender she found quite a delight to bother lately, although she would rather get staked first than to admit she had taken even an inkling of liking to her. entering the establishment, rosalie notices just how empty it is -- it was odd, to say the least, but she also understood why. people are scared, of course, but that didn’t include her. not necessarily, no --- and as it seems, she wasn’t alone in her bout of disobedience. “ did you miss the memo ? ” the blonde states as soon as she catches sight of the familiar woman behind the bar, an impish smile on her face as she approached the other. “ there’s a new curfew set in town --- you should be closing up the bar by now, ” and yet, her actions contradict her own words as she gently pulled a stool by the bar, taking a seat with such finesse as if she meant to take all her time sitting on it. “ the police might come knocking, you know... ”

( closed ft HAYLEY MARSHALL ) for @svrvivals ( for hope ! )
hayley was holding a plate while she walked back in the direction of her office when she saw her. hope. her daughter. of course, with everything that was going on, and it being mystic falls, hayley naturally assumed that hope would be somewhere in this town. but actually seeing her was a completely different thing. the plate she was holding nearly dropped, but she caught it and then she walked over. even with all her abilities heightened with being a hybrid, hayley felt like she was almost out of breath. “hope?” she asked, looking at the other with wide eyes. almost like she was worried her mind was playing tricks on her.

@lovedtooeasily liked for a starter
“I took care of it”. She’s wiping her blood soaked hands on a towel, as she approaches Rebekah through the foyer of Marcel’s old loft apartment, with the vast windows and the ample view of the French Quarter. Now, it feels empty in Marcel’s absence, and the sunlight shining through them makes Hayley feel eerily exposed, but she doesn’t tell her -- she doesn’t tell Rebekah that she’s worried, that she’s always worried, about the future of New Orleans and the factions under the guidance of a new thumb.
She knows Rebekah, she’s a Mikaelson, and Mikaelsons were as much feared as they were unwelcomed by witches, wolves, and other vampires alike. She stops short of Rebakah’s side, as she too, looks at the scenery below them, the burning barrels with the bodies of the vampires Hayley had so graciously disposed of right outside their building. “I think they’ve heard the message loud and clear. They won’t be bothering us again”.

@lunarbravado
Bright lights shone above her, making the little tribrid blink lazily to try to get rid of the glare. “I know this was my idea,” she puffed, pulling her knees up. “but can we maybe try something.. that doesn’t end up with me on my ass every single time?”
Her mother’s face swam above her, blocking the bright lights. Hope lay flat on her back, staring upwards, a slight smile on her face even though she’d been bested by the older woman. Yet again. She grinned at Hayley, reaching for her outstretched hand, feeling like she needed help onto her feet this time. ( After countless times of her ending up on the floor ).
